Beyond her flawless work, Ruth hablas Español conmigo! It's w win-win situation. This place is convenient just of N Capitol. Parking had been easy and in the neighborhood both times I've visited. Also they have A TON of colors. Somewhat overwhelming for a Gyal like me, but variety is the spice of life! The pedi chairs leave a bit to be desired, but it's a small p price to pay for the quality and value I find here. My Gyal Ruth is the truth! read more

0/10 would not recommend. Called ahead and when I came in (I'm disabled) with my working animal who is clearly naked the man said "go home we are afraid of dogs." I said sir, this is a working animal he is not a pet and if I have any health issues he is necessary to perform those tasks. The man said "no go home" even when I tried to explain ADA issues. It's really shameful and problematic for a company like this to treat people so poorly while disabled especially the comments that were made in front of others read more

Left with a bleeding gash on my right foot! It's unfortunate because I'm low maintenance so I could shrug at the mess of the salon and the staff shortage (long wait time). I got the gel pedi for $50. He was doing an excellent job removing my callous, moving fastidiously until he took a wrong stroke and scraped my top skin. It's a mistake, it happens, however, my tech didn't apologize or feign sympathy. I asked for a cotton ball for my bleeding top foot and instead of retrieving it he took a break!! I waved the front desk for a bandaid and she meekly said they don't have any bandaids! NO acknowledgment let alone discount/apology I suggest you stay away front my male tech. He was arrogant and completely unprofessional; had the nerve to hold my receipt as I signed, shaming me to tip. The other techs had regulars and seemed more grounded. read more

The amount of time you will spend in this salon for simple services is unreal. Despite the long wait times, with or without appointment, the staff is quite rude and unapologetic. This has been on more than one occasion. Please do yourself a favor and don't give this business your time or money- a waste of both. read more

I was nervous to try this place but impressed with the end product. Mimi was skilled and probably gave me the most thorough gel manicure I've ever had. The massage chairs were new and I appreciated that the tools were in a sanitary package. My two qualms were that the place wasn't sparkling clean. When it comes to a nail place that would be my preference. Also, the dryer for my toes was small fans which might hav me been a problem had I not gotten a manicure afterwards (thus the 4 stars) HOWEVER, My gel manicure and pedicure was only $45 which is the least I've ever paid for both. Everyone was super friendly. In fact, two other employees chatted with me. The location is slightly sketchy but I felt 100% safe. Whether you are a local or a guest to DC, I recommend! read more

Staff was friendly but the service was horrible . Asked for a design that they seemed to not be able to do. I was flexible so asked for solid colors to make it easy. The guy kept cutting me and making me bleed. All I received was a sorry excuse of my skin being too "sensible". I've been to many nail salons and some have cut me once and that was understandable but the amount of time I got cut was ridiculous. Payed $60 to have mediocre nails and cuts all over my fingers. read more

The customer service is out of this WORLD! Which is sooo difficult to say about nail shops especially in DC! The owner Shelia was sooo nice! One of her new employees was doing my nails and the owner came over at the end to finish them up and we had great conversation and she even offered free stickers to add on my nails. She recognized I was new to her shop and she did an awesome job getting to know me and ensuring I continue to come back so I can be a customer for life! Oh of course I loved my nails as well! I had my dip taken off here the other day and it's safe to say I will never go back. The woman who took it off, used the drill a little bit, and then, instead of soaking them and putting foil on, she took cuticle clippers and picked all of them off. It hurt so bad, making me flinch multiple times. I have NEVER had anyone take dip off by picking them off like that. It's been a few days and my nails are still so sore. Not to mention the nail station was disgusting and looked like they hadn't cleaned in weeks. I'm shocked that a nail place like this keeps up business in Downtown Crown. read more

Oh my god do not go this place is unsanitary ! Beyond the 10 year dust accumulation, the woman working on my nails cut a hang nail too deep and I started bleeding. She then tried to fix it by putting cuticle oil on my bleeding cut and then she put the bleeding brush back in the jar!!! It was then I became highly alert that she never took her utensils out of a sanitary baggie. She just sprayed them with a clear liquid that I assume was rubbing alcohol. My finger is now infected and I will have to go to the doctor. Do. Not. Go. Here. They need to be shut down as this place is a health hazard! read more

This place is great! I had my eyebrows done and for $6 this is the cheapest I've been able to find in DC. The woman who did them was very sweet and spent time on them -- she even bothered to tweeze them afterward and I find that not all places do that. I was pretty satisfied with the results. It didn't look terribly crowded but there were people waiting in line for pedicures and stuff. Glad this business is here in the neighborhood! read more

