Getting ahold of this company isn't impossible, but it might as well should be since whoever answers the phone will have no answers for you. Apparently they can't locate my package but yesterday it was "they can't find a driver to deliver" then the day prior was she simply didn't know anything about the package, THEN apparently it's not at the Manteca location but literally it's been verified that it's at that location. Asking to talk to somebody who's in a higher up position is impossible. Once i know my package will be delivered, i'll delete or edit my review but so far there's no improvement and by reading these reviews, im starting to think this won't be resolved. read more

DC Logistics shut-down all Mountain Valley Express operations reportedly on July 7, 2026. Unfortunately they picked-up a shipment from me in Long Beach, CA on July 1, 2026 and were supposed to deliver the Pallet Load in Paso Robles on July 6, 2026. None of their phone numbers is answered by a person and all call regardless of Terminal Location goes to the same number as their Main Number. Any prompt followed results in a ring of 12 times, and a disconnect. Some of the Terminal Locations disconnect prior to ringing. Official complaint to DC Logistics also go un-answered. We've been a customer of Mountain Valley LTL since back when they were DC Logistics, and it's honestly shocking how far their service has declined. What used to be a reliable company has turned into one of the most frustrating carriers we've ever worked with. Communication is practically nonexistent. Emails to customer service go unanswered, and trying to get any kind of update is a waste of time. We've repeatedly asked for a manager's contact information and have been completely ignored every single time. It's clear there's no accountability or concern for customers. On top of that, delays have become constant. Shipments rarely arrive when promised, and no one seems to have any answers or urgency to resolve issues. When you do manage to get someone on the phone, the customer service is often rude and dismissive, as if they couldn't care less about the business they're losing. We've spent a significant amount of money shipping with them over the years, which makes this decline even more disappointing. Unfortunately, the level of service has gone completely downhill, and we can no longer rely on them. I have been working for 2 weeks to find my package that was routed through them by another carrier. I have spent a total of 4 hrs on the phone dealing with people who don't have the answers and each giving me different updates from it will be delivered tomorrow to we see you signed for this 2 weeks ago. I wish I had checked these reviews before spending the 4 hrs. I am tapping out now, and this company should as well. You should not be in business if your business is this bad. I am a small business owner, and I receive deliveries every couple of months through Mountain Vally Express. I have attempted to work with them for the better part of three years, and I have never (not once) received a delivery exactly as it was intended. Specially, I work out of a shared space and can only receive deliveries at specific days/times. MVE is aware of this and has an explicit note on my account that states that I require a call to set up delivery date/time. In 3 years, and countless orders, I have received a call to schedule my delivery exactly twice. Today I called their customer service line because tracking indicated that my delivery was arriving today, but once again I had not received a call to schedule the delivery. The first time I called I waited on hold on the customer service line before it automatically hung up on me, never speaking to a real person. The second time I called I spoke to someone who said he was going to connect with the dispatch team and let me know the estimated eta of my delivery today. Then he put me on hold for 30 minutes, at which point the system hung up on me again, without the cs agent ever coming. I tried calling again and once again sat on hold until the line disconnected. After a 4th attempt I spoke with a different agent who said she would call me back as soon as she had an eta from the driver. We'll see if I ever get that call. read more

This company turned what should have been a simple delivery into a months-long headache. For nearly two months, I had to chase basic information about my order and delivery schedule. I made repeated calls, spent endless time on hold, got hung up on, and received constant contradictory updates. One person would say delivery was scheduled, another would claim it was already out for delivery. It felt like nobody knew what was going on, or worse, nobody cared. They also attempted deliveries at times when no one was available, and on at least one occasion I cleared my day and waited, only to have no delivery and no courtesy call. When I followed up, they blamed a failed delivery on "snow," even though it had not snowed in the area for weeks. That excuse was insulting on top of everything else. When the delivery finally happened, it arrived more than two hours late, and the item was damaged, with marks consistent with being hit by forklift tines. To top it off, I understand they planned to charge the vendor storage fees even though their own delays and mismanagement created the need for storage in the first place. This was incompetence from start to finish: poor communication, failed scheduling, missed deliveries, and damaged goods. I would never use this company again, and I strongly recommend anyone considering them to choose another option unless you want to waste time, energy, and patience. read more

