I would give them 0 stars because this is by far THE WORST post office I've ever had !!!!!!!!! Literally for a year my carrier throws our mail in the lobby when we have MAILBOXES with unit # AND names!!!! The "supervisor " Mr . Cruthers is a JOKE !!! In short, do not go to this USPS location. Went here for passport service. Waited in line for 30 minutes. During this initial 30 minute wait, one of the two clerks got up from her station and states to the other clerk (Teresa) that she would be going on break/ lunch. Abysmally slow service turned glacially slow. A bit later a supervisor stepped onto the floor and generally stated [clerk's name] and asked where she was, the other clerk responded with the truth and the supervisor stated "no, oh no" and was visibly agitated. He the disappeared. Now 40 minutes into standing with an infant in my arms, the clerk named Teresa said we were in the wrong line and mumbled something about where I should be standing. I responded several times: "I'm still not clear on where I need to be standing to acquire passport service." It was a made-up line that did not exist at anytime while we stood in the main line. Teresa then stated that if was already here before the other people I should just step in front of them. Yeah, about that Teresa, I've no idea, but in pretty sure I've been there longer than anyone in the post office. At this point I walk to the end of the imaginary & unmarked "passport line" and strip down so my "HIGHWAY TO HELL" shirt. When I get back to Teresa we find out that I was deficient with having copies of my drivers license to company the passport application. This is on me, but is it unheard of for a post office to have a copier machine? She directs us to a cellphone store 1 block away. We triumphantly returned with the copies and patiently waited at the end of the passport line. She could have called the family that had been waiting- to the front of the line, after all I was wearing a bright yellow Puma top and taller than everyone in line-but she didn't. At the 57 minute mark into the customer service midadventure we get back in front of Teresa. With a look of disdain on my face I proceed to tell her that I also need passport picture service for my infant. She made some kind of animated face that served to upset me more and then continued to tell me that their passport camera was BROKEN. "That is not an acceptable answer. I called and was quoted $15 for the pictures." She then said something about the person's name that I talked to and said the people that answer the phone do not take passport pictures and would not know that the camera was broken. She then stated the camera was broken for a couple of days. The supervisor said something about going to CVS for pictures, which I didn't care to hear. That said, I am really excited to write to Congressman Luis Gutierrez about Teresa and the worst post office in Chicago. I do not recommend this location, go to the Harrison Street post office for passport services. Yelp! doesn't allow negative stars, so one is what this PO gets. lived in my apartment for two years and i have only received three packages delivered IN MY HANDS by the mail carriers. at first they left packages in the lobby and they always got stolen by $hitty neighbors. PO supervisor said to put a note on my mailbox so the carrier knows not to leave the package and just leave delivery slips. you'd think that would help, right? NOPE. carrier scans my package as "delivered" without actually bringing it to the door and she hadn't even arrived yet! i saw her pull up in her van across the street an hour later and flagged her down. when i reported her the supervisor 'advised' me not to approach the carrier. uuumm, what? half the time my text alerts say it was delivered but i get that little tan square delivery slip a day AFTER they said they "attempted". my mom sent a package priority mail and the text alert said "undeliverable as addressed"...yet there was NOTHING wrong with the labeling. took it to the supervisor. and they didn't bother to do a thing. (technically she should have been refunded the 2 day shipping as they did not deliver and i had proof of the box.) same thing happened today with an Amazon package. spoke to the supervisor who said to contact Amazon. guess what? not only did USPS AND Amazon confirm that my address was in fact correct, and therefore deliverable, they sent me an email to prove it and put a hold on my package so i can get it before these a$$hats returned it tonight! going to the physical location is a nightmare! they have 1-2 workers, many times they give you attitude for picking up deliveries (which at this point they are FORCING me to do). the supervisors constantly defend lazy and inept carriers. yeah i get it, governmental job = good pay for a minimal amount of effort. unfortunately i have to get mail and have no choice on who my carrier is. THIS here is the reason why email prevails and the PO hikes prices = ABSOLUTELY NO CUSTOMER SERVICE or care! never in my life have i had such a shitty PO attend to my mail! read more

