    Door locked early

Came here during their normal PO Box/lobby access hours and they were closed early AGAIN. Groups of people were showing up and bewildered why they were closed early. Management needs to straighten this out.

So, let me paint you an image so you can see how ideal my day was before coming here. I came here early in the morning, as soon as I woke up from a refreshing and comfy 8 hours of sleep. Today, I also only have to work half a day (and remote). Most things in my life are going exactly the way I want them to. So with that eager and overflowing optimism and positive attitude is how I approached the task of sending a medium-sized box using this USPS location. Most people here leave 1 and 2 star reviews, and it is understandable: no one comes to the Post Office because they want to, but rather because they have to. They also come after a full day of work, when it's the most crowded (when I went, there were barely any people there), and they come with lots of packages or when the employees at the window are the most exhausted, so the 1 and 2 star reviews have a bit of a biased foundation to begin with. After everything I wrote, knowing that I was in the best possible frame of mind, and after looking at my other HUNDREDS of reviews with 5 and some 4 star reviews, you'd be surprised to see a 2 star review from me, no less! Here's the scenario: there were two clerks at the window (please see attached photo) but only one of them was "working". She failed to acknowledge me and just started proceeding to input the info from my package in the system: no hard feelings. The whole time while I was in front of her, she was talking to her coworker (who was, in no shape or form, taking care of customers, she was just there to gossip with the working clerk). She only briefly stopped mid conversation to ask me if I wanted to send the package as ground or priority. I was in no rush so I just said media mail. She then proceeded to also add the signature confirmation charge on it, which I did not request at all, again, no biggie, while continuing to talk to her coworker. All in all, way too early and way too chill of a work environment (A/C, barely any customers, etc) for her to have given me such poor customer service. First and last time I'll come to this location, from now on, I will be going to the one in Colorado which is a bit further away, but the clerk there is always on top of things.

First we were inside then outside where there was more room.

Due to the Eaton Canyon fires Altadena residents who couldn't get mail service has to pick up there mail at the main post office on Lincoln. Wow I believe the general manager was there and he got us organized and getting our mail outside on a table in no time. Way to go

I contracted Box & Ship to handle the packing and return shipment of my original oil painting and custom frame from the 2025 California Art Club Gold Medal Exhibition. Their responsibility was simple: pack my artwork properly, with all of my original packing material, that I clearly had instructions to save, so it would arrive safely. Instead, their negligence, of not saving my original packing material and their poor repackaging, caused damage to my frame, and their customer service afterward towards me was dismissive and unprofessional. Here are the facts: Improperly sealed box: When I received my painting via FedEx on September 10, 2025, one end of the box was barely taped shut and nearly open. Only two pieces of tape barely holding one end of the box closed. My original packing material was mostly missing inside: There was very little packing material holding the painting and frame in the box. The artwork could shift around freely during shipping. Missing original packing: When I shipped my painting to the exhibition in July, I personally packed it with bubble wrap and peanuts so it was tight and secure....it could not move at all. It arrived to the California Art Club Gold Medal Exhibition undamaged and safe. However, after waiting 3-4 weeks to have my painting shipped back to me and Box & Ship finally got around to send it back, most of my original packing material was missing, leaving the piece vulnerable. Resulting damage: Because of their careless packing, the inner wood liner of my custom, hand-finished frame sustained a full break. I hand-finished this frame myself to match the painting, and repairing it will cost $200 in labor and materials. I have extensive photographic documentation showing the poor packing job and the resulting damage. When I contacted Box & Ship to request reimbursement, their response was dismissive. Instead of taking accountability, they told me: "The California Art Club insures the Gold Medal. Not Box & Ship. Please contact Eire and take it up with them." This reply is unacceptable. Not only does it deflect accountability for their poor packing practices, but it also demonstrates a complete disregard for the artists whose work they are entrusted to protect. Whether or not the California Art Club maintains insurance on artworks exhibited, the fact remains that Box & Ship themselves caused the damage through careless handling. As an artist, this experience has been infuriating. I will never trust Eric and Box & Ship again, nor use their poor shipping services. Their negligence not only damaged my frame, but their dismissive attitude shows they do not value their customers or the responsibility of safeguarding important artworks. I strongly urge the California Art Club to reconsider its relationship with Box & Ship. By continuing to use this company, they risk not only their reputation, but damaging more artists' works and undermining their commitment to protecting the contributions of their artist members, which make all their exhibitions possible. For fellow artists: think twice before entrusting your artwork to Box & Ship in Pasadena, California. Based on my bad experience, they are very slow to ship artwork, apparently have too much work for them to handle in a respectable time frame, careless in their packing and refuse to take responsibility when their negligence causes damage.

THIS REVIEW IS FOR THE FRANCHISE OWNER NEVINE AND ABOUT HER ONLY. My experience with the other…read moreemployees here has been great and they have been very kind to me. Never in my life did I think I would ever write a review for a UPS store, but after my experience at this specific location it compelled me to write one. Mind you I rarely write bad reviews and I have a lot of patience, but the owner (Nevine) of this location was extremely rude to me when I was trying to speak to her about picking up a package. I missed my original delivery date for my package because it needed a signature and they proceeded to send my package for pick up at this location. I went to pick it up today, but my issue is my ID doesn't match the address and name on my package because of multiple different reasons. I had proof of the purchase, proof of the actual email from UPS with tracking, and multiple credit cards that showed the matching name - she still refused to hand my package over to me which I understand policies, but she wasn't offering me any solution to fix this issue except to call UPS or else she was going to ship the package back to the sender. While trying to explain to her my situation I was getting frustrated because her tone was very condescending, she kept raising her voice at me, and she kept cutting me off while she was repeating the same thing constantly. She also was telling me to have it shipped to my house - which I originally did, but unfortunately missed it - and then when I asked her if I would be able to pay for her to have it redelivered she said no. How is that not possible, but you're telling me to ship it to my house? I understand her trying to protect the package due to fraud nowadays, but on the official UPS page it states that if your last name and address don't match on your ID, you can show the UPS tracking alongside your identification regardless if it matches or not and you should be able to retrieve your package. This is from the OFFICIAL UPS WEBSITE and she continued to say "this is what they're telling me to do" and kept refusing to give me my package. Mind you these instructions that I found to follow are also on a link on the email from my tracking from UPS. She didn't even bother reading what I was showing her and continued to just keep raising her voice at me. She kept repeating herself that I need to show matching identification because there is "so much fraud nowadays" and "anybody can have an email" when I was trying to show her my proof. Which made no sense to me because shortly after she had a family member come in to handle what looked like paperwork to be shipped out and her family member who is not an employee was behind the counter. So you're telling me there's a lot of fraud nowadays, but it's okay for you to have someone who isn't an employee behind the counter? Make it make sense. On top of that - I know she was talking bad about me to her family member because when I left to try to contact UPS on the phone she said something to her family member when I walked away, and when I walked back in to speak to her again she said something again and then continued to give me a fake smile afterwards while saying something under her breath. Completely uncalled for and unprofessional. As much as she was clearly frustrated - so was I. Moving forward I'm going to call corporate as well to file a complaint because her customer service was ridiculous and I will avoid this UPS location by all means. I ended up resolving my issue with customer service, and completely understand the issue with my ID not matching, but my issue here was how she spoke to me and handled the situation in such a degrading way. Also, if you look at other bad reviews basically stating the same issues I had with her being rude and condescending - you can see the owner herself, Nevine, has replied back to multiple reviews still arguing. Says a lot about her character and it's unfortunate she's the owner of this franchise.
