Stopped by around 4pm on a weekday and it was BUSSSSSY. When I arrived I was able to grab a spot but by the time I left, the parking lot was completely full. I usually try to knock out my mail errands earlier in the day before it gets busy so definitely keep that in mind and plan ahead for possible delays! The employee working was super kind and it was just refreshing to see everyone being patient and kind despite how busy it was! A second employee eventually came out to help move the line along which definitely helped. Be prepared to defend your outgoing mail like it's a court case. I printed the correct USPS Ground Advantage hazmat label and was still told it was wrong because the package did not have a Limited Quantity diamond label. After checking, I confirmed that it was not actually required for my shipment. Lost a full day over a single package. Came back home, canceled the USPS shipping label, and bought the exact same one again. If you'd like a smoother experience -- and avoid post office anxiety attacks -- try another branch. read more

This review is for the passport office. I came here to say Steve is the GREATEST OF ALL TIME. We had another appt cancelled on us over the weekend bc no one showed up to work for another post office so decided to press our luck with a walk-in Monday morning. This place does do pictures but not of infants, babies. Steve was super efficient, polite, and helpful. We were in and out in less than 10 min including photo. Don't forget a checkbook or debit card. Man, people like Steve, really kind of fix your day bc you're like maybe I should just be a Steve today too. The USPS office doesn't open until 8:30am but the lobby opens before bc it's shared with the passport office. read more

This place has extremely poor customer service and there is an employee there that committed theft. I went in to get a postage estimate and they took my mail slot tester tool. The employee claimed it belonged to them, but I received it from a postal worker years ago, and they said I could keep it. I consistently conduct mass mailing, so this will negatively impact my process. The inconsistencies in rules here are very unprofessional. Would not recommend utilizing their services if you don't have to. UPS down the street is a much better option. read more

Bellevue post office. Came after the holiday rush, but still quite a long line. The postal employees were very efficient and cordial, and the line moved along as best as could be expected. The layout of both the parking lot and the inside is not great, finding odd spots to either park or wait. There are huge banks of PO boxes near the rear, but the only entrance is the same one shared by the queue of people waiting for service. If the line is more than 4 people, you will have people constantly jostling to get through. They also have a passport office here, but were closed when we came. read more

Now that the downtown Bellevue US Postal Service has closed, this Bel-Red location in the Spring District is the go-to post office in the area. And I don't hate it. In fact, the downtown Bellevue location had always been an unpleasant experience, with long lines all the freaking time and staff made it clear they did not want to be there. But at this location, it's a different experience. I've been mailing some care packages to my bestie since the COVID-19 outbreak, so have visited this post office a few times, and it's always an easy process. You don't have to wait in line if you need to get postal supplies first. Just help yourself and find what you need and until you're completely done with your packaging, then you can get in line. I've seen the staff tell people to complete their packaging before processing payment, so make sure you get it done before joining the line. They also do have a self-service machine right when you walk in the door. I've always had luck in finding the packaging I need, including a variety of shipping boxes and envelopes that are fairly priced. The line moves quickly and staff have been pleasant. I never spend longer than five minutes here. There's plenty of parking and is easy to find. Convenient and efficient. read more

I took a package to the post office to mail out - I had it all packaged and I printed out my pre-paid label. I waited in line patiently- and when I got to the desk I was turned away because I did not tape my label. I asked if she could tape the label on and she said ' no we do not provide anything' .. I was shocked. She said come back when you tape this label on. I can't believe this post office would not tape on a label. I guess times have changed. read more

I haven't had any interaction with the employees at this location. I've come here to drop off mail. I've been here a handful of times and each time have noticed the boxes where PO Box holders stick other people's mail into have been overflowing. There's also been a long line for the counter. The parking lot here is not user friendly. You have to enter from around the back, go through the narrow lane that is one-way at 10 mph so no one back's into you and try to find parking before you go around the building and discover the dozen spots are full and you get to drive around the building again. Other post offices list earlier pick up time from their drop off box slot inside and those offices often don't send out the stuff dropped off in the inside drop off slot until the next business day if you miss that earlier drop off time. This is one of the slowest post offices I have ever been to. The parking lot is small and cramped, very weirdly layed out. Couldn't even imagine trying to park a truck in one of those spots. Always the same staff every time I've come in. This place makes me feel like I'm at the DMV with how slow they move. And it's like they don't even notice the line going out the door. Not very friendly either - unless you are a regular and they know you, then they'll chat as long as they want I only come here when I am in the area for work thankfully, so I don't have to deal with this place often. Only positive I can say is that my packages are scanned in quickly. Otherwise, so slow. read more

