I've been calling them for the last week and a half to get information to see if they're any of my and they never answer the phone. It doesn't matter what time of day it is early in the morning when they when they close, they never answered their phones. This is a Usps. They should be having someone answering phones for customers. It's ridiculous and I wish this wasn't my post office that I had to go to. read more

If I could give it zero I would. Every time you go there's a line and 1 person slowly working, if you pull up and see 2 cars in the parking lot expect to wait 20+ minutes. This past Christmas I shipped a box to Florida from this post office - cost over 100 dollars. Estimated arrival time on the late end of the window was going to be the day after I landed there to visit family, this was shipped 2 weeks prior to the trip. 2 days after I land, my package does not arrive. Tracking tells me it's in the local Florida office - I go there, it's not. To make a long story short, lots of calls are placed. The day I leave Florida the tracking tells me that it's back in Providence, headed to Johnston. The morning after my flight gets in I go to this branch, wait 25 minutes in a line and learn that THEY CANT FIND MY PACKAGE. I request to speak to the supervisor, they tell me they'll call me. 5 hours later they tell me they located the package, then admit it was their error with box labels that resulted in my package failing to arrive. I retrieve my box and request a refund, since I paid postage to have something delivered to Florida and I am standing in the same place I sent them out of 2 weeks prior holding my item - they tell me they don't do refunds, so in this instance they essentially stole my money since I paid for a service that wasn't rendered and ruined a family holiday celebration. Unless you need to use the post office - go ANYWHERE else - carrier pigeons are faster and more competent. read more

The service that you get this post office is horrible because nobody will ever give you the correct answer. You can ask the same person the same question three times and you will get four different answers. It makes no sense. It has to be the most confusing post office across the United States. read more

In October of 2025 I reported to USPS that the lock on my community mailbox wouldn't open, and that I'd spent a WEEK attempting to call the Johnston office, where no one answers and your calls get automatically disconnected. This complaint eventually made it to the Johnston office, to which they immediately stopped delivering my mail and attempted to extort a $35 "lost key" fee out of me (key is not lost) before they would replace THEIR BROKEN LOCK. After filing more complaints through the USPS web site, I eventually got a call from the Johnston PO, and they arranged for a "supervisor," and the carrier, to meet me to "examine" the lock. On December 3rd, I met with the carrier and supposed supervisor and they confirmed the lock was frozen and not a lost key issue (uh, DUH). That same day I was called again by the Johnston PO, where they "assured" me that they would replace the lock, at no charge to me (ah, gee.. thanks /s), put a "Rush" order in for the repair, and bring me my mail they were holding. Again, that was on DECEMBER 03, 2025. Today is DECEMBER 30, 2025. I have not heard a word from the Johnston office. Nothing. No phone call. No E-mail. Zip. Zilch. Nada. **crickets**. Now here's the real kicker... I am a disabled vet and I receive all of my VA medications/prescriptions via USPS. I have not received ANY of my medications during this time. I normally get a notification from the VA when a script has been shipped, but shortly after this issue began those notifications stopped. Apparently my meds are being returned to the VA as undeliverable, and, due to this, the VA has automatically discontinued my scripts. This entire debacle has been going on for nearly 3 months now. THREE MONTHS! This isn't the first time I've had issues with Johnston (see my 2020 review). The Johnston post office is not only lazy and incompetent, it is corrupt. It's time for me to get a *bleeping* lawyer! read more

I bought in a large envelope with a beautiful water painting I had done for my son who lives in California it's a Christmas gift. I asked the woman to weigh it and that I had my own stamps I even put a extra one to make sure it would be enough. She charged me for the envelope then she took my package and put it to the side on the counter and then called the next person in line so I took my package and I was looking around for where I should put it a man working on one of their machine's told me where to drop it and now it's gone my son never received it. I am absolutely heartbroken they lost something that was very special. read more

