This is the worst postal service I've ever dealt with. Complaint for neighbors having to deliver your mail to you because it end up in their mailbox- the entire mailbox being left unlocked on many occasions given every access to everybody's mail. I have informed mail- mail never show up in my mailbox. I have complained a million times. There is an African supervisor at this location that just don't care. If I have something important to mail I take it to my old post office in Springfield- that way I know it will reach its destination. read more

My rent check was lost for 4 months, the manager at this location refused to refund me against USPS policy. When I finally received the lost ledger after opening an investigation, the mail carrier lied and stamped "Address not found, return to sender." My rent check is in the same zip code a mile away from this location and had arrived on time for a year before this happened. When I tracked the envelope online to see where they had sent it to, it was sent to MD, where it sat for three months. This was a certified envelope. Then the manager who refused to return my money for services not rendered stood at the front and proceeded to harass each and every customer in line over the placement of their masks, even though some of them were having trouble breathing. And this was when the restrictions were lifted for inoculated people, so by government mandate those people were not required to wear their masks. One person said they were vaccinated and the manager replied that her facility required all people to wear masks regardless of the state mandate. Not only was she violating state law, she was violating HIPPA which is federal law. While counter workers are still great, the customer service on other levels and management is atrocious. I not longer use this postal facility because of that. If you need your mail to actually arrive and to be treated with any modicum of respect, use the Westfields or Centreville post offices instead. They have never let me down before for in-person mailing services. read more

The worst place I've ever stepped into. I had a problem that I was referred to the manager to and he blamed the problem on the USPS administration. Told me that my package was in the loop and I need to call the main number. I did and that who told me my package was there. I called them again and they told me again that it was at that post office and gave me a number to call. I've call it 16 times before I gave up. They can do their job, or answer the phone at that location. If you need to send something you might want to use FedEx or UPS. USPS will be nonexistent in 10 years. Everyone I've spoken to about this problem has no clue about what they're talking about. Just really a bunch of clowns running our government postal service. If you want something done right you might not want to use anything that isn't privately run. Otherwise you'll get no accountability. read more

Two and a half stars for the annoying and unnatural parking lot layout: keep to the right as you're pulling in since the lane in front of you is exit-only. Rounding up since I pretty much used the 24-hour aspect of the p.o. box bay and my mail was never abused despite sharing the cubby with 4 people. Why the postage vending machine only dispenses seasonal stamps is beyond me, but I guess it's a better investment for them if you have to inconvenience yourself or order them remotely to get Forever stamps. read more

Service at this branch was ok but my sister in Vietnam never got the package that's worth around $300 and I paid around$42 for shipping! I'd been going to this place at Eden center to send stuff to Vietnam, a lot cheaper and packages ALWAYs got delivered to the recipient. So went away for two weeks and placed a hold on our mail through the usps online. Only to see that our normal carrier still delivered some mail and decided to hold some. He also left packages on our front step in the rain and luckily we have a good neighbor who brought them in. Went to post office and spoke to a supervisor Lia who never called me back and tried to blame the issues on alternate carriers even though I had our regular carrier on video. Also tried to say that sometimes the usps website for mail holds just doesn't work at their branch even though I've never had the issue ever before and done numerous times. Horrible horrible place and they could care less about you, your mail, or customer service. I'll drive to Aldie any day of the week to not deal with Chantilly!! read more

Im sorry to say it's disappointing for a mail facility. no wonder UPS and Fedx is way better or you can't even compare I guess USPS still Processing because of junk mails. Will not pick up the phone even it's say on the website the schedule hours of operations of this facility. I was supposed to get my EAD card yesterday, but the status got changed to customer requested to be held at the office even though we had not requested it. However, the supervisor was very kind and helpful to get my EAD card. They understood the seriouness of my request as I would have lost my job if I had not got my card today. I am really thankful for all their help today. I really appreciate their deliveries especially during the time of pandemic. Postal services help build so many memories and dreams during holiday times ( Xmas ). I hope everyone receive the packages on time. read more

