I found this out because Macy's sent it back to me in a package that just arrived today, with a note saying that I attempted to return it to Macy's, which I did not. My package was clearly sealed and labeled, and had the printed slip on the inside. But now that I have the package back, it's too late to send back for a refund. I know there's nothing that can be done about it now, but I'm honestly confused as to how a package clearly labeled for returns to one major chain ended up sent through a completely different company's return system. And now I can't get that money back. The Pleasant Street staff are nice and I don't want to be *that* customer, but please do better in the future.

I needed a very important digital art project printed, and went to Paradise Copies upon a…read morerecommendation, and against my better judgment. It was a large format print job, 18" x 24", on canvas. Communication from the start was lacking in clarity. I initially waved a proof, because the designer there, that I initially spoke with, left me feeling like this wouldn't be an issue to print. When I went in a day later to get the finished piece, it was desaturated by 80%, then I unrolled it, and there was white hand prints all over it. The designer working on this took it back to try to figure out what the issue was. After a week of being condescended to and gaslit, as though the Tiff they were using was the issue, (it wasn't of course), we decided that this has gone on long enough and they'd try to print to glossy paper instead of canvas. The glossy proof looked fabulous. So it seemed like they turned a disaster around. Initially I was told by this designer, (Matt) that I wouldn't be charged for this redo and the multiple proofs. I was fine with paying for the proof of the glossy, but he said don't worry about it, and that I can have the proofs when I come in to pick of the final print. I go in today, September 17th, and the clerk hands me both the piece and the proofs, I go to walk away and she's like I have to pay for those. I said, it's already paid for from the $38.25 I paid for the botched job. They go into the office to speak with someone who wouldn't even get off their butt to speak to me themselves. The poor clerk couldn't articulate what the person in the office had to say. They told me that I could write my credit card number down, (yeah, no thanks), so that when Matt comes in they could sort this out. So I guess because I was starting to raise my voice, that person finally came out to speak to me. They were like I'd have to pay and additional $50 plus on top of what I already paid. I said that I'm not going to pay almost $100 for a botched job. I asked for a refund, and they said no, that I have to wait until they speak to the designer, even though the person I was speaking to was the one in charge. WTF!? So I repeatedly had to ask for my receipt back before the, I'm assuming, manager or owner finally handed it back to me. She was so indifferent to the situation, and acted like she didn't understand why I was making this her problem, when it f-ing is! This job was started on the 3rd of September, it's been two weeks of wasting my time, to still not get what I wanted, and now I'm out of almost $40. I've would've been fine with paying a little extra, like $10 or $20 more, but not for over $50!

We had an emergency mold situation in our unfinished basement The mold had caused my wife a major,…read moreincapacitating, asthma attack. Quality Cleaning & Restoration (QCR) undertook an extensive and 100% effective remediation project. They are not only totally professional, but they are more professional and available than any other tradespeople or company I've dealt with over decades in the Berkshires. As an example, part of the project called for the installation of an industrial strength dehumidifier, but six months after use, it became so noise that its rumbling could be heard throughout the whole house. It was impossible to live with. The dehumidifier company wanted us to ship it to them but it weights 65 pounds, and I recently had back surgery. I called Vlad (the QCR owner), and he sent a great technician named Alex to drive more than an hour out of the way to take the unit to Fedex for us. While here, we mentioned to Alex that even though the mold was gone, there was now a smell of decomposing matter. He actually crawled in a dark, earth floor space far inside the basement to try to identify the source of the problem. The area he crawled in was about 15 feet wide, 15 deep, and only 2 feet wide. Alex said the problem was decomposing leaves and holes in the stone wall that needed to be filled in. Then he went to a small, fenced in area behind the house and found that were lots of dead leaves and no gutter on that side of the roof. We found someone to solve those problems and now the smell is gone. In today's climate, when it's impossible to reach a human on the phone, whenever I had a problem and called QRC, if Vlad's office manager wasn't there, he'd pick up the phone himself. Early on, I asked him what his title was, and I was surprised to hear him say: "I'm the owner."

They were able to accommodate our changing needs as there were issues with the move-in date and were also willing to accommodate a move with very short notice. The movers themselves called to update us on the status of the move (as our agency was assisting an elderly client with the move) and did everything they could to ensure we were aware of how much extra work there was and how much extra stuff there was which could've left the client without a way to move the items on her own. But they made every effort to be as quick as possible in order to prevent that from happening. She had wildly underestimated how many of her belongings still needed to be packed and moved, and yet the movers managed to stay within the expected costs of the estimate originally given. All expected fees were listed on the estimate up front so there were no surprise added costs to the final bill.