Everything we order something to my house address, it gets sent to the post office. We go to pick it up and they said that they will send it back because I don't have a po box here. My po box is in hailey. Really bad service since they are the one in charge of the package. It really sucks... they should at least save it to pick it up. I've been to my fair share of USPOs and this one is one of my favorites. The lines can get long just like any other office but the service folks here just seem nicer. They also have an oversized drop box for mailing out larger packages which is very convenient as I haven't seen that at other locations and that saves me a bunch of time of having to wait in line just for a drop off. read more

The staff are incredibly rude here, and don't even listen to questions you ask. I was here regarding details of an address change, and all the lady could do was point at a sign that did not even come close to answering my questions. On top of that, according to the staff, you can neither pick up nor drop anything off at this USPS location. (Well... then what's the point?) read more

First, I do not fault USPS in any way. My locking mail box was broken into again, and according to emails I received, the thief got sensitive info in those letters. It appears to me my locking mailbox was the only one broken into and vandalized. I receive emails along with snail mail copies so I know what info was compromised. As for the Vendors I buy from, I will inform them but will not deal with any of them including Amazon again unless the vendor guarantees the package will be delivered to my house not my mailbox. (one small package was pilfered, I doubt the thief know what it is for. I have little doubt that one of the neighbors knows who did it. I was repairing the mailbox lock when a resident came up to see what I was doing. I will add an addendum to the police report previously filed adding this information As for messing with the USPS, it is a federal crime. These people are really not very smart. It is not rocket science to put the pieces together. Kudos to Bellevue hiring an outstanding Top Cop. read more

I use this post office frequently and my experience varies depending upon which staff member serves me at the counter. The older asian gentleman is excellent - polite, friendly and very helpful so he is my preferred customer service representative. The younger man is polite and professional as well, but the other two staff members - an older white man with glasses and and an indian/middle-eastern woman have been rude and provided poor customer service to me and others more than once when I've been there - they are the reason I have to rate this post office only 3 stars instead of 5. If they don't want to work there then they should just go somewhere else instead of taking out their frustrations on customers! read more

Whatever you do, DO NOT RENT A PO BOX AT THIS LOCATION unless you're willing to pay for a box that's dumpster-sized. I've had a PO box here (including when they were located downtown) for about five years. Time and time again, I've had my mail damaged because they cram in mail addressed to the former box holder, despite repeated requests to stop. Many times, I've returned mail not addressed to me, and found it back in my box on the next visit....complete with my own handwriting informing them of the error. While I suspect that putting mail in boxes must be a soul-crushing job, if attention to detail isn't your forte, maybe go somewhere where getting names and addresses right aren't your primary responsibilities. Then there are the lines...don't even get me started on the lines; please learn from my awful experience; this place will leave no question as to why the term "going postal" alludes to a psychotic breakdown. This place really is the worst! If the USPS in its entirety is run as poorly as this location has been for untold years, a vote for privatization can't come soon enough. read more

As far as public philatelic institutions go, this one was pretty good. I came in here during the afternoon. There was no line, and the employee that served me (Mike) was awesome and friendly. He helped me pick out some stamps from the "these are the stamps that we are selling" board (which has magnets on them! How cute!), and although they didn't have exactly the ones I wanted (i.e. the board needs updating), he made the transaction quick and easy. I also wanted to buy some office supplies which USPS didn't sell, but he gave some suggestions and directions for where I could pick them up pretty easily. The location is pretty convenient. The entrance is a little obscure, but once you get the hang of it there's plenty of parking. read more

Postal Services unreliable, non-existent, faulty, no service for pay Jan 28, 2019 1.I mailed two Certified Return Receipt Requested [for which you are charged] letters in the November-December period. 2. The November one sat somewhere for the entire month of December. Good thing they did not just throw it away. 3. The one mailed in late December took several days to be delivered. Neither mailing provided the service I paid for, i.e., a Return Receipt. That cost $2.75, and the Certified Mail Fee cost $3.45. 4. What a waste. What a waste. What is the alternative..... I don't understand why people hate on the USPS. Had to apply for a passport and it took me like 10 minutes, picture taken and everything. I went there dumb as a brick, didn't have my checkbook, nothing. But the person working the desk was so freaking awesome, he walked me through the whole thing, paid only once for everything (money orders, fees, photos, etc..), absolutely no hassle, great attitude, would definitely apply for a passport at this location again. read more

