The worst USPS branch. Will never use it again. My package is at post office for a week. They are neither delivering nor can I pick it up....because it's with other packages...excuses!!!! Not worth wasting your time with them. read more

I have generally had positive experiences at the post office. Yes, there can be long lines. Worst times for that are first thing in the morning, during lunch, and late in the afternoon. If you can go between 9-11:30 or 2-3:30, probably minimal line problems. My problem is with mail delivery. Specifically, with having mail held while I am out of town. This used to work well. You could use the online page to schedule a hold, and check a box for whether you'd pick up mail at the end of the hold or just have it all delivered at once. I always said I'd come in and pick it up when I got home. Starting about two years ago it stopped working. I'd put in the hold online, go away, and come home to an overflowing mailbox. Then I'd go to the post office and ask for my held mail, and usually be told there was none. But I had to go and ask because how else could I be sure there wasn't any? After a couple of times I complained to one of the clerks. At first I was told it was probably because of a remodeling project going on and there wasn't room to store the held mail. After that ended I was told it was a communication problem from the usps web page and the local po. I was told to turn in a paper hold request on one of their yellow forms, and give it to a clerk. I did that last week. Guess how well that worked? Yup. Overflowing mailbox, no held mail. This time I was told it was because there isn't a regular carrier on the route I live on, and subs are overworked and underpaid and basically can't be bothered with dealing with a hold. If I'm away for a week, no big deal, ok. Two weeks and it's a problem. Not to mention a security risk. What I'm really worried about is that I expect to move out of state in a few months. If they can't handle a hold request, how can I trust them to be able handle a change address/forward request? read more

This place has incredibly long lines, which are exhausting to stand in if you have any physical issues. But I have lived all over the country and there are always long lines. The one thing that's great here are the clerks. They are uniformly wonderful and efficient and knowledgeable. I'm from NJ, where the clerks make you feel like you've committed a capital crime by asking a question. In LA, the clerks were behind bullet-proof glass, so it was an antagonistic relationship too. In Florida, the clerks were mentally at the beach. In DC, the clerks were in a constant state of burn-out. In Denver, the clerks were in slo-mo. So really, I have been amazed by the clerks at Coolidge Corner. Sure, the post office is a bureaucratic nightmare and there are never enough clerks. Plus the signage is terrible and it's a miracle any piece of mail actually gets to its destination. But I've been amazed at how poised, calm, cool, and collected these clerks are. They have really good, wry senses of humor too. Take the time to thank them for their help. They are making the best of a bad situation. read more

I don't usually leave negative reviews, but one of the clerks was particularly rude/ condescending and people have to know to avoid this place lol. I was sending 3 packages, and right as I come in I put them on the floor (very heavy, filled with books) and a clerk (middle aged, short hair, male) says, "stop dragging them, dirt from the boxes will get on the floor." Ok, I wasn't. And the boxes were new so they're probably cleaner than the floor, but that was fine. Then he yells out where I'm sending them, so I tell him. And I write the addresses down onto the boxes, but he tells me they're in the wrong places, opening up with "gosh, i knew this was going to happen. to goes HERE and from goes THERE. you gotta go back in line." The condescending attitude was not necessary and that is not how you talk to people...don't know how he still has a job. Also I went early in the morning so there wasn't anyone else waiting in line, so his attitude couldn't have been just impatience or holding people back who were in line. Save yourself the trouble and go to the USPS in Brookline Village. Much more friendly and professional. They'll treat you like a human being! read more

Ok, this post office does always have a long line...always pretty much. But the workers are very friendly, nice, and helpful which counts for a lot when you've waited so long that you wish you could punch your fist into a wall (like Andy on that episode of the Office) Also, they do have a great automatic machine. If you just need certified mail, express, delivery confirmation use it!!! Don't be afraid. I did it one day and was in an out in five minutes. read more

