Glad it's still here. Occasionally have to ship for my eBay account. Was in the area, and realized "oops." Thank you map phone applications, and to the folks at this one. As per usual it is busy. The urban density plus companies close by is astounding. Am pleased by good customer service. The lady who got me squared away was solid. Prices have gone up considerably. Yet this is almost always the least expensive carrier. Inflation is no joke. Parking is decent for the area, and this will work for your postal needs. read more

There's a thief. I have an online business and drop off 10-20 packages a day since the last 6 years. At the beginning of the year I dropped of my Monday packages in the blue mailbox in the parking lot. Later I found they never reached the post office hands. The bin had been pretty full so I figured someone took the packages out. I started not dropping packages off Monday because the bin is usually full. In April I drove by to check and the mailbox was pretty empty so I dropped packages off. Later found out the same issue happened. Monday, June 24th I had to drop off packages so I went inside and dropped them off in the drop box inside. I am now discovering those packages have gone missing as well. This bin is inside the post office. Throughout this year I had noticed a camera mounted on a nearby tree pointed at the blue bin. I went into the office to discuss my issue and ask about the camera. The first worker said it belonged to a nearby business. Why would they have a camera pointed at the mailbox? I was given to another person to help me. I asked about the camera and the person said that they didn't know whose camera it was, but when there is an investigation they wouldn't be notified. I was given a number to the Postal Inspector and I was told that when they are investigating an issue, they wouldn't inform the local team just in case. They said they could not help me and gave me a phone number to call. I've called twice, been referred to different offices, and they refer me back to this office. Seems like I'm out of luck. read more

I came in with a package that was sealed. I was told I needed about 1/2" of tape to seal it over the ends and needed to pay $5 for it. I asked i couldn't have a piece. The guy said no only for priority. Ridiculous. read more

Not that anyone at the USPS cares but this a an excellent example of why no one uses the US Postal service unless really needed. There can be a fine line between being over staffed and trying to make some money. BUT come on!!!! One person working the desk!!! 8 people in line. Do better. I hope they shut it all down. read more

This post office branch is excellent! I've visited twice and experienced great customer service from folks behind the counter. Everyone I've interacted with has been friendly and knowledgeable. One of the things I like most in these pandemic times are the automatic doors. I don't have to touch anything when I make my way to the counter or out. Thanks, USPS! I would give negative stars if possible. It just should not be this hard. I have had a PO box here for years and the service is just awful. Extremely long waits to pick up packages that cannot be left in my box. There are a few people there that try really hard to do a good job and I feel sorry for them, but frankly, I just don't have any more time to waste, standing around waiting for someone to give me my packages. I have literally wasted countless hours waiting and today was the last straw. The employee demanded my drivers license to pick up my package. I have never, in 10 years been asked to supply my drivers license. I am cancelling my PO box and will reroute all my packages to a different address for delivery. AVOID THIS PLACE! read more

My experience here has been infrequent, but all positive. Front line customer service folks have been polite every time, and very patient. They recently found my phone left behind just before closing time, and the next day I found it had been set aside with a note explaining where it was found etc. ... we were happily reunited. Be prepared to lose your mail and your sanity! As bills pile up I cannot get my paychecks delivered, but the bills of course come just fine. Have to scour my neighborhood everyday looking for people whose mail ends up in my box EVERY DAY. They should be paying me because I'm the one who has to deliver the mail. Made a claim, got told that it's impossible for that to happen because there's dividers between the mailboxes. The next day, I GOT ALL MY NEIGHBORS MAIL AND NONE OF MINE AGAIN. Packages are "delivered" but never actually delivered, then when questioned they'll say "oh yeah sorry they're lost." How can a package be both "lost" AND "delivered" at the same time unless someone is lying? Because they are lying, no one even made an attempt to deliver the 7+ "lost" packages that I'm dealing with now. read more

I love this Post Office. Good lord did I just say that? I did, but its true. These people should be cloned and then populate all other post offices. They are incredibly efficient and very organized. There can be a line, but the counter staff keeps it moving right along. Even at Christmas! I came here at lunch to get packages mailed off to far away family. I groaned when I saw the line of 15-20 people all with the same goal as I. I was simple shocked when I walked out of there just 15 minutes later. I work just down the street and greatly prefer to come here to post packages than any of the locations near my home in Alexandria. read more

This mail has been returned to me via the mail carrier saying that there was no postage on it even though you can see where they peeled the postage off and returned to me and now I have to get signatures from these people again before I can mail this. Let alone they keep sending my mail to other people and I keep receiving other peoples mail. The USPS in Chantilly doesn't even deserve 1 star read more

