I spent 40 minutes waiting in line patiently with everyone else. I was next up and waiting for my turn when I overheard the employee telling the customer "I hate this place. I wish it would burn to the ground. The only good thing about this place is it forces me to update my resume". When you wait for 40 minutes in line calmly like everyone else you really don't want to hear how disgruntled the employee is. The worst USPS. They are always understaffed and there are long lines at all times of the day. They have a drop box for prelabeled/paid packages and also direct customers who have prelabeled/paid packages too large for the drop box to leave on the counter or next to the door at the side of the counter. What they don't tell you is they don't scan packages put in the drop box, left on the counter/door! You have to wait in line for an hour to have them scan a prelabeled/paid package in order to get tracking for it. If not, they apparently just don't scan it and toss it on a truck and you don't get the tracking service you paid for! Makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. From other reviews, this seems to be the only location that doesn't properly scan packages in. It's really nonsensical. read more

Amazingly, somehow this location has gotten even worse over the last few months. What is most frustrating is that they never take five minutes before opening to restock their packing supplies. If you're looking for Forever International stamps, this location has been out of them since the beginning of the summer. I wonder what's taking so long for them to be back in stock, does their restock keep lost in the mail? This location only gets two stars instead of one star because Karen is the nicest USPS worker out there. I feel like she has worked there for as long as I've lived in Issaquah and she always goes above and beyond to help me and my family, sometimes even telling us how we can save on postage. She unfortunately seems to be the only competent person there. I went in a few days ago to pick up, you guessed it, Forever International stamps and was told they are still out of stock. I asked if they instead had 10-cent stamps (two domestic stamps (73 cents) plus two ten-cent stamps equal the same amount of postage as one Forever International stamp ($1.65) and no, they don't make 20-cent stamps for some reason) and they said they were all out of ten cent stamps and instead, the guy at the desk tried to sell me five-cent stamps. I was genuinely shocked. Six whole stamps will not fit on a single postcard to Canada which is what I was trying to mail. Then he asked if I want additional ounce stamps which are 28 cents and I told him I didn't want to pay 9 cents of extra postage on everything I mail internationally to which he replied I could put three domestic stamps on an envelope. I feel like math should be a requirement to work for the USPS. If I am already complaining about paying 9 extra cents. Why would I ever put $2.19 worth of postage on an envelope going literally a hop across the border?? Honestly a ridiculous experience. I spent fifteen minutes waiting in a line of two people to walk out empty-handed. Slow service, and some seriously math-challenged employees. My 7-year-old niece who I was trying to send the postcard to would have the sense not to say "put three domestic stamps on an international postcard." Even telling me to get printed postage from the self-service machine would have been a more logical idea to suggest than that. read more

Super long line. Just trying to pick up my weekly package since they won't refuse to try to redeliver. My packages are small I don't get why they won't deliver. My whole apartment building . It will fit in mail box. Lobby's open too. Very frustrating then every week having to wait and try to ring the doorbell 4 times while I hear multiple people moving back there and then when I ask the front if anyone's there during the hours they have posted on the door. The line is always out the door. Always takes AT LEAST 2 hours. So plan ahead and make sure you are able to stay and wait. You won't be able to pick your package up on your lunch break that's for sure or anytime quickly. Expect 2-3 hours waiting. If they are understand as they say they need to hire more people then. I stopped by at 3:00 on a weekday and was 11th in line. I had to wait over 5 minutes before anyone came out from the back. For more than 15 minutes, there was only one employee working, until a second one finally came to assist. When it was my turn, the employee was polite, but the experience was less than ideal. I was there for over 40 minutes before I was served. They didn't have any rolls of stamps, only books of stamps, most of which were leftover from Christmas. The glass door to the passport office was boarded up, likely due to ongoing issues with homeless individuals who camp nearby. This place sucks. I have had a PO Box there for 6 years, and up into the start of this year if gas ok. Now my mail delivery into my box is extremely slow. It takes up a month to get mail that use to take 7 days at most. I gave complained to the new postmaster and she has the attitude everything is good there. Never ever delivers my packages. Might be the worst post office and mail carriers I've ever had to deal with it.

