I have come here dozens of times to pick up/drop off packages / buy stamps, update my passport ect...Usually the service is alright, but what gets me is that there is always a wait literally going through the door. I know its not their fault, they over worked, but I just don't recommend this place. If you are in a rush, go to FEDEX. Also, anything regarding passports takes forever because the lady is only in for a few hours a week. Passport photos can be taken a block away at CVS for a few bucks. This is a more detailed follow up to an earlier review. We travel a lot, and put mail on hold. When asking for mail hold, the online form gives one the choice of having the carrier restart delivery or the recipient come in and pick it up. Only ONCE out of over 10 times have they gotten it right. The last time when I went in and complained that they had once again not restarted delivery, the clerk said," They (I assume she meant the carriers) don't like to do it. They like you to come in." My response," I don't care. The online form gives us that choice, and that's what we chose." REALLY- they don't like to deliver my mail? A month ago we put in a temporary address change, and guess what, we're not getting our mail. And surprise, when I try to call, either the line is busy, or it rings for minutes with no answer. By far the WORST post office I've ever been to. I run an ecommerce website so I'm constantly shipping stuff and frequenting mail couriers like FedEx, UPS, and USPS, I use USPS more than the others and for the most part, it's fine, but this particular post office is so incredibly poorly managed that I'm genuinely surprised it hasn't been shut down already. Problem #1 [and likely the most fundamental issue] : STAFF Don't get me wrong, they're nice people, but man are they a set of the slowest individuals I have ever seen. I haven't timed it, but it seems like it take an average of 5-10 minutes to process 1 person. The staff is a series of middle aged men and women, slow middle aged men and women. Look I get that not every customer has their ducks in a row when they show up there and they ask questions, but there's so much fluff and talking. For example, I didn't need to know an entire backstory about how they came up with "Beaver" as a nickname for one of their coworkers. We're not standing in line so we can have our therapy session or someone to talk to, we're there to complete a shipment, that's it. There were even times where there was an entire row of people waiting in line, so naturally one would think (okay, there's a line, we need to speed this up and hurry it along) right?.....wrong. Same exact pace regardless. It's bad enough that USPS is notorious for losing packages or failing to conduct scans for updates, but combine that with an inadequate staff and it's a deal breaker. Again, these are not bad people, not at all, they're just not ideal for this set up. If I were managing, I'd either wipe out the staff and start over or comprehensive retraining with an emphasis on being able to do their jobs with wait times in mind. I know it sounds harsh but it's a business not a non-profit volunteer based operation. #2 - This branch looks like a cross between the TV show hoarders and American Pickers. The walls are dirty, so are the ceilings. The 'displays' on the wall behind the counter look like the whole thing was passed off to an elementary school student to create. If it's not beings used, get it off. And if it is being used, try not to make it look like its held together with elmer's glue and good intentions. Take some pride in your business's appearance. The filth of this place is unbelievable only outshined by its severe lack of organization. There's junk on the counters, junk on the floors, junk on the walls, personal effects decorated amongst their terminals, like a poor man's frat house except without any alcohol to distract you from the reality of this place. Clean it up. #3: Has nothing to do with this particular branch but more in general: PLEASE STOP RAISING YOUR PRICES.....It seems like they just keep going up and up and up and you're getting less and less. It is not our fault you ran up a deficit you can't pay. And price hiking is only going to cause whatever money they ARE making, to now go to alternative mail couriers. If this branch is a posterchild of how USPS rungs its business, then I'm not surprised USPS is struggling to stay alive. File Chapter 11 and be done with it. read more

PROS: Typically more than 1 cashier at a time. CONS: Slow, elderly employees lack sense of urgency or speed, LOVE chatting up customers. I swear I can't go into this place and stand in line without hearing a few stories by the time I get up to the counter. I know the job is mind numbing, but please, do your job and spare me the anecdotes or stories about your animal-type nicknames for your co-workers, I assure you, no one cares. The building looks like it's been preserved since the 1930's. Terrible infrastructure, lacks modernized postal technology, and you can forget about USPS Self Service Kiosks, they don't exist here. Honestly what bugged me the most about this place was that the the priority seemed to be entertaining yourself rather than getting the line down quickly. Lady, I DON'T CARE ABOUT ONE OF YOUR INTERACTIONS WITH YOUR EARLIER CUSTOMER and neither does the guy you're stopping to tell the story to. Seriously? It was already after 5PM closing time, they locked the door, 8 people in line, BUT LET"S START STORY TIME. If I were running this place I would wipe them all out and replace them with people who can actually do the job right. read more