I wish we had gotten the driver's name today because he was FANTASTIC, courteous, friendly, and extremely helpful. I was worried about the delivery of my bathroom double-sink vanity but it arrived 100% intact. Driver went above-and-beyond, even helped my husband make room in the garage for the large pallet. Mountain Valley Express is easily one of the worst freight companies I've dealt with. They delivered a pallet to me with clear damage, which I photographed immediately after unwrapping it. I even paid for extra insurance. I filed a claim and provided all photos, and they still denied it, claiming the delivery was "clear" -- even though the damage was only visible after removing the wrap, like any normal freight delivery. Their customer service is nonexistent, their claim process is a joke, and paying for insurance apparently means nothing. Avoid this company if you value your shipments or your money. read more

The worst service ever. Contracted Mountain Valley through Unishippers to pick up and deliver in Phoenix. Booking made on Monday midday for pick up the next day ( gave them time ), Tuesday between 9-5. Never picked up the load and never reached out. Spent the whole next day on emails and trying to reach them on the phone. Finally got a rep who gave conflicting info, while my Unishippers rep reached someone else who confirmed it was scheduled for pick up. At the end of the day, I reach out, and they say it may not be picked up. I tell them that it's my last free day, and it must be picked up. Then I receive an email confirming the driver will pick up in 30 minutes. I wake up to the warehouse email saying my shipment was never picked up and I have to pay storage for every day it stays there. No one ever answers the phone or reads the urgent emails. I called the next day for an ETA, they have no idea where the driver is, and said they would reach out to them and get back to me. They did not reach back out to me. After two days of no show pickups and abysmal customer service where no one knows anything and everyone has empty promises of following up, I scheduled a pickup with Old Division Freight Line the next day with 0 issues. Yet another junk company that needs to be put out of business (the reviews are already a pretty good giveaway of their incompetence). I couldn't care less if these people have no jobs, but these entitled, self-righteous fools don't deserve to be in business. Period. Purchased a large floor mirror from Houzz (who apparently uses these people for delivery). I paid for shipping as well. Come delivery time, they don't deliver within the designated window, and nobody in their customer service department knows when they could deliver. Go figure. What's worse, they deliver whenever, and the driver refuses to bring the *very bulky* shipment up to the unit (this is a multi-residential condominium complex with an elevator). The shipment weighs 54 lbs. The fellow claims it only weighs 6 lbs, and that I should be able to lug it upstairs. He flatly refused to bring it up to my home, claiming that they are not allowed to come inside homes. What exactly did I pay delivery charges for, if they don't deliver bulky items to my home?? Called their customer service to see how they could help fix the issue caused at their end and the attitude continues... They simply hang up or tell you that the delivery is already made, so nothing can be done. This is the 'world-class' service they claim to offer. Clowns! I am hiring another independent tasker to assist with bringing the bulky mirror upstairs, but this is how service with them goes. You pay delivery charges to hire these entitled fools, and then you'd have to hire another tasker to finish the job. I cannot recommend this company. I'm a former long-haul truck driver who's now the inventory manager at a retail chain store. I know the ins and outs of the trucking industry and I have to say that Mountain Valley Express is the worst less-than-truckload (LTL) carrier I ever had the misfortune to deal with. They are consistently either early or late with our weekly scheduled automatic replenishment shipments and at least once a month manage to lose an entire pallet. They eventually find it, but often it's days later. This makes our store look bad when a customer's order is lost or can't be fulfilled on time due to lack of inventory. It's also very inconvenient for us because we don't always have the staff to deal with breaking down an incoming pallet when it arrives without notice. While LTL shipping has always been a bit of a wasteland, some companies still manage to stand out thanks to their sheer incompetence. MVE is one of those companies. I strongly urge anybody considering LTL shipping to look elsewhere. read more

