Very disappointed in this post office. Delivered my package only once and left a notice. I did must have three out the notice thinking it was for something else I had to pick up at the post office. I am upset because they did not even attempt to deliver the item again, or even leave it with the leasing office in front of my apartment. Instead they ended up sending it back to the sender and of coarse I found out way too late that they had my package the whole time. We need to get a better mailing system out here. It's been over a year and the Issaquah Post Office staff and drivers continue to deliver poor service to include lying and laziness. Since my last review drivers have continued to be hit or miss about actually knocking on your door or just lazily leaving a 'We Missed You..." slip in your box. While you're home. And able to watch their mail trucks drive by. Office staff are still generally rude, problematic, and continue to appear to hate their lives. The inside of the building itself is also still trashy and generally grungy, at least from the two or three times I've unfortunately had to set foot inside. One day we can hope, as a community, that whoever passes as a manager will actually look at the online reviews here and on other sites and maybe actually change things. The skinny: They are rude and over-charge for items. This is the worst post office I've been to. First, I was over-charged for my items (the only way I know this is because I sent the same items at a different post office for a lower price). When I asked about the price discrepancy, I was told that I should just go back to the other post office. I mentioned that it was not a very nice thing to say, and the woman shrugged it off. I thought I would look past it and just send another envelope, she told me that I needed to pay an extra 71 cents. When I asked her why, she said it was "bulky" (see pics). If you need to renew or get a passport, I'd recommend not going to Issaquah. We had an appointment and waited 40 minutes before having to make two counter attempts to ask and then a phone call to the post office before a rude man comes to the door, puts his head out and asks why we need to see him. He says to do it by mail. However, we needed photos so he took us back. He also had a horrible attitude. Another government worker WE tax payers pay for who Goes Postal. Hey man... if you hate people and your job at the passport office that much, maybe you should go work in a place where you have no human interaction. Worst post office ever. Constant problem with the automated machines; on a long weekend, they are guaranteed to run out of postage, though they will "happily" take your money. Then, when you show up with your receipt to try and get a refund, the agents will only refund in postage, and if their drawer is short, they'll try to not give you all your money back. No wonder the USPS is in so much financial trouble. read more

WARNING! whomever our mailcarrier is..they wrote a direct threat to sequester and commandeer our mail..because of an occupational annoyance with customers resubmitting generalized mail back into outgoing mail slot. This post office located off of Gilman is large and spacious with plenty of parking. The lines were reasonable inside and service was quick.

This post office doesn't answer their phones! They have been bouncing my package around for 3 weeks now. Gave my correct address and nothing is happening. Had to call my fabulous (!) Maple Valley postoffice for help in forwarding this package to me. He then found out that the package should have been sent back to sender on 1-12 and today is 1-30 so they have kept my stuff there for 18 days instead of sending it on Jan 12. They have messed up my in-laws forwarding which happens every year and without fail there is a problem. Mistakes can happen but they are pretty consistent. Not answering phones is unforgivable however in my opinion. read more

I can understand having a bad day, but seriously, every time my husband or I have to mail a package we cringe knowing we'll have to go to the post office. The employees there seem angry at life! They seem to purposely move slowly (always a long line) and seem irritated when its your turn and they have to deal with you. It's a post office. It's a big post office. It's a big post office with tons of parking outside. In that regard, it's pretty awesome to me. This post office is generally well stocked too, so if I'm wandering in with a big pile of stuff to mail out (aka the holiday rush), this is a great place for me to just bring in the gifts and start packing. The staff here are generally very nice, so I don't mind coming in here too much. The only downside is the wait is long, but I've noticed that at every single post office I've gone to, the wait seems pretty long. I don't know if it's just that some of the people move slow because they can, but sometimes, it really does feel like an eternity. One thing I do like about the PO boxes here is that they are accessible 24 hours (not all post offices have that), as well as accessible automated drop boxes that you can get your mail weighted and stamped after hours - definitely another wohoo from me! read more