This is the worst USPS location I have ever been to. Ever. I work from home so I am home all day, every day. USPS carriers NEVER ring the doorbell or leave any indication that a package was delivered. Amazon will send me a notification that a package was delivered and then I have to go looking for it. Sometimes USPS will deliver on the front porch, sometimes in the back of the house where the garage is, sometimes on the side of the house, and sometimes in the mailbox. It's like a game of hide and seek. I get pink slips in my mailbox indicating that I wasn't home so I have to go to the post office. Lies. Like I said, I'm always home. In any event, the post office is less than 10 minutes away so it's not a big deal. What is annoying is that when I get to the post office, they can't find my package. Instead, they take a copy of the pink slip and tell you to leave your phone number and someone will call me. This has happened on three separate occasions in the last 10 days. Each time I went to the post office, they told me they couldn't find the package. When I call USPS, someone picks up and will immediately put you on hold. They say, "Thanks for calling, can you you hold, thank you." There is literally no time to say anything before being on hold. I was placed on hold for 15 minutes. When no one picked up, I hung up and tried again. Again, I was placed on hold for another 15 minutes before hanging up. I shouldn't have to pay for PO Box just to make sure I get my mail in a timely manner, especially when I've been paying for expedited shipping. I have yet to receive a call back from the manager who now has had my phone number on three separate slips. I left emails, and requested a manager the last time I was there and was told the managers don't get in til like 10-10:30 am. It's a shame that our post office system isn't taking responsibility for anything. You can't reach a manager, and when you do reach a live person on the phone, they are quite rude. May need to just switch to UPS, they are closer in location and their customer service has always been great. read more

It's our US mail system. Of course I highly recommend. You can self serve sending packages, get some pretty cool stamps, have your mail stopped temporarily if your out of town, buy shipping supplies, and set up a mailbox. The line is always quick, clerks friendly, helpful and generally cheerful. Easy in and out and a lots of parking. read more

Updating my review from a couple years ago. I've been here probably 100 times in the past year due to getting a PO Box here and shipping a lot of mail out. This post office's lobby is open 24/7 so you can use the self-service machines and get the priority mail boxes/letters whenever you want. The giant parking lot with a drive-up mailbox is convenient. They are open until 7 pm M-F, also convenient. There are a couple ladies that work at the counter that give exceptional service. A few examples of the awesome service here: A postal worker will come out when there is a long line and ask if anyone is picking up a package and get that for them. Also, they have someone come out and if you have a package all ready to go and didn't use the self-service machines, they will take care of those for you. Personal experience with great service for me has been when I've mailed an international letter and the Seattle post office mailed it to me instead of to the receiver, no fault of mine, which the clerk could clearly see so she added postage free of charge and resent it. Another time, I had a package being shipped internationally and the self-serve machines both had longer lines than the counter so I went there to pay for postage. She told me the service I had chosen was much more expensive and saved me $50 by showing me another service that would be the same time frame and with proof of delivery and insurance. There are 2 self-service machines here for buying stamps, mailing letters and packages. If you rent a PO Box here, you also get a street address. Yes, that's right: this location will accept FedEx and UPS deliveries! In fact, any other mailing service can be delivered here with this service. So if you are out of town, busy as hell, or don't want your packages stolen off the porch, get a PO Box and have all your Amazon orders sent to you here. I live in an apartment building, and one of the services was the landlord accepting all package deliveries so the tenants wouldn't have to worry about porch pirates. Well, she decided she didn't want to accept packages anymore for our property, so this is a great solution. And the post office is cheaper for renting a PO Box than the UPS Store. A word about the reviews that have commented about the overflowing trash bins here: There are a few hundred PO Boxes here. I have witnessed people that rent a PO Box dump a freakton of mail into the recycle bins and what was an empty bin 5 minutes ago is now overflowing. The post office would have to be out there every 30 minutes to empty the bins. To solve this problem, they need to add more recycle bins. read more

