Had to come here for services. I was skeptical about how easy it would be to wait, and how bad service would be because government agencies never seem to be organized. Surprisingly, it wasn't crowded, and there were enough seats inside for everyone to wait to be called. Without an appointment, we were able to check in though the kiosk machine and waited maybe less than 20 minutes to be called for check-in verification. After another 20, we we able to see someone and file the needed paperwork. Pretty quick and easy. I don't know if it's always like this, but really good customer service here, with a fair waiting time. The last time I had to go to the Social Security office at another city, the service was pretty bad, and there was a long wait going out the door. read more

Okay READ THE SIGN OUTSIDE PRIOR TO ENTERING!! You are about to enter the "TWILIGHT ZONE' but in a great way. Very efficient, orderly and supervised. Walk in and you are immediately greeted by the officer on duty. He will greet you then tell you to check in at the machine on your Right. It's a touch computer screen so just follow the directions. Take your ticket and sit down. No Cell phone! Turn them off because if it rings, the officer will announce out loud-the RULES!! This place is clean, quiet and safe. Your ticket number is just your number. The numbers are not called in order (several signs posted relating to this). Pay attention to your number being called out loud and on the monitor. Take a book to read or something quiet to do while you wait. Once your number is called. Quickly go to your window. Have your ID ready to present at the window. Be efficient and ready with your questions or paperwork/documents. If you are prepared then your visit should run smoothly. The individuals at the window are knowledgeable and know what they are doing and telling you. Pay attention and follow their instructions and or advice. Good luck read more

Great experience. Easy and efficient. Friendly staff. I feel sorry for the staff here, as I saw during my visit, visitors giving bad attitude to the security guard and the window staff because they were informed that the system is now by appointment. Security and other staff have no control as to the new rules but people still take it out on them. It's sad to see that grown people act like children to those trying to help them. The security guard was very helpful and polite to me and explained that I could still stay, even though I had no appointment and see if they help me, and if they don't, they will make me an appointment. I got helped :) And I saw one guy get mad because security told him the same thing, he told me. And the same happened at the check in window when he was told he needed an appointment to apply for things, by the employee there. Numbers are also not called in order. My husband and I have come 3 times and have been turned away driving an hour to and from here. Every time a new thing is added to the list of what needs to be brought. It began the moment we communicated that we had had a midwife at our home birth. They seem to discriminate against those of us who choose to live a traditional lifestyle. DO NOT COME HERE! My midwife said their requests for more and more and more information were ridiculous and unethical. It's almost as if they are trying to get under your skin for not living a lifestyle they deam worthy. We are still empty handed of a social security card for our baby girl. Had a pretty good experience here. I went in around 10:30AM on a Monday without an appointment, and there was only one person in front of me to check in. After check in, you receive a number and wait to be called (took maybe 30 minutes). Everyone was very friendly and professional. I was done within an hour. I'm writing this review because the security guy that works inside this building is the most arrogant and disrespectful human I have ever come across. If I could find a way to get this man terminated, I would do it in a second. When you're dealing with elderly people, you should have some kind of compassion. You wanna be cop. My bad experience with this office is what has prompted me to write this review. I have had to come drop off the SAME paperwork 3x. Every time there is something wrong & it's always on their end. I'm honestly tired of the inconvenience and bad attitude here. I recently changed my name and I made sure to provide everything they needed. They have gotten my name wrong TWICE. I had my middle name changed too and they never correct it. They only change my last name. The worker justified the mistakes by saying "well people don't really change their whole name .... just their first and last name so we just look at that part of the application." Like, what???? You're telling me that you guys don't really care enough to pay attention and read through the application AND the court order? I think that's ridiculous and lazy, especially if you work at a government agency and handle IMPORTANT LEGAL PAPERWORK. She told me I would have to go back to the office, drop everything off again, AND get this, put post-its on my application letting them know what parts of my name I was changing & include correct spelling. I had to