File a complaint online on the driver/USPS worker
    Monica M.

Yesterday I got into a verbal argument with one of the workers who was doing our mail and it was not our normal mail person, I did file a complaint online. An also still waiting to hear back from usps about this driver. And I have never had a problem with a Driver/ usps person tell yesterday. I have livings in my apts for over 12 years now and counting. I just got into it with the usps guy who isn't our normal guy for throwing my package at the front door and then he wanted to fight me because I called him out on it after and my husband even heard him throwing my package and was like wtf . We got a picture of his truck and I know what he looks like and I'm going to report him. And also LOL he thought because I'm a woman I was going to back down when he wanted to yell at me and fight with me like NO your just mad because you got called out for what you did and mind you in my package it was a vintage 1950s metal cross like dude are you looking to go to hell for throwing a cross but it doesn't matter you don't throw peoples packages you don't know what's in them and everything I'm still pissed ! USPS better get back to me about this driver because they need to get in trouble with everything they did. And if they did that to my package what have they done to other peoples packages! Train your employees better!

    It arrived!

How convenient for this post office to have a US Passport Office located next to it? If you're looking to get your passport and photo done, I highly recommend that you SETUP AN APPOINTMENT ONLINE beforehand. When I set mine up, it was about 3 weeks out. I tried getting seen a couple weeks before my appointment plus another time I returned the next day, and the office displayed the WAITLIST IS FULL sign again in the middle of the day. I asked one of the customers the second time and they said they came at 5:00am to wait before the office opened to sign up for the waitlist. I said forget it... and just waited the next week until my appointment date. PRIOR TO ARRIVING, I had my application completely filled out, birth certificate, marriage license, social security card, and driver's license as proof of citizenship for my change in my last name. Also, make sure you READ THE ENTIRE U.S. PASSPORT WEBSITE (travel.state.gov) on how to get a new passport because the guys working here do not have time for any ignorance! (Mine got a little irritated because I marked my passport as lost on the application, but luckily I completed that portion online beforehand too. The problem was, was that I didn't have the confirmation number. Stupid me!) As I arrived inside the location, there were many people waiting to get seen. My appointment time came up, I got worried because no one called me back yet, so I thought they'd skipped me. Then the guy in the back called me in. I had all my documents, forms of payment (DEBIT CARDS ARE FINE), etc. ready, so the appointment PLUS a printout of my photo was ready in only 15 minutes. Ba-Da-Bing Ba-Da-Boom! Done! My overall take on this place is, set an appointment up well in advance from the time of your travel (or you can get it expedited), have your $h!t ready, don't smile in your photo, read the website in its entirety and you'll be in and out in no time! Very convenient and I would definitely recommend to anyone who needs a passport!

I'm always fascinated at how BUSY the post office is, even today when there are so many other mailing and or shipping options. Still, they are always bbuuusssy! This location is no exception. However, they have a good amount of parking and the lines seem to go fast. All of the workers try their best to get through the line as soon as possible. Today while I was there, it went by in a flash! The man who helped me had a homemade post-it note like sticker/badge on his shirt that said, "sorry for the wait." I just got a kick out of it. How sweet and it make me smile. Thanks for all the work you do for the world USPS.

How can I make an appointment at this location to get a passport?

They take walk-in but be in line by 5am, they only take up to 80 applications every day. I was here at 10:40 am and by 11 am they were turning people away. Per Passport Office personnel, the passport system shuts down after 80 applications were… Read more

I happen to be on the way to dinner in Carmichael when I remembered I needed to mail a very special birthday card to Germany. The thing is I wanted to mail it first class, of course, but did not know how much postage would be required. So I could not plaster a bunch of stamps on the envelope and hoped it arrived there!:-) Basically I needed to stand in line and have the employee do his/her thing to get it mailed. Ugh! I rarely have any reason to physically walk into a post office at all. Especially during the holidaze:) Anyway... I suddenly remembered this location and I actually had the letter with me... so what the heck. I was literally a mile away when the light bulb went on. Miracles do happen. It was about 4:15 p.m., and there were only 4 peeps in line. That would never happen in El Dorado Hills. At anytime of the day. So I was thrilled. While waiting my turn, I started looking around and noticed a lot of very tasteful Christmas decor... It brought me to a peaceful moment and I instantly went from uptight and impatient to grateful and happy for that sweet little post office. They really took the time to "deck the halls". By the time it was my turn at the counter... I was in chill mode:) The employee had my letter post marked and into the bin in under 2 minutes. So thank you, Carmichael post office employees, for taking the time to bring some Christmas joy to your patrons and community. Much appreciated. Merry, merry!

I've got to say that I have had a love/hate relationship with this particular post office…read more Sometimes I can get in and out of there in just a few minutes while other occasions feels like an eternity as if I am in line at the DMV. This is none other than the Carmichael "US Post Office" that is located directly on Fair Oaks Blvd and adjacent to Carmichael Park. Since I have lived around this area throughout the years, it has been my go-to post office. I will say that the parking lot is quite spacious but the building itself is very outdated. Think of it as being a blast-to-the-past with floor tiling that is from the 1970s/80s and aside from the digital stamp kiosks, this building hasn't seen a whole lot of upgrades in decades. I came here during the afternoon of Saturday 10/18/2025 at around 1:00pm as I had to mail out a certified letter out of state. It was roughly a 15-minute wait as there were 3 postal employees working behind the counter. Once it was my turn, I paid the postage fees and was done in just a few minutes. This post office also has standard hours of operation being open weekdays from 10am-5pm, Saturdays from 10am-2pm, and closed on Sundays. In addition to their customer service area, they sell various mailing envelopes, boxes, and even a nice assortment of Hallmark greeting cards. And if you don't need to buy stamps from an employee, they sell them in the main front entrance lobby area. They also have several blue US mailboxes for standard letters at the exterior parking area. Again, the Carmichael "US Post Office" is a hit or miss. But in this day in age where everything seems to be going digital, I don't see myself frequenting this place that much anymore. My review, just an average three star rating.
