One of the worst post offices anywhere. Employees are grouchy, slow and often don't know what they're doing. There are almost always very long lines and rarely more than 2 of the 8 counters open. I recommend taking a beach chair with you to relax while you wait. Maybe take a nap. The place is dirty, worn out, and has a crumbling parking lot too. Those of us who live in downtown Bellevue used to have a much better Post Office, but it was torn down for a hotel. And absolutely no effort was put into handling the increased demand at the sole surviving post office. I genuinely hate doing business here. read more

OK when I walked in there I was like OMG, this line goes on forever.. But their customer service makes up for the dirty, dusty, broken down old building. Where to start? I've been trying to make an appointment over the phone for Passport renewal for three days now. Things I've encountered: *Phones literally don't work. Busy signals, dead line signals. I've called from land lines, cell phones, Skype - all sorts of messages, the lines clearly have issues. *Got through twice, first time, Passport guy is on lunch until 1, no one else is capable of scheduling apparently. I try again at 1, he's going to be out until 1:30, still no one can schedule. This is over 2 hours this guy has been out for lunch. Second time I got through, they "connected me" and the system just hung up on me after about 5 minutes. I work down the street, this would have been super convenient. Instead I just called the Issaquah Post Office and they got me scheduled in about 4 minutes. This place needs some serious improvement. read more

He has the answer to every passport question possible, is extremely efficient, multi-tasks like a total pro, and on top of all that expertise, he's a really nice guy. If you need passports, I recommend first stopping by in person. Steve will confirm for you which are the correct forms for your circumstance. WORST customer experience, ever. I make a call about a delivery issue, a very important and expensive one and they tell me they're closed and before i can respond - they hung up. Are you serious?? The lines are generally bad when I've been here at an array of times, and they've messed up a mail hold on me before, delivering mail to the aforementioned too small mailbox instead of holding it, a fact I only found out after waiting in line for at least 15 minutes at a non-peak time to be told that there was no mail for me there and it must be on the truck, which turned out to be the case. An apology? Absolutely not; tax cuts must have eliminated their budget for customer service training. Moderate lines, but the people working are impressively efficient - friendly, patient, well-informed. A wide suite of fairly clearly marked machines, mail slots, and PO boxes, and in a convenient location. The 24-hour drive-by boxes are also useful, especially for my family, who leaves paying bills for the last minute, then insists on immediate delivery. Can you change the channel on the broadcast music? Between the suite of cancer-service ads and horrible pop music, standing in a 15-minute line was torment yesterday. Have you ever been to a post office without having to wait in a long line? Me neither. I even tried going somewhat early on a Saturday morning (around 9AM), and I was shocked to find that there was only one person working behind the counter!! Aren't Saturdays super busy at the post office?? You would think they would make sure to be sufficiently staffed for a Saturday, but guess not... As with all government-run offices, though, what else would you expect? On the plus side, there was plenty of parking, and the one woman who was working was surprisingly friendly, efficient, and helpful. So, I'm not a fan of the ugly 70's storefront, or the single-manned Saturday morning office, but for the sake of the great work ethic this one gov't worker had, 4 stars. ** Make sure you only stop by there when you're not in a rush to go anywhere else though! read more

This is the most conveniently located Post Office in the Bellevue area. The parking is confusing as all get out until you figure it out the first twelve times. Yes, you drive around the entire building and you have to take that tiny little narrow turn and if you miss it, you're driving around the building again. Other than that, that place is awesome. The customer service is great, and they always have all the shipping necessities stocked and ready for purchase. I learned after trying to mail something here the first time that it really is expensive to send anything VIA USPS, but that's not their fault. The people who work here don't get to set the prices, that's someone higher. They have a little kiosk to self service so you can skip the line if you're all ready to go. But other than that, always expect to wait a couple of minutes. read more

Even though there is always a line, it typically moves pretty fast! I frequent this store often for seasonal stamps and mailing packages. The clerks are quick once you are up to the front of the line and are efficent, which I love! Plus, you can get your passports here! Parking is usually easy and it is a breeze to get here as it is in downtown Bellevue, right by the mall. read more

USPS sucks!!!!!!!! Had 3 packages in the last two months lost during delivery or was never delivered. Also had my mail opened on multiple occasions. All mail opened were my financial statement and USPS just put them in a big envelope and deliver the opened item to me all together. What the hell!!!!! read more

