5/5 Stars - Quick, Stress-Free, and Convenient! I stopped by this USPS location on a Thursday morning and was so pleasantly surprised! There was zero line when I walked in, and plenty of parking available right outside--a absolute luxury in the San Fernando Valley. Even with only two employees working the front, I was not greeted as I walked in but I was helped pretty quickly. I was mailing out two packages, and the process was seamless. If you need a label printed, they can easily scan your QR codes at the counter. On top of shipping, they have a great setup with an inside ATM, post office boxes, birthday cards, mailing boxes, and pretty much every shipping supply you could need in one spot. The lady who helped me was incredibly sweet, but had a very thick accent so I had a hard time understanding her. Overall, it was a smooth, easy, and delightful visit. Compared to the crowded Sherman Way location, this post office is night and day--so much quieter and faster. If you're in the Valley and want to skip the usual hassle, I highly recommend coming here instead! I'll definitely be back~~~ read more

This visit was quite an amazing experience. It's wasn't too crazy busy which is always a plus at any post office. Encino location has a small parking lot but it's equivalent to the size of the store. They have lock boxes which is always plus. Well, when we arrived we had some things that needed help with. Debbie who was available when it was our turn was absolutely AMAZING. She literally took care of us and then some. For someone who's in a business that has to deal with people one on one constantly regardless the mood of the customers. She was top notch. We had some question regarding mail which she totally answered and she even suggested some things to do instead. Plus I had a package that needed to be mail to the uk. Wasn't sure if I was going to but wanted to see what the price for international shipping would be. She took amazing care of us and explained everything nicely and professionally. Employees like her should receive a raise big time. Her energy shine with that amazing smile and professionalism. There was no attitude or self entitlement with her. She was there to do her job and help others. That's exactly what she did and then some. I did end up mailing the package which the price was steep but expected. A couple weeks ago, I ran into a problem with a certified letter that was somehow lost after I dropped it off at the Encino Post office. A supervisor named Criss called me on the phone to explain the situation. Criss helped me correct the issue with a new delivery at no additional charge. Sunny and Wendy are two other employees who were very nice and helpful. I have to say it is not just this branch but all the post offices in Los Angeles are an embarrassment. Outmoded, tragic sterile places where you are forced to stand in ridiculous lines because they are so underemployed. And now you cannot even mail something to another country without paying a fortune. I was trying to send a 56 page book in a flat envelope to Sri Lanka. The value of the book is $23 max. Postage would've been $38 minimum. Epic fail. I remember the post offices in South Africa and in France , are these lovely colorful bright and shiny places that resemble stationery and paper stores where you can buy gifts and snacks and have an all round pleasurable experience before you mail your goodies off. I came to this location today to mail a simple package and was blown away at the utter lack of customer consideration. After standing in line for 40 minutes, both Debbie and Christy were horribly rude and condescending to me, failed to clarify simple instructions and yelled at me - in front of my child - for asking for a piece of tape. That's right - a piece of tape! When I addressed Debbie's rude behavior, she was very irate and berated me for "interrupting her." I was flabbergasted to say the least. I will be filing a formal complaint with USPS, but need residents to beware - these two women are miserable humans that have zero regard for customer service. read more

April 12, 2025, I would like to commend Mr. Dwight for his exceptional professionalism and kindness. I was the last customer of the week with a large number of packages, and my transaction took an extra 30 minutes. Despite this, and despite visibly having a cold, Mr. Dwight remained patient, polite, and completely professional throughout the entire interaction. He never showed any frustration -- not in words, expressions, or gestures. His service was truly above and beyond. Employees like Mr. Dwight make a real difference. This location is somehow always under staffed. This is on my way home so I typically go here if I need a package sent. Always long line and long wait. Anyway I got here before it closed yesterday and they already had a long line. I have an outgoing package for international shipping. I would have printed everything using online shipping but the system won't take the address I entered. So I have no choice but go and line up. Finally got to the counter and she told me that she can't take international package and I have to go to Van Nuys just because it's already late and they can't process my transaction and next time to be there by 5 to 5:15! I got there on time but they won't take it because my transaction will take too long?? Not sure if I will get the same answer from the Asian lady (because she's always nice) but my take is if people get there before closing then you need to process the transaction. OR have someone announce that you have a cutoff time for certain transactions - I think that's fair so as not to waste anyone's time. read more

