I tried telling the guy what I was looking for and he interrupted me in a friendly and charismatic way, which seemed nice at first but I realized later it was just a sales tactic to take advantage of the customer. He quickly put a couple jackets on me and we found a size that fit me, and he said quickly and almost in passing, "This is a $1,400 suit, okay?" I kinda laughed sheepishly and said okay. I thought we were just trying to find a good size first, but he took my "uh, okay" as like a FULL commitment to THAT suit, I guess? I did not mean that at all--I've never had a sales experience like that buying anything expensive. He started taking measurements and making markings for tailoring. I realized what he was trying to do and after he got up I asked if he had something less expensive, and that I couldn't make $1,400 work. He then got angry and argumentative with me and said he "told me from day 1" that the suit was $1,400... Sorry for wasting your time. Really appreciated you muttering under your breath as I was leaving. Might want to change your approach for young men who clearly can't spend over a grand for a suit

They told me a manager would call me and asked me to leave the fabric with them. Nobody called. I called the next day and asked for the promised callback, and didn't get one. I called again the following day and again two days after that. I still heard nothing. Today I went in to collect my materials. I was told they had done nothing wrong because they couldn't understand their own internal notes. I've used Ablitt's for dry cleaning clothes and curtains for years and paid more for the convenient location. I won't be back. Other local shops handled this project and others faster, for less money, and actually returned my calls.

First off, I love that Kim's Tailoring is open until 7 pm and you can bring in a pair of pants for…read morehemming after work. Usually, you're rushing to get to the tailor early in the morning and this feels so much more humane. First, you go into the little dressing room that's plopped into the front of the shop and Kim pulls out a 2x2 boxed step in front of a mirror. You step up and Kim pins your pants. You approve the length as you watch in the mirror and then change out of the pants. At the counter, she asks when you want the pants... I picked 2 days later and it was no problem. Two days and $20 later, I swung by again just before 7 and left with the hemmed pants. Kim's is super convenient for me. She's also a fine seamstress, having done a wonderful job on a tricky hem that has a zipper down the outside of each leg. She had a clever solution that cut the zippers (in order to hem the pants) but retained the integrity of the zippers. I took away one star because the little dressing room's floor is always filthy with fibers, hair, clothes tags, and loose straight pins. Be careful not to step on a straight pin when you're in your stocking feet changing pants.

But it still should have had top notch alterations that really brought out my body features. It did not. The day before the wedding, the dress could not zip at all. She assumed I would lose 2 inches in water weight. Not the case. The dress also just fell down my body rather than hugging my his and accentuating my curves. Kim fixed everything in less than a day. She took the dress out and created amazing curves with the dress! I felt so beautiful. Thank you so much Kim! She also hemmed my husbands jacket for the wedding for a very reasonable price. Other tailors in town quotes him 4 times the cost! Ridiculous. Thank you again Kim. We will be going to you for everything.
