I wanted to commend UPS Store #5916, Employee #162185 Alex. He took a bad situation and defused it while resolving it. Let me explain. Recently I sent two packages to our granddaughter in Kingsport, TN. Only one package made it. the other one landed incorrectly in Ashland, Va at some business. UPS Corporate decided not to retrieve the second package and send it on to Kingsport. Alex got us compensated for the loss without a fuss. While UPS's handling was sub-par. Alex and the store did a good job. Thank you! read more

I was disappointed by today's interaction because I've had such good experiences here in the past. Employee Kevin, who was very good at his job, kept being interrupted by a white stocky, balding male employee who appeared to be in management. This employee interrupted Kevin while he was trying to help customers, stopping service flow and causing a line of 5 to form. This one gentleman slowed treated the other employee rudely, muttered to self and didn't greet or help customers. read more

I had several tasks to complete today, and the most import of which was to send a UPS package to Florida. This office store is the closest to where I work nd they happened to be opened early which was also a plus. There were just two people ahead of me in tue line, and the three employees were able to help move the line along. I also needex to print out and then scan an important document in order to email it. The self service computer had the correct software to do all of that. I was able to complete all of my tasks without a hitch, and I'm glad this office store was here and open at the right time. read more

The UPS Store - Shipping Centers Near Me - Fairfax, Virginia

I feel the need to speak up here. - I have shopped at the UPS Store here in Fair Lakes for many years. Everyone has been courteous and helpful. They have a fair system. As a small business owner myself, I experience people expecting free services. If I need a box, I have to pay for it. If I need tape, I pay for it. Same goes at USPS and Staples. Nothing is free and I don't expect it to be free. I have shipped "customer-packed" items and I fully expected to pay for packing services. Others posting reviews complain about this, but it's reasonable to charge for supplies and labor. If you expect free, you're incorrect. But if you expect fair, then I highly recommend this store. read more

Excellent service from Matthew and Noah!!! They both went out of their way to assist me. They provided excellent service.

The staff working the desk are not nice. I would not recommend this store. They are very unhelpful and just want to nickel and dime you. Go to the USPS in Oakton they are much more helpful and nice. read more

If you live in the Fairfax area, this UPS location is the best one. I come here quite often as I do most of my UPS, Amazon and USPS return services here. And most of my experiences have been pleasant. The staff are always friendly and helpful. read more

The service is usually polite and pleasant but the hours are limiting and annoying (for me) compared to other locations Edit: specifically not opening until 9a when an 8a open would be better - again for me read more

Great service- I love that I can walk in and they're all right to the point- they get what I need done without hassle. I've never had a bad experience there. read more

This UPS store in Fairlakes near the Starbucks is the WORST one I have ever been to. I have been there twice ( never again) and there are always two or three young men sitting around who never smile, never say hello and don't even speak until they are asked a question. They are constantly scowling and it's so unpleasant to deal with them I will not return. Advice; if you really hate your job so much- maybe you should try another field where you don't have to deal with customers. I am not alone in this - read most recent Google review. read more

Really rude staff, they were very short with an older Hispanic lady and practically yelled at her in front of the whole line.

I would like to specifically commend Allen Michael for helping me today. I work for a company that ships packages to other businesses in the area and for some reason a few kept on arriving to this location for pickup. He went above and beyond to help my company and I provide great customer service to my colleagues and customers. He not only made sure all packages got redelivered, but found out why it was happening and called me back to keep me updated. I highly recommend him and his team for any of your shipping needs. read more

They're always really helpful and patient. Also weirdly their" system" has never been down when visiting.

Avoid this UPS store in Fair Lakes - go to a different franchise(Greenbriar UPS Store is much better). Especially if you need a mailbox. They lost a valuable item of ours that was irreplaceable and we asked them to use their insurance to replace as they were last to have item. Then they took our mailbox away when it was due for renewal despite having inbound packages still due there. Was admitted retribution for their mistake. read more

The UPS Store - Avoid this store for mailboxes! - Shipping Centers Near Me - Fairfax, Virginia

Worst UPS EVER!!! Dropped off package to them in a daylight and they lost the package. I called them and they gave me UPS number. UPS guy told me that someone may have stolen it from the store and they will investigate. Can't believe dropped off package can be lost from their own STORE!!! It might be an easier to receive noble price than getting someone on phone at UPS toll free! STAY AWAY and trust USPS! Update: UPS delivered the package finally. Not sure what went wrong however I appreciate business owner offering assistance. Increased two stars for that! read more

