I shop at Harris Teeters often, but had no idea this place existed. I only found out about this place after I had prepared my package ahead of time using the FedEx website and printed out the label. That way I could just drop off my package and reduce my exposure in public. My printer was streaking so I wasn't sure if the bar code would work. I didn't have a good way to affix the label onto my package either. I walked in and was promptly greeted even though two employees were already helping two other customers. They asked me if I was just dropping off a package or if I needed help with something. I said I was just dropping off a package, but I didn't have a way to affix the home-printed label to the box and wasn't even sure if it would scan correctly. One of the gentlemen gave me an plastic sleeve to attached the label to the box and checked to see if my label would scan; it wouldn't. He asked me to email the shipping label to him and he printed it out again for me. Overall a pretty good experience and maybe not my last visit. read more

Do not use this location to send via fedex - they will rip you off. On the afternoon of July 22, I was charged $83 for two day economy delivery of a letter to Texas - the reason given for the rate was "because gas prices are high." Afterwards I called fedex to confirm the rate was was told it should not have been over $25 When I returned to post net, one employee said "too late it's already sent" and the other employer said "if you want to pay a cheaper rate for fedex, take your business elsewhere." So take the advice of PostNet's own employees - and take your business elsewhere! read more

If you're just dropping a pre-packaged/pre-labeled item this is the place to go! It's a convenient location, and I've never had an issue with the staff. HOWEVER, if you are purchasing shipping GO ELSEWHERE. I have a friend I mail clothes to every so often, maybe a shirt or two, in a small bag, prepackaged, weighing not much more than a letter. I always ask for the cheapest option. Usually use the PO but this location is much closer for me; I was quoted $22 and change for a tiny lightweight bag with 3 sports bras in it. When I said I'd rather drive it to her for that price they quoted me $15. At that point I just sent it to get it to her but I'll never use them for anything that isn't pre-labeled. read more

This PostNet is definitely handy if you have FedEx packages, and don't want to drive all the way to Fairfax, or UPS packages, and don't want to stay in line forever at the UPS South Writing. The staff are professional, but things can get tricky when you are mailing multiple packages. Printed labels often have typos on them, and the staff struggle with the computer system. When you are put in the computer system, it puts your name under your address. This is convenient if you live alone. If you share a household with anyone else, though, and want the package to come from *you* and not their name, the staff struggles to get the computer to adjust. These are technical details, though. The biggest perk of this PostNet is it's location, and the time it saves you from having to drive elsewhere! read more

Excellent service,pleasant staff and easygoing every time I visit. I have been working with Young for many years as a customer and I have been very pleased with the level of service they have offered over the years. This review is long overdue. The prices are fair considering the area does not have any direct mail services other then the post office or you would have to take a nice drive, the location is super convenient. Yes, the pricing is not like the post office but the place is so convenient and I am one not to complain about a slight difference in price, if I don't like a price, I will ship my own item or go drive down to the post office, no biggie. They are transparent about the price upfront. They are a speciality store and I have found most stores like this prices are slightly higher including UPS stores like this. They offer an abundance of complimentary services for the area such as free mail drop and accepting your UPS and FedEx packages. Every time I drop my UPS packages I ask for a receipt and many many times I have dropped lots of standard mail boxes off and they all have made it the destination. I have never encountered any loss of packages with Post Net. If I have a return package or something super important for USPS I want scanned, I just drive to the post office to get the scan, it's not really a big deal. The store is clean and not cluttered. The owner Young is a dedicated owner/operator and I have seen him working pretty much every time I have visited unless he is away on vacation. The staff he hires have always been knowledgeable and never had any issues with anyone and this at least over a 3 year span. I have been a customer before Young even took over this location, so I have seen both Management styles and he settled in very well. Unfortunate because this is the closest place where I can print things and now I have to go out of my way because I REFUSE to deal with rude people; especially the older gentleman. I have gone here a few times because it is in a convenient location. However, it took me a few tries to realize the ripoff this place is. I tried to ship a small box to my son and this place wanted $28 for standard shipping. A quick trip to the nearest post office resulted in the package being shipped for $10. Talk about a mark up! They also (highly) mark up the cost of stamps even though you can get them at cost on nearby stores - this is probably where Post Net gets them. Other than to drop off UPS packages for shipping, I can't see me doing anything else at Post Net. read more

