I had an appointment to get my passport. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I was directed to wait in a separate line for passports; it seemed as if we are VIP.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was quick and easy and fast. I have come here before and had the worst experience ever. [[HIGHLIGHT]]But TODAY..... I was blessed with meeting Sheila. She is such a beautiful and wonderful person. She was helpful. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Communication. That's what needs to be improved.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] A package was being delivered to my house that needed a signature. It had a scheduled date that had been confirmed. So I made arrangements to be at home on the delivery date. USPS decided to deliver my package earlier without an update. So, I was unable to be available to sign for my package. So the tag was left on my door for me to pick up at the post office. I went to the post office 3 times, and each time they couldn't find my package. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Each one of the representatives took my phone number to call me once they find the package. But, what they did when they found my package is returned it to sender without calling me or emailing me that they have found it and it was ready for pick up.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] And this is not the first time they have done this. I normally wouldn't post something like this, but this situation has been bothering me for months. Back in August, I mailed my mother a birthday card with a gift card inside. I dropped it off after hours at this USPS location in Compton, placing it inside their indoor drop box. When I slid the envelope in, I heard a noise inside the box...almost like something being torn but at the time, I didn't think much of it. Fast forward to now, and my mother still hasn't received her card. It never arrived. What makes this even more upsetting is realizing that it may never have even made it out of that building. I'm sharing this because it's extremely disappointing and sad to think that something meant for a loved one, especially something as simple and heartfelt as a birthday card, could disappear like this. I truly hope the USPS looks into what's happening at this location so no one else has to experience this. Unacceptably slow. These workers obviously need back up. Not enough staff. Came here for a passport appointment. I was there in time, fourth in line. It took over half hour to process the people already at the window. [[HIGHLIGHT]]At that rate I was going to be here 2 hours. With an appointment??? No thanks[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Made a new appointment at a different location where I had a much better experience because they have a dedicated passport area and way more than just one person processing.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The regular mail line was also very long and only one worker processing that line. This is a poorly managed post office!!!! The mail carriers are not diligent in getting mail to customers so You have to end up inside the post office. It's a vicious cycle. No one answers the phone , so your stuck if you want your package or let someone know about your concern. Because it's in Compton no one cares, and subpar quality of service. I've been coming here for years and last week packages I've sent out have been getting lost came to ask a question about that and the employee was rude and condescending. It's upsetting the service makes me not want to come to this location anymore. This is the worst usps I have ever had to deal with. Their carrier chose to not deliver just so people have to go to the location. I bet their carriers cry about how heavy certain items are. I wish this location were more pro active about doing their jobs. They don't care about anyone but themselves. I have seen it with my own eyes. For years I have ordered stuff and most of the time it makes it home. But I swear on my life I still haven't received a package I ordered from eBay a while back. I just had to let it go. My carrier keep making go and pick my packages up. Year after year sometimes multiple times in the same month. I know who works there. Horrible bunch of black people. The nicest person is the big black guy. The black women wigs are trash and she stuck up. I keep requesting a redelivery but for 14 days now nothing. I wish the employees at this locations could be relocated I bet a lot less people will have to come to pick mail up. I wouldn't even give this location 1star. The worst part is the carrier lied about why she didn't leave my package and every time this happens me or family are at home but don't get a knock or ring at the door bell. Just a pink slip saying come pick your package up. She could have just left the package just like every thing else me and my family order. I ordered a product from a bead company and have been tracking it everyday, so why is my package been sitting at the Compton post office for 10 days! Still waiting !!!! I had the same problem with another purchase going to this same post office a few years back, I received that one a month later and it was opened. This post office often only has 1 or 2 employees available for help. It is always busy but never staffed correctly. The workers are not pleasant and it's really frustrating that this is the only option in the area. Avoid it unless you have 45 min to an hour of time to waste. read more

This place is slow. I stood there for almost thirty minutes waiting to pick up a package. I would understand if the line was long, but I was second in line. It is as if all the DMV workers work here part-time- some employees gave attitude to customers for asking questions. Maybe they were having a bad day. I would assume more professionalism. I wish I could hire another company to deliver my mail, but this is our only option available. I can only say try to avoid walking in this place unless you have an hour plus to spend waiting. read more

