What a miserable experience - this is easily the worst customer service of anywhere I have to go regularly. The ambiance is like a derelict bus station and the counters are always understaffed - one counter was open this morning with a line of nine people, but more usually 2-3 counters are staffed and the line is 15-25 people, guaranteeing at least a 15-minute wait. There's nobody to answer questions, so if you have to ask for something, just stand in line for 15 minutes, ask, then stand in line for 15 more minutes to get served. Staff are sullen at best and overtly hostile at worst, and take any question as an affront to them and evidence of your stupidity, accompanied by sighs and eye-rolls. This morning I got a new response - when I asked, the woman simply walked away while I was talking. The phone system is a joke - nobody ever answers, and if you let it ring, an automated message will offer to transfer you to reception - which then rings until the automated message offers to transfer to you reception (etc). The staff know about all these problems, the issue is simply that they don't care. They are federal employees with secure jobs - they certainly aren't going to listen to you. No wonder UPS, FedEx, Mailboxes etc are all eating their lunch. Pathetic waste of time. read more

I think overall the post office sucks. They are not private and there is no incentive to be efficient. Ben Franklin probably rolls around in his grave about this. Their mailboxes are good but sometimes mailing a package at the window is awful and slow or using their self-service machines. They should hire efficiency experts on how to do better. The Issaquah one is good most of the time. The worst one I have ever been in is the Crossroads one. I will never set foot in that Post office again. Chimpanzees could have done better work. read more

Typical post office, although much friendlier service than I am accoustomed to at previous post offices.

I don'e even know where to start with these folks at the Issaquah post office. I sent a package to Chicago in November and it never got to my recipient, come to find out the delivery address was "some how" changed. All I get now is that since I didn't have insurance on it oh well I should forget about my package, and i say Insurance or not, its the trust i had on the business, its their promise to deliver my item and its my item that was tampered with so they should be responsible and be more caring. read more

This updates a previous review. This post office always has long lines and wait. But saw some improvements lately - they added someone to scan/accept pre-filled out packages instead of waiting in line. read more

What a post office! It has envelopes, and post office boxes, and people who work behind a counter! I recommend this post office to anyone with mailing needs. read more

I waited in a long line to mail an international package. When I finally got to the front, the employee rudely told me I'd used the wrong box and forms, and said I had to change them. He then moved on to the next customer with no further instruction, as if he fully expected me to wait in that line again. I don't like lines, but I can deal as long as when you get to the front there is good customer service. This guy was condescending and flat-out rude. Other times I have been, the customer service has been adequate at best - the employees are always short and bad-tempered, and generally unhelpful. If you can mail your items anywhere else, do it. read more

Where the Hell do I begin? OH YEAH..... WORST POST OFFICE DON'T BOTHER GOING HERE! I have been getting other people's mail for over 10 years now, and they also get mine. USPS apparently cannot figure out the alphabet and numerical order in which addresses are typed on the outside envelopes and packages. Despite several visits to post office, notes left at our personal mail boxes for USPS workers, and calls made about USPS it never gets better. In fact, it's getting worse. They simply don't care, and they don't care to get mail carriers who can actually read and understand alpha letters and numbers, and match mail up to residential addresses. Teach classes!!! Get involved! I cant believe it's gone on this long. The community just puts up with it, the long lines, the complaints at the post office but no one does anything about it? Why? Why will you not do a better job USPS? Do you all hate your jobs at USPS that much? Every time I see you guys it's 'grumpy personalities and how 'slow can you go' with jobs you all have been doing for years!??!? Why not pick up the pace? I'm expected to be quick and efficient at my job, why not you? Then you put on your phone recording at 425 837 8795 every time I try to call it's on, and you cant leave a voice mail no matter how hard you try. You simply don't want to deal with the community, requests, questions but most of all complaints!!!! And you refuse to wont apologize for your mistakes that happen over and over and over again. People expect mail on a timely basis. Important documents are needed, legal forms sent, bills to be paid, others depending on USPS to get it to them. USPS: Don't treat this as so blaise' and that 'it doesn't matter when, where, how, or why us customers get our mail.' read more

Amazing that with everyone looking for work; a post office as big and busy as the one in Issaquah can't have anyone answer the phone; or, the reason I was trying to reach them, find out why my package scheduled for re-delivery yesterday didn't get delivered. I was patient and on hold with the USPS somewhere in the US for 1 hour and 11 minutes. They were helpful but explained that unless the station manager actually looked at the redelivery document (which I got a confirmation for and a reminder of via e-mail) my actual delivery person wouldn't have any way to know the package that wasn't left, would be ready for re-delivery. Amazing - I can get something from Amazon in less than 3 hours but can't even get the Post office to answer the phone. End of rant. read more

