My complaint is not specifically with my local post office perhaps. We do quite a lot of business between Colorado and Port Townsend Washington. First class mail has taken up to 3 weeks to reach here, some never makes it at all. The system nation wide is broken, unreliable! With banks refusing deposits from non members into our accounts, there is no good way around the present situation. The usps nationally, is a disgrace! read more

This review is for Jim at the USPS Capitol Hill branch. He was friendly, efficient, patient and super helpful! The QR code i had was a priority shipping label (I didn't know that) and had reused an Amazon packaging to ship my product (those white and grey plastic bags). Jim quickly let me know my label is priority and I could just grab a box or a bubble wrap bag to ship my products (looks more presentable tbh). 10/10 experience :) read more

So I ordered something from Bestbuy and had it delivered to the post office. It showed up as delivered but when I went to get my package they said it wasn't there. This was in the 28th of March. Tell me why on the 4th of April I went to check my mail for some others packages and lo and behold! My Bestbuy package was there. I'm now having issues with another pack that was delivered on the 4 of April and they told me that the person who signed for it was on vacation and they don't have my package! USPS is one of the worst mailing service I have encountered, not just this location but the whole service is extremely frustrating and inefficient when it comes to handling lost packages. My wife had her degree transcripts mailed from another country to US in 4 days and USPS lost it while mailing from Capitol Hill to UW. And it becomes after this, no one, literally no one is owning this blunder. Every representative is blaming the other department within the organisation. And there is no way to tell if the package is lost. There timelines are in either in weeks or months to take any action. You have to wait 1-2 hours for every helpline call. It just sucks. I hope they hire some real people who take ownership and fix this system full of mess! read more

I really like this post office, yes the lines are long, but even if you had an employee at every stand the line will still be long because it's downtown Seattle, so what are you expect?! Every time I walk in everyone is extremely nice, one of the employees I think his name is Justin he literally goes out of his way to find packages for me because I ordered so much stuff and I'm so grateful for that. I would have to say there's no such thing as a negative experience, there's just your negative attitude towards the events that are already taking place. This post office is the one I always choose to go, even if I am in a different neighborhood. The line sometimes gets long but the customer service the regular staff provide to us is exceptional! The staff here are so kind, friendly, and very hard working. I have so many experiences that I was helped promptly, kindly and I see that they treat everyone with respect. 4.5 stars! Great, new post office that was set up just a block north of the old post office that was demolished last year. The place is smaller but is newer, and definitely more modern than the previous one on Broadway for sure. The post office workers were nice and helpful. They took the time to help answer my questions and were kind to lend a pen, etc when I needed to write down something last minute. P.S. the place can get pretty crowded. I got lucked out as when i went in, there was absolutely no line. 5 min after that, once i got everything done, i saw the line was at least 7 people long, with 2 post office workers...so..time yourself well to go when they are not too busy, else you'd probably end up waiting in a line for a while! read more

I rented a PO box online on December 2nd. I went down to this post office, finished all the paperwork, and was told that I had a PO box, but I would have to come back tomorrow for the key. I went back multiple times and every time I went back, they said to come back another time for the key because they didn't have it. I even left my phone number and asked them to call me when they had the key. They never called. Its almost a month later and still no key. I've never actually been able to use this PO box that I paid $45 for for this month and the next two months. This was a complete waste of money and time. read more

So. I know that this place gets a bad rap because of not so great customer service and long lines. So, the long lines are definitely true haha but with only 2 or sometimes 3 employees working at the front, that is to be expected. When you spend a long time in line, you do see a lot of things and during my time waiting, one employee really stood out to me. A foreign exchange student went up to the counter wanting to ship a box to his family in his home country however he wasn't sure what to do. One of the employees brushed him away telling him that he needed to go buy tape. I saw that student walk back to line/table and tape his box. When the student finished taping his box, he got back into line and a different employee saw him this time. This employee was Aileen, and she helped explain shipping options for the student. She noticed that there wasn't sufficient tape on one side of the box and helped reinforce the box with her own tape to help get the student's package secure enough to go on its journey. With another customer, she helped a guy save 6 dollars on shipping- she even stepped out from behind the counter to help get the guy a flat-rate box and help get his box into the flat-rate box and helped tape it for him. Although my package was boxed, taped, and ready to go, I do appreciate that she took so much effort into trying to help the customers and help make their experience at the post office more pleasant. If I ever go to this office again and get to work with her, it's really nice knowing that I am in good hands. I came at 5:15pm today and they were closed. They are open 9am-5:30pm during the week and I literally work 9-5. So I literally jump in my car at 5pm and head straight to the post office and it's closed?! Are you serious? This isn't like I can't get tacos if you close early, It's a POST OFFICE. read more

