The last of the four happen to be located a couple of addresses next to A1 Copy Service. So glad I happen to look over and saw the word "notary" at the front. And the door was open. Very cheap and fast notary service. Friendly. No line. I cannot emphasize enough that this place is OPEN during the posted hours. Very important when you're trying to get papers notarized -- It would certainly save you an hour or two of trying to find a notary CLAIMING to be open. These people are the worst! When I signed up they were a 24 hour access spot but then half way through it they stated due to security and safety, needed to make it regular biz hours . When my year was up, I went to turn in my key and took in the paperwork for them to forward my mail for 6 months (which is their obligation per postal code at my expense ) and the rude guy which works there basicly told me to f myself. "It's not our policy" he stated. Buddy it's the law, it's youur obligation , "sue me" he said. I'm too busy to go file a formal complaint with the post master but I would strongly recommend to steer clear of these guys. read more

To the person with the one star rating Justin H. About the Postage being marketed up. I work at another Mailbox Store. Mailbox stores do have to mark up the price for postage. It cost us the same if not more with 3nd party software to buy postage and pay to print it out. Small business mailbox stores have to make money. We cant do that by giving you the postage at cost. Even it cost us even more in fees and time. If you go to the Post Office it will be a longer line you have to wait in. read more

Anik is the BEST!!!!!!!!!! I've had a mailbox here for a few years now and never had any issues ever!! Just fyi they are closed on Sundays and open till 4pm on Saturdays, and whenever they're open they provide excellent service!!!! As far as I can tell, there are only two people who work there but they are both friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, they used to be accessible 24/7 but now you can only check your mail during business hours because of recent break-ins. It's a pain in the butt because it's not always ready for me to get there during the day but I don't blame them. read more

This place is a gem. First off I have to say the location is very convenient and the staff are very polite, informative, and resourceful. I recently moved to Encino, Ca and needed notary services and I needed to mail these notarized documents. Thankfully this place does it all. I was able to get the services I needed. While I was there I noticed they have the best prices in town for mailbox rentals. Needless to say I now have a mailbox I rent here with 24/7 access & I got 3 MONTHS FREE. DO NOT SHIP FROM HERE!! They will mark up anywhere from 65% to 253% no joke. They wanted to charge me $80 more than USPS down the street! And they didn't offer me the cheaper First Class, but only Priority Mail. I priced two packages at USPS and then went to Mailbox 1 to compare, asking for the cheapest rate across all 4 carriers. On the first package, they quoted $17 for an $11 package - a 65% markup. On the 2nd package, they quoted $132 for what USPS said was $52 - this is a 235% markup, unreal. When I mentioned the difference in rate, they said "well, we add a markup". Fact is, they can add whatever markup they want to the rates they quote - the price is completely arbitrary and does not reflect the actual rate from the carriers. They also have to pay tax on their shipping, USPS doesn't, so that gets passed on to the customer. The reason I did the price comparison was because last week they charged me $175 to ship a box to Virginia that FedEx online said would cost $43. I did have to add insurance and double box, but their cheapest "base rate" still started around $72 vs $43. Crazy. If you want to rent a mailbox or get notary services, great. But avoid shipping from here - the markups are exorbitant. It's amazing they can get away with this. read more