Mi correo lo detuvieron por 3 meses yo vivo en north providence y el cartero que tenia que entregar mis cartas era un blanco de mala actitud y aspecto repugnante . Mentia acerca de mi casa regresaba mis cartas con la mentira que mi buzón siempre estaba lleno y la verdad siempre lo tenia vacio se me hacia raro porque no recia cartas hasta que un documento importante no llego y fui a la oficina que correspondía segun el correo principal . Y reclame un documento importante nunca recivido y me dijeron que mi buzon siempre estaba lleno segun las palabras del cartero sin investigar lo que ese hombre decia . Yo me atrevi a mencionar cual era el problema porque ese cartero en particular no me entregaba mis cartas y cada que pasaba por mi casa se pasaba de largo hasta grabaciones donde yo probaba lo que decia. Aquella mujer en la oficina postar no queria aceptar lo que yo reclamaba y me grito to que no hacen entrega de mis cartas por la razon de que el cartero menciono y aunque aquel hombre de raza blanca mentia ella afirmo que ese hombre estaba protegido por la cooperativa que protege a trabajadores de todo despido y no le pueden decir nada. Yo reclama mis cartas y queria dejar claro que aquel cartero era mentirozo por alguna razon que yo no comprendía ya que nunca me respondio cuando trate de hablarle llegue a pensar que no le gustaba hacer su trabajo a latinos y lo mencione . Aquella mujer de apariencia blanca robusta empezo a gritarme largate de aqui o te llamo a la policia en aquella linea habia otra seńora de pelo pintado amarillo un hombre de gordo blanco y una anciana se juntaron a favor de la trabajadora de aquella oficina y me gritaron todos fuera de aqui era increible lo que vivi aquella tarde por reclamar mis cartas y aclarar que aquel hombre cartero era mentirozo y racista fue como si le hubiese rociado picante esa gente se junto y me atacaron juntos . El racismo en este pais es real y le pasa diariamente a muchos latinos y morenos las personas de decencia inmigrante europea se olvidan que tambien provienen de un lugar totalmente lejos de america pero se sienten que merecen este pais del continente americano mas que a nosotros latinos americanos y morenos . Places is a complete joke everybody that works there is completely lazy and useless. Pretty much what you would expect from government workers. They do not answer the phone no matter how many times you call. When you show up, they are angry to see you. They changed my key to my mailbox without any explanation. I had to drive two towns over to pick it up. read more

This has to be the worst post office- Sign says it opens at 8am- Well at 8:15 its still close- You would think someone being a employee would say something to the nearly 10 people in line waiting. One of my packages was delivered to the wrong parcel box(our complex has a cluster box for packages. I let the post office know online and later Got a call at work stating the package was found and put in my box. When I opened the P.O. Box there was my package with a little note stating what box it was in and that they were sorry. I really appreciate the leg work -- I bought a lot of sweaters on sale for fall and would have been bummed if this package was lost. read more

I have a love/hate relationship for this location. Anyone who has been to any post office I'm pretty sure feels this way towards each location. But this location right here is ALWAYS crowded and always has a line out the door, okay so why am I rating it 4 stars? I love the people who work here. They're great. Even with a long line they manage to accommodate and help each customer and smile. There's an older man at this location he's my favorite he's wry friendly and is always trying to give advice since I do ship very much. It's always smiles here. The only downfall is no matter what time it is this place is packed, but I never really wait in line too long it moves pretty fast. They also have a self service kiosk at this location as well to make things a little bit easier. This place is also very clean which I enjoy very much. This has to be my favorite USPS location, they do need more workers though. read more

Johnston is a strong contender for the worst Post Office in Rhode Island. There's a phone number but don't even try to call it as apparently the employees are unaware of the existence of said phone number. Expect any type of transaction to take at least 3X longer than you predict because there is never enough people manning the desk to deal with the traffic. If you're fortunate enough to live in Johnston and have to wait for the mail, expect it to take at least a day or two longer to get to you than you think. I'll end my review with this; if I have to call a post office in Scituate to try to get a hold of this station, maybe the organization should start thinking about cleaning house...but they probably won't. read more

Johnston Post Office called me yesterday for what I am assuming was an update on a missing package that they lost. Instead of leaving a message with an update, on my voicemail I heard background noise and typing and they finally hung up. Now the chase is on to try to get information from them! Don't even waste your time trying to call this location. They do not answer the phones. I have called many times in the past and no one answers, and just today I called three times in a row and someone picks up the phone and hangs up on me. I guess you don't have to worry about providing GOOD customer service when you're a government employee.. Aside from difficulty in contacting this post office, the fact remains that they cannot be trusted to handle packages properly. My package was transferred to the Johnston location from their warehouse in MA and once it was in their hands they lost it. According to USPS customer service it was never 'scanned in'. Now it is two weeks later and still not scanned and I do not have my package. Unfortunately for me the package contains a check order so if it doesn't show up I now have to close my bank account and re-route all of my direct deposits and recurring payments. I have no way of knowing that an employee there didn't steal them and cannot take any chances.. I'm sure they could case less they inconvenience they have caused. I do not know who is responsible for overseeing local facilities, but this place needs to be investigated for the horrible service they provide. read more

