I've been getting a lot of projects done at this Staples Print Center for gift giving and client events. The turnaround time is always quick and they have never missed a deadline yet. Staff usually can answer questions that arise when trying to figure out the best product to order. Lately I have had posters made and a hardcover photo book. All came out great. I suggest signing up for a free Staples rewards account and downloading the app. I racked up a lot of points and got access to some money saving coupons for my larger projects. Providence Staples Print Center has the worse customer service I have ever experienced. Staff in Providence ignore customers while they scroll on the phones and acxt like you interrupted their social media views. They quoted a scan project at $2/page!@ Who turns away business by quoting a ridiculous price? Staples employees. The company is gping to the dogs and the reviews demonstrate my review is not the exception. You can buy your own scanners on amazon for less money than their print jobs. read more

This Staples location could use some TLC. I'm a frequent flier here to use the printing services, & it's never an easy errand. The whole print service section is wicked confusing & inefficient. You can never really tell who is in line, who is waiting for a machine, who is waiting for mail services, who is waiting for something else... At least 2 of the self-service printing machines are out of order at any given time. Sometimes the pre-authorization doesn't work on the machines, requiring staff assistance to get your project started. One time I spent $20 or so on a print project, only to realize when I got home that it all came out blurry. (Partly my fault for not checking the product while I was there.) The staff is generally pretty helpful, although a few times I was waiting at the counter & I SWEAR I was being ignored on purpose. At chain stores like these, if/when the employees are being miserable, my mind immediately goes to blame management/pay rather than the miserable employees themselves. I'll still continue to come back to this location until I give up & buy myself a printer so that I can just print at home. I just hope to see some changes in the whole operation. read more

The employees at this location were very nice!!! However, I would strongly suggest you do not get passport photos here. I got printed and digital passport photos and they were not US government compliant because the image was too dark. (And due to out of town travel, I was not able to return to Staples to retake the pictures.) Total waste of money unfortunately. I would strongly suggest you do not passport photos here. read more

Came here for my TSA pre check and the girl that was assisting me was super rude and was scrolling her phone for the entire time I was in there. The process overall took less than 5 minutes. It's sad that kids these days can't stay off their phone for even that long. The layout of the Staples stores is usually streamlined and sparse. I went to get some ink cartridges and I could not find the one I was looking for. One of the staff told me they could order online and get it to me or to the store in 2-3 days. Too late. I needed it then. I guess inventory is always a problem when you are in retail and sometimes the less demand for an item means that they may not have it, but it's frustrating when you depend on a store to deliver and you come out empty handed. read more

Who Woulda thought we'd be writing reviews about Staples, it's definitely a different world. This location is my go-to if I need supplies immediately. The shelves are always stocked. The management team are courteous friendly and willing to help. The friend and register help always have a smile and ready to assist. I did have one bad experience oh, and it was pretty bad. It was during the middle of the pandemic and I was picking up business cards. I had been standing in line for 17 minutes... yes I counted. I was the third person in line, including the person that the desk that was already speaking to the associate. After 17 minutes and multiple people coming in and out, cutting the line, not adhering to the six foot rule as it was earlier in the pandemic... I was at the tipping point. Most people were cutting the line because they needed to use the FedEx or UPS service. I have no problem with that however, it happened multiple times, and there was only one person working. So every single time that somebody would come through with a package he would stop helping the person at the desk and move over to the shipping area. Easily taking 4mins a person. After helping the person at the counter and the person in front of me I was standing at the front of the line, patiently waiting still with a smile on my face. That's when two people walked in through the front door past the line and up to the desk completely overlooking where I in the other people had been standing. One gentleman had a carriage double the height of the carriage full of brown packages needing to be checked in. The associate was about to take him. I walked up to the counter and said I'm so sorry but I'd appreciate if you'd take us next and if you keep taking the UPS customer is you're never going to get through the line. He said to me, "we're you in line... cause you need to get in line." ... Which was the absolute worse than he could have said. Mostly because I had already been in line for 17 minutes. I explained that I had been in line, that he had taken three random people ahead of the two people that were in line already and that it was just unacceptable. When he then realized that the only thing I needed was a package of pre printed business cards, he rolled his eyes at me give me the dirtiest look and then walked as slowly as possible into the back to get my business cards... Tossed them on the counter and told me to have a nice day. NOW anybody that has spent money on something is obviously going to open the package and look at them to make sure that they were printed correctly, which I did and he was clearly ticked off that I continued to do it. As I left he took the man with the carriage and a half full of packages that walked in off the street and at this point had three other people in line behind me and still took the man with the carriage of packages first. It is just completely and totally bad business. It's more the point that so many people were patient with the employee BUT the employee wasn't patient with the customer. read more