I don't know why there are so many negative reviews here, but I'd give them 5 stars for having to deal with a bunch of difficult customers who come here to send off their mail. Had a large but simple order (all priority mail.) Came in ten minutes to close. Old shitbag hack clerk already complaining that my order is too big. "AHHH RIDICULOUS, WE CLOSE AT 7," to be exact. I unfortunately get this jowly mound of white entitlement as my clerk. Continues lecturing me on the size of my order. Finally starts. Still muttering about "closing at 7" like an alcoholic uncle about to pass out instead of entering zip codes like a big jowly man. He could have been done in no time had he not picked this hill to die on. After the second package he tells me "AWRIGHT WE GOTTA CUT THIS SHORT" and then prints out my receipt. Never mind that I now have to go all the way to fucking South Station to ship the rest so this MAGAshit mallwalker can work-to-rule like a good hack Sully. Brookline is already one of the most annoying, precious and bitchy places in MA, and this post office does nothing to help this long-standing truth. I'd rather witness my own murder than come back and deal with this lazy chalky idiot for whom entering zip codes is too much work and this trash USPS. I am angry that this guy is going to get to retire with a pension and my maintenance man (who has skills beyond pushing buttons) will not. read more

This post office is the slowest when there are a huge line! Usually the longer the line the slower the services or lack of! Sure, it's got all the services any major post office offer, but it's suppose to. The big downside is the lack of service. Almost all of the employees there are either very slow or unfriendly. The most unfriendly one is Steve, I've never seen him smile once and I've been going to this location for 5 years now. If I were the manager of this location, I would fire Steve right away, there are so many people deserving the job and will be happy to serve there! I tend to avoid this location now and use the 02445 office on Washington street which has much much better and faster services! read more

This is my go to post Office. It's open early and stays open late-- perfect for those of us who work. It gets busy, but things tend to move fast. I wouldn't say they are the most friendly people ( not many postal workers inside the post office are) BUT they get you in and out! read more

they are open until 7 on weekdays, and the cool ass old building is appropriately spooky. love the post office workers there, especially Tim, and the postmaster with the gray hair. The guy with the tattoos and Elvis style hair cut is super nice. I know a lot of people said that in their review, but I just wanted to add another comment praising how nice he is with the public. He really tries to help, and treats you with respect and kindness. This guy is the only reason why I am giving the star to this place. The rest of the employees will treat you very poorly, like you are a problem they want to get rid off. They probably have been there for too many years, but not my fault. All I want is just to receive decent attention, nothing more than that. read more

By far the worst customer service I had witnessed and received today. I was standing in line behind a few other customers and an older woman was asking if there's anyone else working since there was only 2 people. Then one of workers had yelled "next" and the woman had approached the counter. She was letting the man know that the service wasn't good and the guy continued to be rude such as saying "I'll help you if you silence yourself" then she carried on to say that that isn't the proper way of talking to someone. Then he proceeded to tell her "Beat it, I'm not going to help you, someone else can." The other man had called her an "old lady" The supervisor watching over the situation just stood there, didn't say anything to intervene. His name is Tom. Then it was my turn to go up, I went up to the counter and I handed the man the sheet of the address and he asked rudely "why are you giving me this?" I told him I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do. He went on saying you need an envelope, I asked where are they can you show me where they're placed? He said "Go look" in a very rude tone. I understand maybe they had a rough day. But that isn't the first time I've had an encounter with workers at that location before. That was by far not the right way to speak to a customer/customers like that. If you're going to work in customer service, you need to know how to properly, respectfully talk to a customer. If you do not know how to do that, do not work with people! Use the USPS in Brookline Village!! They're much nicer and more efficient! read more

I went to this location to renew my soon-to-expire 10 year passport, and Michelle was friendly, helpful, and incredibly efficient. I arrived a few minutes before 9am on a weekday (posted hours for passport services are 9a-3p) and was done and out of there by 9:10. I had pre-filled the form I thought I needed, but she pointed out I actually needed to complete a shorter version of the form, which she provided. I needed a new passport photo taken as well, which she did for me, and she was nice enough to look over my new form to make sure no fields had been left blank. I was nervous about this process but this PO made it easy and painless! read more

