I had several UPS packages to drop off, so I went to my local UPS Store. I had a small USPS package also. I have been dropping them off there for years. I was told they no longer take USPS packages. I decided to just mail it from my house because it is inconvenient to go to the USPS. I asked if UPS sold stamps they said yes so, I bought two books. When I got home, I realized they had charged me $28.00 for 20 forever stamps. Those stamps are only .60 cents each. I paid $1.40 each I called back to return the unused book and they denied me to do so. If they had said yes, we sell them but at a much higher price I would have never purchased them. Never buy stamps at UPS. They should not be allowed to take advantage of people as such. If they are doing this with stamps, I can just imagine what else they are radically raising prices on. read more

I went to the ups store in smithfield to ship out 3 packages. I was advised that two for the items needed to be shipped together, as there was only 1 shipping label provided. I purchased a box and tape to be able to ship as one package. I was then advised that I am not allowed to package items in the store and that I needed to go outside into the cold and put the package together. Confused as to why because I didn't get an explanation as to why I went outside and put the package together. The sales clerk Chris, obviously knew I was outside, but locked the door and refused to take the package. The store closed at 3 pm and I finished packaging at 2 minutes after 3. I was then advised that I needed to come in earlier and be aware of the store hours. He had already taken and scanned the other package but failed to give is a receipt or anything for tracking. When I spoke with him after he refused to provide any type of receipt and said the store was closed, so now I have no way to track the one package he did take Such a rude, unprofessional and disappointing visit to the ups store. It seems as though some customer service training is in order. read more

Really friendly and helpful staff. I was in the parking lot with my 3 year old son and a male employee came all the way to my car to help me bring a large box in! That was one of the nicest things a store employee has ever done for me. A female employee was also particularly helpful when I had to return a modem to Verizon and she said they frequently lose them and to make sure I kept the receipt- well good thing I did because Verizon claimed I had never sent it back- thank goodness for that employee or I would have been out $350! read more

In the days of print at home labels. Online bill pay etc. there is not much need to ever have to leave the house to mail packages or letters. I always try to avoid these type places because it's always busy. I don't wait in line well. This location however is great. It's neat and organized and clean. It's very easy to find what you may need for shipping. It's not usually very busy when I go there but the few times it was the line moved quickly. When the line started to form someone else came out and helped. Every time I am there I have a good experience. I went here for a notary and this young girl I asked for help told me she would get someone else to assist me because "she had already done some that day". She was rude to me and also her co workers. My question is, if you can't do your job, why are you working there? Quoted me 10 cents per printed black and white page on the phone. I get there and copier won't read my stick drive. Salesman uses PC's USB slot to print the page for me, then says I owe him three dollars for "computer assistance." I mention using Staples next time, their copiers read my stick drive just fine, he reduces his ask to one dollar. I slap my dollar on the counter and leave. Never going back there - he acted like ripping me off for 90 cents was him doing me a favor. I don't think so. How many other people has he casually ripped off? read more

I've lived in Smithfield my whole life. Never really visited this store myself much. My wife usually takes care of my shipping needs. I had a package that needed to be mailed the day before yesterday.... The wife said to go to the Smithfield ups store, so i did. Upon walking in i was greeted my Anthony, extremely knowledgeable... He took care of everything (wrapping, packaging, etc). I cant thank him enough. While he was taking care of my shipping needs he told me of the other services they provide... I was in need of new business cards anyway and gave him the order... Again I was 100% satisfied with the service, quality and speed... This guy is definitely an asset to the owner of this UPS store... With that said, i did read 1 negative review and find it highly unlikely that this guy with the negative review was talking about the same person i did business with. I personally have 6 kids and know kids will be kids. But Anthony is 100% professional I will highly recommend this store to friends and family. read more

Anthony and the staff at the UPS store #0432 are exceptional. I ordered an Apple Watch from Apple/shipped by UPS. I wasn't home when they first delivered. The watch was supposed to go to access point Store 0432 in Smithfield the next day. It wasn't there - 3 days in a row. Although this is not an issue that the store created, Anthony and his staff went above and beyond to find out the location of the package, then called the dispatcher who called the driver to meet me so I could get the package in time for a birthday this weekend! I always come here for all my shipping needs and other related stuff after today, I would consider living in this place of business. I walked in to get something faxed. The process actually added years to my life because it seemed like the young man, who was a young weird Al look-a-like, knew exactly how to fax it. I was so certain it was faxed I nearly climaxed. During this process I was told my daughter would do great things and she was allowed to frolic as freely as she pleased. Which I really appreciate. By the way, she frolicked for a solid two minutes, after all the faxing was so fast I the flash himself was employed as a part-time helper. She stared in awe as "Weird Al" expertly sent the greatest fax I have ever had the pleasure of witnessing. Also mind you there were three other people working and all of them working with the ethic of Jesus and Moses fused together. Not one of them had to assist due to Al's adept usage of the fax machine. So as my attention is held by his wonderful, yet masterful work I here a man. I then see mister fabulous, bald headed tough guy, loaded with positive vibes and happiness, loves his life approach me and compliment me by saying "THANK YOU FOR BEING SO MILD MANNERED, YOUR CHILD IS SO WELL BEHAVED" I said "thanks". She sat there in glee. This guy knew exactly what he expected of me. First of all it seems like the love kids here. I was there with entire village whom had all rejoiced in the wonder that was this glorious fax mastery. I wonder why? What a total HERO this guy was. I've been in there before where this guy waited on me. He was a hero then too. I will always do all of my business here for the rest of my life. I should have thrown my self and my entire life savings on the counter in exchange for the miraculous service I had the privilege of experiencing that day... I can die happy now. read more

The Smithfield UPS Store is an excellent source for shipping, packing print design and printing services. My company has been very happy with the design work of multiple documents, contracts, brochures etc. and personally I had them ship some homemade apple sauce in mason jars that got there safe and still frozen and important docs internationally in quick order. Let me start out by saying that I have frequented this store many times over the past 6 or 7 years and kept going back so it couldn't have been too bad for me to keep using them for shipping merchandise for our Ebay items. It seems the larger odd sizes and large heavy items are where I am not happy at all. Most recently, I had to ship an item that weighed 16.95 lbs and was 66" L x 17 1/4" W and 6" Deep. (Okay, so the 17 1/4" size had to be 18" because they round up). But please, go online to the UPS website and get your 'estimate' of these sizes. I came up with a price of $66.81 (for the 17"- I rounded down). I get there and they had the same weight, same length and depth but rounded up to 18". They wanted me to pay over $80, with no insurance!! I got back in my car with the package and drove 12-15 minutes to the main UPS facility in Warwick... guess what, I paid less than $69 with insurance. I drove back to the Smithfield store and asked them why was there such a large discrepancy - showed them the slip/ receipt that had all the measurements. They said that the main UPS facility must not have measured it properly, the prices online are an 'estimate' and said more things that made no sense! Even if you add an inch to every figure above you don't come close to the over $80! So- based on this recent transaction, I will drive to Warwick and save money. I think this UPS Store must charge higher prices than the real UPS facility. What else could it be??? read more
