Woman working there today 11/13 couldn't be less helpful or friendly. She had a tone the moment I walked in when I asked her for some help as I'm not used to mailing boxes out. Dear Post Office, Please retrain one of your staff members to be less rude and dramatic! I was there at 4:25pm on the 9/9 and need to mail an international letter. My clerk (#97 she is great!) verified the cost of postage and the envelope that I brought in is fine to use. She went to back to grab the stamp for me, at same time I was trying to glue on the envelope. Suddenly, from two counters away, one of your employees (sorry, I don't know her name, she is about 5'3 tall, slim, African American women) started yelling at me 'do not lick your envelope!' Meanwhile she smacked her forehead and muttered to her customer about me 'OMG, she licked her envelope'. She scared me, I stopped what I'm doing, frozen like it's my fault. When my counter clerk came back, she tried to pass the stamp and a glue stick to me, but this crazy employee shouted to us 'don't give the glue stick to her, because she just licked her envelope. I don't want her use my glue stick'! my counter clerk had to take the glue stick back and gave me a 3M tape instead. read more

Drive up box was stolen about a year ago. I was told by an employee that it would be replaced but it's still missing. A couple of years ago, the self service kiosk was updated to allow acceptance scans. It's great because you don't have to stand in line to get the package scanned. There is only one kiosk though so you sometimes have to wait to use it. Illegal parking has been getting worse from blocking ingress/egress to the alley to parking in the no stops zone on California Avenue to making your own parking spot in the lot next to marked stalls and by where the drive up box used to be. I still don't like having to go here but dropping mail inside the post office is the most secure option. Plus when I have to scan, that can't be done anywhere else. Guess I love my business so much I put up with the PO shenanigans. Someone mentioned a rude 5'3" African American woman in another review. I have to agree. She's very bossy, telling people the self service kiosk is available when people already know that but come to the counter because there's a line at the kiosk too. Naja is awesome. read more

The people that work there are lazy and unhelpful. I went there to ship a vinyl and they had zero assistance for me whatsoever. They did not explain the pricing for anything nor did they want to. When I asked them what was the best way to ship the vinyl they said that we have boxes over there and to go figure out which one is gonna work for you. I cannot stress this enough when I say that customer service is a lost art and nobody in that entire facility had any whatsoever. Please hire better staff thank you. also, when I asked them if they had any bubble wrap or protective equipment for the vinyl that I was sending, they told me they didn't have any. I am not the smartest person in the world, but what kind of place that you ship things does not have bubble wrap? Very poor experience. read more

Get local posts office located in the West Seattle Junction. This post office has the self serve machine for packages which is excellent when the line is long . Plus USPS has live humans for handling at the counters serving all your postal needs from stupid questions , stamps and packages. Be nice to these people there doing a job you don't wanna. PO Box's are also for rent so Id enquirer about one should the need arrive. You may get stuck on waiting list but not very long from my experience. Street Parking is available yet can be a challenge during peak times. USPS has a medium sized parking lot which is open most of the day. Handicap parking space open for those with special needs. Grab a book of stamps for the road and support the USPS. read more

We all have our Post Office horror stories: long lines, slow service, indifferent staff, etc. I've been using the West Seattle Post Office now for about 11 years and consider it the best I've ever used. This PO has a friendly, small-town feel to it. The staff have been there a long time, and are very pleasant. I wonder if this is due to very good management or if this is just a West Seattle thing (people are just more pleasant in WS than a lot of other Seattle nabes; it could have something to do with the proximity to the water?)? My only critique is they don't have the full selection of the free Priority Mail boxes and envelopes (could be due to the size of the location; this place is pretty small as POs go). But otherwise a real gem of a Post Office! read more

Talk about nickel and diming your patrons. They don't even provide self sealing boxes like every other Usps. I just mailed over $120 with of packages in Nevada with usps and it was the most pleasant experience. I come home to Washington and use Usps and it was like how else can we take your money today. Convenient location, otherwise its a 15 minute drive to Westwood. Parking is limited, but if you avoid rush times you'll find a spot. Many employees have been here for years. They are experienced. Read the posted rules for your packaging and things will go smoothly for you, otherwise it seems there's a charge for everything. Despite UPS/Fedex and republican efforts to eliminate the USPS, I for one am glad they're here, and support my local postmaster. They're great, and my local mailman Ray is tops! read more

The typical post office, but this one is so small it's quaint. The parking lot has about 4-5 spaces, and the line for cars to drop off mail can get long - which means more than 4 cars in a row causes back up on California. Usually no one around at night so it's nice to get in and out fast. read more

Went to drop off an item with a prepaid packing slip. Was told I couldn't use a box and should tape my package...then told me I had to pay $4.00 for packing tape. Seriously?? Had my mail held while I was out of town for a couple weeks. I'm still not sure I got all my mail but, That's the way it goes. It's just the US postal service after all there's no sense in worrying about it now. I like the fact that this place is small enough to feel like a neighborhood postal office. These folks work so hard, and yet always try to maintain a good attitude. The guy Steve is the most dedicated and hard working clerk. Probably the worst customer service imaginable. Was quickly told that they did not have a package big enough for the item I wanted to ship out (3x5 canvas) didn't even bother to look in the back. One of the customer service reps finally decided to take another look and found an overly massive box for my item. He then handed me a pair of scissors so that I could awkwardly try to cut through and shape the box for the item - didn't even bother helping. They also lost my PRESCRIPTION from my doctor. Seriously the worst! Time for a new set of staff members who are not as miserable as these people. read more

Long lines are typical, but the counter staff's fast service keeps things moving quickly. The automated postage machine (front, left) seems under-utilized: I imagine most people could use it and save themselves a lot of time, but talking with postal workers seems to be the preferred option of most West Seattlites. I like that there's a large work area (left side) away from the line--very helpful for figuring out labels without backing things up. Staff is friendly and can advise you on the best way to send just about anything. Will def return. read more

