You know, the post office does not get the greatest reviews and I'd like to say that's not true in Escondido. Wonderful service during the holiday rush and all seven of my packages arrived on time. Accessibility: there are one or two disabled parking spots and a ramp to get up to the building, right in front of it. The doors to enter are pull doors. Experience: the employees are all really nice and help me when I need it. This is a busy place but the service keeps going pretty fast! They have tons of PO boxes if you need one, too. Even though this is Escondido and there are lots of sketchy characters around the city, surprisingly this post office doesn't often have people hanging around outside, which is nice. read more

I own a small business and ship about 10 small packages a day. This locations hours are terrible and packages always sit for days before moving. I have to drive down to Rancho Bernardo location every day to avoid this location. Consider adding an after hours package dump like RB. read more

This is the second time I am sending a priority mail and it gets lost or gets delivered weeks later. I paid 2 day delivery for my passport. It's 10 days past and it still shows Escondido location. Previously I sent fastest possible mail to Europe for divorce papers and it arrived 3 weeks later. It is just unbelievable how sloppy they are here. read more

Do not know where to start. The service coming out of this location is awful. On numerous occasions I was waiting for a package to deliver. Every time I look up the status of my package it states my package could not be delivered because the drive way or front door could not be accessed.WRONG!!! I was expecting an important package to be delivered yesterday, but according to the postal service they could not deliver at 12:30 because there was no access. I was standing outside talking to a neighbor and I did not see any postal truck. Plus, my home has cameras and no postal service truck stopped at my house at any point yesterday . Would be nice if the postal service told the truth or did a better job at doing theirs. Now I have no idea when they will attempt the delivery again. read more

I had to review this place because the service was 5 stars and the only knock against this location is the physical location is a little warn down. I needed to mail an envelope on a Saturday. If you've ever been to a post office at the wrong time you know that can be bad news bears. When I walked in there was only one employee helping people and 2 people in line in front of me. In less than 5 minutes I was to the front being helped by a very nice woman who sounds like she's from the islands. In that time a 3rd person had come in to pick up an item and she had called for someone from the back to come assist. Working customer service jobs people often blame employees for the lengthy wait times, when it's often not their fault. This location isn't as nice as their competitors but I had a very positive and fast experience. Does a post office need a review? No but great service does. read more

My kids received post office issued money orders in the amount of $25 each from their grandmother out of state. For some reason, the post office could not cash the money orders essentially they issue. I spoke with the Supervisor and several postal workers without any success and my kids became very upset. seemed like nobody really cared about anything and everybody was just kind of nonchalant. read more

Can I leave 0 stars? What a joke this place is. We have tried updating our address for 3 months. We have gone and spoke to the employees and each time they say it's done. We haven't received Mail in over 3 months. And where is our Mail going? Magically disappearing? We've had important documents, Credit cards, bills...nothing is getting to our address. I keep getting emails from my bank, water company, insurance...the list goes on--that our Mail was not delivered because the address is incorrect. Absolutely ridiculous. This is not a new development. We've had Mail delivered to this location for years. But suddenly nothing. Funny that Amazon, FedEx , UPS all know where we live. Get it together. Hire some people that know how to work, not some people who obviously should be fired for their lack of basic common sense and skills. A 2 year old would do a better job. read more

I went early morning to mail a letter. There were people camped out inside sprawled in a corner with their bikes and sleeping stuff. They were also smoking. I have noticed recently people either camped outside at front door or inside. Of course this is early before the P.O. opens. They are gone by the time it opens. This is probably not news to anyone that uses this P.O. in the morning. I don't know what the solution is but it's creepy. read more

I wish Amazon will drop USPS as one of Their shipper for the following reasons: 1. It take a long time for USPS to deliver packages compared to other. The packages are always delayed in my area especially if you had a free one day or tomorrow shipping. At the least, if the package is to get at its destination by the next day, they SHOULD NEVER USE USPS. 2. USPS many times deliver packages to the wrong address causing the package to arrive late. 3. They do not deliver on Sunday so the overnight or 1 day service which falls on a Sunday will arrive on Monday so it is delayed. I can list a few more reasons why Amazon should not ship via USPS. At least make UPS the choice shipper for overnight or next day shipping. read more

Not sure what's going on with this post office. I had another incident with my package not being delivered. I had a 9.00 item and carrier left a note saying my package needed a signature and no one was home. I have a ring camera, he never left his vehicle and we were home all day. Then the next day it was delivered with no signature required. What's up post office? read more

