Went in a few minutes before 5pm, which is closing time so they should have still been open. The lady at the front gave me an attitude and told me they were closed. When I said it is not 5pm yet, she reacted once again with an attitude and said "well there are 3 other customers in front of you, so by the time we are done with them it will be past 5pm." Like she would not help me even though I was in before closing time but it would be past 5 by the time she got to me. I specifically came here to get my passport renewed. I was recommended by a few friends. I wanted to go somewhere that was a one-stop-do-it-all kind of place, and this was it! I randomly came in without an appointment, there were signs everywhere that said "walk-in only" (so do make an appointment if you can) But i decided to take my chance anyways since the place was practically empty. Yolanda, was the only one working, and since it was slow, she was willing to take me in, she is extremely friendly and makes you feel comfortable. She's awesome! I was able to take my passport photos and pay for all the needed fees. For photo, book, and card, it came out to be about $182. If you want to expedite your passport, it will be an extra $100. It says $60 online, but it doesn't mention the extra fees for shipping. Overall, I was in and out of here within less than 20 minutes or so. Will recommend everyone here. read more

Came here early Friday morning. This is my second time coming in for a passport. Once with an appointment and once as a walk-in and both times I've had 0 problems. Both Estella and Yolanda are very kind and helpful. There are signs everywhere that state no walk-ins. So we came with our fingers crossed and luckily we were taken in. The forms are readily available on the table to your right as you walk in through the glass doors where the signage "Passport" is written. This place is very efficient, they even have a room to take your passport picture. The clerks are very well informed regarding passport inquiries. We had to make a weekend appointment for a passport and this was 1 of 2 locations with available openings. Upon arrival, the front desk was unmanned. We waited around for a while and finally a woman showed up. We proceeded to hand her our paperwork and the letter sent to us by the travel department. She didn't bother to read anything and started demanding paperwork my husband had already been cleared for. I then had to point out and read to her the areas stating he was exempt. We waited an additional 20 minutes from our appointment time after showing up early to check in. They also called another couple before us who was there after because they were sitting in sight of the people processing paperwork rather than abiding by appointment or calling by last name(which they eventually did). Also, no public restrooms. Overall, a shit show. read more

I walked in around 8:45 and the shipping area wasnt opened yet. A lady which i think her name was aggie came opened the door and apologized for opening up a few minutes late because they were having problems with the machines. The shipping area says that it opens at 8:30 so it opened about 15-20 min late. One of the guys in line starts getting mad at the worker (aggie?) saying hes been waiting for an hour because he had been there since 8, she explained very kindly that they open at 8:30 and that it took and extra few minutes to get their machines on but this man was not having it. She was very polite but the man wanted to argue. It was not her fault he got there 30 minutes before they even opened. He was also sticking his head through the plastic that says "do not lift" that protects employees from customers. He asked for her name as if he was going to get her in trouble so im leaving this here. Employee was very polite. Very smooth and pleasant passport renewal experience, couldn't have gone any better. Went in on a Saturday morning around 11AM for a passport renewal. To my surprise, there were only less than a handful of people in the passport office. All of the employees I talked to were very pleasant and helpful. Came in with a jacket to be shipped to Australia. There was a Philippino lady who helped me. The first quote was $65 something and the box was 4lb+ something. She told me to remove the box to make it under 4lbs so I could save $15. She spent 10 minutes or so just to find the best solution for a poor customer like me. Really like her and the way she works. I got married last year and need to renew my passport. My husband has never had one and needs one as well. I also work M-F 8am to 5pm and he rarely has Saturdays off making it impossible to go to the post office during their regular hours. I constantly get a flyer from this post office offering a passport fair which basically states that you can walk in between hours and be served on a Saturday without an appointment. The only thing the flyer reads is that they will take the first 150 applicants, hours of operation, and what to bring with you if you are a first time applicant. I have attached a picture of that flyer here. I was at the post office today at 9am. When I finally reached the front of the line at 12:30pm the women up at the front took my husband and saw my application was for a renewal and walked away while mumbling," were not taking renewals today". Not only did I feel disrespected that she brushed me off and walked away before I could respond but I then stood at the desk that she left and said "what? When was this said the last 3 hours" she replied again not even looking in my direction that she made that announcement already. When I got there the line was almost out the front door meaning I did not even see a counter yet. I had my husband walk to the counter and he came back with applications one renewal and one new applicant but said no one was up at the front. I did not see one employee there until at least 2 hours in line and no one spoke to anyone in the line. I walked away from the counter and had to stay while my husband waited a little longer to process the papers. I then watched as the same rude women allowed several other people to renew however she made them complete a new applicant form versus renewal. She also only spoke in Spanish to these customers and I had to confirm with one of them if that was what he was doing which he replied yes. I'm not sure how legal that was but then again I don't work for the post office myself so I'm not sure of the regulations. Regardless they false advertised with their flyer and the older blonde women checking everyone in was rude and unprofessional. What a waste of time read more

