Awesome local business to support! They accepted me as a last minute appointment and did an amazing job. I had an Indian wedding to attend and had no time to do my nails after getting in later than expected. Nail beds were a MESS. She suggested I do a pedicure and then a gel manicure so that it wouldn't chip throughout the weekend (since my hands would be handling tons of jewelry, etc). (See pics for results a few days later - they're still perfect). She helped me pick out the perfect color to coordinate with my outfits and henna. She took her time so I didn't feel rushed but kept a great pace since I had to be in and out in an hour. Best of all, the owner (who did my nails) is such a kind and genuine person. We had great conversations while she worked and I am actually sad I won't get to see her more since I'm from out of town. When I do come into DC though, I'll never go anywhere else! Tips: Be kind! The pandemic brought hardship on a lot of small businesses and so she is running the place all by herself most of the time. I am so happy to have a decent nail salon close by to home. The ladies here are super accomodating and very sweet. I've been in twice so far for pedicures so I can't say anything about the manicures. The prices aren't too bad and quality of the service is high so I can't complain. The only issue I had was on my most recent visit when the nail technician over-snipped my cuticles and drew blood. I had to tell her to ease up on my other foot because I could tell she was close to cutting me again. read more

*Update*: While I thought my nails were done well-- again no frills, but well executed, today 3 days later I see that my shellac nails are fading. One of my nails will likely come off by the end of today because it was not sealed well and it now is barely on my finger like a press-on. The ladies were kind and the nails were good for the event I went to that day, but shellac and gel nails are supposed to last two weeks and these are fading on day 2.5-3. You should know potentially what quality you may get given the price tag. ($55 shellac mani/basic pedi). Needed to get my nails done for a wedding quickly and happens to find this little gem. The ladies of this shop were very kind and pleasant. They were able to take me quickly and I was in and out. I got the no frills pedicure and shellac nails-- both were done well-- and I'm picky. My artist was patient and redid a few nails--to ensure I was fully satisfied. I was taken aback by the old school just soaking of the feet given they have massage chairs for the pedi area-- no bubbles but it still did the job. Their shop is on the second floor just a tip if you try to find it and walk past it :). read more

The staff were really great but I got a lot of red flags at this shop. The pedi tubs were all half full of standing water even on a pretty slow Wed afternoon, and my tub wasn't filled further when I sat down (just the bubbles turned on). In general the place was a little rough and dirty around the edges. read more

I have been to a few nail salons in DC and this is my favorite. It's a basic no frills nail salon by the Zoo. They do have new comfy chairs, and they have water and sodas for you. The best part is they have 2-3 brands of nail polishes that are good , they last and are sooo pretty. All colors of the rainbow and more! The staff are so nice and sweet. It's under new management and they are in a tricky spot where you know they are there when you look up and see the sign NAILS!! OPEN!! There are upstairs above a hair salon. They have a GresT mani pedi deal I highly recommend! I went 3 days ago, just cleaned house from top to bottom and my nails are STILL in perfect shape. I didnt wear gloves while cleaning. This place is pretty pricey and fairly rundown. I had walked 12 miles one day in some very flimsy sandals, and as I got off the metro realized that I could pop in for a splurge pedicure with all of the massage chair goodness and scented salt scrubs. Overall the experience was nice. I got there about 45 minutes before closing and they didn't appear to be rushed at all. The massage chairs all work properly and have more options on their controls than many of the others I've sat in. They had the normal menu of options for colors, but also a lot of the new/trendy/edgy colors that are harder to come by. I was offered a variety of drinks. While this place is expensive, I really liked that they handed you a list of there services with a full description and the prices--this makes far less shocking at the end, and allows you to prioritize certain treatments. They also let me substitute one service for another that was included in the pedicure package I had selected. In the chair next to me, a male college student was getting his first pedicure and they were treating him kind of like a science project, every so often the other manicurists would go look and they'd talk about his feet and ask questions. He seemed a little embarrassed and his girlfriend looked mortified. read more

Very happy with service here. I see Holly but Wendy is also terrific. They have a lot of technicians so even without an appointment there is seldom a wait. The first time I was here I was not happy with the clearly new technician and got up to leave. The owner insisted I stay and they had someone else do my nails for now charge. I've been a loyal customer since. I am very picky about nail salons and especially getting pedicures and this is the only place I want to go. read more

Very happy with this place! Pedicures are generally a luxury for me, so it stings a bit to shell out so much money for a rushed job. I showed up to US Nails as a walk-in, but probably received the most attentive mani-pedi service I've ever had. My fingers and toes look great! Especially appreciated that I was given three coats of paint on my toes without asking (the color I chose was a little streaky, but she took her time and made sure the finished look was perfect). After day 2, my hand nails have already started chipping/peeling, leading me to believe they thin their polishes. No crazy wear and tear (I work in an office) so bad results considering I could have done a better job at home on the manicure. Prices were steep actually given condition of salon (very run down). $45 for mani/pedi!!! They were nice but that's about it. I will not be returning. read more