I 've been this store last 5 or 6 times with in last 2 month and every single time there is a gentleman always helps me with the smile Mr. Riain!!! I'm telling you he is the Greatest!!! He is polite, very helpful, serves every individual customer with the smile! That's why I don't go other location even though there is couple of them closer to my house. I wish my employee are like him... THANK you for the great service! read more

This location is fantastic, and I wouldn't go to another. Especially so thanks to Riain. Every time I've needed services here, he's been friendly and on the spot with exactly what I need and get my shipment taken care of quickly and correctly. A huge credit to the store! read more

Great store & great staff!! Quick & friendly service! They not only do my shipping they also do my printing too! Give them 10 out of 10!! I work in Fairfax Va just 2 blocks from UPS Store in Fair Lakes! read more

So, these guys are absolute rockstars. Seems silly to spend the time discussing the differences between postal carriers, but I actually have a warm and fuzzy place for the people at this shop. They're always welcoming, they have a great attitude and greet me at the door, and they give me all the options for parcel delivery w/o trying to sell me on whatever makes them the most service. Essentially, they're the anti-post office. And they ship USPS, so.....I just really never need to go to the post office ever again? read more

Came here to write what I thought was a unique experience, however it looks like Doug beat me to it and, as such, I guess is common practice. From his review, "...I'm sure these guys think they mean well, but they are very keen to charge ridiculous fees for things that should be customer service or nominal fees. To add a piece of tape to a box, something the post office would do, is a dollar. OK, fine. Capitalism, and all that..." I went to drop off a shipment, however the label pouch wasn't as closed as I would have liked it to be. When I got to the counter, I asked if we could maybe put a small piece of tape on the pouch to make sure it's closed. We're talking a small piece.... half of an inch of tape MAYBE. The rest of the package was sealed well and ready to go, nothing else needed. He stated it would be one dollar. I said "For a small piece of tape?" He responded with "Yes, we do not make a lot of money off of UPS drop offs." I'm sure people have come into this store before with a broken down box expecting free tape. I get that. But a small piece of tape, really? That's basic customer service. A standard roll of plain Scotch Tape is 1296 inches, which can be purchased at Staples for three dollars. At the quoted price, for half an inch of tape, this UPS store can sell you your own roll of Scotch Tape for $2592. **Edited on Wednesday, January 11, 2012 -- The owner of this particular store wrote a comment to my review. Taking the time to do that and explain what happened makes him okay in my book. I appreciate the response and clarification on the tape policy. I 100% support small businesses and understand the need to not give rolls of tape away.** read more

Originally I was going to go to USPS to ship a package but the line was out the door (Christmas time) at my nearest location so I bailed and went to UPS instead. I had already been on the USPS website before venturing out that day so I knew ballpark pricing for my shipping options. The clerk at the UPS store told me that it would be $55.95 for 2-day shipping... I couldn't believe it! I told the clerk that price was ridiculous and that USPS would offer it for less than half that price. He told me (unapologetically) "this is what it costs". Needless to say I left and went back to USPS later that afternoon - their 2-day priority shipping for the exact same package came to $16.65. Winner! read more

This place is like Cheers -- everybody knows your name! A++++ customer service for any small business need. Email your files over and pick up your prints in 10 minutes! Good stuff people. If you're not there you're missing out. BTW: This franchise changed ownership in November - the new ownership made a HUGE difference. read more

DISCLAIMER - The address is INCORRECT on the Internet and Yelp so my GPS routed me to a residential area. What a shame when dealing with rush hour traffic in the National Capitol Region [hence the 4-Star Rating]. Besides having my six-year-old validate we "were lost" when we used the first directions the GPS then diverted me to the actual location which was three minutes away. I recommend calling before heading out. I visited this store to obtain a notary and was impressed with the professionalism of the staff working at this store. I only wish this location was closer to my home. On a totally different subject, I could not help but savor the aromas of the Chinese Restaurant which was directly next to the UPS Store. If you are in a rush why not "kill two birds with one stone" and drop off your mail and pick up some delicious dinner in the same shopping center?? I don't usually utilize the services of UPS but I will come here in the future. read more

I made the mistake of using the fax number at this store to have documents faxed to me today. On 5 different times an agency attempted to send me documentation to this location. I went to this location four times in one day to have them tell me that fax made a noise but nothing came through. I asked if they had received any faxes that day and they said no. I suggested that they may want to check their fax machine and make sure it was working properly. I guess the lady in charge then stated our fax is working. If the employees had not had such nonchalant attitudes and had been willing to assist I would not have written this message. Not one of them even asked for my contact information and if they could call me if the fax came in. For all I know they received a fax five times today but they will not know how to contact the receiver. Went over to FEDEX that same day and received my fax within five minutes. Should have went there instead and I wouldn't have wasted half my day with these uncaring UPS employees that cared more about sitting in the back on the Internet then helping the customers that came in. From here on out I will use FEDEX and have bad memories of what I experienced with UPS today. Will not visit this store again. Bad customer service read more

