Even though this is the closest location to my house I usually go out of my way to avoid this location. I'll almost always make a point to go to Park Place Postal and then a side trip to Leschi Market instead of this location. Parking situation is terrible. "Service" is not a great descriptor for what you'll experience at the counter. Indifference and surly come to mind when thinking about the state of this location. Hours are variable and do not always match the posted opening times. It's a shame because the old Columbia City station used to be convenient and had some friendly, helpful staff. I avoid this one as much as possible. The traffic and parking is awful. There is no self serve kiosk. The entry has the most awkward and uncomfortable setup. It is not accommodating to more than one person. I actually live in Columbia City but prefer to use the Mercer Island location. The staff is great. read more

Came twice to try and send a package today. They were closed for lunch a few minutes before 1:00 (when it was meant to start) and then when I returned at 2:55 they would not let me get in line and very rudely told me they were already closed (they close at 3:00). The female postal working that is closing today 08/24/2024 is a has to be one of the worst employees I've ever came across in this establishment. I would rather spend the extra money and go to FedEx, UPS, or even travel by donkey than ever return to this post office. Not only is her demeanor nasty, but her attitude is just as bad. It makes you not want to enter the establishment, knowing that she's there. I've been coming to this post office since I was a small child, walking here hand in hand with my parents, and having this woman employed here is an utter nightmare. Something needs to be done. I don't know who to contact, but I would not frequent this place. I'd rather walk down Third Avenue at night than return to this post office. read more

The lady who closes today September 13th yelled at me for no reason. I was just taping the envelope on the side and she just started getting mad at me. I was not even blocking other customers or anything, she in fact was able to help other customers. I feel very frustrated because there's only so much I can do about it now. I really need to ship a package. The last 4 days in a row, I have showed up at 9am (when they are supposed to open). The first 3 days, no one was there. I even waited 30 minutes and nothing. I work a 9-5, like most people, and they are only open 9-5--which makes getting here very difficult. Today, someone opened on-time but they said they didn't have anyone who knew how to work the register? So.....I'm not sure what this lady was even doing. There were multiple people in line and we had to ring the bell multiple times for this lady to come out. She was also wearing headphones so she couldn't even hear us. Other times I've been in the employees all had AirPods in and didn't even see me or hear me. I would patiently stand there and eventually ring the bell, but I don't want to be rude. My point in saying all of this is because making time to go to the post office is already difficult, but they make it EVEN more difficult--actually, impossible--to get assistance. I have still not been able to mail my package. You don't know what I need to mail? It could be necessary, same with letters. I honestly never write reviews, but this is insane. The United States Post Office is a place that is 100% necessary and needs to stand as a reliable service--AND provide reliable services. That means opening on time, having workers who can work the register, and not having people just waiting around because you have headphones in and cannot hear. Or at least have a self serving kiosk. Its not hard. Figure it out. Or adjust your hours. read more

I am very disappointed and angry about the quality of the customer service at the Columbia City Post Office. I made a point of checking the hours of operation on the website before walking nearly a mile to the facility to mail a Christmas package. I arrived at 2:45pm, 15 minutes before the posted closing time, and I was actually inside the office waiting in line when I was told in very unfriendly terms that the post office was closed and that I would have to come back on Monday. There was no sign on the door nor notification on the website that they would stop serving customers early. Both of the female workers were borderline rude in their communication with no smiles nor any kind words of apology that people were being turned away. I know it's not easy working at the Post Office, but if the employees can't manage the slightest bit of consideration and kindness then perhaps they should not be working in a customer service job. read more

allow me to save you two hours of driving around. this branch closed on april 25th. but the new one at 3795 s Alaska st doesn't open until May 1st? Would have been nice to get a notice about this in the mail instead of having to carry my packages around town, which I now have to resort to paying for ups or FedEx to send this box for the former resident of my apartment which USPS delivered to the wrong address and should not have been my problem to begin with. Usually I have a great experiences at this usps but on this particular day carol decided to have her option on what I should be doing with my time instead of helping me with my package. I was in line on the phone speaking with my mother who isn't well and was in the hospital and then carol tells me she'll help me when I'm off the phone. I then say a few words under my breath about my mom being in the hospital and carol told me maybe I should go be with my mom instead of having an attitude with her. Raheem literally the rudest person I have ever interacted with. I called because my priority package was supposed to be delivered yesterday. The track said "out for delivery". I run an Etsy store so I'm very aware of how the system works. I expressed how unhappy I was that they marked my package out for delivery and did not deliver. He proceeds to yell telling me that that is system generated and there is nothing they can do about that. Which is a LIE! I will be calling corporate about him. I recorded the conversation so they can hear him yelling at me and me telling him to stop yelling at me and simply have a conversation. He then proceeds to say " I have to go now I have other people in front of me who don't think I'm being rude so can we end this conversation " how he even has a job there is beyond me. If you don't like customer service Raheem get a job where you don't have to interact with people because your people skills are trash! read more