I live in the neighborhood, so definitely convenient. More than that, the staff is wonderful!!! Debbie, Christine, Dwight are friendly and very helpful. For those who complain about the wait, they have no control of that and try to make your time at the window a pleasant one. Chris , one of the supervisors, will always try to resolve issues to your satisfaction. David ,who you don't see at a window, but works hard getting those videos to work and maintains the grounds along with other jobs is always a pleasure to talk to after a day with attorneys. I visited this post office specifically because of the advertised 24-hour self-service kiosk, hoping to ship a small package around 7 PM. While the kiosk itself was operational, the drop chute was out of order and marked with a sign stating it couldn't be used. Since I had made a special trip here just for this service, I knocked on a nearby door after hearing someone inside. I politely asked if I could leave the package, even if it meant it wouldn't ship until the next day. Unfortunately, the staff member told me they couldn't accept it because the truck had already left and they had "nowhere to place the package." This was confusing and frustrating--if there's truly nowhere secure to hold outgoing packages, then the kiosk shouldn't be advertised as 24/7 when a critical part of it (the drop chute) is out of order. At the very least, there should be signage or updates indicating that the service is currently unavailable, so people don't waste their time driving out for nothing. read more

I've been using Encino post office for close to 32 years and I have to say, I'm always impressed with the folks there. Of course, after a while, you get to know some of them and that's always delightful, but they're always willing to assist and we know this is not an easy job, but it's always a good experience. Also, the facilities is always clean, the lines are organized and the parking is good. I do, however miss the drive-through drop boxes they used to have. read more

Worst location ever. They always only have one or two people at the windows. The lone is always at least 7 people and if someone is having an issue, you're stuck. I've been to other branches and they always have more people working. Just this one for some reason never has anyone on hand. read more

The folks who work at the front counter are helpful and pleasant enough (some nicer than others) but I drop off here often, as I am able to walk here with my baby in her stroller. I rely on Usps for accurate shipping info and this location is NOTORIOUS for not scanning labels. They are 99% scanned for the first time when they reach Santa Clarita. My packages are sales from my small business, and I would like my shipping updates to reflect my prompt delivery drop off, not 1-2 days late. Love my postal workers, don't get me wrong. This just seems like a very easy thing to remedy and would create much higher customer satisfaction. read more

The counter personnel are friendly and professional, the parking is convenient, and there is plenty of counter space in the lobby to prepare your packages for shipment. I sent a ($7.25) certified mail letter to my tenant and the mail carrier "signed for it" and left it in the box when the tenant had moved out two months ago and it should have been forwarded. I have been to the post office four times, standing in line, and the Supvr Criss had a bad attitude and not willing to do anything to help me. Said he would call me the next morning and did not. His excuse was that the mail carrier signed the green card for the occupant due to COVID but post ofc does not have to get anything in writing on file that they are allowed to do so. Not legal in my opinion. Called again and spoke to Leslie who was helpful and told me I needed to come back in again. When I arrived they called her twice to come to the front but she didn't so I called her from my phone in the post office. After a long wait, she finally came out. Post office needs to give better training to their staff all around. Now re-sending my letter, but they wasted all my time on this. read more