This place is pretty well-stocked, from ink cartridges to phones and paper. The staff is well-meaning, but I can't say they're all that helpful, so I would do your homework ahead of time and be fully researched and prepared for your purchase before you get here if you're looking at electronics. I use the print center and the UPS shipping service regularly, and it's beyond frustrating - I don't know when I'll learn that just because it's in the same shopping center as my grocery store (Whole Foods), it's not more convenient than going to the UPS store in Wayland Square where they're actually competent. To start things off, they ignore you. And ignore you. And then ignore you some more. When you're REALLY about to lose it and walk out, someone finally approaches you and either gives you attitude or is just plain unable to do their job. What really frustrates me is when the computer won't recognize the address, and they refuse to override it. I mean, I KNOW my mother's address, people. Bottom line: the store itself is fine, but the staff is mostly useless. If you need to use UPS, go to Wayland Square and save yourself the headache. read more

A BIG shout-out to Nathan at the tech desk!!!!!! I was "directed" to this store from the Staples in Warwick, but the directions they gave me were to the middle of nowhere in Pawtucket (wrong exit #, wrong everything). By the time I got to this location to get the laptop that was being held for me, I felt like a lunatic. Anyhow, Nathan was terrific. We wound up chatting a bit, and determined that the laptop I was there to buy really wasn't right for me, so I wound up with another one and lots of helpful hints too. I'm typing on that laptop right now, and am very happy with it :) Had I followed the directions the other store gave me, I would have wound up at the U-Haul rental in Pawtucket, so this afternoon definitely had a happy ending!!! read more

I was there today, looking For some cabinets & chairs I ask for help to tree employees, all tree they ignore me at all, spend 45 minutes when some one says that cabinet it's available, it's sucks, I feel so embarrassed been following one the employees asking for help and the guys juts walk away, not good place , no good employees, no good service! I ordered some online prints for the first time ever at this location and the website made it very simple and they were ready before I expected which was wonderful. However, I will never order to this location again. When I went to the copy center, the employee I had to deal with was incredibly rude. It was a taller, older woman who seemed annoyed from the start (even though there were only two customers including myself and another associate was helping the other one). She was very sour and huffy, took forever finding my order, and didn't thank me or say anything after she rang me out. I don't need to pay to be treated this way. Thumbs down. read more

This review is for the amazing manager, Seth and for Sienna, who patiently and kindly assisted me with a LOT of paperwork I needed to have faxed. Seth - you treated me with compassion, and I will forever be appreciative. I was in a major bind having to fax paperwork and forms to SSA. If you have any experience with SSA, you know it can be stressful and confusing filling out their forms. I had about $40 dollars to last me till May, and didn't think I'd be able to afford faxing pages at $1.69 per page - was thinking well, I'm going to be able to fax part of what SSA needs, not all. I asked if Seth would be able to help in anyway, if there were any hardship programs for those with disabilities, etc., told him of the tough spot I'm in. Well - not only did Seth hear me with sincerity, he allowed me to fax all I needed to fax without charge. Usually the first 30 pages are free and after 30, it's $1.69 per page. I wouldn't have been able to afford it, and with the current state of things, I've been unable to see my case worker who helps me with paperwork and faxing. Seth - you saved me. Sienna, I appreciate again, your patience, kindness and help. I was so moved I wrote to corporate, to let them know how much of a great team they have at this Staples location. read more

