I've been here three times. The service is slow, but its not bad. Most of the delay is due to the customers asking questions. They usually have three employees working the counter in the afternoons. I made an appointment to renew my daughter's passport because the USPS website said one is required. The earliest appt was a month later. We moved all our appts around so we can make the passport appt. Finally, on the day of the appt, we arrived (on time) only to find 6 other families waiting to be served. I told the guy we had an appointment at 9am. His response was that we would have to wait until he finished serving everyone else. He wanted to "accomodate" everyone. I believe all 6 parties waiting did NOT have appointments because our appointment was at 9am and according to the website, passport acceptance hrs for this post office was from 9am-2pm. And my suspicion was confirmed when the next guy he served said to him, "Thanks for accomodating me." There were 2 other families who arrived after us and not once did he bother to check if they had appointments or not. I am all for him "accomodating" everyone, but when someone shows up at their appointed time, he needs to give them priority and not put them at the back of the queue behind all the walk-ins. We ended up waiting 45 minutes for our turn. The post office is not the kind of place you want to be waiting with a 6 year old and a 3 year old. I was completely miffed. Had I known it was first come first serve, no appointment needed, I would not have waited a month for an appointment. I wish there was a way for me to file an official complaint. I will never come back to this location for passport renewal or for anything else for that matter. read more

I am giving 5 stars to the lady in the back room that helped me with my 5 boxes. I had a simple yes or no question that I asked and she didn't hesitate to help me right away with a kind word. She rocks and has the joy and love for her customers! You are in the right profession girlfriend! She also had the attention for details on my packages which I appreciated since it was my first time using the automated machine to print labels. (She should train the guy in the passport window on costumer service! Give me a break dude!!!! I first tried to ask him for help and he was cold, rude, couldn't be bothered. I had a yes or no question that I need help with and he said no questions. I was thinking are you for real? Am I on Candid Camera? Where is the camera crew? Well, were do I begin. Let's go with multiple missed deliveries of my neighbors to me, which then I end up taking care of myself for the local USPS. In essence, I am doing their job. Convenient for them. Heaven knows where my mail is going? If this was not government run, they would be out of business for sure. Customer service is suspect at best. Heaven forbid you have any major issues because the local office (and website) are not helpful at all. It is too bad I have to put 1 star in order to enter this review. Rude rude rude. Not professional to customers. I came in to reprint a copy of a receipt for my company's monthly bank statement (5 days after I sent out the original shipment) and they refused to approach the situation. They just said they can't do anything for me and made me feel I was harassing them EVEN THOUGH I do this on a monthly basis at other USPS locations with no problems EVER. Of course, their manager was out of town for two weeks so they told me to come back when she was back. I come back 2 weeks later to more attitude from the manager saying I needed to come back within 7 days after my original transaction in order to get the receipt (I did) making me feel inferior and helpless to the situation, and pretty much stating that I am wrong and they did everything correctly. I just simply asked the manager if she can teach her employees how to reprint a receipt for next time and she snapped back saying "My people did everything right", and "there won't be a next time". The San Ramon post office used to be efficient, not so much now. The only person that seems to care about giving people great customer service is a lady named Renee..she's very personable & efficient...she should be promoted. There's a couple of Asian ladies..don't know their names off hand that are VERY RUDE!! They should not be working with the public, they truly make it a bad experience for me every single time. Got a Sorry we missed you note on door. Didn't say will try to deliver again or pick up at post office. When I went down to post office they said I can't pick up package. Another incident is I had a package deliver with expensive bags in them that were ruined by the post office because they left a little note saying sorry. That's it. We brought all needed documents for the passport application, but the clerk, who reviews and accepts them, treated us in a very rude and disrespectful manner and dismissed our application. He said that we completed the wrong form, but we came back home and double-checked and the form was correct - DS-11 (for the child). He made a mistake. He was angry and rude. In the beginning, he didn't say what the problem was, just was expressing his anger in other ways - e.g. angrily made my husband read the instructions. My husband did, but still didn't understand what the problem was. Because, like I said, there was no problem and we completed the correct form. We felt humiliated and now we have to wait long time to make another appointment or go to another city, which is not convenient for us. I think no officer has a right to be this rude. They should be patient and explain what the problem is. But they should also be more accurate and check before dismissing the application! He refused even to talk to us, even though we had 15 min for our appointment. The number of the form is clearly written in the corner, but apparently he didn't look at it. For the last several years, I've noticed the accuracy in mail delivery gets worse and worse. I've given up calling the Postmaster to report mis-delivered mail. Weekly, I'll get mail meant for one of my neighbors. One time I received a mailing that looked really important for someone that lived a few miles away. My neighbors get my mail, too, because it is left under my door mat -- as you know, such a "safe" place. Also, there are times I haven't received my mail because of communications I receive later from companies I do business with. I have mistakenly opened my neighbor's mail that was mis-delivered to me!! A real invasion of privacy. Every time I pull my mail from my box, I now need to double check to ensure it is for me so I could put any mail not meant for me in the outgoing mailbox as I'm tired "delivering mail" for the post office to my neighbors. This issue didn't exist a couple of decades ago. I used to be able to grab mail and just rip it open without a thought. Seriously, their accuracy record is abysmal. read more