WORST POST OFFICE I've EVER been to. Avoid whenever possible. Use the branch in Brookline Village instead if you can. Based on my last experience at the Coolidge Corner branch, I plan on filing a formal complaint with the government and making it my mission to have their employee "Joe" formally reprimanded for his actions. Here's what happened. In advance of going to the post office today I called to find out when they were open until, and was very clearly told 5PM by the woman who answered the phone. Because I knew this particular post office is usually open on Saturday's until 4pm, I asked for confirmation that they were open until 5pm and was told "yes, 5pm." I gathered it was extended hours for the holidays. Since I needed to pick up a week+ of mail that was being held, I drove over. When I arrived at 4:06pm I found a crowd in front of the door which was locked. There was also a crowd inside - the usual VERY long line of people waiting. Someone acting as the manager (who when repeatedly asked for his name finally said "Joe" and refused to provide a last name) said they were closed and that he could not let us in. Others arrived saying that the woman who answered the phone told them they were open until both 5PM and 7PM today. "Joe" said that the woman does know what she was talking about and does not even work at the Post Office. WHY is a woman who does not work at the post office answering their phone and giving out incorrect information? Joe refused to speak with us and/or listen and it was very difficult to speak through the closed door due to traffic noise in the street. We asked Joe to open the door to talk to us and he refused. He needed to let customers out and threatened that if we do not move away from the door he would be forced to call the "Postal Police". When he opened the door we tried to keep it open just to speak to him - and we even said it was just to speak. We did not try to enter. Again he threatened to call the postal police, this time if we did not let go of the door so he could close it. Some people in the crowd said that they drove 1 or 2 hours to come get their mail and just wanted to avoid having to do so again. The entire time Joe was very rude, belligerent, and at no point showed any understanding of the meaning of customer service. It is also worth noting that I called back around 4:45pm when all of this finished, and explained the story to the person who answered the phone. I was asked for my address and told to wait, and the mail was brought out to me. (yes, after showing an ID.) At least there's one employee at the location who does a good job and understands the spirit of customer service. Note that I would never expect anyone to open their doors when they're closed, but in this case I made a special trip over there specifically because I was told they were open until 5pm. It was infuriating that "Joe" did not understand that this was not the customer's fault and that the customer should not be punished if someone representing his facility gave out incorrect information. I am also VERY concerned that non-postal employees are answering the phones giving out wrong information to people. Who knows what other access they have... a huge concern with rampant identity theft these days. As previously stated, AVOID this post office at all costs. Hopefully they will learn from the Brookline Village location. (And hopefully the Brookline Village location will not be closed due to USPS budget cuts.) read more

Beware when applying for a passport at this post office. Me and my husband and infant son went to the Coolidge Corner post office to apply for a passport for my husband and son. My husband had been recently naturalized as an American citizen. We read the applications instructions carefully, brought all the documentation, including photos that we took ourselves and formatted using the tools at the US Dept of State website. The postal workers we dealt with were aggressive and hostile. One yelled at my husband for putting his documents on the counter (where else was he going to put them? On the floor?). They kept rejecting our photos even though they complied with the Govt's specs. The first time they said the heads were too big, even though we measured them and they were well within the outer boundary. We left and went back a second time with reprinted photos with slightly smaller heads. A different worker (who we had never met) commented that he heard about us from his coworker from the previous day. He looked at our new photos and said the heads were still too big. His boss (a heavy set guy with white hair) came along, and eyeing the photos said the heads were too small. We wouldn't leave until they measured the heads of our photos and sure enough the heads were within the boundaries of the photo composition template. But the workers still refused to accept our photos - we asked the worker's boss what standards his post office was using to accept photos and he simply responded that he "decides" which applications go through. I was shocked by how irate and abusive he and some of the other workers became when we questioned the basis for their decision. Maybe they just wanted us to pay extra $$ for them to take our pictures. Maybe they disliked that a non-white immigrant was applying for a passport at their precious post office. We did not go back a 3rd time. Luckily there are a lot of other post offices near where we live. The worker at another post office just up the street (which serves a more diverse group of people) accepted our application (photos and all) and even applauded us for having everything so put together. We received our passports 2 weeks later. read more

