IT'S THE COMB-OVER GUY! This guy alone may be why the post office is going under. If no one sets a standard, his behavior goes on forever. He assures each and every customer that their mail will be returned, or broken, or lost. Why has he no confidence in his work, or the work of the U.S. Post Office? Where is his supervisor? I also drive to Santee to avoid this office. Such a bad experience every time I have to deal with him. Everyone I have ever dealt with at the Lakeside Post Office has been efficient and capable. Unfortunately for the past week it does not seem that my current mail deliverer is capable of making sure my mailbox is closed after they deposit my mail. I can easily close the mailbox so I am not sure why I have found it open the past week after mail has been delivered. I would have posted this directly to the Lakeside Postmaster but could not figure out how to do that. I will be putting a note on the inside of the mailbox door asking that an attempt is made to be sure it is closed. read more

I give them 3 stars because I know they are small and the people there are trying. Unfortunately, after living here two years I realized how sad this little place is and how inefficient things are here after going to Santee. As an employee of the federal government, I get that they probably don't get the resources necessary to run effectively, but it's hard to go through here. worst customer service ever!! went to get my passport, when I got there the guy told me he would be right with me and to have by birth certificate on hand, I drove all the way back home to get it, then back to the office, was told by a very rude woman that she wouldn't help me that I needed at appointment. I said well I talked to the guy over there 20 mins ago and he said nothing about needing a appointment. she further wouldn't help me make a appointment and made some guy do it. he wouldnt make me a appointment either. said if its over 2 weeks out then I have to call some number!?!?!?! Never in my years of living in Lakeside Appox. 17 yrs. have I had a pleasant experience in this Post Office. Slow, rude, not very smart, never can find a pkg., you call they don't answer, or they pick up after 20 rings and hang it up. Please, just because we are a small town, we still deserve some, experienced and capable workers. read more

The "Comb-Over Guy"(look for the scowling gentlemen with glasses and a horrible attitude, usually in the corner where he belongs) is a great example of why postal employees go postal. If I had to work with this guy I would want to go on a rampage too. This guy goes above and beyond to ensure each and every customer that their mail will either be destroyed in the shipping process or returned. Imagine if a non-government ran business did this. They would not only be bankrupt, thanks to the Comb-Over Guy, but they would have closed their doors decades ago. The Lakeside post office needs to fire this guy or pray that some customer fires at this guy. I will make the drive out to Carmel Valley, from Lakeside, in order to avoid this post office(it is actually shorter in the long run). Worst post office ever, mail takes forever to get to anyone or it gets lost. Mail delivered to my house is often partically opened as if they are looking for a check. Just terrible. If you want your mail to get somewhere don't send it from there. read more

I had it with this jerk of a man that works there! I told him off for the last time! Told him to retire if his job is that miserable! I cannot even go to this local post office any more because of him. I drive out to El Cajon, where they are much nicer and not afraid to crack a smile. This man, like others say, is ALWAYS there at the Lakeside location. He will make life difficult for you and find a way to inconvenience you and tell you that he cannot mail your package the way you wrapped it or whatever. He loves to make life difficult because he apparently is miserable! Avoid him if you can! read more

The dumb ass that delivers packages to military housing ER needs to be fired. He's rude and when you have to sign for a package he doesn't ring the doorbell or knock he just leaves the slip in the door. Hmmm hello I've been waiting all day on my important package! Cashier #9 has always been rude to me since I've been going to this post office. I now drive to Santee for all my postal needs.

I've never been to the Lakeside Post Office, but I had a package at their facility that was marked as 'Undeliverable As Addressed'. I sold something on eBay, but the buyer didn't include their apartment number, so it couldn't be delivered. So I called and spoke to Susie and she could not have been more helpful. She wasn't able to locate the package at the post office, so she called the driver to see if it was back on the truck for a second attempt at delivery. The driver didn't answer the call, so she took down all of the information including the correct apartment number and said she would let me know what she finds out. About 20 minutes later she calls and tells me that the driver has the package and would deliver it to the correct address. I feel like the Lakeside Post Office and in particular Susie went above and beyond to make this situation right. Five stars in my book! read more

I live where we have a central box and pickup our mail. I buy a lot of things on the internet for convenience. They put the big items in the big box but had a problem when one box was too big for the big mailbox. The mailman took my large item back to the PO but didn't leave a pickup notice. Then a couple weeks later when I was out of town they left a final notice. The package was sent back to sender. I have two gripes. Why are they so lazy that they can't drive 200 feet and drop off my box? And not sure whether not leaving a notice is stupid or lazy? read more

Usually I don't go out of my way to write a review but this is the second time i've gotten horrible service from this particular post office delivery. Im not sure if the Delivery person was having a bad day, or just being plain lazy about delivering my package today but i found it on top of my trash can by the street where their is busy traffic and students walking back and forth from school. If i had not found my package when i did it could have been stolen or worse mistaken for trash! This was the second time my merchandise that i worked very hard to pay for was being mis treated and not delivered properly. The first Time i had ordered some very expensive kitchen supplies and they delivered it not at my door or anywhere close to it but by the busy street where it could have been stolen. I also tried to make a customer complaint on the phone but of course after waiting over an hour with no one to answer i almost thought about going down to the post office when i tried one last attempt to call again. i finally got a hold of someone and she was very simpithetic to my situation but i hope this delivery person who is responsible for handling other peoples hard earned merchandise will be given a talk to and consider to be a little more respectful nextime by atleast dropping it off by the front door. read more