I should have read reviews prior to going to this passport office. It was the only one available, so I signed up. The person who does the passport processing started swearing at me (using F-bombs) from the minute I walked in. All because I had forgotten to bring a photo-copy of my birth certificate and only had the original. I was trying to ask if I need to reschedule when he grabbed my documents, continued to swear at me and walked into the back room to make copies. He started complaining to a co-worker about how customers and never prepared for passport appointments and was cussing and kicking the copier while talking with the co-worker. He didn't close the door so I could hear the whole conversation. Upon coming back out with the copies he told me I was "lucky" because the copiers were mostly working today. I told him it would have been OK if he told me they can't make copies and I would have just returned another time. This diffused his tension a little and he stopped yelling at me at this point. I was trying my best to hold my own composure while also keeping an eye on the exit just in case his aggression became physical. I should NEVER be scared of a customer service worker being aggressive, especially when I was being calm and apologetic that I forgot one piece of my application. I will never return to this office for anything and recommend you go anywhere else possible for passport application. read more

I had to leave work early, twice... in order to talk to these people because they don't answer their phone (which they told me in person that it's a management choice and they don't have to answer, so they disconnect their line) after leaving my information, I was told I would get a call the next morning, still never did. So that's awesome! I left again with no answers. My package was said to have been delivered in my LOCKED mailbox at 1:37PM which clearly it wasn't. They told me that the carrier couldn't remember what he had done with it.. and I quote " Hmm. Yup he doesn't remember. Better open up a claim." SLOWEST SERVICE! I really dislike coming here, especially when I am mailing out a package. Don't even think about coming here around the holidays because the line can be out the door. It's also confusing when you step in, if you just want to drop off a package that is ready to be sent out because there is no clear indication anywhere to drop off your package. You kind of just hope to make eye contact with one of the workers, which won't happen, and then the people in the line glare at you, thinking you're trying to get service before them. Usually a pretty long line in here, but they do generally move pretty fast. Their Automated Postal Centers are really helpful if you're not paying cash. I really wish I could go check my mail without being hounded by people from some organization offering fliers and wanting you to sign up for this or that though. The guy who runs the passport office is a grade-A asshole. We showed up with all our paperwork ready to go - we just needed photos taken, and my husband needed the in-person application bit. The passport office was closed - door closed, lights off, blinds drawn - and we only talked to the guy who works in that office because he came out TO MAKE SURE THE DOOR WAS LOCKED. It was obvious he had no appointments today, yet he absolutely refused to help us. We asked him where else we could go to get our photos taken care of, and he was completely unhelpful. I was stunned by his nasty attitude and total lack of basic customer service skills. This is why the post office is such a cluster. Because your employees are thankless jerks who treat their customers like garbage, because they know they can't get fired for it. read more

Traditional sorry post office. Never enough employees, wait in line 5 to 25 minutes. Staff seems like you are inconveniencing them with simple questions. Always dirty with papers or leaves on the floor. Only good thing about this place is that it is generally somewhat stocked with product and does have a kiosk so you don't have to always interact with the customer service agents. read more

This is a great little post office. We used to live in Seattle and will head down to Issaquah to use this one instead. Today we called them because I had accidentally sent a package to my old Issaquah address vs the new. This was pretty last minute as the mail was sent out for delivery just as we called. So they had to do some fancy work to track down the package. About mid-day they gave us a call and let us know that they had found it! Hooray! Pretty awesome. :) read more

