Went here on a Thursday morning to get my passport done after 6.5 years of lagging (and my parents nagging for said lagging). Finally got a day off of work to do this, so I had to make it count. Pro-tip: EARLY BIRD GETS THE WORM. If you can, regardless of what time you were *thinking* of getting your passport done, arrive before they open at 8:30AM. Wait, and when they open, sign your name under the time of your choosing on the appointment sheet. All spots usually get taken within the first couple hours of the day, so the security and convenience is worth getting up early for. Arrived at 8:30, signed in for their third appointment spot, 10:10AM. Came back 15 minutes before, and when my appointment time came, everything was super smooth and I was out of there in 15 minutes. Didn't get her name, but the woman processing my passport was Vietnamese and even starting giving suggestions for when I get around to visiting the "home country" haha. So sweet, and totally made my day. Didn't think I'd leave the passport office with a smile, but I did! read more

So I go here to mail some letters and as I pull in to the drive thru, where you drop your letters in the outdoor mailbox and theres no mailboxes which meant I had to wait for a car to leave so I could park and go inside to mail my letters..nice. The WORST service ever! We came to get a passport for our son and I had all forms filled out, all photocopies made everything except my son's passport photos because on their website it says "we take passport photos here" so we thought we are all set. We got here at 8am because we heard we have to put our name down and the line gets long. We were 2nd in line and put our name down right away (mind you they open at 9am) but people are there since 8am. They tell us to come back at 9:50am when our appointment is ready. We leave to get coffee and kill time until our appt at 9:50am. We then come back and they make us wait until 10:30am. When they help us they tell us they don't take passport photos for babies! My son is 7 months old. He sits on his own, smiles, poses everything!! They said no and I have to come back another day because they are full for the day!! Are you kidding me?!! We were there for 2 1/2 hours did everything right and you tell you me no baby photos?!! They should list that on their website!! Also, what difference does it make to take photos for a baby?!! They are human just like an adult!! DISCRIMINATION!! We went to CVS Pharmacy (across the street) and took his passport photos in 3 minutes! So fast!! No hassles. So why couldn't the post office do it for us?!! So terrible and discrimination against children and babies!! Terrible terrible! Now we have to take another LONG SATURDAY MORNING just to stand in like again, put our name down etc. I guess they think people have all the time in the world and also I'm a mom! Only post off I could find that would accept walks in on a Saturday. I arrived at 730am hoping to be first in line when they opened at 9am. There were two people already there when I arrived waiting for the post office to open. Around 8:50am an employee came out and started letting people sign up for time slots to process their passport. He was very polite and explained exactly what you would need along with your application. I signed up for a 1050am slot so I could run and get the photo copies and pictures I needed. I arrived back at the post office around 10am and by 10:15am I was already being called to process my paperwork. The four employees who were working were very efficient and got everyone in and out as fast as possible while still being polite and creating a fun environment by joking with the customers and each other. read more

So I had to me and my family's passports. I showed up at 6 am but they don't open till 9. I'm glad I did because they only take the first 13 people. The line started forming at around 6:30. I was treated by an employee and explained the process and gave me time to make corrections to my application. I was assisted by a gentleman by the name of Charles. He was AMAZING. He was beyond patient with us. We were getting 6 passports lol. He helped us through the whole process and made any corrections needed. He was nice and very knowledgeable about the process. He was efficient and very quick. Had us in and our within an hour. I wish I could give him a raise lol. Thanks again to the staff from this post office. Keep doing a great job. read more

Sigh.. they gave me someone elses mail and non of mine yesterday. I am expecting some very important mail. Gave them a call they got no apologies. They said that they would look into it. They didn't even give me enough time for me to give them my full mailing address, just the number. Very rude sounding and then just hung up. Horrible customer service. read more

Went in at about 9:30 and there was a HUGE line. It's to be expected this time of year. I looked for Leeotis and Jose, but Leeotis was taking care of passports and Jose wasn't at the station yet. Jessica was taking care of the line on her own. Jose finally got to open and I was hoping to get him, but Jessica took care of everything very quickly for us. I think the problem with the line moving slow are the customers that don't understand the process. Her equipment worked well and we were out of there in about 10 minutes. Jessica did a great job for us and I'd recommend the team here for getting the job done very well and timely. read more

