The ladies in the post office, were helpful and professionally pleasant. Better costumer service than the other branch.

I am so frustrated with the USPS and their delivery carriers. They have failed multiple times to deliver our companies payroll checks for which whom are employee's count on. For instance, if they do not see a car parked out side; which there isn't always one they drive right by without even checking the front door. On days we get our payroll which is delivered through the USPS we always leave the door wide open so they know someone is always here. I am so disappointed and frustrated. I just drop off packages and don't really have to deal with the customer service aspect since I print my labels from home. So keep that in mind while reading this review. Overall I'm pretty pleased with speed. Sometimes they send the packages straight to Sacramento without scanning but if it makes the packages get to my customers faster I'm not complaining! Some packages have taken longer to get scanned but overall I've had good experiences. I did notice that a lot of customers were asking to speak with the supervisor and having a hard time communicating with the cashiers but again my review is based on the shipping speed for my drop off packages. read more

Terrible service. They will not answer their phone ever. The employees said we never answer the phone, yikes! They replaced our community mailbox four days ago and still no keys for it who does that? I keep having to go to office because they won't answer the phone so I can see if keys are ready or if I have mail, they should pay for my gas. read more

Sheldon & Chaka are the best employees at this post office! They are so kind & polite & most of all very friendly! I have been coming here since 2000 & Sheldon has been working here. And after all these years, he's still the same! I just met Chaka but it's like we've known each other for so long. They are both compassionate & takes their time answering all customer's questions. Tried to get some information about a return request and it is physically impossible to speak to a person without going to the post office. If you call the local number it rings about 8 or 9 times and then disconnects. If you try to call the 800 number it is a soul crushing automated system that will not let you choose anything other than the choices they have set-up and there is no option to speak to a real person. It's very clear why everyone uses UPS or Fed-Ex over the post office, they could care less about customer service. read more

As a recent Central Valley convert (former Bay Area resident), one of my main necessities is to have a local post office nearby. New to the city of Manteca, finding the post office wasn't difficult. But since it's located in their downtown, I had a hard time following the mapQuest directions (note to self: one way streets!). When I arrived, it was around lunch time so parking was a challenge. There are 9 designated parking spaces on the street immediately in front of the building (5 are pull in spaces & 4 are parallel spaces, which require some level of skill & can be stressful during the rush hour). There is additional parking further down the street & in lots behind the neighboring shops. The front entrance has both a short staircase & an ADA compliant ramp. The building itself is older but I think it gives it character- plus it's well maintained. Moving on to the innards: once inside, I noticed how bright & airy it was, to the left the private mailbox rooms were filled with natural light. Walk through another set of double glass doors & you enter the main post office. The lobby is pretty quaint, with a small waiting area equipped with a wooden bench, a rack of storage supplies, & 3 cash registers. On the upside, 3 tall windows flood the room with natural light-- personally it makes waiting not so horrible. Lastly, my personal observations of the customer experience is that the clerks at the registers are polite. I wish I knew them by name, but I haven't memorized who is who yet. So far, I've requested for help with tracking down an envelope sent via certified mail - the first employee who helped me (older, white curly hair) couldn't find it, the next employee I spoke to (hours later) found it immediately. Another PO employee has took the time to check my packages for the correct date (I normally buy my postage via paypal & drop off at the counter). The only eyebrow raising incident I've encountered so far was one morning the ladies up front were discussing what time their break was & how they were upset about another co-worker who took too long to relieve them. It sure gave the folks in line something to chuckle about. So far, so good! I've enjoyed my trips to the post office & am glad to have this one so close. On the days (or nights) when I can't make it in time to catch them, I appreciate the drive through blue mailbox drop off on the side of the building. Pick up times are 9:00 am & 5:00 pm. read more

The carriers and sorters need to learn how to pay attention to detail. Informed delivery for my PO Box showed a piece of mail that was supposed to be delivered on December 17. This mail contained personally identifiable information that could yield identity theft. Mail was not in my box. Instead I constantly get other people's bank statements and other mail placed in my box all the time. The carriers for residential mail also place other's mail in my box after personally being told several times and even after placing a card with our names in the box. They don't seem to care. Will be reporting this to the postmaster general and inspector!!!! read more

This post office is AWFUL I have been calling every business day since January 7,2021 and the phone rings 10 times then you get a busy signal. There are three (that I know of) that have mail missing and our mail is all behind a locked gate . There is a thief in our postal system in Manteca and i for one would like to find him or her. There is no reason that in this length of time that they can not answer the phone. read more

