We drove up to Santa Barbara from LA to elope at the courthouse, and had ordered a suit from The Black Tux. We wrongly assumed the pants would fit because they were supposed to be custom order, but when my (now) husband tried them on they were so long! We went into emergency panic mode to try to get them hemmed where we were staying in Montecito, and every tailor we reached out to said it was too short notice and it would be hundreds of dollars to rush it. Ding's tailoring promptly sent us a message saying they could do it that day for a flat fee of $22! Since we were getting married the next day and had zero time to spare, we took the shirt drive to Goleta and it was so worth it. When we got there, she had him try on the pants on with his shoes, then told us to come back in a hour. We went to grab some coffee, and about an hour later, the pants were done and looked PERFECT! Ding's Tailoring came through and saved the day! They were quick to measure and pin, promised it back within a week, and were prompt and did a great job! I needed a simple tailoring. Just the bottom section of my daughter's Halloween dress removed and then placed about 5 inches higher. It probably took them Maybe 3 min. It cost me $30. When she tried it on this morning before leaving for school I saw there was a section gaping. One single running stitch was done around it to keep it on and there was a section where they had stitched above the piece and then back down so it wasn't connected. I quickly had to use 2 safety pins to hold it on and hope she doesn't pull on the dress at all or it will probably come apart. For $30? Not great read more

I needed two pair of pants tailored, just hemmed from the bottom ( a very easy fix) that probably took 5 minutes in total for both and i got charged $59, which i think is a little overpriced but in desperate need I agreed. I came on Friday and was told that by Sunday it would be ready, I'm from out of town so I called ahead of time on Tuesday to confirm that my pants were ready for pickup, I spoke to the owners wife and she confirmed that they were ready for pickup. I drove an hour (considering I just moved) and upon arrival the woman was very confused and had confused me with someone else and unfortunately my pants were not ready at all. Due to her miscommunication I was misinformed that they were ready. Finally a few days later when my pants were done, I did not receive a phone call or anything notifying me that they were ready. On the communication aspect with their customers on time, I believe they're lacking. I was really bummed to have to write this review especially considering my husband had such a great experience getting his wedding tuxedo tailored. I believe the owner worked with him. This review is definitely more reflective on his wife. I'd love to maybe retry this place but work directly with just the owner. read more
