I had several tasks to complete today, and the most import of which was to send a UPS package to Florida. This office store is the closest to where I work nd they happened to be opened early which was also a plus. There were just two people ahead of me in tue line, and the three employees were able to help move the line along. I also needex to print out and then scan an important document in order to email it. The self service computer had the correct software to do all of that. I was able to complete all of my tasks without a hitch, and I'm glad this office store was here and open at the right time. read more

I feel the need to speak up here. - I have shopped at the UPS Store here in Fair Lakes for many years. Everyone has been courteous and helpful. They have a fair system. As a small business owner myself, I experience people expecting free services. If I need a box, I have to pay for it. If I need tape, I pay for it. Same goes at USPS and Staples. Nothing is free and I don't expect it to be free. I have shipped "customer-packed" items and I fully expected to pay for packing services. Others posting reviews complain about this, but it's reasonable to charge for supplies and labor. If you expect free, you're incorrect. But if you expect fair, then I highly recommend this store. read more

I have been there twice ( never again) and there are always two or three young men sitting around who never smile, never say hello and don't even speak until they are asked a question. They lost a valuable item of ours that was irreplaceable and we asked them to use their insurance to replace as they were last to have item. Worst UPS EVER!!! Dropped off package to them in a daylight and they lost the package. I called them and they gave me UPS number. UPS guy told me that someone may have stolen it from the store and they will investigate. Can't believe dropped off package can be lost from their own STORE!!! It might be an easier to receive noble price than getting someone on phone at UPS toll free! STAY AWAY and trust USPS! Update: UPS delivered the package finally. Originally I was going to go to USPS to ship a package but the line was out the door (Christmas time) at my nearest location so I bailed and went to UPS instead. I had already been on the USPS website before venturing out that day so I knew ballpark pricing for my shipping options. The clerk at the UPS store told me that it would be $55.95 for 2-day shipping... I couldn't believe it! I told the clerk that price was ridiculous and that USPS would offer it for less than half that price. He told me (unapologetically) "this is what it costs". Needless to say I left and went back to USPS later that afternoon - their 2-day priority shipping for the exact same package came to $16.65. Winner! read more

The rest of the package was sealed well and ready to go, nothing else needed. He stated it would be one dollar. I said "For a small piece of tape?" He responded with "Yes, we do not make a lot of money off of UPS drop offs." I'm sure people have come into this store before with a broken down box expecting free tape. I get that. But a small piece of tape, really? That's basic customer service. A standard roll of plain Scotch Tape is 1296 inches, which can be purchased at Staples for three dollars. DISCLAIMER - The address is INCORRECT on the Internet and Yelp so my GPS routed me to a residential area. What a shame when dealing with rush hour traffic in the National Capitol Region [hence the 4-Star Rating]. Besides having my six-year-old validate we "were lost" when we used the first directions the GPS then diverted me to the actual location which was three minutes away. I recommend calling before heading out. I visited this store to obtain a notary and was impressed with the professionalism of the staff working at this store. I only wish this location was closer to my home. On a totally different subject, I could not help but savor the aromas of the Chinese Restaurant which was directly next to the UPS Store. If you are in a rush why not "kill two birds with one stone" and drop off your mail and pick up some delicious dinner in the same shopping center?? I made the mistake of using the fax number at this store to have documents faxed to me today. On 5 different times an agency attempted to send me documentation to this location. I went to this location four times in one day to have them tell me that fax made a noise but nothing came through. I asked if they had received any faxes that day and they said no. I suggested that they may want to check their fax machine and make sure it was working properly. I guess the lady in charge then stated our fax is working. If the employees had not had such nonchalant attitudes and had been willing to assist I would not have written this message. Not one of them even asked for my contact information and if they could call me if the fax came in. For all I know they received a fax five times today but they will not know how to contact the receiver. Went over to FEDEX that same day and received my fax within five minutes. Should have went there instead and I wouldn't have wasted half my day with these uncaring UPS employees that cared more about sitting in the back on the Internet then helping the customers that came in. I use this store often and I can't say enough good things about the store and especially the staff. The staff is always pleasant and eager to help, no matter how big or small the shipping job. I often start my day there and I am always glad I did. Other companies should take note. This is what customer service should be like. PS.... After reading some of the reviews here I have to say most are due to the customer not knowing the difference between the USPS and UPS (And the difference in prices) or just plain ignorance on their part of how the shipping business works. This store is a rip-off - they charged me $5 for a package to be picked-up in their location. The management was rude This charge was note indicated by UPS when the package was shipped, only when I went to pick up my package they informed me of a $5 "storage" fee. Rude and unprofessional for this surprise charge. The management even threatened to ship my package back unless I paid the fee. They literally held my package hostage. read more

Came to this store once to shipped some packages to Germany and I met two employees named Elijah and the on other one name start with and I. This two guys have a great customer service, so helpful. I came in there to shipped some stuff overseas and this two guys were so fast and so accurate and mostly so friendly. While I was in there trying to shipped my stuff at the same time I was just have a great time with this young African American guy whose name started with I. He was so respectful. My time there was just fantastic. Elijah was so helpful. He was able to answer some questions about overseas shipping in details. By far the worst customer service ever. We were greeted upon entering, great, but it literally did not take long for it all to go down hill. We came in to have an affidavit notarized, but this employee whose first name starts with an "I" with a band aid on his face, didn't even ask what needed to be notarized before beginning. We didn't even complete our transaction (THANK GOD) because the idiot employee said he couldn't notarize it AFTER entering our California ID info into his little book. He was so unprofessional that he would not shut up about our family making a mistake moving to VA, how we are going to hate it here, the weather is terrible, how my children are going to hate it and come crying to us. And i calmly told him we will be fine but he was so damn adamant about how much we would hate living in VA. He even told us he was from Southern California and can't wait to go back. He even asked why we moved out here and we told him for a job and he had the audacity to tell us, "it doesn't matter", "we will hate it". This was the worst experience of customer service ever! So sad that he has no common sense in how to speak to customers and be of service. Now our CA info and names are in his stupid book and we got treated like crap out of it. One of the other employees was sitting on a small box on the floor chillin' out, while the Asian guy was helping another customer. Can you believe, this idiot, dumb as a rock employee spoke to us this way in front of another customer?! Seriously hope he is reprimanded in some way.