They lie and say they can't deliver to my apartment complex because of dogs. ????? There's no yards, free roaming dogs, or any way a dog could hurt them. Or if they did get injured by someone's dog when they delivered to their door, why wouldn't you just block that apartment? Why block the whole complex? It makes no sense. They're just lazy and don't want to deliver to the apartment complex, probably because it's big. I wish there was another way to get packages but ever since we've moved, we've had to pick up our mail. Nothing gets delivered except ads. read more

I went there to renew passport today and my photo was decline. A female supervisor there says it is not a white background, but the background is as white as it gets. You can even match it with a white paper. I went back to the place where I got my photo and had the staff helped call the USPS. The USPS employee said the "determination of the white background is a personal level." One employee can say its white and the other can say it is not. SO BEWARE! I wasted a whole day trying show them what the color white is. read more

I would have given zero stars but not an option. If you can avoid coming here, do it. I literally just spent almost an hour doing my passport renewal.. All clerks are the rudest I have encountered in a long time especially one by the name fern who was the first clerk I tried getting to help me, and I can say all because I had to get in line 3 different times and with all 3 different clerks. Is it that hard to be nice!!! As I tried going into passport area I get the door closed on my face by the first clerk, when I told her I was there for passport renewal rudely said "we don't do that here it needs to be sent to the department of state". I get in line 2nd time & she did give me a little information but she then informs me they don't take the pictures there because their camera is broken, really? You're suppose to be the main location for the surrounding areas and can't provide all services?. Post office driver almost backed up into me as I was driving down the parking lot, another post office worker had the audacity to tell me to slow down. First of all, I was going under 15mph which is the California legal limit and I had the right of way. The postal worker told me my right of way didn't matter and that I needed to slow down even though I was doing legal speed, I guess he has radar eyes. This guy needs to stick to delivering mail rather than confronting people. Didn't get his name but was a chubby Hispanic guy in his 50s. I had been an EBay seller when I lived in New York and continued when I moved to Covina 3 years ago. First, when I moved here I stayed in San Dimas for a week and used their post office to get money orders for my new apartment. It was nothing special, I walked out with money orders after a bit of a wait. I have used this post office on numerous occasions and can say I only had one dispute, but the problem was on my part, but the rep didn't do a good job at explaining what I was doing wrong with my packages and I wound up looking up the info on my own. Whenever there's a long line the supervisor will come out and see how many people can be taken off of the line if they are not in need of a financial transaction. Many times I was just dropping off packages, so I was usually one to be pulled. It's consistent, the same people there for the 3 years I've been using them and they take care of me very well and I've rarely seen irate customers and when they are, it's for them being unreasonable by trying to make their own rules like a guy trying to get his post office box back after not paying for it for 3 months and wasn't willing to get a new box number. I don't know how they didn't just tell him how stupid he was being. In dealing with quite a few post offices in my life these guys rank tops. BTW, I'm ranking the office, not carriers who may or may not come from this customer service center. read more

On Monday (10/29/18) I dropped off a package after hours in the mail slot located inside the building. The next evening I tried tracking the package but they hadn't scanned it. Wednesday my husband went in and inquired about the package because it still hadn't been scanned. They said it, "most likely went out but just wasn't scanned" Today is Thursday and the package still has not been scanned. I have no idea where it is. I called the Post Office directly and explained what happened. I was told by a gentleman (I believe his name was Justin) that only packages handed to a clerk are scanned, packages dropped in the mailboxes are not. NOT TRUE! I mail packages all the time and they are always scanned. Yes, sometimes they take a day to scan but never more than that. I called the customer service line (45 min) only to be told to wait another 3-5 days before I can file a claim My packing envelopes was very distinctive and had "Priority" shipping. The destination is only 30 miles away!! It should've been delivered by now. If this package doesn't show up, I have no choice but to believe someone "misplaced" before they even got a chance to scan it, which should have been as soon as they opened the bin. It's unsettling to think about packages disappearing from inside a secured slot inside the Post Office. I'm still holding out hope and will give it due process before I escalate my complaint. If I am wrong and the package appears, I will change this review. We shall see... read more

