I love Perfect Fit. Truly love it. I haven't needed to alter anything in awhile but just got a pair of never-worn but consigned J Brand. I don't know who they think wears these--WNBA players?--but I'm 5/8 and these were at least 4 inches too long even accounting for 3 inch heels. I brought in a bunch of stuff: 1) An old leotard I wear as a lap suit with a strap removed by the suit dryer, 2) An unusual dress with straps about 1.5 inches too long, which made it too easy for my boobs to pop out by mistake, 3) Old Juicy Couture sweats I love with holes in crotch and back, 4) A halter which needed adjustment (leather), It must be too late because I know there was a fifth thing and I can't remember what it was. I brought the items in late Tuesday and picked up around noon on Friday. For all it was 130. You can't get a good hem/taper on a jean for under 25 in SB and while I never dry clean in SB (Park Lane in LA is reasonable and everything in NYC is so cheap by comparison to SB). I thought this was more than reasonable and even if it were more than going downtown, I prefer Montecito. Coast Village is so lovely and easy. Peppino's in NYC (61st/Lex) is where I go when back East. But I'm not moved to find a tailor in LA because Perfect Fit is, in a word, perfect. read more

I picked up a gown that had been perfectly tailored and shortened. It was ready on time as promised and fits beautifully!

I had purchased a leather pencil skirt from SaksFifthAvenue.com. I was beyond excited once it had arrived. Unfortunately, it was far too large and not the right fit for me. Even worse, it was the smallest size available and the product had now been completely sold out. Being that I was madly in love with this skirt, returning it was not my intentions. Rather, I was determined to find a way to have this skirt made to fit like a glove! I was referred to The Perfect Fit. As soon as I walked in, I was warmly welcomed by Patricia, a seamstress and the owner. I shared with her my dilemma and what I wanted to see. Without blinking an eye, she asked me to step into the dressing room, put on the skirt and come back out. It was very clear for her to see the problem at hand. Still not ever a doubt she could fix this for me. Patricia asked me to stand in front of the mirror, as she stood behind me and quickly began pinning away, as I was explaining to her my desired results. It took her less than (5) minutes. I returned back to the dressing room. When I stepped out I handed her back my pinned up skirt, and she asked me when I wanted it back. I stated how I was hoping to wear this to a holiday party I was attending in less than a week. She said not a problem and that she would have this completed for me by then. I was a bit worried my new leather skirt would truly turn out how I wished it to, but I trusted Patricia knew exactly what she was doing. Fast forward to completion day. When I arrived to pick up my skirt, Patricia was with another client. Without hesitation, she turned to me and said my skirt was completed and asked if I wanted to try it on to make sure it was right. And so I did. As soon as I stepped out, I was quickly complimented on what a stunningly beautiful skirt, by the other client. I quickly looked for myself and instantly smiled with delight! I turned to Patricia, who was already smiling, and I thanked her for her excellent work. My skirt turned out to be truly amazing! All in time for my holiday party, just as I was promised it would be. I am extremely pleased to have met such an incredibly talented seamstress, who not only pays attention to detail, but truly cares about her clients and giving them exactly what they ask for, as she has with me. Ask for a quote before you hand over your clothes because this place is EXPENSIVE!!! Minor alternation on a shirt (undo 2 in of seam and resew to open up shirt), repair of a seam, and adding a pregnancy panel to a pair of pants cost $80! The first was literally a 2 minute job (I know because it wasn't done when I went in). That said, the quality of the work is top-notch. read more

We love coming to The Perfect Fit! Patty and her team excel at alterations. When my husband and I lost a bunch of weight, she took in all our pants (and it was a lot of pants). Patty always gets hem jobs done quickly and well. Of course, the real reason we love coming here is that we throw a big costume party every year and Patty has constructed everything from gold foil board shorts to sequined togas for us to wear.