I use this store often and I can't say enough good things about the store and especially the staff. The staff is always pleasant and eager to help, no matter how big or small the shipping job. I often start my day there and I am always glad I did. Other companies should take note. This is what customer service should be like. PS.... After reading some of the reviews here I have to say most are due to the customer not knowing the difference between the USPS and UPS (And the difference in prices) or just plain ignorance on their part of how the shipping business works. Don't blame the store or it's staff for your own lack of knowledge. read more

I needed to get a card laminated. The staff wouldn't do it. I was told " The machine takes too long to heat up and we're closing in 6 minutes." Uhm ok thanks- you're still on the clock. Sorry you can't help me and stay two minutes late. Wish I could tell my job I can't stay late. read more

This store is a rip-off - they charged me $5 for a package to be picked-up in their location. The management was rude This charge was note indicated by UPS when the package was shipped, only when I went to pick up my package they informed me of a $5 "storage" fee. Rude and unprofessional for this surprise charge. The management even threatened to ship my package back unless I paid the fee. They literally held my package hostage. read more

I've been coming to this UPS store for five years now and have a mailbox with them. The new owner runs it well and the staff is super friendly. They want to charge me $1 for tapping the box. Then I went to other ups store. They taped the box for me "free".

Hello My name is Janet and I am a customer at this location. This store has great customer service and I the employees are so friendly. Came to this store once to shipped some packages to Germany and I met two employees named Elijah and the on other one name start with and I. This two guys have a great customer service, so helpful. I came in there to shipped some stuff overseas and this two guys were so fast and so accurate and mostly so friendly. While I was in there trying to shipped my stuff at the same time I was just have a great time with this young African American guy whose name started with I. He was so respectful. My time there was just fantastic. Elijah was so helpful. He was able to answer some questions about overseas shipping in details. The next couple of days my parents called me and told me they receive the packages. The time frame was accurate. So Thank you Guys read more

This place is all business. Staff was friendly. Nothing exciting (or bad) to report.

Excellent service- very customer focused. I was impressed!

I'm sure these guys think they mean well, but they are very keen to charge ridiculous fees for things that should be customer service or nominal fees. To add a piece of tape to a box, something the post office would do, is a dollar. OK, fine. Capitalism, and all that. But I send my teenage son in to ship a box that should be about $25 total to bubble wrap and ship, and they tell him their "packaging service" is the cheapest option, and that's $28 just for the packaging--some bubblewrap and tape on an existing box. WTF? When I talked to the owner, he claimed they weren't really taking advantage of a teenager, so I guess that's their normal way of doing business. I'd go to the post office instead of these guys. read more

The worst experience ever! No smile, mispronounced my name after I told them twice! I felt like I did something wrong by going in to pick up my package. I will be looking for a new place to receive my packages. I do like the dude name Johnny. He is not bad on customer service. When he is there I walk in I get greeted there with a smile, he knows my box number, all I have to do is sign the pad and leave. read more

The staff is always friendly and helpful, and don't just "go by the numbers" in helping customers. Most recently, the manager helped me with some important documents and when I screwed up and had to bring the back for processing again, he gave me a pass on the charge, despite protests. I am in this store every week to copy and send my expense reports and regular mailings to one family member, friend, or another. They treat me like family! They have my addresses stored so I don't need to fumble with that, and are efficient , friendly and consistenly go the extra mile for me. I was out of town on Christmas and they took care of a shipment for me that I had forgotten about! The new owners have hired helpful, smart employees who are eager to help. I find their prices competitive and they always offer alternatives to cheaper shipping. This is a great all service shipping store! read more

My husband frequents this store and is always impressed with the service, compared to other places so he encouraged me to go there today with my 4 packages. I did and was very impressed with the service! I don't ship packages often but recently started selling a few things on ebay. I was confused and selected the wrong shipping option for one package, and realized just as I was leaving. The guy who was working there, was extremely patient with my mistake, helped do a refund and then get the correct option set up for me. He was extremely helpful. While I was there, several people stopped in- one woman to get a mail box set up, someone else to pick up, and someone else to drop off. They were helped promptly and seemed to be in and out very quickly with the other staff person assisting them. Also- won't be a big deal to some people- but for anyone with toddlers- they've got a small corner set up with a train table for kids. That was a huge plus for us today. :) This is definitely my "go to" store for any shipping needs from now on. read more
