Modern and reasonably quiet but with a lively, productive vibe. Bathed in natural light, with plenty of seating of various kinds: long tables, big tables, small tables, lounge chairs. This is MY library. I live 3 miles from it. I used to visit this library a lot in person before reading ebooks was possible. Now I try to do all my reading that way and visit less frequently. This was a poorly designed and thought out library, way too small for the community it supports, one with the highest income by zip code per person for any similar sized city in the US. The parking lot is too small, the spaces too tight and the parking garage is horrible. It is dark with huge concrete pillars everywhere and with tiny parking spaces. The concrete posts are scratched and chipped from drivers hitting them with their cars. I had to rescue a driver whose new Volvo was wedged tightly against one of the pillars and she couldn't figure out how to extract herself. The side of the car was completely smashed. The parking lot is frequently full, forcing us to park in an adjacent church parking lot and hike to the library. The entitled patrons who can't be bothered to park in the church parking lot park in the 5 minute short term book drop parking stalls forcing those of us who came solely to return books to hike back and forth from the church simply to drop off our books. I like that they have a copy machine with which your library card offers a few free black and white copies a week. A color copier too that offers fewer. As a note, the Snohomish Library system is WAY more generous with their free copying privileges. They also have a much larger selection of books, and more of them per title. The gas fireplace is nice. I've sat there a few times while reading magazines. The Redmond and Issaquah libraries are far superior to the Sammamish library. They are located too far away for me to use often, but I'm always sad when I visit them and am reminded that MY library is so diminished in comparison. read more

This is my favorite library in King County system hands down. There's so much this library has to offer other than a great selection of books. It's very well kept, has lots of natural light, good hours, computers with programs, friendly and helpful employees, and tons of seating. I do prefer to sit in the quiet room tucked away in the back of the library. The library is kept at a moderate noise level for most of the day but once the schools are let out, the kids migrate to the library and it can get a bit noisy. During the busier parts of the day, the parking can be tough (out front or down below in the garage). But, people come and go so it may just take a few minutes for a spot to open up. read more

Very busy library or so it seems. It was closed on Saturday but open on Sunday's. They do have underground parking. They have a fireplace inside and there are many teens/young high schooler's and older folks here to do work or "older seniors" who fall asleep napping on the seats. It has bright open windows for a gloomy day. It is near YMCA which is great for a walk and hike as well. The library is well used but lacks "kid friendly activities" or so it seems to me. The selection of fantasy fiction is a bit slim per my kids. There is only 1 or 2 rooms you can reserve online. read more

One star because you can read calmly before 2 pm and the staff is very helpful. But why one star? My child was getting tutoring here after 4 pm and we had to change it to our home. This place is like a park after 2 pm. I remember when I was a kid going to a library was like going to a church. No one was talking and if you will whisper the librarian or your mother will say "shhhhhh". This have changed I know but still I do not understand why staff do not have a sign that says" QUIET PEOPLE READING OR STUDYING" whatever. Parents are really irresponsible letting their kids run, whine, and yell like they are in a jungle. I have seen parents talking to their kids in a loud voice also. Unbelievable. I am glad my child's tutor comes to our home for tutoring and wow what a difference. Blah! read more

Great library..But I agree with previous review about it being loud when school is finished. This is the hang out for kids. I was on a computer trying to do some important work and I had about 6 kids behind me being very loud. Get here right when the doors open and you can have a peaceful two hours. read more

Just a couple of librarians at Checkout area that are not "people persons." If you just watch for a few minutes, you'll know which ones those are. I'm not sure why those indiviudals are kept on. (Management -- helllooo, are you paying attention?!?) Kind of like this at the Post Office. That being said, this in no way detracts from the other knowledgeable and friendly (volunteers, Reference) staff at this branch! read more

Beautiful library with nice views of the surrounding greenary through the back glass windows. The staff is helpful and there is quiet study rooms for use as well. Book collection is not very big but transfer is available from other King county libraries for free. read more

This library is small but it has a decent collection. The foreign language book collection is not as large but it has a nice collection of DVDs and graphic novels (aka mangas). There were quite a few kids there collaborating on final studies when I went but I did not find the noise level unbearable. Its west-facing wall has many windows, making this a warm and sunny place to sit and read on a winter afternoon. read more

The website claims its open but doors are locked and its still under construction?? The entrance is not very well planned and i found no sign saying its a library so I spent half hour circling the area. Back to the Issaquah library I go. read more