BEWARE!! Do not ship anything of value thru this location EVER. The manager admitted our package was stolen by a USPS employee/carrier and promised to provide a letter so we can file an insurance claim in February. As of 7/31 no one from the Chantilly location will respond to several emails or calls/voicemails and the OIG won't assist us. The shippers insurance claim was denied and we cannot file a claim. So five months later we're out of our money for the package and now have to pay to use a 3rd party location to circumvent shipping thru this swamp. This whole experience is disappointing and this is a federal agency that should be privatized so service like this can be corrected accordingly thru HR. SHIPPER BEWARE!!! read more

Wow! Talk about an unpleasant environment and workers. I just thought it was the first guy I talked to but it was the woman I had to go back to. I was just mailing a package and felt like I was inconveniencing then by doing their job. Sheeze Try being mildly pleasant, it would be a major improvement. We normally have no issues with this Post Office and they've been helpful in the past when we first moved here. However, one of their postal carriers placed our house on a Mail Hold, without confirming they had the right address. We went for four days without mail. Initial attempts to contact the manager were thwarted by a broken down postal truck, but the manager did not contact us, despite our leaving our contact info, and the gravity of the situation. We had to go down to the postal office, during a thunderstorm, during holiday traffic, to finally resolve the situation and pick up almost all of our mail. One package it seems at this point is still MIA. read more

Rude clerks. I watched an indian clerk lecture an elderly lady for asking for christmas style stamps. Then the clerk had the nerve to tell the lady to go tell the post master but that she is too busy to listen to customer complaints right now anyway. And the pre paid boxes are piled 5 feet high and overflowing on the floor. One clerk told me to take my pre paid boxes to the overnight drop because there was no more room left on the 2 foot wide area two weeks before Christmas. Three clerks stood behind the counter watching the dilemma. Maybe one of the clerks standing around could process some of those boxes to make room for other new ones??? read more

I visit this post office twice a month. The kiosk is out of order at least half the time that I come in. Usually out of the paper to print postage. Coming in during open hours is always a line, usually with too few registers open for the line. read more

I tried to get my passport renewed and they didn't have an appointment until later in the month I don't understand why people have to wait that long to get their passport renewed. But anyway there was this rude white lady there speaking her mind about me complaining about how far the appointments are nobody asked for her opinion these people get holidays off and great benefits but the customer service is mediocre. This was around 3 in the afternoon on June 7th 2017 I wish I caught her name so I could speak to her manager. I am beyond livid about this. read more

This post office is extremely clean and organized...on top of that, the workers here are extremely efficient! There definitely can be a line, but that is not because the workers are slow...there are almost always 3-4 people working each register and working at a fast, reliable pace...the only problem is that this post office is very popular! The post office should be embarrassed. This is exactly what is wrong with the PO and why it should and I with the government would let it fail. Horrible service. Horrible communication. I set up an appointment weeks ago for a passport. When I get there they tell me the person who does passports is in training but the other teller 'would give it a try'. I've called to ask if my package can be redelivered and the guy called Jaime got obnoxiously mad all of a sudden and told me that they are not making any redelivery. OKAY? did I talk rude to you about not redelivering my package? NO. On your website, there is an option for redelivery. I think this guy cannot control his emotion, but you should keep that to yourself when you are working. I have lived in this area for coming up on twenty (yes, 20) years, and this has been my post office all that time. The zip code used to be 22021 - trivia. Another item you can use, last night, I needed to put a box in the mail - I had pre-printed postage on it - the box measured 16"x10"x6", and fit in the parcel chute with room to spare. One little story about customer service. Once, I had some cash (over $1,000) from a charity event, and needed to drop it off to one of the other group members. I put it in an envelope with the address of the person to help me find it later. My wife saw the envelope, and put it in the mail - no stamp. When I got home from work, and realized the envelope was gone, I was anxious. I rushed over to the post office, and told them my story. They led me into the back where the sorting goes on, and showed me the station for route that serves my house. With great shared concern, they showed me that the picked up mail he had brought back, was already gone, and that I would have to go over to the Merrifield post office. In the end, the Post Office delivered the envelope, with all the cash, to the intended recipient -- she called me, "What is this ?!" And this anecdote is presentative of the wonderful customer service I have received over nearly twenty years, and continues to this day. read more

I have a P.O. Box and when I tried to pick up a parcel I was told that I had to have the tracking number, when in the past I have only had to provide identification. The previous service I have had in this post office is hit or miss. read more