laugh at her when she suggested this. Shouldn't it be your job to read through the application & paperwork? She basically told me they are incompetent, lazy, and have no way of holding people responsible. Either way, she told me no one would be held accountable and that I should relax because she can assure me I'm not perfect either and I also make mistakes. Ridiculous. I hope other people don't go through this and if they do, I hope they find someone who takes accountability and offers better solutions. I really hope this third time is my last time coming here. I came here early in the morning and already 10 people in front of me waiting for the office to open. I was here for name change from court order. They process quite efficiently compare to the office in El Monte who refused to process my application after waiting in line. Office in El Monte said I need to go to my local social security office, which is not true according to SSA.gov website. Anyway, the wait here was about 45 minutes from the time I started. And once my number was called, Mr Tanahara, got my issue resolved within 10 minutes. I was worried that there may be mistakes because based on what I was ready from other peoples experiences. But Mr Tanahara took the extra step to give me a copy of the changes and have me confirm everything on the document is correct. That reassured me that I don't have to come back again. Thank you, Mr Tanahara, helping helping me. Very much appreciated. Oh. And I forgot to mention. Better find another office to visit to do your business. My wife & I came to the SSA Office in Glendora recently to obtain what EDD called a Verification of Social Security Information, so they could verify the SS number was being used by the person that it was issued to in the prevention of fraud. Without this verification form, EDD could deny disability benefits. After waiting in line, an Asian gentleman dressesd in a nice suit was at the front entrance. After we told him why we were there. He denied us entry and said the SSA does not issue any letters or forms of SS number verification. In fact, he was quite rude about it. We showed him the EDD letter with the request and he stated he has turned away many people with the same EDD request letter. We told him that we could be denied benefits without the verification. He said this was on EDD, not them. We immdeiately went to the EDD Office in Chino and waited in the sun for 3 hours to explain what happened. They said some SSA offices will give you the verification form and others will not. That didn't help us. We were denied benefits. So we had to try other offices (the individual office phone numbers usually switch to the national number preventing you from talking to a particular SSA Office. It does say on the national recorded line that you can get a verification letter). We did go to the Onatrio Office and they allowed us entry to explain what we needed. An employee there took the time to research the problem and contacted other offices. They found the correct form EDD wanted. We filled it out and submitted it to EDD for approval. So for anyone who will need to go to a SSA office for this same form to submit to EDD, here is the proper form; FORM SSA-3288 This form can be used for: 1. Verification of Social Security Number 2. Current monthly Social Security benefit amount 3. Current monthly Supplement Security Income payment amount 4. My benefit or payment amounts from date to date 5. My Medicare entitlement from date to date 6. Medical records from my claims folder(s) from date to date 7. Complete medical records from my claims folder(s). 8. I was trying to help my mother because she hasn't received her SSI check so I called this Glendora office for information I spoke to a very rude and unprofessional man called Mr. Victoria . He said he couldn't give me any information that I had to call the 1-800-772-1213 which I've been calling all day and is virtually impossible to get through! It's very frustrating when people are not willing to do their job right and help people , (which is what they are getting paid for) specially older people such as my mother who is 82 years old and can't do all this on her own. I have called this office in the past and they were able to assist me all I had to do was get my mom on the phone and after they verified her they were able to talk to me. Wow....just wow.....amazing! Recently married and have been dreading the process of changing my last name. This visit was so pleasant. For a Tuesday afternoon I was In and out within 20 minutes...AND I had no appointment! When you walk in, you are greeted by a security guard who directs you to a kiosk. Straight forward kiosk and assessible in various languages too (English, Spanish, Chinese and another language I cannot remember). Kiosk is also user friendly for visually and hearing impaired. Upon check in, I was immediately called to a window. The clerk asked for purpose of visit and directed me to the window I needed to sit near. My number was called soon after. Clerk helping me was friendly, informative and approachable. As for the facility, clean, comfortable and bright. I was only there for 20 minutes but enjoyed every minute I was there.
