This is the VERY worst poorly run post office in the city of LA! They're all treated like…read moredecomposing facilities with never any upgrades but this one always has only 1.5 employees working the windows and no matter what time of day the line is 15 people deep. I've had my PO Box here for 30+ years! There has NEVER been a self-serve kiosk available here which could significantly reduce the line. No dedicated PO Box staff which could help the line if they did. Consistently poor service for more than 25 years! Start all over!!

The woman working there was rude and dismissive from the beginning. I asked for a receipt after dropping off my already labeled package and she told me they "don't give receipts there." When I mentioned other USPS locations do, she responded with attitude and told me to "go back there then." What made it worse was she refused to even scan my package or place it somewhere secure. She told me to leave it in a clear box near the front. I politely asked if she could scan it and place it in the back so it wouldn't get taken, and she refused saying, "No one will take your package." Completely unprofessional customer service and a very uncomfortable experience for something that should've taken less than a minute. After looking online, it seems many other people have had similar issues at this location. USPS seriously needs to address the customer service here.

They go by the clock that is in there which is a different time. So keep this in mind when going around lunch or closing time.

Meanwhile there is 3 customers in line and 2 employees at the counter tending to customers. I got off work early just to get there to send off a certified check that required a dated post mark and priority tracking. Nothing difficult, typically a 2-3 minute transaction and move on. So I went down the street to UPS store and had to pay a premium. Look, I'm not outta bounds here when I remind people that USPS isn't some independent retailer in our communities providing shipping services. They are a GOVERNMENT agency that should follow the basic rules of morals and ethics. At a minimum provide a "SERVICE" within there hours of operation!!! Is that too much to ask for? BTW i was only one of a half dozen customers being turned away and most of them let them know they were not thrilled about it!!! Shame on the mid 40's looking gentleman who identified himself as the supervisor for being disrespectful to those elderly women who were refused service that afternoon.

I honestly do not know if it can ever get much higher than 3 stars because the overall system feels broken. The young lady working the counter was very nice. She had a good attitude, a smile, and did her best to help me. The issue was not her. I came to pick up a package that had this address on it, but the package was not there. She told me where it was supposed to be picked up and gave me the information she had. The bigger problem is the postal system itself. It is hard to figure out where things go and what you are supposed to do. Trying to track down mail and packages can be really difficult. So while the person helping me was kind, the overall experience was frustrating. I am giving the post office on Vermont 3 stars.

Staff like her should be promoted so she can assist with training the others (see below). As for the other two postal clerks working the same shift (whose names I wish I'd noted--one may have been "Clerk 29"), they get **ZERO** stars. They were rude and snapped at me when I explained that the USPS online system indicated that postal staff would print the required form at the post office if I couldn't print it myself (not sure why a printout is required anyway given that my information was in the USPS online system, but that's a rant for another time). They also snapped at me because one of the documents I was presenting was not acceptable. The overall interaction felt hostile, like they were looking for a fight rather than helping a customer. I have empathy for employees who are tired and ready to clock out. But when this kind of behavior happens, it creates an unsafe environment for everyone. After working several government-level jobs, I also know that many employees stay in roles they don't enjoy because it's hard to leave (limited alternatives), and/or because union protections can make it difficult to hold people accountable--even when performance is not at the level it should be. And now, after reading some of the other reviews about this specific post office, I guess I'll be worrying about my mail getting stolen! :D The above interactions took place on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 between 4-5pm.