I handed the blond lady at the counter 2 business envelopes of mail on July 6, 2020. To date, 7/25/2020 it has never been scanned for tracking. Our customer it was going to thinks we printed a shipping label and didn't mail it. The lady also appeared to be having a bad day. We were told to make sure all our mail is scanned. We were also told they are supposed to scan all the mail before sending it out and 3/4 of our tracking shows no scan from Manteca. Besides the two on July 6, 3 that have mailed from this location that have tracking scans aren't scanned by Manteca PO. It's getting very frustrating. I understand COVID causes delays. I can understand delays during COVID but this goes beyond delays. Some first class mail is taking up to 30 days to get to its destination. read more

This is a good post office but it's difficult to find a parking place around it. Thankfully, I live within 10 minutes' walking distance. At just past 8:30 in the morning, there was one person working up front and I had a Priority Mail envelope to retrieve, something that they wouldn't just leave Saturday at my apartment complex. She went looking for it right away and was friendly about it. She was distracted along the way by co-workers and took a bit of extra time. I don't know how they keep track of such packages anyway. It wasn't extremely inconvenient--past the package not being left in front of my second floor apartment door. We discussed that when she returned. She said that they're trying to be careful about leaving anything that can be seen. The only thing is that you can't see directly up to the second floor and my apartment is the last of the two, so no one passes mine. Plus, FedEx and UPS have left numerous packages. Still, it's good that they care not to give thieves a chance. Update 2016.12.26: I wonder about some of the carriers. One seemed to give me all the junk mail and that for former tenants of my apartment, but I got very little, including some mail from Volkswagen worth $1000, twice. I noticed that she had parked her truck back by the dumpster, but I had hoped that she was delivering a package to one of the buildings at the back of the apartment complex. read more

Small town Post Office with big city service. Totally impossible to reach the Office by phone. Lines are long as they only have one agent working at a time. At least every time I go there which is once every three weeks. Customer service agents have know customer service what's so ever, and quite frankly, I don't they care whether they do or not. I have a box there, I get everyone's mail but my own. I have tried to clear the issue up for six years no kidding. No one seems to care. Only reason why I have a box here is for mortgage purposes. Place needs fresh blood. And trying to go a little extra mile wouldn't hurt. read more

(Same Day Update!) The postal worker who walked by today, Friday, he who said he would check on my package... he actually just came back and dropped off my package! (Had to tell him, he's the reason my 1 star review now get a 4 star!) It begins... Delivery not on time. They do not answer they phone when you call... they actually put the phone off the line after I called 4 times in a row. The tracking notes are lies about not being able to access my front door around 4 pm Thursday.... when I was waiting here all day just to get the package. The very next day, Friday, they say they tried to deliver around 12pm, I was not here, so they lied saying they left a note... I can't find one anywhere. (Why is the mail delivered at such inconsistent times?!) So then around 1-2 pm, I see a postal worker walk by, though did not stop to deliver anything, so I asked about the package, was told he would check on it. Still nothing delivered. I still can't believe they put the phone off the hook when I called to locate my package... just answer the phone. read more

The mail carriers from this post office are terrible, I often don't receive my package's and at times don't even receive my mail that shows should have been delivered that day. Some days I don't even see a carrier on my street. Unbelievable!! They need to be retrained for sure. read more

Im not sure where they hire these carriers from. My usual carrier was great. Now I have one that is constantly on her phone. Delivers wrong mail, half the mail is delivered then about 15 minutes later she is back with the rest of the mail and still yapping on her phone. She does not put the flag down. I can't get in touch with anyone at the post office to talk to. They never answer the phone! I have many more complaints. But, why complain? Nothing will be done. My family just moved to Manteca and we have visited this location a few times. Requesting a new mailbox key, picking up held mail until the key arrived, and mailing out a small package. I would give zero starts if I could! Our delivery driver is the worst! We live at 1725 c Place and he gives us 1725 p ave mail all the time. Including important things live prescription medication. Luckily they are in the same boat as us because they receive our mail as well so we both walk over and deliver each other's mail. I have tried calling multiple times to let the post office know so that maybe this can be corrected but the wait times are always 40-60 minutes to talk to someone. I would think that the main part of a postal delivery person would be verifying that they are giving out the correct mail to the right address. read more