I know this review is going to fall on deaf ears (the people running that s*it show), but a place cannot be run any poorly than the Gilman St post office in Issaquah. Luckily a package that I was waiting for to be delivered was insured and when I got home I wasn't terribly shocked to see it NOT on my front door like it was stated to be on their online tracking site. I called their office and they told me that there was no unit number on the package. Fine, here is my unit number so please let the driver know. So, the next day I go to the office to confirm all this and then I'm told that the delivery driver did in fact drop off the package and there was a unit number on the package. Which BS lie am I supposed to believe? I know you don't care and nothing I say or do will change anything, however, I'm done with you. I'm going to find another place to send/receive my packages. This is my local post office and I've been here a dozen times to date. Lines have been reasonable (from no wait to a 20-minute wait), employees have been generally helpful and do their best, and my packages and letters have all reached their intended destinations to date. I am missing two packages. I have received other people's packages and did return them to the correct address but mine just have not been returned. I have found mail that the carrier dropped on the ground. I saw him do it. I will not be ordering any thing that is delivered by USPS as I do not trust them and with good reason. The people are nice enough at the counter, I mean I believe they do their best. But the system, the process At the US Post Office blows chunks. This is the 2nd package they lossed for me from Amazon. I am told the problem is Amazon tracking numbers are not recognised by the Post Office therefore when they receive packages they don't have a way of processing it through their system. This post office NEVER has their phones "on". Doesn't even ring once before a message says the person you are trying to reach is unavailable. Hello?!?! Back in June I came into this post office asking for my wedding invitations to be in "hand canceled" or "hand processed" so that there was not that large ugly barcode on the bottom of the wedding envelopes. I offered to pay the surcharge price for "hand processing" but the woman at the counter told me that it's impossible to have that done and that the US Postal Service doesn't do that anymore. She told me that there was no way possible not to have that barcode on the bottom of any envelopes. I got frustrated and left. I ended up going to the Fall City post office where a very happy, friendly, smiling USPS agent told me it wouldn't be a problem and that he could have them "hand processed" without any surcharge. I got the see the envelopes after they were mailed to family members and saw that he had indeed hand processed them and that there were no barcodes at the bottom of the envelopes. Thank you Fall City post office employee for helping me. Thank you Issaquah post office employee for lying to me and not being helpful at all. Ps. Issaquah post office have the GROUCHIEST employees EVER! Did they recruit from the TSA? Seriously make me want to use other carriers to send mail. read more

Read through the reviews here, and they are an absolute mirror of my experience. The mail carrier on our route routinely: - Delivers our packages to someone else - Puts the package in the neighborhood lock box, but then gives puts the key in a neighbor's mailbox. - Damages or otherwise mishandles our packages. I once witnessed him throw a package about 15 feet onto our porch. - Marks signature-required items as "delivery attempted" without ever actually coming to the door to deliver. The postal workers refuse to deliver packages and then fraudulently enter in the system that they attempted delivery. Management claims that USPS policies do not apply to them. We had an appt for passport renewals and I called a week prior to confirm as the gentleman Cory Fox that I spoke to didn't seem to be very sharp. Confirmed our appt. When we arrived they didn't have us scheduled!! This is no easy task for a busy family. Cory Fox was EXTREMELY rude to us as this mistake was HIS! He nervously laughed and didn't seem "all there". Drugs maybe?? Whatever his problem it is real and he is the type to bring a gun to work!! Horrible experience. Worst post office I've ever dealt with, by far. I agree with all the other posters complaining of long lines, but that's not the issue for me. They sent the package we'd ordered to the wrong address (our neighbor's house), but that's not really the issue, either-- mistakes happen, I suppose. The issue is the absolutely abysmal customer service. We had an issue that we needed assistance with (long story short, the carrier delivered our package to the wrong address and then lied about it; we just wanted to try to track down our package). As numerous other reviewers have complained, this post office doesn't answer their phones. After wasting a lot of time trying to get through, I went down to the office and stood in the (as usual) very long line. When I got to a window, the (unhelpful, rude) person at the counter showed no interest whatsoever in helping me, expressed no apology for the problem, insisted she could do nothing, said I'd have to talk to the supervisor. No, the supervisor is not available now. You'll have to call on the phone. Here's the number. No, the supervisor won't call you; you have to call in. No, we can't tell you at what time the supervisor will be available. She took my name and number, but obviously just to make me go away-- she showed no interest in trying to solve my problem, and certainly the office never called me back. And, as I expected, trying to get through to their supervisor at the number she provided was an exercise in futility; I could never once get any human to answer the phone there, ever, nor was there any way to leave a message. It's truly appalling. I've been to a lot of post offices, and this is by far the worst one I've ever encountered. My mother went out to put a mail into the outbox and the delivery guy happen to be there. He was sorting out the mail that was already in the outbox, so my mother handed the mail to him. The delivery guy took my mothers mail and gave her an aggressive stare; as if he was having a bad day, then threw the mail into the truck. Customer service told me they couldnt do anything about it and told me to go to the location and talk to them. Rude, arrogant employees even at their location, atleast their supervisor was able answer my questions clearly. I hope my mail got delivered instead of being out aside out of spite. read more