My experience today at the Issaquah passport office is one I'd like to forget about as soon as possible.. After following the proper online scheduling procedure, I showed up 10 mins before my scheduled time to complete my form, and knocked at the locked door to the passport conference room. I could see 2 people sitting inside yet no one budged to respond, I called the phone # - no answer.... After waiting 20 mins i approached the USPS employee working with the regular mail customers for help instructions, he suggested I continue waiting at the door... It was now 40 mins after my scheduled time.. I knocked again, again no response.. I phoned again, received an answer, I explained I was waiting for my scheduled passport appt and nobody was responding, he offered to get the passport agent for me.. A few minutes later an angry agent poked his head out the door saying "what do you want?" Basically the experience got worse from here.. I left after a :45 minute wait, after he basically said "just go-I cant help you, go mail your own forms.." and tossed the photos he had taken at me.. I could immediately sense he was intending to antagonize me from the start, and did nothing to bring this on. I only wanted help with my passport application form, fees, photo etc.. This individual has no business facing customers, and was truly the worse customer service agent related experience I have EVER experienced in my 59 years... read more

I put in a request for hold mail while I was on vacation stating I would pick up my mail when I got back into town. After I waited 30 minutes I line I was told that my mail was not there and was probably out for delivery but they weren't sure. When I it home my mail was not in my locked mail box but sitting in a box on my doorstep. Specifically why I wanted to pick up the mail myself. How hard is it to deliver mail? I continue to have problems with this post office both personally and business. read more

I sent my packages several times and one counter named JIN treat me very rude and she looks very angry but I don't know the reason. So I may go with UPS in future. One suggest to manager, they need to hire professional counter. read more

Lines are usually always long but the people working there are fairly friendly. Just make sure you go during a off hour or try to print out your label and drop it off to a mail box. read more

Always a miserable experience. 10+ people in line and two windows open. Depressing staff. Phone number doesn't work. Fail.

Having shipped more than 10,000 items via USPS over the past 10 years, this was my first encounter with a seriously INEPT clerk. I arrived with properly packed international priority boxed package, postage paid online, customs forms, and completed Return Receipt form (required for delivery confirmation)..and was purchasing ONLY insurance and cost of the return receipt. Was advised by the clerk that I COULD NOT GET ANY KIND OF DELIVERY CONFIRMATION/RETURN RECEIPT FOR INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING UNLESS IT WAS REGISTERED (NOT WHAT I NEEDED). I advised that this particular form is meant for that service. She stood her ground and, in frustration, I shipped it without the necessary documentation. Although English was obviously her second language, I know she understood what I wanted and, as an EMPLOYEE OF USPS, she should be aware of all services they offer (it really is not that complicated). I have filed a complaint with USPS and hope others do as well. they definitely need (re) training at that facility! Second negative encounter (SAME POST OFFICE) with this facility was when I inquired about an insured parcel which was LOST..she simply printed out the tracking information, which clearly showed the package was missing, but stated it was probably at the post office awaiting pick-up. I knew better. THEY CAN'T EVEN READ THEIR OWN TRACKING NOTES! USPS paid a $900 insurance claim on that one! read more

tried to get my passport there but had to make another appointment cause they wouldn't except credit card. the guy doing the passports is a smart ass and unfriendly. not happy never come back here again read more

Our Tuesday mail delivery arrived at 9:30 PM last night. It is totally dark at 9:30 and much too late to take action on mail that needs response. Every Wednesday morning before 7:00 AM we have garbage pick up. We like to put the recycle and trash out Tuesday evening but the postman complains that the recycle is in his way for free access to the post box. Three weeks ago our neighbor watched him drive over a garbage can in the dark. When he had to get out of his vehicle to untangle the can from the post van he berated the neighbor for having garbage cans near the post box. (They weren't his cans but he didn't want to further antagonize the irate man. There is no other place to put garbage. On Friday they deliver our mail at 1:30PM. If they can do it on Friday, why can't they deliver early on Tuesday? We don't know if they have gone by with the mail delivery when we put out the garbage. We assume that by 7:30 or 9:30PM we should have had mail if we are getting any. read more

So I give 1 star because it is NEVER a good experience at this post office. However I will give the facility 4 stars. Tons of parking, large open area when you walk in. Self service kiosk...which I recommend if you do not have to engage one of the employees that is best. They always have well stocked priority mailing items, which is great. BUT the people. Holy crap...that's another story. Rude, not helpful, don't want to be there employees. I am glad I read some other reviews about passports because I actually scheduled an appointment there for this Friday. I will definitely be cancelling that and going to a different post office. Sounds awful. I never write reviews and I doubt this one will help change anything since it seems like this crap has been going on for years, but I just had this time after just returning from the post office after looking for a lost package. It's a large package with about $800 worth of merchandise in it. I dropped it off there and it never made it out of the post office and it's gone poof. Luckily the merchant was amazing and actually refunded me all my money without the package. Needless to say, I was really bothering the employee with my annoying request to see if they could take a look for it. First she just shined me off and said she would not have any idea where it would be. I asked her if there was an area they put lost packages? She reluctantly spent all of 30 seconds doing so. I got lucky this time with the merchant having amazing customer service so I will be taking my packages elsewhere from now on. However I might pop in to see if any of them has a new wardrobe they happened to have snagged from a "lost package". I admit lately I have not had a great experience at any post office in King County, but the most unfavorable interactions have been in Issaquah for sure. read more