I don't send packages often so when I do I go drop it off at the nearest place. This time I dropped it off at this US Post office and there was a short line but it didn't take long for me to get in front. Teresa was the lady that was not so friendly at first since I didn't know how to send my box. She is probably tired of people asking the same thing as I did, How can I send my box? and she replied I don't know if you don't know. But once she explained and I was friendly she was ok. The MOST ANNOYING workers. I changed who can pickup the package through the USPS website with confirmation. I SHOW THEM IT, they tell me I can't. Why make it an option to have someone else pick it up if you're just going to deny it and become aggressive. Then act nice when I bring the original person whose name is on the package. Literally so rude and stupid, learn your own company policies. If USPS, the company, gives the option how are you not following it? There was no need for such attitude and kept interrupting me telling you what USPS allows. I have never had this problem in an other location but this one, You work at USPS, you are not an officer just because you are all old. If I could rate them negative stars, I would. This is my first review ever just because of how HORRIBLE and unnecessary the treatment is here. The employees are very rude and even if you have all your documents for passport they will not accept them. They said I had the "wrong" birth certificate. How is it "wrong" if it was issued from the government. I scheduled an appointment at another location and didn't have any problems. Went in at 2PM on 09/14/2020 I was the next person in line. Right when I got to the counter the lady had a horrible attitude. I was trying to send an international package and right away she said "we are not sending international packages" (when I had asked previously at the other post office and they said yes). She started looking thru some papers and said no international packages. I explained her what the other post office said and told me "Well take it there, my list says no" I saw the list she was reviewing and the country I was trying to send the package was not there. She got upset and told said she had other customers that knew what they wanted and I was wasting her time. I walked out wishing I never walked in there and absorbed all her negativity. I went to this location hoping to know a little more about the different shipping rates and options. I asked the lady at the desk & she was all rude about it. I was asking for an estimate, but the lady immediately interrupted my sentence to say I needed to have a package on the scale. I believe that if you work there for a certain amount of time, you should be able to give an broad estimate at least. Unorganized, rude, condescending postal workers. They had me going from line to line for a while. A man was so fed up he actually spoke up and told them they needed to make up their mind and let us know which one was the line for passports. So that just made her get an even worse attitude and she just proceeded to drag her feet and take her sweet ass time with what ever it was she was pretending to do. I know not to have very high expectations of any post office, but this one in my neighborhood is just awful. Always a long line, very few employees and horrible customer service. Also the neighborhood is majority Latino and yet no one here speaks spanish. I frequently have to translate for others when I'm there. Today I waited 30 minutes in line to mail one package. Ok, they are slow as fuck, but as far as I can tell they are really nice people who are being very careful to make sure that customers have labeled their packages carefully, etc., in order to make sure the packages actually get where they're supposed to go. wow this place is not even slow, I literally stood in line for about 15 minutes as the phone rang multiple times for minutes at a time and non of the staff even attempted to pick up the call! I myself, have called and let the phone ring and ring a total of 5 minutes and 27 second before someone picked up. Disgraceful! They deliver packages with incorrect keys so you actually never get your package you have to jump through hopes leave work early or get to work late just to pick it up. read more

This office is right around the corner from where i live and i hate coming here because this lady(theresa) and some other one that i dont know the name of are always so rude! Today's incident pushed me to the edge! I was purchasing a postal money order and wasnt aware i couldnt use credit card, she literally screamed at me saying what was i doing! Like if i was a child , saying that im messing everything up and that i needed to use a debit. I told her why is she is she screaming it was a simple mistake and that there was no need for the screaming and attitude, she proceeded with some eye rolling and took a deep breath like if she was annoyed, if you cant handle customer service why work there?! THE WORST Post office in the city. They lie on tracking numbers and say "package delivered" when they've still got it and you've got to call them to ask for it. They lie and say they "attempted delivery" when they didn't. Their driver just gave up and went home early. They'll keep your package at the office and NOT EVEN TELL YOU they have it. Forget the pink slip saying "we've got your package." You get nothing! They lie on tracking numbers and say "address incorrect" when the address has never changed! The USPS website says they open by 9am. This office doesn't open till 10am. The website says they can help with Passports during business hours. ANOTHER LIE! The staff says their "passport person" is only available from 10am to 2pm. If you show up at 2:15 in the afternoon to get help with a passport, you are out of luck. Gotta go to another post office.