Went in on Saturday to mail one small package and to buy a roll of stamps. There was a line all of the way to the front door. There were TWO people working the counter. About ten minutes later one of those two workers left and never returned. So, one person working who seemed to lack zero sense of urgency. Finally one hour after walking in, it was finally my turn. The gal that waited on me was very nice. She let me know that they had no rolls of stamps in stock nor did they have any books of stamps to sell! I bought several sheets from her limited stock and I left over an hour after walking in. ONE PERSON? I realize that the Post Office was no motivation to do well. In addition to the long lines and never answering calls, we keep missing mail and pkgs, mail that was scanned in informed delivery that never makes it to our mailbox, even though the address is clearly printed on the envelopes. It happens regularly. It's such an inconvenience missing so much important mail that requires us to inform the senders, and have them re-issue mail that we may never receive here. No idea who in my household it's even For. Never mind tracking etc. when I called they mentioned it's not uncommon for drivers to take all mail to post office when the box fills up. My box was not full, The driver left all my mail, just decided to take the package, which they said was weird. First of all I have to say that the health of the community is at risk with this location. There are signs posted everywhere asking everyone to wear masks in the post office, even outdoors. When I asked the desk clerk what I could do regarding a package that showed delivered in my mailbox along with other items she sent me to the side door and asked me to write my address on a piece of paper... The man in the photo opened the door to help us and while NOT wearing a mask or anything to protect us from him, and then proceeded to also open the plastic shield that guarded us from him. In a global pandemic this man showed zero signs of care for his community. I was already taken aback by his lack of concern for anyones health including his own while talking to us two feet apart. Then I was even more surprised when he was unwilling and unable to look up my tracking number...in fact he outright refused to help after I pointed out his lack of concern for health. He said we're done and said I was rude... this man acted as a thug and refused to help, calling the man behind me in front of me without even entering the tracking number into his system. When I stood my ground and asked that he help me (not to mention my wife who stood by asking him to be reasonable) he called the police. Obviously there was no event with the police, in fact they never even interacted with me. The police officer walked past me and started harassing another customer. At least the officer had the decency to put his face mask on before entering the post office. My apologies to Issaquah PD who were needlessly summoned to the scene by a power tripping health conscious-less post master. read more

This post office staff is by far the worst. They needed my signature for a package, but they just left a note on our door saying I need to pick up my package at the post office. I was home all day but they didn't knock or rang a door bell. Strange. I went to pick up my package bring the note, then for some reasons an Asian lady started to yell at me because I went there too early to pick up my package. The note clearly said, it will be available to pick up after 4:00pm. So I went there after 4:00pm. Simply, she didn't want to search my package. She was complaining that she can't find it and blaming me for not being home to receive it. I told her I was home but she didn't care to hear what I said. She finally found my package and throw it at me. I filed a complaint through The USPS website, but that doesn't meant anything. Update: I had to go into the post office a couple weeks ago, the same rude lady was yelling at people at the counter unnecessarily. Seriously, what going on??? read more

He was doing a lot of sighing, rolling his eyes if we ask any question, answering like you should have already known the answer. If he is sick or didn't want to help please don't. I live in Issaquah and this is the closest Post Office to my house. I have been going here for several years and it is the worst USPS office I have ever been to. Every time I go in, it gets worse. I went in last week to return mail several packages for my Mom and had to wait in line for the one counter that was open. The line was backing up and the postal worker at the counter seemed to be having trouble with his current customer, so he went into the back room and never reemerged. After about 20 I finally got tired of waiting without seeing any interest from the workers in the backroom (which I could hear talking) in helping out. One lady came out, kept looking down and deliberately not making eye contact or speaking to anyone or giving an explanation to the people waiting in the ever-expanding long line. They never have enough people to staff the customer service counter, however, there seem to be workers in the back room who refuse to come out and help. This kind of service is unacceptable. The Post Offices in the US have always had a reputation of being efficiently run but this office is not living up to the mark. The manager or Postmaster, whichever is running this office needs to get his/her act together. read more

