The post office is pretty cramped but the line moves fast, and it looks like you can rent PO boxes here too. It's also convenient to the light rail and several good eateries. Recently I stepped into this tiny post-office that somehow has managed to survive the bulldozing of so much of this historic neighborhood. I had to renew my passport and was uncertain how it would go. There was only one person working there, a middle-aged Caucasian man, who was so helpful and friendly to everyone who walked in the door. When I realized I had forgotten to put my passport in the cardboard envelope he had supplied, he was so good-natured about my carelessness and opened the envelope up, put my old passport in it, and sealed it once again. I'm so used to long lines at the lower Queen Anne post-office. It's kind of a miracle this post-office still exists in 2024. Having been born on Denny Way in the early 1950's, I felt a connection to an earlier time when people were just people, and decency did not depend on passing political litmus tests. read more

The ladies here are absolutely lovely and get way, way more hate than they should. Monique is the best!! So so compassionate and patient. I've been going to this Post Office for the last 5 years, and have never observed any of the negative behaviors described in other reviews. The two people working behind the counter have been helpful and cheerful whenever I've been there. I've never had to wait more than 10-15 minutes, and most of the time not at all. It is small, I would recommend not going at peak times. While going to the PO is not my favorite chore in the world, this location makes it fairly smooth, all things considered. read more

I've been here only once so far, but it was a pleasant surprise! The woman working there was super nice, we exchanged some friendly words while I figured out my stamps and other postage and I got everything I needed without any complications or long waiting (only one person before me). The only thing odd for me was the location itself inside a building with a different "entry" and "exit" way which was hard to see from the outside (entry is through the big doors that lead to the stairway of the building, exit leads you to the front of the house through a hallway with PO boxes). read more

The people here are so rude. It's 8:40 and I have a note stating that open at 8:30 am, however there is a sign on the door stating they open at 8:45 am. A worker named Ruth, who was extremely rude, came to the door to let a delivery person in. When we asked why they didn't open at the time marked on the notice, she said "I don't control what they print online" and then slammed the door in our face. Excellent customer service. This is literally hell on earth. The attendants they have working are rude and oblivious. A monkey with a hat on could do this job and instead they have these awful people working here. I'm surprised nobodies been shot or stabbed from waiting in a line for so long. I don't think they give a crap either. No incentive to actually do their job. So keep on sucking I guess. Do yourself a favor and pay for package insurance so when you're asked to pick something up from this hell pit you can just forget it and get your money back for whatever you got. Why the heck is there a post office in this building and why the hell is it so small? Also, why is there only 1 person working here? First of all, why do post office workers have to be sooo rude and demanding. Like, no, we don't owe you anything. The first time I came here, a nicer new lady was here to help me. She was very compassionate and kind, talked to me like I was human and really tried to provide helpful information for me. The second time I come, the lady who normally works here decides it's Her break time, so locks the door on me and three other customers who were a feet away from the door. No sign. No warning. Just took a break and locked the building and refused to tell us when she was back on break. Wtf. Third time I'm here, there is the same lady here taking her precious time, condescending all the customers. She yelled at an old lady because she accidentally crossed the brown line where you're supposed to "stand behind." She then goes on to talk down on everyone including me, giving us attitudes, talking with those huge sighs and short breaths where you know she's agitated at her job and life. Seriously??? She keeps telling customers they're wrong, and doesn't even listen to anyone. She is the epitome of horrible service. I hate this location. Parking sucks. Lines can be long. Why are post offices almost all the same? It's like the USPS employees don't give a S*** about how they treat their customers because they're getting paid (well) and their jobs are secure. I walked in here to get a package sent and the woman gave me serious 'tude. I don't get it. Is it because I look young? (I don't look that young). I was still friendly and didn't act like I was put off by her rude behavior. She treated me like I was an idiot. We had no idea on how to reach the post office in Bremerton, where it is located, etc. Fortunately, the clerk helped us find out all the info we needed, in a very friendly and professional way. Speaking as a handicap senior, I'm glad we have ANY post office in the I.T. District even if it is a small one and I have to say; I've always been treated straightforwardly but polite in my transactions. You have to understand the ladies who work the counter are overworked and accountable to government policy for any errors their office may make, I doubt most of you have that kind of stress to work under. Couple that with customers without the information needed to process their request or give misinformation that later the clerks will have to answer for. Keep in prospective this is a "satellite" office serving its neighborhood NOT a "city" size establishment designed to handle the lunch time or end of day rush. Civilians are not aware of the checks and balances these two employees must accomplish in the mail room as well as serving people who have little patience and less knowledge of postal process procedures. So give the ladies a break; give them a flower on Valentines Day or a little box of candy on Mothers Day. Find an occasion to show your appreciation for their efforts the same way you'd like done to you. Keep in mind they are people who must please the boss and also stretch their paychecks to support families. read more