Standing in a long line. I tried to be prepared ahead of time. My Certified Return Receipt was not completed to the clerks Nancy specifications. My envelope was to small per Nancy? So I stood to the side to correct, as she helped the next customer. When she was done, she left without a word and left me standing next to her desk. This post office is poorly managed & understaffed. Lazy & not scanning packages as they go out as most everything I have shipped out here the past month shows it's still at the post office until it gets delivered. This laziness has also cost me money as my buyers have filed claims for the items taking so long to ship & showing they never left the post office. I paid extra to GUARANTEE an overnight delivery of an item for an address an hour away and my package somehow ended up in Arizona and wouldn't make it to me for THREE days. I was waiting on my package for more than 2weeks! When my package finally had an up date that it would be delivered 5/18 by 8pm I was every excited! I was off work when our mail lady was here, no package for me. A lot is going on right now I understand so I figured give it 2 more days. My tracking said and still does say in transit to Destination but no delivery date available, so I call the post office. My intent to ask them if I can just pick it up since people are incapable of doing their SIMPLE job. But the guy on the phone doesn't even let me finish talking before he ask for my tracking number. I give him my tacking number and he places me on hold. He tells me that my package was sent to the other post office in Manteca asks for my number so he can look into it more. A week goes by I never receive a call. So I call again, the new person I'm speaking with cuts me off mid sentence! Tells me my package was shipped back to Sacramento. I explain that my tracking says it's in Manteca and the previous worker I was speaking with said the same. He ask for my number so he can call me back after looking into it, absolutely NOT. Last time my call was never returned. He places me on hold gets back on the phone says that either the package was delivered to the wrong person or sent back to Sacramento because it was unable to deliver. It was definitely not delivered to the wrong person because my tracking would show a delivered status! I get no where after spending almost an hour on the phone. So I decided to write what I thought was a corporate office so I can speak to some in a higher position. But my email is answered by the same Manteca office! How are you going to direct my complaint to the office I am complaining about! My email response says basically they can't find my package it was sent from one office to the other and they don't have it at either location and I need to contact the sender. WHY should I contact the sender, the problem is clearly with the post office. You just admitted you "lost" the package! Or someone in your facility stole my package. I want someone held accountable for their actions, no one seems to care. I'm sure if it was your $300 package you stop responding with lazy responses and get down to fixing the problems! You're able to see who the last person is who scanned the item and they should be held accountable, if I stole 300 worth of merchandise from a store I would get in trouble yet the post offices only responds to me is oopsie we "lost" it WHAT A JOKE! read more

I love the people at the counter, always helpful and nice. This isn't about them. I schedule pick ups and the last 5 times times, so like the last month for me, they haven't been picked up. I have left SO MANY complaints and yet it still happens. Had the post master contact me finally and said they would have the carrier check my house every day for a package even if I didn't send in a request. That lasted about a week. Come to today. I sent in a pick up request yesterday and here we are-mail has already been delivered but my package is still on the porch. Tried calling the number, couldn't get a hold of a real person. Tried the Yelp number here, tried twice and nothing. So I can't even get a hold of the office to have them send out another person to come get it. The worst customer service in post offices! I will never go there again. All I needed was to send a package. Monica let me know I need to buy a roll of tape and label and have it ready before coming to counter. Okay no problem.... as I asked questions regarding shipping she hissed gasped. I asked her if she had a problem but she made an excuse. Then when I needed scissors to cut the tape I'm purchasing from them ( one little piece needed) she tells me I can't use scissors I need to poke a hole in the tape and that will help it. I agree with other's reviews. It is incomparable with their poor customer service! They dont answer phone at all! I wonder if they put their volume down so they have reasons not to hear the phone ringing! 1. They left my parcels to other apartment door 2. When they left a peach form then scheduled for redelivery they wont deliver at all; I went to the post office to find out what's going on they cannot locate my package; I signed up for an alert and the message reads "HAS BEEN DELIVERED" , i went out right away because I know for sure if they indeed deliver it it must be to (again) other door which I eventually confirmed they delivered yes BUT TO A WRONG DOOR! 3. They dont answer phone calls at all! 4. Christine is the only post office lady whom I can count on. Unfortunately she didnt came back since a month ago. The single star I gave this establishment for a rate is because of Christine, the only mailwoman who knows what excellent customer service really is. Our common mail box unit on the street was vandalized. Monday, about a week later, they replaced the whole unit. Our keys didn't fit in the new box. No warning, no instructions, and no contact number. I called the main office number and it rang for 5 minutes then the call dropped. I called again and after 5 minutes I got a recording that the voice mailbox was full and the call ended. This was at 4:00pm, and the office hours were til 5:00! When I was able to go to the main office, on Saturday, I talked with the counter person who could care less that they had not done anything to restart my service and told me that the satellite office on Industrial Dr. had my keys and mail. When I got there, I had to sign for my new keys, I was the first person to sign, of the 15÷ addresses served by that box! No one else on the block had received their mail yet and had no information about how to get their mail service restored! The only thing worse than poor service is no service at all! read more

I put down a request to change lock on the street mailbox three weeks ago and was told that it'll be done in two weeks and they'll call me. Three weeks later no call so I went back and they told me they were behind schedule. So I went back the following week to get my mail since I placed it on hold till the lock change was done. I was told to go to a different window and press the button on the wall. Did as they instructed waited five minute no answer.