My experience at the Compton location was great. I'm sad that I cannot remember his name. I want to say Isiah, but I could be wrong (sorry) he was great. I renewed or had to start over with my passport process. Everyone was nice and they were the only post office that answered their phone during operation on a Saturday, versus to other places I called the same day, during operation. I went on Monday and the direction/instruction did not change per the post office's website versus another office I visited. Thanks for going above and beyond. Unprofessional! I had an appointment at 10:30 for passport and the lady that handles the passport process was not even there to assist me! Apparently she was at a dentist appointment. This is the absolute WORST United States Postal Service Office. The employees are lazy and don't know how to do their job at all. On 3 different occasions I have had packages NOT delivered and when I go to track the shipment is says 'Delivery Attempt' which is complete BS because ALL 3 times I have been home waiting! There is never a knock or a ringing of my doorbell. There is also NEVER a notice saying the attempt was made. I've had to go down to the actual building to retrieve my packages! And once I'm there it's a pain in the ass to retrieve MY package! These employees need to be retrained or fired! They are an embarrassment! read more

Checked online to see the hours for passport services, you get there and they have their own rules on when they are done with passports which is by 12:30. That is not what is claimed on their website. It also says online they take your pics and they don't. Both paramount and Compton usps are the same just trash! This post office has horrible service. Stood in line one day for 30 minutes and left. They only had 1 teller and another telling people they had to wait for that 1 teller! Went back another day and here I am 30 minutes later and still the line isnt moving. Either the Compton PO needs to retrain it's clerks or hire a new staff. There were a couple of people who really described two aspects of this post office perfectly: 1) There really are only two people who care at all about being there; those two employees are both very helpful and friendly (they are the reason why the place gets two stars or I wouldn't even have bothered reviewing this place). There's a man that I dealt with twice wearing a cardigan who looks like a manager, he's COMPLETELY worthless. 2) Packages being late or lost (or in my case, a delivery wasn't even attempted). I don't know why, but the only three packages that I wanted delivered to my workplace never got delivered to me--they were held at this crappy post office (again yes, no delivery was even attempted). Of course aforementioned "Mr. Cardigan" offered no explanation as to why or even displayed the ability to actually look for my packages (thank goodness there are a couple of competent people there who were able to find them for me). Don't get packages delivered through this facility unless you want to waste your time visiting and feel like getting annoyed. read more

Packages are either late or lost. Customer service is lacking or non-existent. There only two workers there that actually look like they want to be there. The rest appear annoyed. There's one window that you go to to pick up packages and I once waited 20 minutes before someone came to the window. (3 star now) It must have been a sub who delivered today, because my package was sitting in the nook of my garage where I couldn't see it, but they still Didn't ring my door bell to alert me, as my normal postal worker does or any delivery service would do.. Or like yesterday, that gentlemen put it in my bushes next to my front door.. Oh well, they still can do better, thank the Lord I didn't have to go up there to pick-up, it would have taken an hour like last time.. I'm glad it was delivered.. Negative 5!!! Thieves!!! Update- The package was found after I opened up a case on it. It was stored in the back. I'm glad I finally received my package that I paid for but do not appreciate having to jump through hoops to get it 6 days after it said it was "picked up" at the post office and being accused of lying about it. This is what the package looked like after I finally received it! To the representative that helped me( I believe her name was lashawn sorry if that's wrong) you were so kind and patient and I'm VERY GRATEFUL that their is workers at this post office that care! Thank you so much for finding my package! THE EMPLOYEES TAKE PACKAGES. My package that was "delivered" on 12/21/18 it was never delivered. It says the item was picked up at the post office when I was at work. Went down there to see what happened if they still had it and the first girl who was helping me and everyone else looked up my tracking number, immediately called her super visor and diapered to the back.(never saw her again) and this older man with glasses does the same thing goes to the computer checks my tracking number and tells me that he was the one handing out the mail and that I or one of my family members must have picked it up because that's what the system says. I tell him, myself and anyone who would have been able to get the package was at work so how would we have gotten the package. Then proceeds to tell me in so many words that I was lying. WHY WOULD I COME DOWN HERE ON CHRISTMAS EVE TO GET A PACKAGE THAT I SUPPOSEDLY ALREADY HAD?! Who would do that in their right mind?! In my bones I feel one of the employees took my package and marked it as picked up. That or they gave my package to someone els...so disappointing.