Very upset that if you're in the post office and 5 o'clock comes they make you feel really bad about the fact that you are still filling out paperwork and making them charge you after 5 p.m. I'm a teacher and I at times have to say after 3 p.m. hits. Worst Post Ever! I have PO Box at this Rimsdale location for business. Just before Christmas several of my customers called me, said they ordered from me weeks ago and still not received their order. I go to the post office to see if they knew anything, and there they were. Two days before XMas my packages all piled up at the post office, with tags on them saying I was short of some postage due. Because this was December and they see I have a business PO box, they could have left me a postage due notice in my mailbox and continue to ship the packages. Or ship and let the recipient pay the postage due. Now my customers dont have XMas gifts, and I have unhappy customers. If customers or business owners are short of a few pennies on postage this should not even be an issue to the post office, because the post office know they are not perfect. I have lost a lot of money because of their mistakes too. For instance they dont always scan packages as delivered, when they actually are. Then customers say they never received, and I have to refund hundreds of dollars to my customers. Happens all the time. Stay away from this location, not a very thoughtful staff. read more

The parking lot of this place is always packed, but there's a second lot hidden just past the first one. I've only had to stand in line once (only because I always use the automated system or am just dropping off packages). The one time I did stand in line it moved fairly quickly. I came in to ship off a package. The person at the front helped me out. He even went out of his way to help finish up the packaging!

Terrible customer service. The woman who helped me named Fern was so rude, and didn't want to explain anything to me. She was so unhelpful, she had me get back in line 3 times and something that could have taken a minute or two took over 45 minutes. No wonder the lines are always so long at this PO. read more

I don't usually write reviews and I am typically a positive, easy to please person. However I am compelled to write one because of the horrible service I've consistently had from this Covina, CA post office. After multiple packages were misdelivered and missing, I GPS tracked the packages to confirm that they were being misdelivered, and this post office takes no responsibility for anything. I was told my mail is being stolen and they cannot do anything for me. Multiple houses on my street have mail mis-delivered consistently, and again, this post office takes no responsibility. After missing a recent package, after calling in to the post office for info, I was greeted by two extremely rude employees. I cannot blame the employees, I think there is a problem with the LEADERSHIP at this post office. When there is poor leadership, that type of poor service trickles down to the employees. on Dec 1st I put out checks for the postal worker, today I find out that they have not been delivered, now I have late fees added. Where is my mail? Our carrier is constantly talking on the phone and not paying attention to her JOB. I have found mail dropped on my driveway, I get neighbors mail, they get mine, even mail for a house 4 blocks away. One of the young ladies who works here is very rude. When I came on 8/12/14 at 3:15 p.m. to pick up mail that was sent to the post office after not checking my mail box for too long, she didn't crack a smile, and the only thing she said in a condescending way was "So you going to check your mail more?" This bothered me because no one should judge such a thing. She doesn't know if there was something serious going on with me or family that kept me from checking my mail. It was very rude and disrespectful and definitely not her finest moment. Wish I got her name to make a complaint about just her because everyone else seemed very nice. US Post Office is Scamming People?? I mailed a TIME SENSITIVE package to a PO BOX (out of state) certified, on December 14th. In plenty of time to arrive to its destination by December 26, (cost $4.66). Unfortunately it was returned to my PO Box on DECEMBER 21 with yellow sticker starting, "Return to Sender, PO BOX Closed". I called the company I had sent it to, to confirm PO Box address & they confirmed it was correct & is an active PO Box. The Post Office made an error. I went back to the employee & advised of error & that it's time sensitive & need to get it there by 12/26. I was told I need to pay $24 to overnight, nothing can be done. I asked for supervisor & supervisor told me they never give money back to anything for free. Asked for his boss & Danny came out who said the same. This must be common, they both seemed prepared for the standard answer. LONG STORY Short, he pointed out 2nd error the US postal svcs made. I called 800 # filed a complaint but was FORCED to pay the $24 due to TIME SENSITIVE item. Incompetent mailman. I buy a lot on Amazon. I joined Amazon Prime just to cut the post office out of my deliveries. I erroneously thought Amazon Prime only uses UPS and other private delivery services. After joining Prime I quickly learned the hard way that the USPS will continue to do to me what they do best: SCREW UP MY DELIVERIES. Incompetent mailman. When I order something and it doesn't arrive, I have to visit neighbors to find which porch my mailman left it. Incompetent mailman. Once I came home from work and found that my mailman left my package sitting in the middle of my driveway, about 10 feet from the sidewalk. I was surprised it hadn't been stolen. Incompetent mailman. Another time I had to call the post office to hunt down a package and was told the mailman had it on his truck. He must've driven around with it in his truck for several days before figuring out it was MY package and not HIS footrest. Incompetent mailman. I've never had a problem with other delivery services, only the USPS. I pray Congress stops funding the USPS and it sinks in it's self-made quicksand. I pray for a UPS and FedEx take over. 5-27-2016 update: USPS still no fixy. Me still praying. I took another week off of work to write this update. That's how important this is to me and you. My boss understands . . . There's gotta be a more better way. Why can the UPS and others deliver my stuff to me and the Post Office can't? Is it because the others are paid more? Is there a dollar threshold I must pay before I can get good service? Count me in. I'll pay more to get my stuff. Though, I'd rather my $$$ NOT go to the USPS. Another USPS bumbling: My package was not delivered as USPS declared it did. I waited four days to call Amazon, hoping it would mysteriously materialize. Amazon then sent me another for free and I got it the next day. Thank you Amazon! Two weeks later my 1st package was finally delivered. Now I have two packages. I called Amazon again to tell them I got package number one and want to return it. She said Amazon's records now show the bumbling USPS originally delivered it to the wrong address and now delivered it to me. Two weeks is a long time for a package to be lost. Where was it, in package purgatory? I'd like to know where that is. Heathen me will gladly go to reclaim my stuff. I went in to send out 2 packages to my friends. One went to New York and the other went to Santa Barbara. Both were small packages; one with 2 books and the other with just a shirt so I picked out of the brown bubble envelopes they had, which isn't the Priority Mail (more on this later). I went up to the counter after filling out the addresses and gave them to the lady. She started punching in the address and things for the first package that was to be sent to New York. She then told me that the address isn't going through and asked if I wanted to send it anyway. I agreed to "just send it anyway" but as I looked on the credit card screen the price for just the 2 thin books was roughly $15. In my head I thought that is quite too much for that... but I dismissed it because maybe it is because the books are heavier or New York is further...? The second package came out to about $4 for the shirt which is fine. She then printed out the receipt for me and because I was in a rush to get to the bus stop that day, I put the receipt in my wallet and didn't have a chance to look at it till later. As I went over the receipt later on that night, I realized she did charge me Priority Mail 2 day shipping for the New York package even when it wasn't in a Priority Mail box. I don't think I'm coming back to this location again. I'm losing trust in a lot of USPS locations already so I might end up not even using their service anymore. read more

