Outstanding, family run business that I've had the pleasure of using for several decades…read more Their work is second to none & there's nothing better than having a warm friendly greeting on the other end of the phone if you need to reach out to them. I hired mount pleasant alarms to install a complete alarm system at a commercial builing that my…read morewife and i own, big mistake. Ive been using a different company for years that i should have continued to use, unfortunatley i accepted a recomendation from our security camera guy and decided to use Mount Pleasant Alarms. We had someone break one of the front windows to the front of our building and steal over $30k worth of products and about $4k worth of equipment so we decided to upgrade the alarm system, security camera system and install bars on the inside of the windows. Mount Pleasant came out and took a look at the job and gave us a quote that was a decent price so we told them to go ahead with the job. Upon completion of the job i did a walk through with the owner of the company son and expressed concern about how the windows that were broken into did not have sensors installed on them, he assured me that the motion detector in the room would pick up any movement that occured and that there wasnt a need for sensors (even though there were sensors from the previous system still remaining on the windows). I didnt think much of it because hey, they are professionals right? They know this equipment better than me right? They arent trying to cut corners right? WRONG. Fast foreward 3 months, we have another break in. They break into the SAME window that they broke last time, were able to work through the broken window to unscrew the bars over the window from the inside and use a car jack to push the bars off the wall. This whole process took over 2 hours and the motion sensor didnt go off! The alarm finally goes off after the thiefs gained access and rob us for another $14k worth of products before leaving. The next morning i wake up and check my cameras to see that someone broke in and my first thought is, why didnt the alarm go off? Why didnt i get a call? Well i did get a call...except they CALLED THE WRONG NUMBER!!!! We got in touch with Mount Pleasant and they read back the number which they had, and i couldnt understand why they didnt have the right number, because i had the service contract right in front of me and it HAD THE RIGHT NUMBER on it!!!! Unbeliveable! The owner of the company came by the building to meet with my wife and see what went wrong today and he proceded to tell us that it wasnt his fault that the windows were not covered by the alarm and that if i wanted the windows alarmed i should have called him to ask for that, instead of telling his son who did the walk through with me and i signed the contract with -who clearly worked for the company as well. We told the owner that we wanted him to cover the loss of our product or refund our money for the install and service we had already paid because it was their fault that the windows werent protected and we didnt get a call to the right number when it mattered, his response was to try and sell us more sensors and more devices to protect the roof?!? We ended up removing all of our windows and filling the spaces in with cynder blocks, which was a nice $3700 expense to have to pay, the day after being robbed for the second time in 3 months. Our response was that we wanted him to get his junk alarm system out of our building and we requested a refund because we paid for the whole years worth of monitoring and the install up front, in cash all at once. He refused and told me that i can remove the system if i want but im still responsible for the rest of the three year contract and i can not just cancel it. He also blamed everybody under the sun for the lack of window sensors including myself, explainig that it was "a rushed job and wasnt taken seriously", (an actual quote from the owner) he told me that if i wanted window sensors i should have told HIM not his son-who handled the walk though, install, and contract. The owner obviously does not stand behind his company and employees work. I will be removing this garbage alarm system and going to install one with the company that handles our other properties as well as spreading the word about our expierence with this company. I hope this review finds its way to anybody considering hiring this incompetent company to safegaurd their property. What kind of alarm company doesnt call the right phone number when someone breaks in? What kind of alarm company doesnt install window sensors on a job that just had a burgulary where the windows were smashed out? What kind of comapny blames the CUSTOMER for a rushed install and sloppy work? -MOUNT PLEASANT ALARMS thats who.

My home security alarm began beeping and it said the battery was low. I went into the closet where the alarm box is located but didn't see anything wrong. I called Frank at Eastern Security and he told me to go in the basement to where the electrical panel is. Yikes! There was a tiny leak in an overhead pipe and the area around the panel was wet and so was the floor and wall. My alarm wasn't working because of the leak. The socket where the alarm system is plugged in was wet. I immediately called the plumbers and they came over and fixed the leak. Once the area dried out, I again called Frank at Eastern Security and he told me what to do to get the alarm system back up and working. He stayed on the phone with me til the alarm all set. This is why everyone should deal with a legitimate company run by people who know what they're doing and how to treat their customers well.

While he is very Professional, he is kind and caring. He puts a lot of time and effort into his business. I like that Frank is available 24/7. While he has an answering service, He himself calls you right back if there is a problem. The materials he uses are very high quality. The employees that he has for installation are very knowledgeable and dependable. The office staff at Eastern Security are very courteous and accommodating. I can't recommend Eastern Security Systems enough to anyone looking for any type of Alarm System, because Frank has all types of systems covered. Kudos for running such a High Quality Business. Thank You

They say they provide free moving of the equipment, but when I called to have my equipment moved, they tried to charge me. After going up the line, I finally got them to agree they are supposed to move me for free. Then they set up an appointment for an installer, and so I set aside a Saturday. Five minutes before he was due to show up, I received a call that he would not be coming that day, and I would need a new appointment, which would be a month later. When the new installer came, after spending an hour or two at the house trying to install my equipment, he told me he could not get the equipment to work since Vivint had upgraded their software and the software was not backwards compatible. I then had to deal with Vivint directly to address the issue. They told me I had to buy all new equipment, and I made it abundantly that they needed to provide whatever new equipment I needed for free, and they refused, so I told them we were done, and I thought that was the end of it. Today, 3 months later, I got a Vivint charge on my credit card. I called to get it removed, and they told me I was still a customer and I had to start paying the monthly charges until the end of my contract. That was of course unacceptable and so I got bounced to their loyalty department. I went in circles with this person telling her to cancel the account, and she kept trying to sell me their equipment and service, even after I told her I had contracted with another alarm company. She said she understood this and then just kept trying to sell me new equipment and service. Finally, I got it through her head that I wanted the account canceled, and then she sprung on me that I am going to be charged a cancellation fee. So now I had to deal with her supervisor since there was no way I was going to pay a cancellation fee. Now the supervisor offered me all new equipment and a big reduction in my monthly payment, which obviously is what they should have done 3 months ago. When I told him it was too little too late since I had already contracted with another company, he finally gave up trying to sell me and said he would cancel the account. The he said the cancellation process would take 30 days so I would be charged with one more month of service. These people don't give up trying to take money for service that they can't provide. Finally when I blew up again telling him there's no way I'm paying for this, he finally backed off. Time will tell if they got me cancelled and if the money they charged me today is credited back to my credit card. Bottom line, stay away from Vivint. They are horrible to deal with, and they are money grubbers.
