I went to Core Tech to get my HP Envy laptop fixed. My laptop's hinge had broke and caused the screen to separate from the back plate. The plastic in the back of the screen was also damaged so it was causing the touch screen to lose sensitivity. I dropped off my laptop and David diagnosed the issues and got back to me with an estimate the day after. Parts and labor took a week. I got my laptop back and it's working great! Thank you Core Tech for saving my laptop! My puppy chewed my adapter cord AND managed to pull out the port from the laptop itself. I brought it to Best Buy and they quoted me a price close to what the laptop itself cost. I found Core Tech online, and brought it in. Not only did they repair my laptop at a fraction of the cost quoted by "Best Buy" (where I bought it), but also cleaned it up and installed apps to keep it running smoothly. Had a laptop that would not boot and alo of viruses and junk on it. Brought it in for their free diagnostic and had it back in a few days and working fine! Cost me $50 to repair but alot better than junking what was a pretty good laptop and buying a new one. The guy there was helpful and courteous. I highly recommend Kore Computer Services! I deliberately waited to do my yelp to make sure that I was happy with Kore Computer Services. I wanted to be sure that what I said gave people having problems with their systems a fair and honest view of the services provided by Kore Computer Services. I am happy that they have a store that we can drop off and pick up our computers at our convenience and not have to wait around wasting time and money for our internet service provider to come to the house. We have two computers which had problems. Mine is a Mac and my husband has a Microsoft based PC. On two separate occasions, we have called Kore Computer Services and have been very happy with the services that they provided. Due to other questions we had about wiring, cables and etc.,they came to the house on both occasions when it was convenient for us! The Mac was running very slowly. The problem was located and fixed by Robert, from Kore Computer Services. He added more memory, did some testing and Voila! it is running much more quickly now. Robert had MY MAC UP and RUNNING THE SAME DAY! My Mac is older and he took the time to show me what was wrong and why. He answered all of my questions thoroughly and knowledgeably. While here, he checked everything from our cable lines to our router and discussed all the connections with me so that it was easy to understand. Eventually, I will have to upgrade to a newer system, as pointed out by Robert; but right now, we just can't afford it! I am very happy with the service and will call him if I have any more problems with my Mac. My husband has a habit of clicking on links and web pages - some of which contained things that gave him blue screens and shut down his computer. Though we had paid for a service to secure his computer through our bundled online services, it didn't work! This was not a good thing as he uses this computer for work. He needed to get this problem resolved as quickly as he could. Corey, from Kore Computer Services, moved so quickly I had a hard time keeping up with him. He had the system up and RUNNING the same day! I asked him to install something that would work better at protecting the PC from these types of problems. He spent time with us to find out about how we used our PCs and educated us on our computers and our particular networks. We have had nothing but good things to say about the security suite that he installed. He took the time to answer all our questions. He worked very quickly after learning of our individual needs, to install a program that really protects. I wound up canceling the security part of our internet services from Service charges can add up over time and paying for something that didn't work really upset me. I question their ability when it comes to working on my MAC. I know that we received better service from Kore Computer Services, in easily understandable language and we didn't have to wait for someone to show up. Can I give them 0 stars? One is way too much. Dishonest, unprofessional, rude beyond belief, incompetent. For those that are interested in the details of my experience at Core Tech Services read below. I needed a screen replacement on my Sony Z5. Called them for a quote. The part would have been $110 and labor $40. It would have taken one week for part delivery to their shop from Europe. I decided to look into local retailers. Found it Repair Universe for $60 plus $10 for 2 day delivery. Got the part brought it in. Repair technician agreed to do the job for $40 after complaining how complicated Sony phones are (that was a red flag for me right away that he doesn't know what he's doing), however he reassured me that he had two Sony Z3 phones last week. However he didn't give me any warranty on the part. Ok, I agreed. When i picked up the phone screen was working properly, except the installation job was very poor. The screen was sitting higher then it should have been and the light was shining thru the gap between the screen and the phone body on both sides of the device. H suggested to get a case that would hold it in place. What? Got home and noticed that when I was making a call screen would go black and no matter what buttons I would press it would not turn back on unless the other person would hang up the phone, even the power button was unresponsive. I brought the phone back, he says - easy fix, sensor is blocked somehow. As he pressed on the top off the screen bybthe camera it would light up during the call. He asked me to bring it back next week, he'll take care of it Tuesday morning, he didn't have time, it was Saturday evening. Fair enough. I brought it in Tuesday, waiting for my phone all day, go there around 4pm he hasn't even touched it yet, got all upset and told me to come back in one hour. I came back, whatever he did with it didn't fix the issue, but made it worse, now the screen wouldn't light up during calls by pressing the top any longer. Now he started blaming the effective part. Didn't really believe that story, brought the phone home and noticed that while he was removing the screen for the second time, he had snapped a corner of it, which he glued back on with super glue, residue of which now was also stuck on the rest of the screen. Brought the phone back, that's were things got really ugly, he wouldn't admit doing it, started cusring at me, calling me cheap for getting my own part and not paying his absurd price and waiting a week plus to get my phone fixed. Turns out the owner is not around and he's managing the place in his absence, which he's absolutely not competent to do. I tried to keep it under professional level. When the other 2 workers there tried to calm him down he grabbed his cigarettes and walked out the door. They're were much nicer to talk to, told me they will call me after contacting the owner. Nothing. I came back there week later - no word from the owner. Came back 2 weeks later - 'the manager' that was rude to me is handling this with the owner and he's not in. I'm not interested in talking to that incompetent, unprofessional manager there ever again. That was the last time i set my foot there. Had to get a new phone while I was waiting for this non-sensene to get resolved. The only reason I came to the because they have fixed my wife's iPhone in the past and did a great job, but it seems like they are not experienced enough to handle anything non mainstream. I have brought my macbook that they couldn't fix a few months ago, but I didn't held them accountable for not being able to do that and trusted their level of expertise. A lot of excuses and ducking out later nothing got fixed. They did blame the parts last time too. Defective hard drive that I had also ordered from a third party which I had to return, now I'm thinking they simply didn't know how to work on it. read more