I came in that office at 12 o'clock p.m. exactly just to drop off the box that says if it fits it ships, after a half hour of waiting I get to the front of the line to have some Asian chick come out of the back and tell me I need to get in the back of the line and I told her no I'm in the front of the line I've waited my turn then she says oh I'm sorry so when another worker called me forward she asked me what did I want to do it, i said I'm just here to drop this off and I told her where's the front of the line and she said, you were in the front of the line and yes I waited long enough then as I'm walking away the lady that told me to get in the back of the line said oh I'm sorry my mistake and I replied don't ever tell a retired black army Sergeant to get in the back of the line! read more

Found out, employee doesn't want to use the back up copy machine because it's in the back of the office.the truth is she doesn't know how to run transactions for passport ! Horrible customer service. This is the absolute worst post office JUST because of the horrible customer service. The 3 female employees I always encounter here (Barbara, Fern, and the old Hispanic or White lady with too much makeup ) make me dread going here. They scowl at you, make you feel like you're burdening them by asking for help, and then provide the bare minimum of customer service. I feel sorry for them that they hate their jobs so much, but if you can't be kind, helpful, and maybe even smile at customers, maybe you shouldn't work in customer service! My husband and I call them the Evil Grumpy Triplets (or EGT for short )...They are incredibly condescending and rude. read more

Friendly staff for the most part. The line gets pretty long and sometimes move way too slow. Reason for the two stars is that their Mail Carriers ALWAYS deliver my packages to other addresses and no matter how many times I call and they "write down my info" they never seem to remember or know anything when I call back. Very disorganized in that department and god knows where they are sending my packages. I had to start sending them to my Mother in Laws because Off how many they've lost or "Delivered" but to wrong address. read more