Lovemy pedicure however I waited soooooooooooooooooo long. The water in the bowl went cold.. That ls a long wair. I know I waa a walk in BUT I wasn't told how long I was going to have to wait. The atmosphere isn't relaxing either due to the lack of decor - looks like they either stopped in the renovating or are in the middle of renovations. I asked for a five dollar discount due. I had such a terrible manicure experience today at this nail salon. As the woman was cutting my cuticles, she suddenly stopped and apologized to me numerous times. I heard her shout at her coworker and I saw her rush over with a tiny bottle of blue solution. Confused by the commotion, I finally realized that I was bleeding. She had me wash my hands and proceeded to paint my nails after I stopped bleeding. I should have left, but she was so apologetic that I brushed it off. After my nails were done, she had me sit at the dry off station. Another customer then walked in at this time so I was rushed off to pay my bill even though I had a feeling that my nails weren't completely dry yet. I asked for the discount offer I saw on their website, but they wouldn't honor it. I begrudgingly paid the full amount anyway just so I could get out of the stuffy room and even tipped her. As I was putting my wallet back, my nail polish smudged. Instead of redoing the entire nail, she simply put more polish on the smudge and walked away from me. I absolutely would not recommend this nail salon to anyone. read more

I decided to try this nail salon because it is right beside my work. It's still relatively new so you can get in with someone immediately, which is a plus. I've been in 3 times now for pedicures, gel manicures, and polish changes. The ladies that work there are really friendly and are very detail oriented and ensure that your nails look amazing every time. The few downsides is that the don't offer beverages and there is no background noise (TV/Music). So, with it being so slow and them not speaking english well, the awkward silence and lack of conversation makes you want to hurry up and get out of there. Aside from that I've never had my nails look better and unlike other assembly line nail salons in the area that rush through services and provide crap work, they really go above and beyond to ensure their work is quality. read more

I'm visiting the DC area and this was the only nail salon within walking distance in the Woodley Park area. I called the day before to make an appointment for a pedicure for the next morning. I asked for a 10am appointment since their sign said that is the time they open on Sundays. The woman on the phone laughed and said it's Sunday we open at 11am. I told her their sign and information online says 10am, but I will take an 11am appointment. I got there at 11am and no one was there. I waited around until 11:20am and no one showed. I even called several times and there was no answer. I would never give this nail salon a second chance. It was very unprofessional not to show up or even call me to let me know if they were running behind when I scheduled an appointment. If I had a choice I wouldn't give them any stars. read more

I have had very few pedicures in my life that have left me this happy. The staff is friendly, the services offered were diverse and exciting (I got a lovely lavender wax treatment on my feet!) and there was a solid color selection. My pedicurist took great attention to my feet and I think they look and feel amazing. A next step would be better communication about temperature- hot meant hot here! I was at a conference around Woodley Park yesterday and I stopped in here for a quick gel manicure. They were very busy, and had more clients than nail techs, but you see that everywhere. I really liked that she used actual OPI gel polish, and not some no-name mysterious import generic gel polish that peels off after a few days. I thought $30 was a little pricey, but hey - it's DC... what do you expect? I was in and out in less than 20 minutes! Sadly, my mani only lasted a week. Oh well. read more

One of the best underarm waxes I've had in the city. Even on a busy Saturday I was in and out in about 7 minutes as a walk in. The technician was fast but also paid attention to detail, making sure to pluck the hairs she couldnt get get with the wax. Not that she had any trouble with the wax- unlike most people doing my underarms for the first time, she had no trouble navigating my course hairs, even though they grow in a bunch of different directions. read more

Went in with a groupon for a gel manicure and classic pedicure. As soon as I arrived the owner gave a 15 minute monologue about why I should cancel my groupon and pay her instead. once I cancelled the groupon I was waiting with my feet in cold water for at least 40 minutes before anyone started on me and this was AFTER making an appointment. The pedicure was fine but took awhile. The manicure was an absolute DISASTER. Not only did the technician cut my cuticles, their gel nail dryers seemed to not work so they kept switching me into different ones. While getting a manicure the owner again went into her monologue about cancelling the groupon as if I hadn't heard her the first time. When the gel manicure was "done" it looked sloppy and like I was wearing old polish. When I expressed my dissatisfaction she had the nerve to say it was perfect. Never once did she offer to fix it. I asked for the polish at least to be removed and she said she would CHARGE ME even though it was their sloppy work that had me make the request. Longest worst experience in a nail salon I have ever had in my life. Do not buy a groupon or visit here you will regret it; find somewhere that has excellence and better customer service as the standard. read more