While the customer service IN GENERAL is acceptable, too often mail is misplaced in the wrong mailbox, or flat out lost. Last year my mail was LOST three times. The supervisor suggested that I download the app which is great as it sends you a heads up of photos of what is being delivered. This year, mail has been misplaced and/or lost FOUR times. I am retired and depend on certain mail that includes checks. I marched over to the post office with photos of mail from the USPS app indicating the mail I was expecting which never arrived. So, these mails were lost between the post office and my home. When I asked to speak to the station manager, Chris the supervisor took the information and told me that the carriers supervisor would speak to the carrier. I returned the next day and Chis told me that he spoke to the carrier and the carrier told him that he went back to double check the mailboxes to see if it was misplaced into the wrong mail box. Right there I became suspicious because why would the carrier go back the next day and expect the mail to still be in the mailboxes. Ok, I gave it a day and confronted the carrier. He told me that no one spoke to him! Off I go running back to speak to Chris. This guy had the audacity to deny he said that! I then asked him if there was any way he could check within the building to see if my check was still there. He said sure....he went in the back and less than one minute he said it was not there! Thorough search huh? I asked for the station managers info, I called and finally got through the next day. She apologized and said she would look into it and get back to me. Rude and unhelpful. Went in today and one employee is new so she isn't able to do international. So I asked the Asian lady next to her if she could help she gives me a dirty look and says no my computer will freeze, yet she's doing over 20+ parcels for one individual. She also has the audacity to look me in the eye and says go to lunch and maybe in 30 minutes we can maybe help you. I don't see the reason for the really bad attitude or the dirty look. I was informed by Amazon that my package had been delivered but clearly saw on my security camera that the postal carrier did not have it on hand. I filed a complaint indicating either it was accidentally marked as delivered or stolen. The next day I received my package cut open but fully in tact with all contents. I was pleasantly surprised to receive an email from this branch indicating they had looked into my complaint but their story didn't align with mine. They said they'd delivered the package to the wrong address and were unable to retrieve it. I expressed concern over how their story didn't align as I'd received the package and Chris, from this branch personally called and explained that our neighbor had probably dropped it off to me directly. While it was annoying not to receive my package on time, and frustrating to think it may have been stolen (first world problems I know), I understand mistakes happen. I especially appreciate that filing a complaint with this branch actually means something. I was concerned my complaint would float off into oblivion. I love that they/Chris was consistent in his follow up to address each one of my concerns. So really, thank you so very much USPS! Btw, whenever I go into this branch I'm always impressed by the cleanliness, efficiency and friendliness of the postal workers here. They always look out for my best interest when mailing packages. And they also welcome my rambunctious 3YOs Firetruck siren impersonations. So, though you can't see me smile under my mask these days, please know that I am smiling and it's because of y'all. I am so pleased with John at the United States Postal Service on wide oak In Encino California. John was so helpful on the phone today when I called in because I had changed my address January 29, 2020. Evidently the change of address did not take place and my mail was going to my old address, John was so helpful and reassured me that he would take care of it, very confident very polite. USPS Encino office one of the best post office I like to go because the staff are very customer service oriented. Luis is one of the employees who will always give you a smile to help you-very gratifying specially at a time when we do not trust dropping mail in the mailbox near our medical office. You can usually always expect a line at the post office, and when there isn't, you should consider yourself lucky to have come at the perfect time between two rush hour peak times. Living in Encino, this was one of 2 local post offices to me. Even though the Balboa location was closer to my house, this location was my designated post office for package pick up. While it is a hassle to get that little tan card for package pick up, I found that the service here was very friendly and helpful. The staff understands the need to be in and out and sometimes create a separate line just for package pick up. On my most recent visit, I came to this location to locate a missing package. It was tracked as delivered, but I never located it at home. I went to the post office and tried to see if they had it in the back with no such luck. The post office employee was very understanding of my situation and showed great patience while I explained everything. It is located directly on the corner at a traffic light and the parking lot is set up to receive traffic in one direction. Parking has never been an issue for me, and I would come here again for any post office needs. read more

I never leave reviews but after my postal delivery driver lied and stated they missed me while I was out yet never came to my door was the final straw. I paid twice the amount of the value of the contents within the package to have it delivered with signature required. Here we are now on Tuesday due to Memorial Day weekend. Your postal worker just cost me 3 days and now I have to pick it up with the car I do not have. If I could leave no stars I would. This is unacceptable. Love to come to this post office because it's right by my house. Sometimes it gets a little too busy but they do their best to get the lines moving as fast as possible. The two stars down is because last time I was there, a really old lady walked in to buy some holiday stamps and even though there were posters and signs all over the place saying buy our holiday stamps, the man behind the smaller cash register kept telling her that they didn't have any, and in a very rude way too. Long lines, unfriendly staff, what can I say. My mail is sorted from this place and I have had so many misdelivered items it's embarrassing. One time I had to deal with the manager to track a package that never arrived, all I can say is I have no idea how she was promoted. She was unhelpful unwilling to go the extra mile and since this was an extremely important package with medication for my cat I was more than a little bit miffed. The only crap I see are the people who wait in line and act like they can't wait no more than 5 minutes to get their prioritize. I travel for a living and have mailed items from dozens of Post Offices throughout the country. This location is staffed with the most inept group of individuals I've encountered at any Post Office throughout the United States. The supervisors communicate poorly with one another & deflect responsibility for any issues. The line takes forever to get through. Whomever is in charge of staffing this location with competent humans has done an atrocious job or simply doesn't care. I'd be shocked if any secret shopper has given this location an above average rating ever. The city of Encino deserves better than this subpar establishment. I'd drive an extra few miles to avoid ever having to do business at this location again. read more

This post office has such a bad delivery service that the mail get lost or placed in the wrong box, this is a problem that has been the constant for the past few years (at least 4). I have spoken to 2 supervisors (or at least they were impersonators at the half door of that office) and they have done nothing, nothing at all, I have been doing polls on 3 blocks of Burbank Blvd west of Balboa, spoken to 120 plus tenants and the common denominator is missing mail, mail dropped in the wrong mail box, and the latest one is that some days they don't deliver the mail, is like they think: "is only 3 more buildings (hundreds of tennants) I'll do it tomorrow" and when tomorrow comes guess what? The mail was lost!. This post office needs either a new administrator or new mail carriers or both. On the research I did the problem is more accentuated on the half mile of apartment buildings on Burbank Blvd West of Balboa. As of this date I will give them 1 month to put this problem in control, after that I will escalate the issue to the district office on south central ave, planning on doing that in person, just for the fun after all I have nothing better to do, plus I'm piss because my wife lost a very important medical appointment that had to be postponed 2 months, due to lost or misplaced mail. read more