I haven't been in too many post offices but this one is small.woonsocket post office is double the size with at least 3 people working the counter and a city half the size...the Johnston location your lucky to have 2 people working the counter so it might take awhile in line. Normally staff is friendly but the last time I was there there was 1 older lady working the counter and she was very upset that it was 5pm and people were still coming in.she kept snapping at the people saying the post office is closed and shaking her head.if it bothered her that much they should have somebody locking the doors and turning people away instead of snapping at them and not concentrating on the customer in front of her. Maybe she was having a bad day who knows. read more

Really, I hate going into Johnston. Just walking into the place the clientele made me want to tear my hair out. An old man was screaming about his mail not being held, someone else was upset about the price of stamps. I was assuming this would be another bad post office experience. I filled out my certified mail slip and the gentleman behind the counter was speedy in explaining what it meant and when it would get there. Everyone left the post office with angry situations diffused and in 5 minutes or less. THe also have a kiosk of mailers and packages that are decorated as to not have to wrap items, a self service kiosk (that does sell postage, btw), and a large roomy area to do this all in. read more

I went to this one a week ago on SAt. I have to say the man behind the counter was very patient . There was a guy there who was at the wrong location and couldn't speak English very well. He was very nice and moved people pretty well. I like this one so much better the the one in Warwick on Post rd. No matter when you go, there is always a long line. I was there at 4;00 pm the other nite. One man on and people out to door. Then another came back from in the back. It moved better then. read more

This place is terrible. The workers at the desk take 10-15 min to help one customer buy stamps even though at least 8 people were waiting in line for help. Also, the woman basically told the customer she was high from her medication. My mail delivery person plays hide a box with my packages. They have put boxes under my drain spout while it was raining, thus the box was ruined from water. read more

I lost my tracking number for my mom's retirement gift. All I knew was she hadn't received the package and it was 2 days late. Her retirement is tomorrow!! I went in to the post office in the morning and spoke to Jamie and Anne. Both were super kind and helpful. It was beginning to get busy so I had to leave, but came back at my lunch break to check one last time. Jamie had done a ton of research and found my package! I made its way to Georgia and was waiting for my mom to pick it up. I know that they're both really busy, but they took the time to help me out. Be nice to these two! They are real gems and went the extra mileto help me out. I will NEVER lose my tracking number again! read more

This office runs like a joke , the mail woman never delivered my package yet it said delivered on their website as it has a tracking number , then I opened a case by calling 800 number so the response was package found and it is at office / customer was contacted and notified. I never was notified and never was contacted , and the package was never found at office . I oped a high file case with 800 number then they called me to say we are sorry .. That is all they had to say , your package is lost ... so they delivered to the wrong address or never delivered then they lied to the system by responding to my 800 inquiry that the item was found and it is available for pick up at office , then they lied what they entered in system that the customer was called and notified that the item was found. after all, all I got in response " we are sorry " . the missing item was irreplaceable and the only one existing that contained personal and medical data .. read more

I am so tired of trying to resolve my issue with these people. I have a belligerent driver who purposefully leaves my mail in the box with the door open while it's pouring and the mail gets all wet. So we put in a new box so now he doesn't like that there's landscaping around it. Says it's too far out, gave the landscaper a hard time about it. The landscaper moved the landscaping back quite a bit and still this guy won't deliver my mail. Now I directed the landscaper how far back to go because I KNOW THE RULES! I WAS A RURAL ROUTE DRIVER! THIS GUY IS JUST BEING A JERK! I went in and asked for the manager to call me because you cannot call in - the phone lines do not allow you to reach anyone. So she calls me and had to leave me a message and what does she do - she leaves me the number by which she cannot be reached. And the message didn't even match up to my complaint! She said something about a basketball hoop - I don't have one! Not 1/2 of a brain between any of them! read more
