Gahhhhh, a library in Bellevue is open for browsing! I had to call and double check when I read that the Lake Hills Library was open, as it's been way too long since I've been inside a library. It definitely felt good to be back, and am glad to have discovered this Lake Hills branch for the first time. With COVID-19 restrictions, the Lake Hills Library is only open every other hour, as they close the library every other hour for cleaning and sanitizing. I made sure to check the hours of when it was open and visited the first hour on a Saturday. There were a few people inside, and they do keep count of how many people enter. Fortunately, there was no line at the opening hour when I visited. Masks are required. This branch is smaller compared to others, but they have a good selection of books. I found a lot of best sellers here and everything in between. The fiction section isn't very large, but again, I definitely was able to find a stack to take home. As for the non-fiction section, there is more, given the range of topics. Towards the back of the library are where the children's books are. They have closed off all seating, tables, conference/study rooms and the area where magazines are due to COVID-19. Staff is there to help out at the reference desk, but you do self-check out, which is an easy process. An hour goes by so fast! This was my first time at the Lake Hills Library and since it's the only branch in Bellevue that's open for browsing, it won't be my last visit. I'm glad to know this library is here, located in a shopping center with eateries and plenty of parking around. I wouldn't mind spending another hour in search of books here again.

I love this library, even though it is quite small compare to other locations. By signing up library card, you can have so many great access to all the books, audios, computer, and printing service. This location has large windows which allows super good sunlights during the day. The meeting rooms are also large and pretty new. It is close to my place, so we come here a lot. It is also a great location for parents with small kids because they have an outside playground where you can have your kids have some fun.

Don't take advantage of it, ya'll, I mean don't take advantage of it in a bad way - we need this to stay; and the parking lot is gigantic. I had no idea the last time I came. This time I delved down below and yikes! It was almost a little scary lol. Gigantic tunnel of parking - and crazily busy all of the sudden as Sunday got later - maybe students crash studying for Monday. Okay enough about the parking. Love the art, both the public and the student art pasted inside. Meeting spaces, event space. The library itself is down the rather cavernous hallway - the library itself feels pretty gigantic; enjoyed browsing the suggested new titles on offer. The used book store appendage outside the main doors was open this time around during my visit. I wish they took more than just cash or check. Could not partake : ( I saw tons of appealing books and also they had puzzles and puzzle books. A great place to spend a couple of hours in Bellevue.

And it was a solid library with books to explore and purchase. The Redmond library is located across from city hall and is walking distance to the Redmond Transit Center. When I visited on a Friday afternoon the library was quiet and did not have as many people here as the Bellevue location normally has, which was nice. When you enter the library, there are shelves near the entrance for books to purchase from the Friends of the Library sale, which is worth a gander for some really cheap deals. I was easily able to return books and browse through the selection, as the different sections were easy to find and there was ample seating. Not far from where I work out, I'll make Redmond library an option for when I need to return or pick up books.

I have to say, the staff at this library set the bar HIGH for KCLS - engaging my children (even the shy one glued to my leg) in what they like to read, finding books for them that they haven't read before but match some of their interests and validating their opinions about the books they were reading. They also ran a tight ship organizing a popular summer lunch program. On this particular day, there weren't enough bag lunches for the number of people who came - but they scrambled and arranged for more. Wish we lived closer so we could enjoy this beautiful community more!