We were supposed to receive a package about one month ago. A week or so after the delivery date, we called the company we bought it from and they said their computer said our package has been delivered, and we have to contact the post office. So we did. They said they spoke with the mailman working the day the package was "delivered", and he said he put it in the right box. Of course he would say that.......... We were given a phone number of a supervisor and when we called, there wasn't even a voicemailbox to leave a message. Then we get a postcard in the mail and it said the post office has been trying to contact us. Our case number was on it, as well as a phone number to call. I called the number on the postcard and a supervisor picked up. From what I heard her say, her name was Rishi. I told her how much effort has been put in on our end so that she could understand the urgency of the call. She said the website to check the case number was down, and she would call back in about an hour. It is now 3 hours past and not even a phone call to let me know if the system is still down or not. I have called 7 times over a 20 minute period and no one is picking up. If you know the customer has been trying to track down their package for a month now, why is that not a priority? I've lived in San Ramon for 19 years. About 8 years ago I gave up going to the San Ramon PO, rented a box at the Danville PO and have not looked back. The employees at the SR PO are so rude. It's like there is a competition to see just how slow they can move, how few customers they can help in one day. I'm writing this now because I just had to call the San Ramon PO to find out where the package is that USPS says was "delivered" to my house. The gal on the phone told me to call back in 10 minutes when someone else was available. Doesn't she work for the PO and shouldn't she be able to help me??? Honestly, I agree with one reviewer, the Postmaster General needs to put this lame duck down for good. Go to the Danville PO on Camino Tassajara. I put in a change of address for mail to begin coming to the new address by Oct. 15. This is now Oct. 22 and the mail is still being delivered to the old address. Not one piece has been forwarded. I know that the change of address went through because I received a confirmation of such. I just now called (this is a Saturday) and received a recording about business hours. Saturday hours are 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. I was advised to call back during regular business hours. It is now 1:38 p.m., although I started calling at 1:30 p.m., a full one and a half hours before closing time. I stayed on the line after the final announcement and finally, after about 10 to 15 rings, I got another message saying that I could leave a message, but then was immediately informed that I could not leave a message because the mail box was full. I've gotten better service from street muggers. In comparing the two, I was inclined to tip the mugger. read more

Recently, in our area of Canyon Lakes mail has been getting sent back to senders for a technicality having to do with a dash between the last 2 digits of our street address number. Our mail has been getting delivered for 10+ years without the dash, now an employee named Margaret has decided their crack crew can decipher this cryptic code no longer. What a joke!! read more

I am a former Postal employee. I've worked in Connecticut, Sacramento and Hawaii. This is by far the worst post office I've ever been to. They never pick up the telephone. I had an important question about the overnight accessibility of the location that I attempted to ask a clerk, and he walked away from me and acted as if he didn't see or hear me. Tonight, 12/31/2019 I received a notification that the package I've been waiting for all day for, had been attempted but not delivered because my "driveway" was blocked. I live in a house off of Crow Canyon...what driveway? There's the street and then my house. There is barely a sidewalk, let alone a driveway. Horrible service. Ridiculous lies that will never be addressed by management. You didn't attempt delivery. You attempted to lie...and you've successfully done that. If you attempted to deliver it...then where is the PS 3849 form? This was clearly a case of either a regular being lazy on a holiday. Or a CCA that was told to leave it for the regular. I haven't quite figured out why this has become the slowest post office within the 48 contiguous United States (I imagine there's an even slower one in Hawaii somewhere). I think it's a combination of the postal clerks that move like they are wearing lead shoes, and the computer illiterate residents of San Ramon that don't know how to use the perfectly functional Automated Postal Center unit in the lobby, and instead wait in the long ass line just to get a stamp. No matter what time of day I come here, there are always fifteen people in line and two postal clerks working. I would never voluntarily choose to stand in that line, but the last couple of times I came to deliver an international package, the APC wouldn't accept it. I have a better shot at making it back to my office before my lunch hour is over by driving to a post office in SF and driving back than I am if I wait at the San Ramon Post Office. read more