Long lines, rude employees... Both times I've been here, I've waited in long lines and then to top it off, got yelled and chastised at by the same employee, once for coming up to the counter too soon and another time for not knowing that I had to fill out a form beforehand. All of my other customer service experiences with the US Post Office have been positive, although there might still be long lines. This location needs a self-service kiosk to relieve the long queue and, more importantly, to avoid being treated rudely and harshly to. Good alternatives to being treated poorly are: the closest USPS self-service kiosk at 1150 23RD AVE, SEATTLE, WA 98122-4822, and the UPS at 505 Broadway E, Seattle, WA. Now generally, I don't have good experiences at the post office if any. Normally it's just in and out, get my things done, mail that package. However today was a different story. A friend of mine needed a mailbox and I had to go searching, since the first post office which we went to did not have boxes. So she said to go to the broadway location, and that they would have PO boxes. And yes, indeed they did. However we were uncertain of what she needed to get the box so I went to the counter for help. Unexpectedly service was on point. We had so many questions about the requirements and timing of getting keys, that I though we would have been blown off. However Anetta was amazing! I've had my business open in South Lake Union for nearly ten years and up until recently we have had our mail every single day by 10 a.m. our regular carrier retired and we have had a string of replacement mail carriers come through. I have a hard time getting my packages and now for 4 days in a row my Amazon Prime packages have not been delivered. A lot of the reviews for this post office talk about the employees, but those same three people behind the counter are always so kind and helpful to me. I frequent this post office often as I buy a lot of stuff online, and sure, the lines are usually (and understandably) long, but they really do keep very calm and collected despite how stressful it can be to cater to a long line of mostly impatient customers. I feel that they're very personable, knowledgeable, and kind. It's not their fault they're understaffed! They're just people! Just come prepared with your stuff when you don't have to rush to be anywhere else afterwards, and you'll be fine. read more

I would like to make a complaint about a post office clerk. I don't know her name but she is an African american woman. She seems very unhappy working there. Every time I go in there she is absolutely rude and condescending. I have seen her be rude to almost everyone she helps. This last situation really got to me. She had to make an example of me while talking down to me on "How and what to do when coming to a post office". I didn't have it completely taped and I usually bring the address on a post it in case I need to write it on a form. She didn't like that at all. She loves to make an example of everyone. I am not the type of person to make complaints I'm a manager and work in customer service myself. But this has been a problem for many people I know. I see other people on Yelp wrote about the same woman. And what gets me mad is the USPS website doesnt let you make a complaint online. Seems like an error happens. I am so ticked off at this Post Office on capital Hill Broadway Station. I have lived in the area 7 years. several years ago, mailman puts my packages in other peoples boxes by mistake. over 100 units in building. I buy 3D movies and I doubt that anyone else in my building has 3D TV. so someone gets my mail, they most likely cannot play them on a local tv or 3D TV as they are another region and will not play on USA players.They need all region Players. Several years ago, 7 movies not recieved, althought tracking says they were. One neighbor on a different floor than me said he got a package weeks earlier and opened it to find a movie and he told me it would'nt play. i was ticked and asked him why he did not return it or send it to the office. Now yesterday, two movies were somehow returned not delivered. First one film said Out for delivery 19 July 2019 at 9:03 am. Next notice was 5 hours later and said: "Rescheduled for Next delivery Day" at 2:10 pm. Then for some reason it went from my building back to the Post Office that same eveing of 19 July 2019 at approximately 10:05 pm informing me that it is now available for pickup. The post office closed at 5:30 that night making impossible for pick up. Now this morning I go to tracking and it says to me it is available for pick-up. Okay that was one of 2 packages. The other was even more stupidity from that post office. Said 19 July 2019, Out for delivery at 8:57 am. then at 10:30 am it now saiys it has again arrived at the Post Office 19 July 2019. Then for some odd reason it went form the Broadway post Office and arricved Seattle's Regional Distribution Center at 8:44 pm that evening of 19 July 2019. Now this morning I go to tracking and it says it arrived at the Broadway Station this morning of 20 July 2019 at 5:41 am. WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE. RUINED MY GREAT GRAND KIDS BIRTHDAY PRESENT. Started off with getting the wrong address inputted and the rest is history... called customer service # who told me this location is where my package would go to if they cannot deliver it, so ran to this location after work. Let me tell you the bedazzled rude Asian woman behind the counter who literally walked out the room and walked back in saying we don't got it here, "if it's the wrong address they would have taken it to 4th in Seattle, which is now close so here is their number call tomorrow." So I've done my due diligence and contacted your call center prior to showing up, I work close to 4th in Seattle. So why tell me to go here? Millions of people unemployed right now, imma tell that B*tch right now if you don't like your job, millions of other people will take your job. So maybe do yourself and others a favor and act like you give a sh*t about your job and livelihood, cuz others out there would do a 1000% better job than what I was handed or slapped with. I will avoid going to this and any other postal location as clearly you all do not give 2 sh*ts about people coming to you all with issues. Lying and sending us here or there. I would also like to add my package was never delivered. I not only called, went to this location, but I filled out an online form to get my package resent to me. I have lived in the neighborhood and have had a PO Box at the Broadway Post Office for many years. The people who work there are professional, efficient and quite pleasant. I have experienced few problems, and when I have, they were graciously and efficiently corrected. Highly recommend this post office. read more

The new USPS on Broadway is just a few blocks north of where the old one used to be. However, this facility is much more modern, spacious, and clean, which makes for a much better post office experience. There are the usual issues such as one or two counters being unmanned even during the 4-5PM rush, but all the employees are efficient and friendly when on duty. I've mostly had nightmarish experiences at big city post offices. Endless lines and workers unwilling to help you out in the slightest. So I've been incredibly and happily surprised with this post office over the course of my year here on Capitol Hill. The line moves fast even when it's full, and the staff are especially nice and don't get impatient with you if you've made a mistake on a form or a label. They're there to help you do what you need to get done. Annetta especially is super welcoming, calm, friendly, and helpful. Does USPS give awards to their employees? She should get it. read more