There is a reason this particular post office only has two stars. I am giving it half of that only because it is the lowest option I can choose on Yelp, but in reality it should be zero Stars. Not like it matters, it's a government facility, but what other recourse do I have? Since moving to the area, the Gilman post office and more specifically my carrier has delivered six of my packages to the wrong address. There is a neighbor a few blocks away with the inverse house number and Street, and the carrier is too blind or too dumb to navigate my packages to the right location. And going to the actual post office for any type of resolution is a complete waste of time. Every employee I have spoken to their is totally incompetent. On top of that they simply do not care. For example, the most recent required that I make for separate visits to the post office to try and resolve. Each time, I asked to hold this particular package at the post office for pickup, because their website is broken and does not let you hold mail online. Each and every time I was told to write my information down and my package would be held, and I would receive a phone call when ready to pick up. Each and every time I never received even a peep from an actual person, and my tracking status continually flip- swapped between customer pickup requested and delivery reschedule. Why their system or a person kept switching it back is baffling, but my patience and confidence in this post office and government service in general are beyond salvage. The Postal Service really needs to implement the option for a customer to permanently have packages held for pickup. Until that time, I will do everything I can to avoid using or receiving packages through USPS and this post office in particular. read more

The line was pretty long so there was an employee asking people if about certain things to help move the line faster (picking up mail, sending things via Priority First Class, etc) and buying stamps via credit card was one of them. I needed to buy 250 postcard stamps and was just planning to buy coils/sheets. The guy pulled me out of line, asked me how many stamps I need and when I told him I needed 250, he said "sounds like you need coils", and put my order into the self service machine (which I've never used before). Instead of distributing coils or sheets, the machine started printing ONE STAMP AT A TIME, every 3-5 seconds. I couldn't cancel the order and the guy just looked at me and shrugged when I asked if this is how it would print all 250. Long story short, I waited at that machine WAY LONGER than I would've stood in line (about half an hour and all the people who were ahead of me were long gone) and the printer stopped printing only because it ran out of labels. The guy who directed me to the machine was very unhelpful and even joked "you're still here?" as if my time isn't valuable even though I had to get back to work as these stamps were for a time sensitive project. I asked if I could exchange the 174 INDIVIDUAL STAMPS for coils and or sheets and they said no and just sold me the difference using a coils and sheet (which took another 10-15 minutes because the workers kept helping other people ahead of me). A 15 minute trip took almost an hour because I kept getting ignored and was very, very poorly advised. I've always supported USPS but this and another racially targeted instance (at the same location) is really disappointing and turns me off from wanting to support them. read more

And there are at least 5 stations (but never more than 3 people working them) and usually only 2. Furthermore, I used to leave my mail outside in the drop box. After I had lost mail, I decided to walk my fat a** in to drop it inside. Well, that did not fix it. I still had multiple pieces (on different occassions) lost. I'm fed up. I actually drive 7 miles away to go to a different post office now. Can you believe that? It's a post office...I don't know why people are complaining about line ups. There are 4 employee stations and a town of people trying to pay postage and conduct other business every day. I find it rather convenient. As for the post office itself, it is easy to get in and out of the post office parking area, and they have all the standard amenities of any other typical post office, including PO boxes, postage, boxes, and live help during normal business hours, etc. To me it is no different than any other post office around the US, and the prices I find to be comparable to FedEx or UPS. read more

It's been over a year and the Issaquah Post Office staff and drivers continue to deliver poor service to include lying and laziness. Since my last review drivers have continued to be hit or miss about actually knocking on your door or just lazily leaving a 'We Missed You..." slip in your box. While you're home. And able to watch their mail trucks drive by. Office staff are still generally rude, problematic, and continue to appear to hate their lives. The inside of the building itself is also still trashy and generally grungy, at least from the two or three times I've unfortunately had to set foot inside. One day we can hope, as a community, that whoever passes as a manager will actually look at the online reviews here and on other sites and maybe actually change things. Probably not, but one can dream. read more