This is my local Post Office and I am sad that it is slated for closure! I get it, it is run down, busy, the parking lot is a pain and the entrance is one of it's best kept secrets, but I still think it is pretty fantastic. Did you notice the new stamps available from the self service machines? Really cool and I bet it saves a great deal of money! Instead of stocking the machine full of stamps, the machine now prints stamps on demand. What a fantastic idea! I just bought 30 stamps from that machine and plan to use them. I like to send post cards, notes, packages and letters, all from the USPS. People love receiving them too! Why am I reviewing this Post Office? The self service machines are pretty awesome, making Post Officing a 24 hour a day business. The staff is super friendly and I hope they move over to the new location. I boxed up a package to mail out and when I took it up to the counter, the clerk explained to me a better way to package it that would save me about 50% of what I was prepared to pay. Visited this Post Office over lunch to box and drop off a package with a pre-paid shipping label. The wait was obnoxious with only two employees - one of which was only doing single orders. I think I spent half an hour waiting to be seen. This isn't terribly unusual for the Post Office in general, though. A word to those who don't physically use the Post Office on a normal basis (insert self), you have to tape your own boxes or buy tape there and seal it yourself. I'm ashamed to say I've learned this the hard way more than once. read more

So USPS is never my preferred method of shipping, but I had a prepaid return label so I had to go to them. They had an issue with my packaging. Drove the 8 minutes to the other USPS Bellevue location and had a very pleasant experience. Don't waste your time with this location. read more

I also think they have the best selection of stamps in town! I had an appointment at a passport office near my residence in seattle last week, but just as I pulled into the parking lot for my appointment (that I made two weeks ago) they called me to let me know that the passport office is closed. How generous of them! So instead, I got a tip from a friend that this passport office was open during the COVID19 pandemic and that the gentleman on staff who handled them was very kind. So I decided to take the 45 minute road trip to see if I can get my passport sorted out before my vacation (that might or might not happen) this summer. I arrived 25 minutes early but the man on staff told me that he would squeeze me in before his next appointment anyway! So we got everything out of the way quickly and painlessly. I felt silly for being so intimidated by having to apply for one- I was afraid that I'd forgotten something or there would be an issue with my application but everything went smoothly and he answered my questions perfectly. On top of that, I don't think his 11:15 ever even showed up so it worked out great. read more

I work out at a gym not too far from here and this was the closest USPS I could find. My trainers warned me -- "It's horrible there." I didn't know they meant the drivers and the people who were going in. I was nearly run down by someone who wanted out of the parking lot so bad. Also, my trainers failed to warn me that finding the entrance to this place would be slightly challenging. All in all, self-absorbed drivers and selfish people aside, the service I received was good. I wasn't charged anything astronomical. The man at the counter was friendly and affable enough. Parking was easy to access. No real complaints here. read more

*Update 1/11/17* So I wrote a review for this place just a few days ago, but already I need to review it - and unfortunately downgrade my rating, substantially. I found out today that I was grossly overcharged for a service here at this specific post office. What happened: I had two identical larger-size envelopes, both containing passport applications to the same address in Quebec, Canada. Both envelopes were identical in every way (one application was for me, and the other for my daughter). When I went to this Bellevue post office, I handed this envelope to the man at the counter (who was super nice), saying that I needed the envelope to get to their destination in the safest manner possible, as there were original documents enclosed, and it needs to be track-able and super secure. At this site, I was told to fill out a form and was told it would cost $41 to get to Gatineau in the most secure way possible. I thought that was steep but it was important enough to bite the bullet and pay. Well.... today I went to the Kirkland post office with my daughter's envelope and I told the clerk there the exact same thing (i.e., passport....original docs...most secure way...etc.). And the clerk gives me a different form to fill out and says the best way to send this is registered, and it costs $13-odd bucks. WOW BIG DISCREPANCY. (I told the guy about the Bellevue cost and he said my envelope must've been sent "Priority Express". But the lead time between both mailing methods were identical, both ways are supposedly secure and track-able, and there's no real difference between the two methods. Except the price. And this $30 difference). Needless to say, despite how nice the Bellevue clerk was, I will no longer be going to this post office. I can't trust that they'll advise me the best way to send my mail and packages out. I don't trust them at all. read more

Always fast and courteous! This past visit the worker told me the cost of shipping my flat rate box vs. if a shipped a non-flat rate box. Was kinda fun to hear the difference in price! She also took the time to tell me they have wider (game board size) large flat rate boxes only available online since mine was stuffed to the brim. Nice tip and appreciate her helpfulness. read more
