This post office is conveniently located across the street from KeyArena and Seattle Center. There aren't any post offices in South Lake Union, so I came here recently when I had something to mail. The state of USPS seems evident in the appearance of this post office. It looks like the best days are behind it aesthetically. Aside from the old decor, this post office is actually pretty decent. There is parking, though I have yet to use it. It also has a self service kiosk in the lobby area. And most important to me is their hours. It stays open until 6 pm on weekdays, which is later than any of the other locations in the area. The interior of the post office is quite small. So if there is a long line, it will surely pour into the lobby. But coming in later in the day, there was no line. I picked up a couple sheets of the new Lunar New Year stamps and was in and out of the post office within 5 minutes. If you prefer to stay away from the hubbub of downtown Seattle, this post office is your best option if you live in the Belltown, Queen Anne and South Lake Union neighborhoods. The biggest selling points for me at this location are the parking and longer hours.

**update.. Newman has resumed delivery of my mail... two weeks later!** Has the mailman ever refused to deliver your mail? Mine has! Isn't the god given right of any American is to be taxed, overpay for cable and to get your mail late? Well mine is no longer being delivered. YES I AM NO LONGER RECEIVING MAIL!!!! Why has the Postmaster General Youth do this you're wondering? Well I just had to deliver half the furniture in a truck to California. Then I moved the rest of my furniture to a new home. I've been working overtime and dealing with a lot of problems. Well the last thing I've had time to do is label my mailbox. Wait there is a second reason. I lived in about 7 residents in the last 6 years (government moves me often). None of my mailboxes were labeled. And I always got the mail delivered. So guess who was suprised to see this http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/ZCp5MBenGOLZJcIytYqVFA?select=t8zah5mcMaXeYfn-p7fxTw . WTF!!!! Is not labeling your mailbox a federal crime? I'm looking at mailboxes in my neighborhood and most of them aren't labeled. When I put a hold on my mail for two weeks as I was ordered to head to Virginia for work and the held mail was left at the post office for an extra week after they were suppose to deliver it did I complain? Nope! When I found out that my mailman didn't come to my house on Saturday. (outgoing mail including my netflix movies weren't picked up) for about 2 months straight did I complain? Nope! When the previous residents put in a change of address and their mail keeps getting left in my mailbox do I complain? Nope! When I picked up two packages from the mailman and talked to him briefly did he ever mention that I needed to label my box? Nope! So why such aggrevation over this one minor label mishap? Because the Postmaster General Youth thinks this is the final solution! Who knew that the Postermaster General would have legions of deadly demons at his call! What should I do? Get Allies? Devote my resources to a war time cause? Should I plan D-Day? That's right... It's my turn to go POSTAL!!!!!!!! In the meantime the mailman has been delivering lovenotes to me on some envelopes http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/ZCp5MBenGOLZJcIytYqVFA?select=Nv_2B70_gXl884b6Tixpuw

Those packages on the counter are people dropping off.

You would think that after spending15 billion dollars over budget that this would be similar to visiting a spa. But, it's a toss up between Post Office, Department of Motor Vehicle or visiting a phlebotomist.

Helpful staff, can be pretty busy, does have a few parking spots in their lot, if those are full parking is tricky.

Interbay, Queen Anne

Flat-mail delivery is good. However, my carrier never gives me a chance to sign for packages…read morerequiring signature, resulting in my 45-minute round-trip bus trips to retrieve packages from the Interbay facility. Management has been consistently non-responsive. As I understand USPS policy, when a package requires signature, the carrier is to give the recipient opportunity to sign for it. However, our carrier routinely leaves a yellow slip in our mailboxes in my condo building without calling the unit from the callbox (my phone log shows no calls at delivery time on any such date). USPS will not go to your door in a condo building which, as I understand, is a time-management policy; but it'd seem that they could call. As I've written previously, returning the slip to my box with the required signature doesn't lead to package delivery. I've bused from Uptown to the Interbay facility several times over the past 5+ years to retrieve such packages and spoken to numerous supervisors (there always seems to be a new/different person). They always seem surprised that no contact is attempted. In early July 2025 I asked the supervisor for a written response to my concern and left my address, but there's been no response. I might have thought that when the shared, locked package boxes in our condo are full, USPS may not want to leave a package unattended in the lobby. However, USPS routinely leaves packages unattended in the lobby; again, no delivery to your door in a condo setting, even if you request it. My two-star review is for Interbay management's non-responsiveness.

Georgetown

Postal Services in Seattle, Washington…read more.. I had purchased ten postcards in Portland, Oregon, but I wasn't able to stamp and address them there. I thought that the next best thing would be to have the postcards stamped in Seattle, Washington. I searched my Yelp app for the closest post office and this one in Georgetown popped up. There were many free parking spaces right next to the building. Inside, there was a long line of customers! I guess it's because there are only ten more days until Christmas?!?!? I just dropped my cards in the outgoing mail slot and went on my way! Thanks for your service through the rain, sleet. And snow!

When you renew minors passport in which they already had one, you do not need to see their birth certificates, that portion can be verified by the State Dept. at adjudication. I advised her I was okay with receiving a letter from the State Dept., she just needed to process my two minor applications and she refused to. I didn't want to argue with her, I made an appointment for the next week. We pulled our kids out of school hours early to make the appointment. Hours before our appointment, I received a call from their office canceling our passport appointment due to short staffing. I let them know how disappointing this was because we pulled our kids out of school early and had all the necessary documents and that it was a huge inconvenience. I will never step foot in this office for anything. Terrible service and incompetent staff.

We put our mail on hold before we left for a two-week trip last year. When we returned and stopped…read moreby our local post office to pick it up, they waved their hands and said they couldn't find it. You read right: They couldn't find it. We receive packages regularly at our apartment complex. Everyone who lives here does. And I expected an important package today, waiting all morning for it to arrive, checking and re-checking the USPS website for updates. Finally, the website said: "No Access to Delivery Location." You read right again: The USPS suddenly can't gain access to a building they normally access six days a week. Looking out my window, I didn't see any telephone poles, abandoned semi-trucks, or boulders blocking the entrance to our lobby. So I tried the lobby door. Fine. Nothing wrong there. Then I called the carrier annex closest to me--the same people who lost our mail last year. The call ended after two rings. I called them back. It hung up again. I tried three more times. Same. Same. Same. Then I called the Postal Service and sat on hold for over an hour before I finally hung up in disgust, listening to their on-hold music and looped advertisements for getting my packages to me fast, secure, and on time. But that's precisely why I'm calling them: my package is in limbo somewhere, all because they suddenly can't put a key in a lock and open a door. And this is where our tax money goes.

Female employee working was rude, slow and inefficient, the line building up and no efforts to assist or give instructions and guidance. She pried for personal information outside of name and address for which we had a package to pick up. I waited over 30 minutes for my package; another woman was already (and still) waiting when I left, along with four others who were in line behind me. Avoid having anything held here if you have other options.
