I would DEFINITELY give minus stars if I could! I took in some pants to have buttons sewed on to accommodate suspenders. Well I should have asked how much he would charge, my mistake! DO NOT GO HERE. Wish I could give negative stars. Came in to have two bridesmaid dresses hemmed. One of the dresses didn't even need a hem just the bottom trimmed shorter and the straps shortened. The other needed a hem. Could have honestly done the bottom trim and strap shortening myself had i not already been there having him tell me what he was recommending done to the dress, plus needed the other one hemmed anyway which I can't do. Nothing complicated. Asked him in advance how much it was going to be. He just brushed it off and said depends on time. I made it very clear "I'm asking so I'm not shocked that it's a hundred dollars or anything" He laughed. I should have known. my biggest mistake and regret was not demanding him to give me a quote in advance. I should have forced it out of him or left. He seemed so nice and I didn't think he was planning on ripping me off. Got charged 95 dollars for: one dress hem, the other bottom trimmed (it didn't even come out perfect) and a quick strap shortening (he didn't even cut off the excess strap just sewed a cm over it to make it shorter). I know a little about sewing and this strap shortening procedure does not take that long - I've done it many times and it only takes a few mins. When I got the bill I asked now much he charged for putting some basic stitches on my straps and he said 30 dollars. What a rip off. 30 dollars to trim the bottom off. Are you kidding me! I was so livid that even after I paid and I went to my car I walked back in (I felt like he needed to hear it more clearly again) and i told him that i thought it was too expensive and In the future when a client asks how much it's gonna be that he needs to be clear on the price. I was professional about the whole thing. I told him exactly what i had said the week prior when I asked him for a quote in advance so as not to end up paying 100 dollars and he said "well it's 5 dollars less than 100 dollars" Unbelievable. I'm all for paying a little extra for the convenience of someone doing a basic alteration especially when we live busy lives, but I feel taken advantage of in this case and it is not ok. Shame on this man. I feel like I just had my money stolen :( read more

I love this place! It was quite an amazing and intimate experience. We have a doll made out of cloth that we received from Uganda. The dolls name is Frederick named after a very special person. Fredrick had been passed down from one of our kids to another and then another! HE IS VERY LOVED... Frederick would always accompany our family to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's witnesses and he needed a new "suit." We were a bit worried that the tailor may think we were weird for bringing him in... to our surprise Santana and his wife were very excited to help us! Not only did Frederick have a new outfit when we picked him up! He had a whole new look! Many months later! We returned because Fredericks arm came off! Santana was so happy to see us and immediately informed us that his wife had made another outfit for Frederick since they too were quite intrigued by How loved the doll was... Sadly, they had misplaced our number and had almost given up hope that we would ever return... they hung up the tiny outfit next to all the human sized suits.... much to their surprise and our own! I went to Santana's recently with a pair of jeans, a tank top and a t-shirt dress. I just needed the dress length hemmed, jeans hemmed and the tank top straps shortened. All of this was $63. Definitely too expensive for the quality of work. They also sewed the tag on my t-shirt dress into the new hem so there's a ripple and it won't lay flat. read more

Love this place! I've had trousers hemmed, pegged and waistlines increased. They don't speak much english and I speak even less spanish but somehow it all works out. Also, the prices are very reasonable- especially for SB. Oh and the turn around time is usually under a week. read more