The service at this Staples print center is some of the most inconsistent I've ever encountered. I have been overcharged, charged different amounts, etc, for the same types of basic orders. The staff is generally not very knowledgeable or on the same page with each other on what to charge. They also lost a UPS package of mine that was never recovered - apparently it never even made it onto the truck, and somehow disappeared after I dropped it off!! The item inside was not easily replaced so this caused a good amount of frustration and inconvenience. During one trip they failed to return my usb stick (I thought it was in the envelope, won't make the mistake of not double checking again) right before I left on a trip, and I had to send a friend to retrieve it - and didn't even get so much as an apology from them. (Apparently they didn't think they had done anything wrong by doing this.) This location was the most convenient for me but I've decided to save the stress and hassle and find a different print center. New staff is sorely needed in this print center. read more

Poor customer service. The few employees who did try to offer assistance, didn't seem knowledgeable regarding products or basic services. Those who did seem to have authority had a poor attitude and didn't seem to have much spirit and this includes the manager. Yikes! I can't say enough great things about the ladies in the Copy & Print Center at Staples. (Allison, Maxine.. you know who you are!) They respond promptly to my print requests via email, give me accurate times when my job will be completed, and are more than accommodating to any edits/changes I need on my work. I appreciate that although I have little experience in the design department, they don't make me feel like an idiot if I send the wrong info for a project. After using other local print companies (Alphagraphics, Metcalf @ Brown University, etc., I find that the quality of work & pricing is the best at Staples. read more

Do I love office supplies and can I stay in an office supply store for way too long - even when I don't need anything? Yup... On this front.. this store makes me happy. It does. However, when what you really need is the UPS shipping center to be competent, friendly and well just plain there and helpful (I mean there as in, actually coming to the desk to help you?) well that's the downfall. I won't be the first or most well spoken stating this fact, but this element of their customer service is non-existent. Ignored really is the only way to say it, and when we've seen boxes/packages just dumped, thrown and tossed around like playthings (at risk of injury to the items) well, we should know better. I hope they get their act together... but as my husband noted- their slogan (again for the UPS shipping portion) didn't say, Fast, Competent, or Will Give you Attention.. just Easy... and it's hardly that. read more

THE BEST COPY CENTER EVER! Seriously I love these guys. We use them for almost everything at my work and I'll admit we are now "gold" or "VIP" level or whatever they call it, but we were getting treated like that from the start. The staff is always friendly, helpful, and work with you to make things happen. I hate using the online system because you can't get same day, so I usually just email my print orders over. Other stores have given me crap about not using their online system, but this store responds promptly to my emails and always has it ready in hours. They have earned our loyalty. Even though they are a big chain, I feel like I'm in a small local copy center with the way they treat everyone. Oh, and everything comes out great every time. read more

STAPLES JUS GOT YELPED!! I am not a fan of this staples north main street plaza. 1st I went to the store just to buy a HDMI Adapter which I had to order. When the item arrived, I approached the counter and at first the associate couldn't find my package when she did find it, then she had to find a piece of paper for me to sign, she couldn't find that either which held up my time even longer. She called the store front manager. He asked me my name twice and wanted 2 see my ID not once but twice. Then sat a computer to download SOMETHING. I asked him what was the hold up. I really need to get out of here. All this paperwork should already be prepared for a customer when they come into a store. He had numerous answers but it wasn't his answers that were bothering me it was the way he was saying it like in sarcastic and condensing way. So i asked him his name he replied jeff and then insisted that he give me the corporate number which is very odd So I left the with him copying my information down which I have no I deal why and calling corporate office Sunday I went back to return the item for a refund. Again approached the counter again. Now these two idiots(Jeff and Dave) couldn't find out why the item wasn't matching the receipt they said they would have to call a number which on a Sunday it was closed So I returned Monday morning walked up the associates she cashed me out without calling anyone and handed me my money. I'm the guy that keeps coming back against his better judgement. I know what I want, based on your web page, but when I get to the store, you never have it. Today was a Kindle Fire 32gb HD. I was told it was only maybe possibly in Cambridge MA. Had to ask if you had other Kindle's. After 5 minutes, I had one, and went to the counter. They had to escort the Kindle because it's a 'high risk product'. Honestly, I couldn't out run anyone there but...whatever. Then I was offered the 'protection plan'. $80 or so for two years. No thank you I said. At this point the cashier explained that her's broke in three months. Maybe mine would too. Maybe I shouldn't buy this for my son if they are so poorly made. Maybe I shouldn't shop at Staples if they are going to continuously attempt to scare me into buying their protection plans. BTW, I've bought 2 laptops and one tablet at Staples ONLY BECAUSE THEY ARE CLOSE BY. IF THERE IS AN ALTERNATIVE IN PROVIDENCE, I WILL NEVER NEVER COME BACK :). Came in here with the intention of looking for a computer chair. I just moved into Providence so I was in desperate need of some furniture. Luckily they actually have a very decent collection here at Staples. So what I have learned here is that you really can't know a computer chair until you've sat in it. You can look at the prices and look at how shiny the leather is but in the end, it's your butt, back and head that will tell you that you met your match. I found my chair and fortunately/unfortunately it was on clearance. It didn't look too worn so I took the floor model home. They gave me a "discount" by not charging me the normal $10 assembly fee. Today I also was planning on purchasing a PC desktop all in one computer but I was redirected to creating a virtual PC on my machine. The ironic thing is that with the purchase of Windows, it almost came out to be the same price! At least I saved some space I guess! As you know, Staples is known for their office supplies, but they're selling more than that. They have some accessories that you would think are only found in supermarkets like ziplock bags (Yes, people come here to buy those things!). There's plenty of parking and this place is in the same parking lot as the McDonalds, Petco, Whole Foods and Boston Market. read more