I wanted to wait a little to see if my opinion changed because I feel terrible about doing this to small businesses- and frankly, this is the closest shipping place to be house by about 10 minutes. However, the owner's actions effected MY small business too. I used PostNet to ship a laptop to a new employee. I understand more then anyone that mistakes happen, however, what I experienced here was absolutely uncalled for and it is how these mistakes are handled that make all the difference. I went to ship a laptop with a week to spare, only to have my new employee track the laptop to Lovettsville, VA- It was supposed to go to Fort Worth TEXAS. I learned from the person who received it, that Postnet shipped him something from his CEO the same day- so clearly, wires were crossed. I ended up having to drive to Lovettsville to retrieve the laptop, and pay $250+ to overnight it to UPS the next day- not only did this take 2 hours of my time, but it cost me a ton of money and the only thing I got in return was a refund from Postnet after being humiliated and treated like a criminal in the store. The owner really handled the situation extremely negligently and poorly. When I came to Postnet to ask them if they could figure out what happened, and if they could locate my now missing item, while we were trying to track down my item, he insisted they review the footage on the security camera to essentially exonerate them from blame (who has time for that?)- FYI, when people need something done, they don't care who's fault it is, they want a solution. Not to mention, as you'll read below, this was not a situation where I was to blame. Additionally, if he were to review the footage, he would have seen me jot down an address on a piece of paper for his employee FOR A TEXAS ADDRESS. This piece of paper clearly wasn't used. He also laughed at and mocked me for shipping using USPS vs Fedex or UPS- saying "why would I ship something so important via USPS?" I thought he must be kidding... because that is not how you de-escalate a situation. To add insult to injury, once I was able to calm down a little and move into problem solving mode after being blatantly insulted and mistreated, I started asking questions to which he played dumb- He said he didn't know who it went to, who rang me up, or how to reach that person. All this information was on the receipt that he tried to play keep-away from me once I handed it over. What this boils down to, is that receipt would have forced him to accept blame, and he just was not willing to do that. He also printed two SEPARATE shipping labels with the address in Lovettsville, the first one didn't have my return address- he ripped that out of my hands and replaced it with one that did have my address- to this day, I'm not sure if he literally made up the second label in another attempt to pass off blame. The person who received my laptop had a very similar name to the individual who was supposed to receive mine. Again, mistakes happen but how this was handled was incredibly unacceptable. Simply put, you do not treat people this way- especially someone who has paid to patronize your business. I was in hysterics near tears from the experience and I hope I can keep someone else from experiencing this as well. read more

Very convenient location for those one-off needs. Staff is efficient and certainly will meet your shipping needs. My review is for their assist with processing a digital passport photo. Ran in to take a quick photo- got 2 hard copy, one digital file within minutes to my email address. What should have been straightforward on the Dept. of State passport page turned into a guessing game as to what photo their tool would accept. This PostNet team accommodated several requests (one note went after hours- yet they answered in minutes) to resend files. Using the source file finally worked and was good enough for State to process my passport. Thank you PostNet for the assist! read more

If I could give a Zero stars I would! The owner and apparently only employee is extremely rude and unhelpful. I dropped off 3 packages on the same day. One with UPS, USPS & Fed Ex. Everyone received their package except the one to UPS. I called Postnet because the online package tracker only showed that a label was created. I know I dropped it off. It never left the store. When I spoke to the owner, she said that a different number came up under my name. After jumping through several hoops with UPS, they said the other number went to Amazon in PA. I didn't return anything to Amazon. My book was going to a different company in TN. Mary, or Marilyn or whatever her name, was the OWNER, was was EXTREMELY rude and would not help me. She basically told me it was my problem and they weren't liable and if it had been there it went out. Wouldn't admit that THEY may have made a mistake. Was just set on her fact that it went out and repeated that. Never offered me any help. She was abrupt from the get-go. If you want your package to arrive at it's proper destination DON'T USE POSTNET! If you want good customer service DON'T USE POSTNET! If you do, you are doing it at your own risk. read more

I frequent Postnet approximately 8-10 times a year. I continually ask them to create posters or yard signs for golf events! They knock it out of the park every time, and with such a great attitude. I highly recommend them, and trust them. read more

As convenient as it is to have a shipping company that works with the three major shippers (USPS, UPS, FedEx), it is inconvenient not knowing when the actual operating hours are. Multiple times I have planned my day to include a quick stop to get something shipped at Postnet when they open but have waited till 9:15am when their hours are posted as opening at 9am and they are still closed. read more

I use them all the time. I never have an issue with their services. Yes it is a business and they do charge fees. So do doctors, real-estate agents and recruiters. Any problems I have had are associated with the USPS or any of the other carriers, but never here. I seen some very rude people there, and he's been rather polite considering. I've been to PostNet a few times since they are so close to home. I will not go back after my last 2 visits. The last time I went, the amount they wanted to charge to send a package to Arizona was twice that of USPS direct. He said that UPS was the cheapest and I didn't believe him so I went to USPS the next day and I was right. They are a little shady and I believe they are overcharging. Terrible place! I brought 2 5 oz packages in which cost between $2.50 and $3. The owner said it was $7.65, I said impossible I always ship this out and its never more than $3 and change. He shoved them at me and took the next person, I said excuse me ( I have never seen anyone so rude) do you add a surcharge and he said yes and pushed my boxes off the counter. The owner is very rude and a crook. I've been here multiple times because it is close to home and have no problem paying the markup for items I legitimately need, since they state that they do markup items significantly on their menu board. However, the owner tries to tell you that you need certain items for shipping that are not actually needed and tried to say that he didn't carry the type of economic packaging that I needed (which they have stocked in the back room - and eventually he went to get after I let him know that I've been here before and other staff members have produced the item I required). He also didn't let me use their tape that was sitting right in front of me (to tape a label onto a box) and said I needed to purchase a highly marked up roll from the supplies wall - mind you, I was making multiple shipping purchases while there already and needed to also ship things overseas, so I just thought it was ridiculous to not let me use their tape for a label... They've lost a lifelong customer (as we also have a PO box at this location) and have made the extra drive to the post office worth it for me now solely based on the owner's poor customer service attitude, not to mention the upmarking and trying to sell you even more expensive materials when they have other options (with no difference in shipping method) in the store.