Update: Went here in a desperate attempt to locate a package that was marked as delivered, but was sent to a "parcel locker" in the wrong zip code. I have a normal mailbox that does not have a lock, so I was very confused. Perhaps more confusing though is the line here which is either "USPS Pickup" or a line that has no indication of what it is. It turns out I should have gotten in the pickup line. In the end the man was unable to help me locate my package and could only make guesses as to where it could be. I'm at a point where I will dispute the transaction instead since I did not receive what I paid for and can't seem to get it no matter what I do. If you have to come to this horrible location, whatever you do don't go when the high school next door is getting out, because it will be much harder to get into. Overall a terrible location and almost impossible to enter coming from Escondido and not Valley Center. read more

I mailed a package to my cousin today and was pleasantly surprised by the awesome customer service I received at the post office. Maybe I'm jaded, most of the times, much like the DMV, I'm use to being rushed and dismissed by the post office. The gentlemen that helped me today was amazing. He made sure my package was set properly so it wouldn't get returned accidentally. He was friendly and very helpful, I walked out feeling a lot better when I went in....sometimes, it is the little things that make your day. He totally made mine today. read more

Honestly every time I go inside to this location because it is the closest to me they have horrible customer service. They all look miserable, they don't even smile . There are two people in particular that I always see there and it is sad to see how miserable they look working there . I used to go in there every single week to ship out packages , that I got fed up with the service there and started to use their outside drip off mail box . But for the past three weeks they only have one open and two are closed . The one that is open has a broken lock door and it's always packed and can't even trust to leave my small packages in there anymore . They need to stop being lazy and open back up all three together . I am extremely annoyed with this location . The people who work there their attitude needs to change or they should just quit and go elsewhere they will be happier . And also they need to stop being lazy and operate all three Mail drop off boxes. read more

A prototypical post office experience here, downtown location, one way parking, and blech staff attitude. We were having a package delivered to the east coast, and were mildly impressed with the standard customer service we recieved at the counter. Our clerk was freindly, but also Post Office condescending when it came to the standard "liquids/hazmat/explosive" speech regarding contents. There was also a gap in communication (okay, I'll take the hit here, but felt that I was clearly speaking and in a muted tone) when it came to the delivery address. My confusion was met with another condescending and less than friendly tone, which again flared when attempting to swipe my debit card through their counter top reader. Hmmmmm....Post Office or Department of Motor Vehicles, of which do thee loathe more to visit? Patience was my friend, and we exited with no package in hand, off on its journey to New York. No small wonder that the US Postal Service is no longer a government subsidised entity, as their customer service training is as long in the tooth as the dinosaurs on their stamps. read more

Judy is a CAPITAL B. I always have my packages ready to go and she never smiles at me or greets me with anything except a look of disgust. The older lady that she assisted before me was an unorganized mess and Judy didn't mind she just smiled away. When it was my turn to go to the counter, she just said, "next" and carried on. No, "hi how are you?", nothing. Scanned my code, printed my label, said "next Wednesday" and handed me my receipt. The lady before me, she smiled from ear to ear as she handed her the receipt and mentioned that there was a survey at the bottom. Can't wait for her to leave or retire already. This location will be a happier place without her. read more

Worst postal office in San Diego county. The staff is angry and doesn't try and help you at all. Nothing is explained to you about shipping times. They don't recommend the way your package should be shipped if you need it there on a specific date. If you have an issue with your package they look at you like it's your fault the package is delayed. Do not ship with these people who obviously hate their jobs. read more

I've sent probably 5-10 packages out of this post office and the staff has always been friendly and polite. I even had issues with the lock on my cluster mail box and when I called this location they were helpful and promptly found a solution for me. They even called me back (which businesses always seem to forget) to help coordinate getting someone out to our home to help remove the broken lock. I feel like people tend to leave reviews when they have negative experiences, but there are plenty of people that have had positive experiences as well. read more

I give this post office a one star because I can't go lower! This post office has the most miserable staff. They are always curt /short and never seem happy. Sometimes you feel like you are bothering them by being there. There have been times I have driven across town to the Escondido Blvd. post office just for a warmer happier reception. At least their staff smile. I think the employees at this location need a refresher course in customer service and at least greet people with a friendly smile. read more