I went into the Main St. Providence Staples store yesterday to get a memory card and a toner cartridge. Usually I buy stuff from Staples online, but I needed the toner right away. I was looking for the toner and a clerk came up to me and made extravagant, sarcastic remarks about my clothes ("Oh my god look at this outfit! Can I have this???"). He went on and on. Yes, I was dressed like a slob, but I was not aware that Staples has a dress code. And it's okay for me to dress like a slob because I've had my own business for 25 years. I expect to be able to go into an office supply store and buy office supplies without having to be subjected to silly high-school sarcasm about clothing. Is that too difficult for Staples? Seriously. I legit had a great experience here recently! I walked in knowing I wanted a 4 in 1 printer but had no idea how to chose one. As I was walking to the printer area, one of the employees asked if he could help me. I told him I needed an all in one printer and around $100! Who knew these things are so damn cheap? The one I landed on getting was 50% off! Yep, I love a good deal! He then asked if I needed any ink and paper, and when I said Yes, he walked me over and pointed out my options. On the walk to the register he told me about the additional warranty and would be like $15 for 2 years.. Yep! Add it to the bill. I needed a wireless mouse and he was able to assist in that as well. He started with me and ended with me, bringing me to a separate counter to cash out! He even offered to help me out to my car, but I was able to manage it all! I wish I caught his name, but bravo staples... You have a good one! The only downfall was a sign stated buy one pack of paper get one free.. So when he rang them up they were not ringing up on sale. He stated that the sign must be old and if I still wanted both packs... I would have thought he still would have offered me the deal and taken the sign down... But I ended up just putting one back! When I go here knowing what I want, associates appear out of nowhere offering help, which is nice. Tonight though, my computer crapped out so I took it in to drop it off for repair. My mistake was showing up 15 minutes before closing and no one could be bothered. After waiting at the counter for 10 minutes, I left. I go here often due to the convenience of it being near my house. Most of the staff is friendly, with the exception to a lazy black lady working in the copy center. She had the worst attitude when I needed help sending a fax. I was polite and said "thank you". The woman never said a word to me! Staples closes too early! By the time i'd get around to going, several times it'd be too late. Once i actually walked down there in the heat wave only to have to walk back. They also don't package things for you if you mail them out. You can drop off things for fed ex there though if theyre already packaged. I got some large packing boxes, which seemed overpriced, but they also had green environmentall friendly packing peanuts which is great. Overall, pretty handy place to have near you. read more

We've been in looking at them before and weren't super impressed with their selection. Today though, we got a great new printer, on sale even, and we were helped by the best Staple employee I've ever encountered. Fax machines are iffy. The connection is spotty and the staff always make excuses for not being able to do something. In 45 mins, all I heard from them ( to other people) was why they couldn't do something or it's too hard. Seems the moral is low in here or they have a bunch of incompetence going on. read more