Just another person with a HORRIBLE experience at the post office. Robert (the passport guy) was incredibly rude to start with. For someone who has never gotten a passport, I would expect him to cut me some slack, but instead he somehow expected me to already know everything as if I worked in the passport department for 20 years. I think one star may be too much for this location. I've never been to a worse post office and I'm constantly shipping packages from my ebay sales. The staff have no interpersonal skills at all as they don't even greet you with a smile when you approach them. If you try to make some light hearted conversation, they just ignore it. Unfortunately, shipping packages here isn't as bad as having to pick up a package. First, you have to go to the "pick up" door and ring the bell. You're lucky if they answer within 5 minutes. Then it can take up to 30 minutes to find you package. Meanwhile the line is growing and the counter staff just tell you they aren't allowed to help since they're at a different station. This place is so disorganized...no wonder the postal service is in trouble. Today I was put on hold for 22 minutes by a woman after she asked me if the redeliver form was left in my mailbox. I said "yes.," but she kept she kept asking the same question as if I were stupid. I added information about how I knew I had left it and it had been taken because it wasn't there when I looked later (and neither was new mail). Again she asked me and I said, "let me be clear. I left the form in my mailbox a week ago." At that point...click...and I got put on interminable hold listening to PO advertising. Finally I hung up and called back and a man answered who got my address and then told me that the letter was there but it can't be redelivered because I need to sign for it. I said, what about the form that said, sign here and you'll get it redelivered. Oh...that doesn't work for registered mail. I have to be there in person. I said, OK, I'm here and will be here the next four hours. Sorry...they can't possible deliver in 4 hours. It will be sometime tomorrow. I said, when? They don't know. I ssaid, I can't stay home for 8 hours just hoping somebody shows up. Sorry. Then come in in person. I said, I have done that. I waited over 20 minutes and was nowhere near the front of the line when I had to leave for another appointment. Oh...well you can just go to the window and ring a bell and someone will bring it out. Hello! Could this note I was left give me any of these instructions? What a total hassle. And this rude employee who clicked off on me without a word and never came back on line should be fired. In any private enterprise she could be...but not the post office. Those employees have no reason to care whether customers are served or happy. I received a notice that I had to pick up a piece of certified mail. The hours on the slip said they were open until 5:30pm during the week. I arrived at 5:10 and they were closed. The most annoying thing about one of the employees here is that she refuses to even TRY to understand what you are saying. Last time she told me-" I don't understand what you people say."- whatever 'you people' meant. First of all, what can't I put zero star! One star is too good for them. We moved to Dublin several months from an the Midwest. We had a great post office where we used to live and never had one single problem. Thought that was the norm. Wrong!!!! Every reviewer says pretty much the same thing but this is the WORST post office I've ever dealt with and it happens to be our main post office to handle delivery. I ordered a big Christmas present for my son and paid for a hefty Christmas guaranteed delivery. They said they use FedEx but FedEx now uses USPS to actually deliver the packages. As it turned out, the post office for some reason decided not to deliver the package today (They haven't delivered even regular mail for today but the tracking says they attempted delivery but we were not available, which is 100% lie!! WE ARE HERE ALL DAY!). The package was the guaranteed delivery date and I can't even talk to anyone. Don't know how many times I called but always said call us during the office hours when I am calling during their office hours. You can even get transferred anywhere. I wish I had the same post office I used to have in the midwest. They were so good and I feel sorry for them as those incapable USPS employees here tarnishes the whole entity's reputation. Now I have to see tears from my son on Christmas Day (He is being in his best behavior since he thought that will require to get all gifts he listed on his Santa's list.). Calling the San Ramon post office for help has got to be one of the most frustrating things on the planet. The Dublin post office was great however San Ramon is useless. I was calling to inquire about a package that they say was delivered that we never received. I COULD NOT get to a real human voice. Every time i tried to leave a message the mailbox was full. When I tried an extension it wouldn't go through. it would transfer me to a voice mailbox and then say that I couldn't leave a voice mail. What kind of help does this provide?! ABSOLUTELY AWFUL. Incredibly rude. They have my package but won't let me have it because my company has a courier. They refused to even check our PO Box. The first lady that helped me wouldn't even let me finish a sentence and just kept saying no. The second lady just didn't listen to anything I had to say. I need it for this weekend and I paid extra to have delivered by Thursday. It got delayed by a day and now I have to wait until Monday. This post office needs to learn what customer service is. This is the WORST place to get passports especially if you have babies. It's by appointment only and claim you can take passport photos there...but the service SUCKS!! The supervisor is NOT helpful at all, in fact she is VERY RUDE. She rushes through everything and is not at all accommodating when it comes to trying to dealing with babies and taking passport photos of a crying baby who obviously is uncomfortable. Camera they have is a piece of crap - they don't know how to use it. They passed off the camera to the parents, which was fine, but they don't even help but rush you to take the photo. They talk over each other which makes it hard for you to understand or even focus on one's conversation. We gave them passport pictures that we took ourselves and immediately refused it in a rude manner. If you have to go to this location to turn in passport application, my suggestion is DO NOT use them for photos. Take it yourself or go to a place that understands kids/babies. read more