I came here today to pick up some stamps. This post office is located off of valley parkway. I went after work around 4:30PM. It wasn't that busy there. I waited in line for about 5 mins. The people in front of me were waiting for mail pick up so I guess there's only one line for that so it was pretty fast to just buy stamps. I bought a roll of 100 stamps. Came out to $49 so $0.49/ea. I think it was the forever stamps. The place isn't that big but has everything you need to mail a package or letter. Not that busy of a location so that's a plus for me! read more

Another bad day at the USPO! I was on a break and needed a letter certified. I waited in line behind a guy who was oblivious I was waiting and the P.O. guy did not even acknowledge me waiting or say just a minute.... but kept yapping with a guy asking about a business account. This guy asked every question imaginable about it even being shown the PO computer. On and on.. This little mutt at not any time did he call for someone to help me. The good news these people work there and not in any job where they would be a danger to others. Hiring they must start the IQ chart from the top down. Also good news, I recalled the postal annex!!! I went there and they did everything and with customer service. All done I made it back to work and having a lovely day!!!no more insults from USPO!! One star too much. New incident 12/13/19. This is still the laziest PO ever. I've traveled the USA and lived many places to date this is worst. Today I get in my mail that he attempted to make a delivery. Signature required. Not any attempt I am home. I work from home. It wasn't on my door to indicate he attempted delivery at all but in my mailbox. They lie and do as little work as possible. I never use them for over a year I use Postal Annexxthey have everything! Polite, efficient, stamps just replaces old USPO. I wish Trump could end USA postal service waste of government. So, I'm leaving a 2 star review because I appreciate the hard work that these people put in, into dropping our mail off everyday. But what I don't appreciate is why I pay over $10 in shipping to get a package shipped to my house, and I get a slip every time to come pick it up at the office. It makes no sense to me and it defeats the purpose of me paying to get it shipped to my house. Maybe if the driver would take the extra minute and a half to drive up my driveway, they'd be getting a better review. Another incident is when I received a slip to come pick up my package at the office. I went to the office and an employee says to me, "its not here, it's probably out for delivery." So then I checked my online delivery status, it says it's at the office. I tried to tell them that but the employee was adamant about the package not being at the office. I'm VERY patient. The next day, my package still wasn't delivered to my house (like the employee said it would be). I go back to the office and speak to a different employee. He says the same thing to me, "it's out for delivery." And I tell this employee the same thing, "the online delivery status says its here at the office." He He then says to me, "you know what, I'll double check in the back for you." Guess what? The package ended up being at the office the whole time, the first employee was just too lazy to actually look for my package. How's that for customer service? This place does a good job distributing mail into your mailbox, I give them that. But that's just the bare-minimum, border-line, doing their job attitude. I feel like they're too lazy to drop a package off when it can't fit into a mail box, so they're like, "Oh, I'll just leave this slip here so you can come pick it up. We have sent two cards, Easter and Valentines, to our mom on E Valley PKY; neither arrived. We decided to try a letter in a business envelope, it arrived but with a hole punched in it, similar to a hand held hole punch, guess they were checking for a gift or credit card. Our Mom has spoken to this post office to no avail, they claim they have received no other complaints that this was happening; she says that she has a new mail delivery person! If it happened once, we might conclude that the card got lost, but twice is not acceptable; someone is stealing cards and soon it will be Mother's Day; suppose lots of cards will suddenly disappear! I love USPS and I am always courteous. But I have grown to dislike this location, very much. Every time I go here, everyone is so rude. They all have a "what do you want" attitude. Last week, I went in for stamps and asked what they had available and the clerk slammed the tray of stamps down in front of me. I went in yesterday to weigh cards that needed extra postage and the woman working just stuck stamps on the envelope, crooked and random. Maybe for some people, that's no big deal. But it was very rushed like I was wasting her time and she made my mail look tacky. I just wanted the extra postage and put it on myself. Unless I need to pick something up, I'm not using this location ever again. Not one time have I had a pleasant experience there. read more

Miserable service, comparable to the DMV. When I send mail specifically to this PO box, it rarely arrives on time. My tracking number, according to USPS, will say "arrived at unit" but takes several days for me to actually receive anything. None of my orders arrived to my unit this holiday season, even though the tracking numbers confirm that they have, in fact, arrived at the PO box - and this is after the fact that I paid extra for expedited shipping over ONE WEEK before the holiday work week even began.