Whatever their prices are, be prepared for complaints. On day 1, the dock loaded the wrong truck with my shipment. They offered to come back the next day with the correct truck. They tell me this 1 hour and 45 minutes into a 2 hour delivery window. Next day, I'm here 20 minutes after the window of delivery. I call dispatch and the driver went on lunch. So... they (meaning the company, not a dock worker, and not a driver) now schedule deliveries in the middle of someone's lunch hour, then make you wait until whenever the guy gets done eating. After reading several negative posts I was nervous if I was going to received the large leaner mirror I ordered for my daughter in one piece. But I have to say that from the voice message I received from Julie wanting to schedule the delivery & me calling back scheduling a 12:00pm - 3:00pm delivery their were no issues. I asked if the driver could call me prior to him heading to my address & Julie said not a problem. I received that call from Armando at 12:30pm stating that he would be at the place of delivery in 20 minutes. When he arrived he was very friendly & took extreme care unloading this mirror out of his large van truck. Had this company do a shipment and they missed the first scheduled date "shipment still needs to be unloaded" after that they said it will be here on a Monday. Then on Monday they said Tuesday. Then they said it will be here on Thursday and will call to make an appointment on Wednesday and no one calls. And now onto next week, Tuesday the appointment is scheduled, I called for updates 3-4 times and they said they will get back to me. And at the end of the scheduled time i called again and they said the driver said it's too heavy and unsafe to deliver. Absolutely the worst company to deal with. I have purchased patio furniture from Ohana and they use this company for delivery. Both times they were no show after giving you a four m/hour time slot. No phone calls and when you brave the 30 minute waits to speak to them, they lie and tell you that they will be there. Next day, still no call. Supervisors don't call back. Gave MVE a 1 star because it wont let me pick 0. We usually schedule our own LTL. But, our customer want's to use GlobalTranz as a 3rd party scheduler. They Scheduled MVE to pick up on Wednesday July 7th by 5pm. MVE did not pick up until 5:45pm, on Friday July 9th. And, only after having to make multiple calls to find out where they were. The shipment wasn't going far, it could have been delivered on Monday, as was noted on the BOL because of the late pick up. But MVE failed again!!! Now we are waiting on the shipment to show up so we can start the job. MVE is a waste of time and money... PS. the only person I could get in contact Friday afternoon at MVE was the IT department. read more

I've been trying to get a hold of someone from the Manteca & Corporate locations all day. Automated answering system will transfer to customer service but never actually reach anyone. It routes all calls to a full voicemail box and then proceeds to hang up the call, after a 5 - 7 minute wait time. Have tried twice every hour since 8am & now it's close to 3pm. If this is what they call customer service, I'd hate to see what they consider bad service. All in all, they have been in procession of my order since yesterday, they haven't reached out to schedule a delivery and I can't get through to them. OMG!!! I agree with all the other 1 start reviewers. This is by far the worst shipping company I have ever had to deal with. I paid for 1 day shipping and have cleared my calendar every day this week expecting a delivery. We are now on day 5 and after 'guaranteeing' they would deliver today I was just informed that they can't locate the item. This is after being informed that it was loaded onto a truck this morning. How can companies this bad be allowed to operate with impunity? Unfortunately as consumers, we are at the mercy of our vendors and the shipping brokers they have relationships with and therefore have no control over the incompetent shippers they pick. Worst customer service and drivers ever!!! MVE/GLS is the main delivery company one of my distributors has use for over the years. They were top notch pre-Covid. Their quality of customer service has slowly gotten worse to the point that we are doing what we can to have a different company provide service. Over the last couple of years, we had pallets of equipment and parts that were shrink wrapped together and to the pallet to find boxes missing. That is when our distributor recommended cutting open the shrink wrapped and count the boxes on the shipping label. Since then, we found two times we were shorted boxes. Note: if we didn't count the boxes and were short, we would be charge for the shorted packages. Earlier this year, we had a new driver who was new to driving but big on attitude. She would complain that we would count boxes while she waited. A few deliveries later, she stated the her dispatch will not allow her to unload without signing first. So we agreed and she moved the pallet to the back of the trailer when we noticed that 6 boxes with forklift punctured holes. We told her to make a new of the damaged boxes when she accused my employees of doing the damaged. We questioned her how we could have done it if we were not allowed to even unload it yet. She didn't know but continue to state the holes were not there previously. We call customer service and left phone messages again regarding this. The final straw was last week. We had a large delivery and the same driver right away hopped out of her truck and told us we had to sign the receive document before she even opens the door to the trailer as ordered by her dispatch. I told her we are not signing for anything without seeing what is being delivered. She yelled at us that we had to or she will leave. I told her to leave then my business partner tried to talk to her and calm her down. She finally opened the door and brought the pallet to the back of the truck. 4 of 21 boxes were damaged. Once again I called Mountain Valley Express Manteca to complain. They later transfer my call to another hub where in left another voicemail and requested a call back. I never received a call back or email. That is why I am writing this Yelp review. Hopefully someone from GLS/MVE who cares about customer service will read this and try to resolve their issues so customers who use their services will receive better treatment and respect especially with the high price of delivery services nowadays due to high fuel and labor cost read more