It's not particularly new or shiny. In fact the building is pretty run down. But they are one of the more full service post offices in the area -- basically that means that they have passport services -- which I have had need to use before. Since it's the major hub for Bellevue, it means that the lines do get pretty long and the parking is in short supply. read more

Customer service needs work. The employees are typically disgruntled in most of my visits. Today, I came by to pick up a package at 5 pm but the building was locked. They had a sign saying they moved to a different address, but it was not very obvious. Drove to the new location only to be told that the package pick up is still at the old building which closed an hour and a half earlier than posted. As far as Post Office's go, the staff that works here has been very friendly each time I have gone in. It does always seem busy, but they seem to work quickly to get each person helped and out the door. The entrance and exiting with the parking is tricky and forces you to come and leave in one direction - plan for this if you are in a hurry, especially during the 5pm hour. read more

I mainly use this post office for as much automated and self-service as possible. There is an Automated Postal Center (APC) machine in the lobby, like an ATM for handling small packages. Most stuff I mail is typically less than 5lbs domestic and I try to pack my stuff before heading here. Tip: don't pack stuff in the lobby - the lobby doesn't have any supplies to assist with packing such sealed polymer film bags containing air or cargo rated transparent adhesive bonding strip. I do all the packing at home or at my office and just stop by with all of the various parcels that I need to send out. Anyway, using the APC at any given hour of the day or night is a real convenience for me as I don't want to deal with the notoriously long lines of the full service counter - and I would have to adhere to the full service schedule. During the times I've been using this facility as my postal center - I've used the Full Service counter only twice, once to deal with an error with my PO BOX, and once to send out an international parcel. During both incidents of using the Full Service Counter - I was the first person in line at the beginning of the business day - as I don't like waiting in line. For the parking, the primary entrance is heading East on NE 12st. Those heading west on NE 12st can use the turn lane to get into the postal parking lot. About the parking lot - it's in poor state of repair - due be careful of the potholes. There is many crocodile crackling in that parking lot, and some of the potholes are a wee bit large and deep. It may damage wheels/tires for those who use non-standard equipment on their vehicles. The building itself is showing wear as well, reminds me of old school buildings from the 1980's which haven't been maintained. The front door has a damaged arm for the door closer apparatus - which hasn't been fixed in a couple of weeks. There's notification that this building will be closed and all services will be migrated - but it appears that notification has been removed. So, not really sure about the future fate of this facility. read more

I got my taxes in on time, but another guy got there just before 6, which is closing time. This is tax day...people get fines from the IRS if not postmarked today. A worker came and locked the door on that guy..my phone said before 6, the post office clock said before six, she locked the door anyway...that poor guy is going to have to pay a 25% penalty. This is a very old post office and has a hole in the ground feel to it. There are always lines 10 to 15 long all day long and few cashiers. The things I love about this place is hie friendly the people working there are. Hats off to them as I am sure the get a lot of Gruff because of the lines and they keep smiling. read more

What makes this store nice is the quickness and kindness of it's employees. There is line most of the times here , but the service is relatively fast. During the day parking might be a problem. It's sort of complicated and difficult to find the entrance of the parking lot. As far as the stationary items you can find pretty much any postal related merchandise. If I could give this place zero stars, I would. I avoid going here at all costs. I now either go to Goin' Postal in Bellevue where I can get pricing to ship USPS, UPS or FedEx and then make a decision, or the post office in Kirkland. The best example of how poorly it is run is the fact that the "do not enter" sign that is supposed to be hanging just before the lane coming from the drop boxes on the north side of the building was not on the post, but sitting on the ground leaning against the post. So, a wrong way driver totally caused an accident with my car as I was going the correct direction, and 6 months after telling the supervisor about the sign that was not properly installed and the accident, it was still not hung up. So, decide for yourself. Things inside aren't much better. read more

Called in today to check on the location of a package. Wasn't sure what to expect on the other end of the line, but was pleasantly surprised by an employee who sounded like a young lady. Not only did she know what to ask me for, but she knew where to check, and she came back with a detailed update. She was friendly, fast, and efficient; it was nice. Sure enough, my delivery arrived a few minutes after our phone call. She's awesome. :) I still miss the old post office, though. ;( read more