FIRST my mailman complains about having to get out of his truck and walk 2 feet to my mailbox...so we park far away for the convenience for someone to do their job. YESTERDAY I got a note to pick up my 2 parcels...can't find it at their mess of a post office and the mailperson didn't know where it was... 2nd can't find it. what a joke. I would like to give Azusa Post office five stars just because of the reason they took walk-in passport service and photocopied all of the needed documents for free. The line was Not Long and the staff are friendly. I didn't know it became so hard to have a passport application. I tried many calls to different passport acceptance facilities a week ago. Most of them acquired make appointments in three weeks if you want Saturday. We even drive to El Monte Post Office but found the Appointment Only Sign there. We apply it for our son so both parents need to be there. Who has the time to show at the facilities at 11am or 2 PM in the afternoon in weekdays? Among all of the calls, we found only Baldwin Park took walk-in. So this Saturday we drove there but was told they did not take any more since it was full. Come on, it was 9:10 and the post office just opened. Thanks for the Azusa Post Office relieved me from all of these hectics. read more

Their website says the passport service is until 4pm. I arrived at 3:30 to find out it's only until 3pm. WTF!!! Why haven't you people changed that on your website?!?!?!?! I drove like a madman from El Monte to Azusa, for me to get turned down. Their answer to everything is, "Would you like to speak to a supervisor?". And when you do, you end up walking away even more angry than before you spoke to the supervisor. I will never come here again! I need to start paying more attentions to the reviews. WORST POST OFFICE EVER!! everytime i go they either mess up my package by not scanning it or loosing it. its so annoying. the lines always big. They have like 2 clerks . its ridiculous how long everything takes. after them loosing my xmas package i am DONE with this place. never again. i rather drive far and be treated better. something really needs to be done to fix these problems. read more

Regarding POBOXES here, I recieve other peoples mail in my pobox regularly which makes me very uncomfortable with the idea of them putting my mail in the wrong box too. Someone really has to take care of that issue. They also changed the password to my pobox without notifying me and i had that password for maybe 10+ years. I had to go ask them about it because i had no idea why it wouldnt open. They lost my pobox payment this past year that i mailed in THEIR OWN facility -___- so my pobox was closed without me knowing and i lost who knows how much mail and a check as well. Thanks a lot. A few weeks ago i mailed two letters one to my insurance, and one to a friend. Neither of the cards were recived which leads to my assumption that this post office lost the letters i dropped off inside the facility. The women are really sweet here however lines are really slow sometimes due to their conversations with customers. read more

Worst service ever! Business as usual for them!!! If I can get away from this post office and its delivery personnel I would! Delivery man never delivers packages to my door but if I go in to pick it up its "out for delivery". For the past five days I've been trying to get my package by going into the post office while my husband waits by the front door, and nothing!!! Their excuses are: is that no one answers the door. . . WE WORK FROM HOME, it's out for delivery or simply can't find it but will get to me by COB! WTF?! I hate this post office. I buy from Amazon all the time and the Azusa Post Office always jerks me around with my packages. They either throw my boxes over on my patio while the items are breakable. They make me go down to that post office and wait for ever, or they don't bother to leave me a slip saying my Christmas packages are here when online it says they are on there way to my house. read more

Let me start out with the positive: The workers here are nice. Okay, now that's enough of that. This is the slowest post office ever! Long, slow moving lines regularly accumulate, and then there's not enough parking in the lot and on the street for everyone who is waiting; so I have to park in the lot across the street. This is particularly a hassle if I am carrying several packages. Also, I have received many damaged items in the mail, and my mail has been lost several times since moving here a bit over two years ago. I would say that a total of ten envelopes or packages I was expecting have been lost or handled improperly: Four of those times, the envelope or package did not have tracking and was lost, and six of those times, tracking stated that a package was delivered to me on a certain day when it was not. Of the ones with tracking, a few times, it was delivered the next day; a few times, it was lost; and one time, a neighbor received the package and brought it to me. What's the purpose of tracking if it's not accurate though? This has happened to me once again this week, so I finally decided to complain about it elsewhere instead of just to the post office like I have been doing. Frustrating! read more

Workers are too lazy to even walk a few extra steps to attempt to deliver a package. They are too lazy to even fill out an "attempt to deliver slip." I've had this happen to me twice. Not only that but I put in a request to have my mail forwarded to a new address and they started forwarding the mail a week and a half ahead of time from the requested date. When i called to let them know that i had not received my mail (for a week) and mentioned that they where probably forwarding my mail ahead of time the guy just said "Well I'm not holding/forwarding your mail but then again I am not a mail man so i don't now if they would be holding your mail. I don't see why we would hold/forward any of your mail ..your getting what you are suppose to get." The guy didn't even bother to check their computer system. Two days after I got four letters with yellow "coa not effective deliver to old address" labels. If the guy would have just checked the system he would have noticed that the mail was being forwarded to the new address when they where not supposed to be forwarded. Not only that but when I tried calling about my mail not being delivered it took me two days to finally getting someone on the phone.