In the 40+ years in business I have NEVER seen a company as blatantly worthless as this one. I shipped a tool from Indiana to Edwards Air Force Base on April 16 and my standard carrier I use here didn't go that far, they transferred it to these idiots. I had to get hold of the damn VP of our local truckline here (I won't list their name, they are a great company and I don't want them involved because they fought tooth and nail for me as well) and threaten a lawsuit to get them to deliver the tool on May 26th. It was sitting on their dock and every day they said it went out for delivery and it never got there. No one would answer the phone, dispatch would just say "it is going on the truck tomorrow" and hang up, and for a month they did nothing. I never leave reviews like this, but as an owner of a business I can not for the life of me see how they are even keeping their doors open. 6/12/21 update on Mountain Valley Excuse Actually not a great name as they don't even bother to call when they blow off an appointment. When you call, and wait, and speak to someone the response is always "gee, it's here, I don't know why they didn't put it on the truck. Care to schedule another appointment?" Seriously, it pass the point of incompetence when they say (at 3 pm) "we'll deliver it by 5" and then don't show. I'm up to 5 missed promises at this point. The vendor seems to have little influence. It looks ALMOST criminal. I have a project which is on hold for this item. Unbelievably bad. Original I got a tracking number and even a call to schedule delivery between 9-2. No show, no call. I call the first number and wait, then get transferred to another and wait. Reschedule for Thursday between 10-1. Again no show. Called the vendor to complain and now they're supposed to deliver by 5 tonight, trouble is I don't have time to uncrate this afternoon so it'll have to sit in my driveway all night. Very very bad customer service! I had scheduled a delivery window from 11am-2pm. Of course they did not make it. I called customer service at 3:30 pm and she told me, "The driver is on the way. He should be there anytime." So I waited, and waited, and waited. Nothing. I called back at 6:30 pm and the customer service told me that the driver was sent back for pickups. I would have to wait until Monday to schedule a new pickup!!! (Today is Friday) VERY unacceptable!!! These people do not value your time. They are a joke! To tell me they are on the way and should be here anytime and still nothing, just piss poor customer service. If you can, avoid this shipper at all cost!!!! read more

We have used Mountain Valley Express for years which is now GLS Freight. I don't agree with many of the reviews since they are pretty good about picking up products and delivering in an adequate time frame but please beware that if you ship with this company and any product is damaged in route, they will not compensate you for the damaged product with the exception of maybe seventeen cents per pound if they find they were at fault. They have lost me over one thousand dollars this year. They were better before they were purchased by GLS because they didn't damage as much product. read more

Having never worked with this company before I am in hopes the company reads this as they have a great employee representing their company.