Although I miss the old International District location which was much more spacious, I still like this USPS location. The staff have always been friendly to me and if you pick the right time of day, there isn't a line. I try to get there between 11-11:30am so I avoid any lunch time rush. read more

The ladies here are the nicest, most beautiful and helpful in the United States. I have never met a set of woman who are happy to come to work, eager to help and love their job. The are quick and efficient. And they encourage people who don't have their stuff together to step aside so they can help other people and don't hold up the line. I live at an apartment complex that doesn't except checks or CC....the best part of paying my rent is coming here getting cheap money orders. I look forward to seeing these ladies the last week of every month. You deserve raise and kudos to you! read more

The worst employees here. Every single time, without fail, the postal clerks (I've noticed that it is often one of the two middle aged women clerks) are openly condescending to the neighborhood's elders and/or limited English speaking patrons. Excellent service at this retail post office. The clerks I see most often are always friendly, and go out of their way to help people-even when there is no language fluency in common between clerk and patron. I recently opened a PO Box at this location. The staff made the process very easy. If you are looking for PO Box it is worth coming in person. Sometimes the USPS.com PO Box availability tool is incorrect (showing nothing available). I am not clear on why there is so much rage from the other reviewers. Going to the post office can sometimes be a slow experience, but I have never seen the ridiculous behavior they identify. I am in frequently, too. Those angry reviewers would do well to investigate the history of the USPS since the 70s-and the attempts by the executive and by congress at various times to sabotage the institution. They really F'd things even worse when they decided to move this post office from the previous location. It was really busy with super long lines before and now the space is 1/10th of what it was before (if not smaller). Plan for 20-30mins for a daytime visit. The parking is worse here, if that is even possible, and the employees and customers are similarly frustrated. Kudos for the employees trying to stay positive though. read more

I work in the ID and use this post office regularly. They always have the packing material I need, and the two women I see all the time are incredibly warm, friendly, helpful and kind. They've helped me with Zip codes, stalled a driver for a couple minutes to pick up my package (just to be nice!) and I have never experienced more than 3 people at the office at any given time. I am perplexed by the bad reviews. I am at this office at all times of the day, and I have never had a long wait and no one has ever been rude. I think some people may think they can be rude to the workers and expect them to just smile back? If you want nice behavior, be a nice person. I love this post office. read more

After they moved this location, it got considerably smaller, in addition to that, they take lunch off, so don't go for your lunch break. Two people at the counter most of the time, expect to wait 15-20 minutes most of the time. read more

I live in the area that this post office is in, so my mail either gets sent here to be processed or over to the Jackson street location. The service is pretty bad, I have sent packages out to family and friends that they never received. I know I had the correct postage on it because I work in a mail room and I metered it myself! The addresses were as well, correct. The problem is that I have now lost over $50 worth of stamps because no one has been receiving the mail I have sent them. Where do I get a return on this?? How are these problems even rectified?! it gets worse, I sent mail to my girlfriend who literally lives 4 blocks away from me, it took 4 weeks for the letter to get to her!! Mostly I am upset about the packages that were never delivered, there were some sentimental things there that will never be delivered or returned to me, it's been 3 months now and I have definitely lost hope. As I see it now, the U.S postal system can disappear altogether and it would save tax payers soooo much money! the service isn't useful or reliable anymore, and there are better alternatives. DHL, email, and private courier companies. I have inquired with DHL to see what kind of service I can get from them. read more

If I could change the post office that my zip code is assigned to, I would. There are some nice people who work here, but this location is hands down the worst postal station in Seattle. Limited hours that are useless for customers who work weekdays on the other side of town without a car. Not being open on the weekends is ridiculous if we can't get to the post office during the week. Having a registered parcel re-delivered has taken over a WEEK because I can't get to that location to pick up parcels when they're open. Calling their phone number is useless because they never answer the phone. So, how am I supposed to arrange to get my parcel if I can't talk to anyone on the phone at this location (or talk to the delivery person)? It's been apparent for the past 3 years that USPS needs a major change in it's regional upper management because service in Seattle has gone downhill in general since 2012. The low rating is also due to receiving a delivery attempt notice indicating that my registered parcel was being held at the main annex, but when I went down there on Saturday, they could not find the parcel. After looking on the computer, the worker said that my parcel was being held at the international station (which is closed on Saturdays)! read more

I went there at lunch time only to realize this post office is closed 12:45-1:45pm daily. When 1:45pm is up for the door opening, there are about 15-20 people waiting outside already. By 1:50pm, the door opened, and there is only one person serving there. In the first ten minutes, the line didn't move at all. When I was waiting, there were at least ten people came and saw the long line, they decided to leave. I had to wait 30 minutes to get to my turn. I never saw any post office so small and there were so many people waiting for service. read more