I got an email stating my package had been attempted to be delivered, yet there was no note on my door. So i called and checked in and they said to go to the post office. So i drove in 30 minutes of rush hour traffic the 2.6 miles to my post office. And waited for 30 more minutes in line. To be told, my package was not there So i droe home, called USPS, got put on hold for 20 minutes until i gave up. Called again, and where is my package??? The chantilly post office. Recorded answer then says transferring you to the next available, then hangs up. I went to the PO to report the phone problem. Easily the worst post office I have been to. They have maybe one or two employees that speak English and have a clue. The others can't speak English, point you to envelopes that are wrong, and tell you to do things that don't make sense. I had a Vietnamese worker mumble something about using a particular envelope and it was clear she did not know what she was talking about and we almost sent our package incorrectly. If you are learning the job please don't give people directions if you yourself are clueless. If you can't speak English or speak it very poorly don't work at a US Post Office. Ridiculous. Literally wish I could give zero stars and will never be using USPS in general ever again to ship a personal package and everyone at this location was super unhelpful. My husband did an overnight package with my PASSPORT in it. Paid extra for it be "held at the post office" so I can pick it up safely. Not only was it sent to the wrong address but was LEFT ON THE FRONT PORCH. Paid $35 and this is the best part....they're not refunding me saying it's not their fault. I can't. Not only wasted money on that but a $12 uber ride to the post office to find out it's elsewhere. Freaking ridiculous how they're a huge company and their customer service sucks as much as this. Eh, the post office is one those places I never find myself going anymore -- kind of like the bank. But sometimes there is no choice, so off I go. This is a huge post office with generally lots of staff working. The line moves okay. My biggest beef is the non-communication from the counter staff. I arrived with a slip to pick up a package; she took it, mumbled something, then wandered around for seven minutes. She'd mumble something else every time she passed. THE WORST! When you pay for priority express shipping, have someone on the receiving end waiting ALL DAY to receive a package (have a contact number ON the package in case the carrier is confused) as it was for medical purposes and it is never delivered and no notice left. What this post office will tell you is they scanned and left a notification and won't refund you after you have to pick the package up yourself!! So, expect to be called a LIAR on your end b/c the carrier scanned a time stamp. No help what so ever and after explaining my side of the story repeatedly the customer service was still unacceptable and refused my request for a refund. This is the worst post office ever. By far! The worst! They don't answer their phone, they don't answer emails, and they cannot accept responsibility for their own mistakes. I can' even get access to my mail because they can't get it together to be able to give me the proper keys for the box. Based on all of the comments, I see nothing is new with this post office, and I may continue using the ones in Burke, and I definitely will not get a Post Office box in this office because no telling what would happen to the things that I may have sent there. I mean, really... how do you lose my package twice... My first package was lost so I contacted the seller and was able to get them to replace the lost item (lost by USPS) and USPS loses it again. Now, I have to contact the seller, in Germany to get them to put in a claim so he can give me a refund.... I love this post office! Went here today after my usual post office in Herndon was really busy. They have a machine where you can purchase stamps instead of waiting in line! (Credit card only)There is also a self service machine to weigh your package, pay for postage (credit card as well) and print the postage label! It was my first time using the "mailing package self service" machine but they had an employee helping at the machine if you have any questions. The option is still open to wait in line and see a person for help, if you wish. Really like this location and may continue to drive her for faster service. read more

I use this post office on a regular basis and have positive experiences consistently. The staff is professional, courteous, personable, helpful and have been knowledgeable with guiding me on needed direction. Sometimes they are very busy with a decent sized line, but I feel that they put forth quality effort to help streamline things, such as offering the use of the self-service machines (with help if the person needs it) and going through the line to see if check-out/service can be offered at the stamp/mail pick-up kiosk. I appreciate them as well as their efforts with getting me my mail/several online purchases in timely fashion. And I cannot forget to give a shout out to my neighborhood post master--he is one of the best that I have had! read more