Worst Post Office in America. I visited them today to mail a package. I was using their priority box. Normally they give me tape. Today she made me buy the tape. No big deal. Until she said I had to go to the end of the line. Which had 20 people in it. I ask to speak to a supervisor. He immediately came out. Postal worker then LIED and said she only told me to get out of line then I could be next once I taped box. She lied and I called her out. She and the supervisor both started yelling at me loudly and called me a liar multiple times. Her name was Kathy. I recommend finding a different Post Office. horrible customer service at the passport center!! specifically that hispanic lady with glasses her name was kateya? she turned away the 3 people in front of me for not having appointments, they were all pissed after waiting for so long but i got it. one agent was helping a customer, another agent was free, i checked in with kateya and no one absolutely no one was waiting in the office. I was at this location to drop off a package and witnessed one of the worst customer service in a long time. The blonde lady, whom did not help me, thank goodness, managed to be rude to 3 customers in a matter of 10 minutes. She acted as if we were inconviencing her day by being there. The key is to make sure you have an appointment. I walked in and waited about 5 minutes with about 4 people ahead of me. After assisting the couple one of the workers was helping with when I first came in, she asked the line of anyone had an appointment. I said I did and she asked for my name and appointment time. She told me to just take a seat and I waited no longer than 5 more minutes. Estella took great care and asked me if I was traveling right away which I told her I was not. Expect to wait 15-20 minutes! According to the cashier, they lost 4 employees at this location. The other cashier went to lunch at 11 AM so there's only 1 cashier from 11AM-1 PM. Just a few money saver tips for those using the passport services there; Tip #1 you can save a few bucks by just going to the passport office downtown... it's $25 to use this office... Tip #2 write a check or bring a money order for the amount you are paying, if you use debit it's an extra $1.10 for them to buy a money order with your debit card?! (yeah that was a low blow) ... or just bring cash. Tip #3 get your photos at Walgreens $9.99 for two instead of $15.00 and finally... be nice to those ppl, they have the most thankless job, day in-out just processing applications. read more

This post office insn't very large but the friendly staff make up for it. I had to return a package to the sender recently and honestly had no clue what to do. They were really helpful and pretty much did it for me. I had to pay a small fee to send it back and done-zo I was! I usually drop off my Netflix DVD's at this location as well. I came in to renew my passport with no appointment because I just needed passport pictures, they were super busy but managed to help all the appointments and squeeze me in to take my picture, the lady that helped me ended up doing everything for me! Small local post office, could face closure When I was a child, my father had a P.O. Box at this location, and I remember driving with him when he would pick up his mail and packages. This post office usually was slow and less crowded than the main branch on 3rd Avenue. I read in the Union Tribune a few months ago that the USPS is considering closing this location and other smaller offices in the county in an effort to conserve cost. It is one of the older post offices in the county, built in the late '40s or early '50s. If it were to close, I doubt that anything would replace it because it is in an economically depressed part of the city where many businesses struggle each month to stay around. read more

Second time I come here and have had the same lady. Blonde hair, older Caucasian lady, has her hair up usually with a clip on bun to describe her. She really needs to work on her customer service. She thinks she knows the policy's but after I tell her I can ship what I have, she goes talk to someone in the back and they said it was fine. Very quick to say no you can't ship that without even knowing. I won't be using this post office again. Definitely going to UPS for today's shipment. Passport renewal here was very easy. We followed the online tips and had a 9:15 appointment Saturday morning. There were probably another 8-10 people there as well but, including getting photos taken, we were in and out the door in 35 minutes. Staff was very friendly as well. read more