Assuming that anyone is in charge of this place, that person should be fired for incompetence since he or she seems to be content with everyone under him or her being incompetent. Before we went to our vacation home for two months, we sent in the paperwork to have our mail forwarded there. After a few weeks of getting no forwarded mail, we learned that the mail was still being delivered to the Seattle address. My wife flew back to Seattle to talk with them, and we thought we had it straightened out. However, we subsequently learned that our mail is now being returned to the senders as "undeliverable." There is no way for us to know how much important mail has been sent back and will never be delivered to us. Apparently properly forwarding mail is something the Postal Service (or at least this branch) is just not capable of doing. read more

The inevitable long lines/ wait times, as well as the rude, unhelpful clerks serve to qualify this post office as one of the worst I have encountered. It is a shame, too, because on the outside it looks so inviting. Don't be deceived! Their customer service is appalling and nonexistent. If this were a retail establishment they'd be fired on the spot for their disinterested and atrocious customer service. How much effort does it take to smile and greet a customer? I do everything I can to avoid having to stand in their 45 min. long lines and experience their rude treatment. Don't even get me started on their phone service - there isn't any. They don't bother to answer. What a joke this place is and, as a long time Issaquah resident, I am embarrassed that it is a part of our community of businesses. read more

Received a card to pick up a package there. Drove around the building 3 times, couldn't find the entrance or sign or counter. Call the number, no one answer forever. The only entrance said for courier loading only. Finally saw a mailman loading his van and he direct me to a little window by the loading area. Wish they put a bigger and clear sign by the gate for fist timer read more

I came today to send a surprise special valentine's day present to my aging mom and when I arrived to the counter with my box, I was told by two employees that the box was first going to cost $35 to send, and then after removing things and having the second employee help me tape it up, it was going to cost $25 to send. That didn't include insurance. I ended up taking most things out and sending a few things in an envelop because I had a certain budget for everything I sent. Then I come home and my housemate tells me about the priority flat rate box that I could have put everything in for about $17 max. I come back with the new box and the manager tells me that he can't do anything for me as far as a refund or discounting the new box even though I asked twice for all the options to send it on a budget. Not one of these employees (Friday afternoon, 2/10/17) mentioned this flat rate box which would have easily put everything special together for my mom and gotten to her on time rather than the 1-2 weeks they were telling me. This is an EPIC FAIL. It's the employee's job to know what to offer here and while I've heard about these boxes before, I'd forgotten about them and was in full mode of doing special for my mom. I counted on the post office to do their job and it would have cost me over $30 to send both boxes. I find this to be a them around here, taking advantage of people. The manager was kind enough to give me the number to make a consumer complaint, but it was in his power to correct this. I highly recommend this be educated better with employees. I walked out frustrated and sad that I couldn't do for my mom what I planned to do because I needed to stay on budget and would have if I'd been able to do the flat rate box all to go. What is going on with customer service lately? My genuine thought, don't have someone up at the counter helping customers who already have to wait in line a long time (and I was in line 3 times for all of this) to get up to the counter for an employee who doesn't know how to do their job correctly. For now, I'm choosing a different post office location. Hopefully when I stop in again, everyone will be trained better so they make people's day instead of frustrating the general public. Thanks and God bless. read more

The person in charge for passport was so rude. He dont know how to treat people nicely even during the time when I ask for appointment. Very unproffesional. Why do hire staff like that? If you have plan to get or renew your passport on this USPS location, just go to District Court in Issaquah, no appointment needed, staff are proffesional and the process is fast. No need to deal with this kind of employee who reflect that he does like his job. read more

I just left this post office on tax day at 5pm (don't judge ;) and couldn't believe the service they provided! Wow! The manager was circulating around asking if anyone had questions or needed help with forms/return receipt etc. The clerks were pleasant and fast. Despite how busy it was I was out in 10 minutes! Imagine if the dmv worked this way! I hope to see this again with holiday shipping. read more

Family went to apply for a passport for my kids. The person who waited on them was incredibly rude and refused to provide any service. This is not the first time we've encountered rude civil servants at this location. We will _not_ be using this post office anymore. For passports I recommend using the Bellevue post office since they have Saturday hours and have more favorable ratings than Issaquah. For sending/receiving packages there is a FedEx ship center across just off SE 56th staffed with courteous professionals. You should avoid the Issaquah post office at all costs. read more