I sent an envelope to Kirkland WA and unfortunately after almost two weeks, it was returned because of a difference of $0.28 cents. Actually, I was very dissapointed, but it was worst when I went to the Brookline MA facility and tried to talk to the cashier who had to take care of me (His name "TIM")who was really a mean and unpolite person who even didn't pay attention to me when I tried to share my bad experience and just moved to the back of the facility and asked me go to another window, even though I told him I wanted to mail back the package. Because of his bad behavior I did not have any other choice and I did it walking to the next available cashier, who took care of me. At the end I asked him to see the Supervisor. When the Supervisor came I told him about the bad attitude of "TIM" and explain the details. As well I told the Supervisor that it is the first time it happened to me and that I though that most of the personnel is nice except because of the man named "TIM". He promised to me to talk to "TIM". Hopefully he has talked to him. Finally, I think that this kind of workers should not be working with one of the most important US. Corporations, due to this kind of behaviors affect the image of the Corporation. What a shame read more

If they had zero or negative stars I would give them those. Stood in line with a young child for 2 hours (due to their inefficiency and problems) to renew a passport. The post office employees assured us the entire time that we would be seen. When we got to the counter one minute after the internal time they have set for accepting passport applications/renewals the employee completely refused to accept our application even though we explained how urgent it was and despite the fact he was holding an open envelope and stuffing in other people's passport applications. He was extremely rude and obnoxious and we and everyone else there were completely shocked. NEVER going back there again!! read more

If I could give this place a 0, I would. These people were 100% incompetent and rude on top of it. I was supposed to have a package delivered to me. They left a sticky note (like one you get at staples) on my door stating they could not leave it because my name was not on my mailbox (I just moved here...never had any trouble before, but i understand it is their protocol). I called there 4 or 5 times, was put on hold each time (one time for 10 minutes before they just hung up on me). i finally spoke to someone to see if my package was back there so I could pick it up in person. They told me it was most likely there (didn't even check). I went to the post office and it was not there. They gave me a time to call back the next morning). I called back, and the had already shipped it back to the sender...did not even make the 2nd attempt like they are supposed to. I told them that I called many times and came in there in person to pick it up, and yet they still shipped it back??? Ridiculous!!!!! *update: the package was shipped back to sender (as stated above) a week ago, and they have yet to receive it. I am pretty sure they lost the package. I am now out $130 because of this place. This is insane. read more

I wanted to like this office because it is my local post office and I do lots of business with them. However, I can't say I have had positive experience with this office. First, they don't leave you notice sometimes if they missed you, you only know you have missed packages when customers scream at you claiming you trying to delay their refunds; Second, the office don't try to redeliver even though online status says "we will try to redeliver next business day". It is misleading, you wait...patiently. Third, they don't redeliver even though they promise you they will after you hunt down the location of your package and requested redeliver. You need lots of patience when you get this far. The last but not the least, after you have done all those steps above but no package show up, you have to show up in the office to make inquiry, if your ID don't exactly match the package, they don't give it to you. It doesn't go anywhere even if you try to talk to the supervisor, they are unbelievable rigid. At this point, You have to let that package of yours go, emotionally and physically, back to the sender, start over! Eek, I wish individuates and supervisor there understand little bit more customer service. I am done with them, mostly, I will take my business to next door UPS. read more

We sent our save the dates through this post office, and no one had received them even in the Brookline area after 10 days of being mailed. We got worried, as that is not our experience with mail in the past. We called and were informed by the post office that they only send the mail once a week (what? that's insane, and has never been true in the history of mail as far as I know). The man I spoke to on the phone was harsh and rude - he laughed at me, interrupted me and said, 'don't worry about it, they just got sent, they will be received soon.' Then he hung up. Long story short, different people all over the states started receiving their save-the-dates after 20 days of being sent with no rhyme or reason to the timing - it took 6 weeks before the last person in Wisconsin got theirs. This explains why our rent check is cleared 2 weeks after we send it each month - we are probably always late, but never realized because WHY should mail delivery within a neighborhood take weeks?
