Employee was a bit rude and off putting even when I was friendly. Had a white beanie on, male in 20's. Round glasses. He chilled out a bit when I asked him really gently if I was bothering him by asking him a question about my shipment. He blamed it on his attitude being his default. I was kind and said 'hey man I get it, it's customer service and I hope I haven't bothered you by asking a question about my order' and went out of my way to be extra nice to him. Not sure if he's having a bad day but would appreciate if management could check on him and see if he's doing ok. I would give zero I could. This place has hidden fees for printing as if the shippings fees aren't expensive enough. You not only have to pay for printing fee, but also computer sessions. separately. The entire staff at this UPS Store in Centreville, VA are very friendly and knowledgeable. I often drop off returns from Amazon and other businesses. Most recently, I tried to return a large shipment that would not scan in the UPS system after several attempts with the information I provided. Rodney, the store manager immediately intervened and identified the source of the problem on the return label and made corrections. i had 2 bad experiences on two different occasions. First day I went to UPS store in centreville next to barber shop to return the package I bought from Amazon. According to Amazon, I don't need to put them in the shipping box. I just need to print out the pre shipping label and UPS would do rest but that's not the case. They told me they don't provide any boxes so I went home to find a box. On the next day, I brought in the box that I found, they told me that I need to tape it because they don't provide tape. I thought the guy was kidding but he was not. So I said 'F' it and walked out. I'm not going back to this store ever again. Don't want to deal with these clowns. read more

They did not get delivered back for 3 weeks! When I go to other UPS's, that does not happen. This UPS store has been good to me. Whenever I have an Amazon return or something to ship, they are quick and helpful. I'm in and out within minutes every time. No issues, ever. They even have a small area with office supplies, where I was able to get a special padded envelope to mail a commissioned drawing when it meant everything to get it there safely. I purchased two prepaid envelopes last March 4 for my embassy to send us our passports. As it turns out, on our appointment day, one of the envelopes had the wrong addressee name on it. The person must have been a customer on the same day and the store attendant did not change the name of the addressee on the computer screen to my husband's name before printing the labels. Now I don't only have to pick up the passport from the embassy in person, I also paid $25.01 for one local envelope and a round trip Uber ride from my work. This is very disappointing. read more

Last week my mom and I came in to return a textbook, but when we were getting ready to leave, the car wouldn't start. There was a thunderstorm going on outside and we had no idea what to do! Lucky for us, Rodney, one of the kindest and most helpful employees we have ever met anywhere, saved the day. He offered to help without us even having to ask and went out of his way to make sure our car would start again. It turned out that we had just run out of gas, so he got in his car and went over to the gas station to get us a gallon. He wouldn't even take money for the gas that he had just bought us. Rodney was honestly one of the sweetest people we have ever met and we'll always remember his act of kindness!!! Never thought that I would have such a great experience at the UPS store! But from reading other reviews I can tell that this was not an isolated occurrence and the guys at this store are very committed to providing excellent customer service. This time, however, i've been little skeptic since also the first ever time that I do an Amazon return merchandise and I wonder how the reception will be. I park the car in front of the store, walkin with the return package, show him thereturn label authorized by Amazon, then out into my car , all of that within 5 minutes, and the reception had been warmed as usual with a hello and a smile how can i help you. What else you can ask about a good reception when you walk into any store in the US evenly? Very unprofessional staff! Being disrespectful and rude to customers is very bad. They cheat customers! I only printed 2 pages of black and white document, they charged me $ 3.32 ... for only 2 black and white A4 doc pages !!! Although the price on the site is $ 0.60 per page without tax. But they said it was the rent for their computer, but I didn't use the computer I just sent the document from my phone to them by email. I have never heard before about fee for emailing the documents and renting a computer in other The UPS Store offices. This is the one of company's services - print the document! And the official website does not say anything about renting a computer if you just sent a document to print to the companies's email. Before that, I was printing 20 pages at another UPS office and was paying exactly 0.64 per page and didn't pay for emailing the document from my phone to their computer. This is ridiculous! When I went into this UPS store I had 7 to 10 Packages and I needed the corresponding amount of labels to be printed that I had pre-paid for and to make sure that it wasn't too much I made sure to call in the morning and ask exactly how much it would be I was told $.50 a paper but when I arrived at the store I was met with a midsize white man Who was glaring at me I tell them that I just need 7 to 10 labels that I can email to them so that they can print out he said OK sure and then about two minutes later comes back and tells me that there has been new ownership and the prices have went from $.50 a paper to $6.99 a paper which seemed absurd to me so I tell him I I'm sorry sir but that just doesn't seem right 699 per paper is highway robbery and he says if you don't like it you can just leave when I say I'm sorry I didn't mean to come off as rude in anyway and then he proceeds to kick me out of his store for no reason and when I ask for his higher-ups or the manager or owner cell or contact info he refused and just told me to get out of the store and so just to make sure that I wasn't crazy I had my two white friends call and ask how much the cost of printing was at their store and he told him once again $.50 per page the only difference is that I am black and my friend is white please if you have the choice avoid the store if you are an African-American as they will treat you badly this is one of the worst experiences I've ever had at a UPS and I have already started the work to contact the owner and attempt to get the employee and his fellow employee that was also at the store reprimanded AVOID THIS STORE AT ALL COSTS read more

I continued researching shipping options and found UPS CUSTOMER CENTER only 4 miles away from my hotel. They were incredibly helpful, provided boxes and packing tape and it took minutes to electronically fill out my form and pay. The best part was the $$$ for the same package was $14.00! What an awesome experience i just had at this place. I needed to send something u_p_s next day air - They were tickets for a sporting event that I sold through Stubhub and Stubhub provides the shipping label to you as a PDF . I don't have a working printer at home but I figured this place would have the ability to print out the label and they did. I tell the guy what my challenge is, he directs me to the computer behind me and unlocks it for me. I log into my email, print the two pages and package everything up. He gives me a receipt for the shipment. Now I'm going for my wallet as i am fully expecting to pay for 2 minutes of computer time and printing 2 pages, but here is where it gets awesome.... he tells me no charge. I've been a customer of The UPS Store in Centreville for 5+ years and I'm continually impressed by the level of service I get from this store and staff. I've used many of their services: packaging, shipping, mailbox and package receiving, and copies. They've always come through for me on each service. And any time I've had a concern or issue, they have been totally honest with me about my shipping options, pricing, etc. The thing that impresses me most about the store is the family atmosphere. All of the staff has been there for a long time, so they get to genuinely know their customers. Every time I come in, they greet me by name and have my mail and packages waiting. They take time to talk with me and ask how my day is going, what my plans are for the weekend and more. I've seen them do it to so many other customers so I know this is their normal way of operating. I requested the front desk person to pack and label the box in front of me. He replied rudely: "we will take care of it... do you understand ?" I mean, really ?? What if you don't ship my box? The best part is that when i was unaware of how much mailing a shirt would cost, he recommended me to send it through USPS.