I am so pleased with the West Seattle post office. First of all, they actually answer the phone which is shocking these days. I spoke to a live person who was kind and helpful. He also gave me the answers i needed to get my mail that has been on hold while I was moving to NY. I miss West Seattle a lot and I will miss my local post office for sure! Great Servie!! read more

The workers are actually friendly, but thy are not the fastest bunch. They also only have 5 parking spaces for customers. The next closest post office is a 15 minute drive away, so you would think they would invest in this area instead of causing a line to back up into the street. read more

This is in relation to their delivery service. I'm not reviewing their site since they don't differ from door to door (and I have nothing but sour comments to share). Delivery-wise, this place is pitiful. I track my packages and watch them update to "out for delivery". Some days my mailman doesn't even get around to delivering my mail. Today I called asking why my 2 day priority package which was due for delivery 2 days ago was still sitting in Federal Way. I was casually told they were 4 days behind on mail and I should probably see it 3 days from now. What exactly is it that you guys do over there? It sure isn't any form of work. The people who work the counter at this Post Office are awesome! They've been there for years and they are very pleasant and helpful. The reason I gave three stars *and my reason for writing this review* is this: There are three parking spots for customers plus one handicapped spot and around ten for their delivery trucks that customers can use until 2pm. My problem is that the last three times that I've gone there after 2pm there have been several open spots for the delivery trucks yet one of their vans will be parked in customer parking. When you only have three spots for customers that should be an obvious no-no. If all of the parking for delivery vehicles had been taken I would understand but when you have five open slots that I'm not allowed to use and you are allowed to use why take one of the three slots that I would be allowed to park in? It just seems like one of their drivers is lazy and selfish and no one bothers to say anything to them about being courteous to the public. Too bad. Particularly when the staff inside are so wonderful. read more

I have had nothing but problems with this post office. They do not honor postal money orders and the carrier for my neighborhood routinely fails to deliver packages to my door. Most of the time I get a notice that he "tried" to get a hold of me, but he never rang my doorbell (my doorbell is connected to my cell phone so I know if someone tried to ring it). On the plus side, they are always polite when they wrangle thier excuses and assure me this will never happen again . . .yeah right! No wonder the post office is going out of buisness. read more

Why do I think someone was too lazy to finish their route? Expecting an 11X14 art print today. Didn't come. When I checked the tracking I got this message ..... "We attempted to deliver your item at 7:52 pm on December 15, 2016 in SEATTLE, WA 98116. Delivery of the item could not be completed because the mail receptacle was blocked...". Bullshit. Nothing is blocking my mail box. Nothing is blocking my front or back door (off the alley) to prevent them from having completed the delivery. Why do I suspect someone was too lazy to finish deliveries and went back to the post office and just claimed it was undeliverable. Now I will take my time to go to the freaking post office and pick the package up as they are unable to do their basic job of delivering the U.S. Mail. I'm not going to even talk about the carriers who continually deliver mail with my house number but a different street. I usually just leave it and they pick it up the next day and hopefully deliver it to the right person. But maybe not, last time it came back into my box two days later! Wow. read more

Went to send an Amazon return. The box was open so I asked to use a 13" length of packing tape to securely close it. The worker said I had to buy a whole roll of tape and that I could not use the tape that was sitting on the desk of the person right next to him. I would have paid for the 13" piece of bloody tape if that's what this was about but no way was this guy going to cave on his 'principles'. I'm not a cheap person. I was just hoping for something like customer service. Especially during the holidays. I will never understand the need for people on the business side of the counter to 'take a stand' or whatever against someone asking for a little help. Well I guess he won that battle. read more

Some people behind the counter here need to be fired. So done with this place. They actually returned a package with a prepaid label from PayPal because it was 2 Cents short on postage required. Just about every one in this building does their upmost to make life difficult. They are NO people, not YES people.. and that is a big problem. I don't write reviews on here often, so when I do, its serious. I have been going in here now for over 15 years. Its never changed. One Chinese woman in particular needs to be sent on a permanent retirement plan. She knows who she is. You can't use her tape on the counter, you have buy a roll. You can't use their address labels for any thing other than what is stated. These people drive me insane. Only one man behind the counter knows what its about and does every thing he can to make things happen and one colored woman who is pretty cool and both are not asian. I live in southwest seattle and Iam very very disappointed in the mailing services. I am specifically talking about the post office on TRENTON ST IN WEST SEATTLE...these delivers or "workers" are idiots. They obviously cant read English or at all because they continue and continue to put old tenants in our mail box! Yes they have changed their address but they still are putting it in...not only are they putting in the wrong mail they do not send our outgoing mail which means we have had late bills and will fight to have post office or whoever pay the late fees, there is no reason why my out going mail should sit in my box for 2 WEEKS COME ON PEOPLE DO YOUR JOBS! I do not recommend and the manager "freddy" is not doing anything! I have gone there over 5 times for a personal complaint and STILL NOTHINGIN BEING DONE. Just when I thought postal workers couldn't get any more lazy, this happens. I have a mailbox that's a slot inside my house. I left two Netflix DVDs in there for the postal carrier to pick up and mail for me. When I came back later in the day, I noticed the DVDs were still in the slot BUT with the new mail delivered ON TOP OF THEM! Really? HA, this place is an absolute joke. No one ever answers the phone, forwarding your mail never works. They only deliver mail to the address they have on file for you, so even if you get a letter with your name and address on it they wont deliver it. When you try to update your address on file they never tell their carrier to start to deliver mail. You need to call and complain before they deliver they mail. But like i said originally they never answer their phone. read more