Awful service! I've had good experiences but many where I have been slighted. These place isn't clean at all but very cheap. They offer OPI but many of them are old. The manicurist I had (shoulder length brown sparing hair) was horrible! She didn't know what she was doing and I could tell as soon as she asked me to pay her before she even started filing my nails! She didn't even coat the nail correctly! The sides of my nails were not covered at all. The nails were streaky, meaning the polish was old and she kept stroking the paint over and over and over and over...it looked like tire tracks. I complained to management and they told me she did me a favorite because "she clean cuticle yeah?" Idek what that MEANS but I'm saddened I paid $20 for a piss poor manicure. My eyebrows however, were good. I have natural full and shaped brows so it doesn't take much to do them well. Overall: I just can't. I've been slighted more times than treated correct...and don't even consider asking for a refund bwahaha what are thoseeeee? read more

I recently moved from the San Francisco Bay Area to DC and have been looking for a nail salon for a while. It had been a little over a month since the last time I got a mani-pedi, so my hands and feet were in DIRE need of some care. I chose to go to Glamour Nails because it's a short walk from where I live, they've had positive reviews since they were taken under new management, and because they had great prices. I got a gel manicure and regular pedicure and don't remember the last time I've been this pleased with the end result. Upon my arrival, I was immediately taken to a new massage chair and was presented with a plethora of gel nail colors to select from. I was lucky enough to have Jay, an absolute miracle worker, take care of me today. He was so kind, accommodating, and friendly from the moment I walked in! Jay paid close attention to detail when shaping my nails, cutting my cuticles, and painting them. On top of that, he worked quickly and efficiently, gave great massages, and we had great conversations. I was so impressed with my nails and am 100% coming back for my next mani-pedi. Thank you guys! read more

Meh. They're just ok. I mean, I wasn't expecting glitz and glam (despite the name of this place) because I know that you usually get what you pay for in this town. The manicures are $10, a mani+pedi is $25, and a gel mani is just $25. The place isn't clean n' tidy and the waiting area is pretty small, but on the plus side, their gel nail polish color selection is awesome. And I hear they do decent acrylic, nail artwork, eye brow waxing. So if you can get in and get out quickly, you might be able to overlook some existing challenges (prior customers' fingernail clippings and filings everywhere, questionable technique and equipment, etc.) and enjoy a good deal. read more

It's a no-frills nail salon: no "complimentary" champagne, lotions, or fancy amenities. But that's what makes it so great. Most of the customers I've observed here so far have been neighborhood regulars. I chalk it up to the prices which are budget-friendly, especially for DC, and a consistent staff. One recommendation I do have is to be upfront and forward with your technician. The usual pleasantries aren't really exchanged here-- they just jump right into it. So be sure to tell them what you want before you start. And look, I get it. The interior isn't posh or modern. Plus with the plethora of luxury salons in the city where a host will greet you and make you feel special, it's tempting to go elsewhere. But let's say you already know you're special, you're not impressed with free beverages, and just want a goddamn mani or pedi without all the fuss-- this is your spot. read more

Glamour Nails - $25 for a gel mani in DC, hard to say no. - Nail Salons Near Me - Washington, DC, District of Columbia

I just want to say that i love this nail salon, I was in DC for a Mary Kay Conference, and i ran out of time back home in New Jersey to get my Full set of acrylic Gel nails and a gel pedicure. So i found a 3 salons online and I walked into one and walked back out they didn't even acknowledged me. The next salon only did powered dip, that doesn't work well for nails, Finally i walked into Glamour nails at 9:30 when they just opened up, the owner acknowledged me right away, i told him what i wanted and he told me 5-10mins other staff will be in. This nail Technician by the name of TiTi did her thing for me, The one thing i loved about her and this establishment was that I had the same tech for my feet and nails, i was her number one priority regardless who came in or how busy they were getting, she didn't send me to a different technician for them to finsh what she started, She was my one stop shop! She made my vision of what i wanted come to light, i will be coming back from jersey to D.C. once a month to see my girl TiTi and get my fill and my pedicure done! So if your looking for a Bombass nail salon and nail technician Go to Glamour nail salon and ask for TiTi, you won't be disappointed, tell her that the girl from Jersey sent ya! read more

Be prepared to wait. They don't have reservations so it's all walk ins and the day I was there, they were very much over capacity but still offered to see me. That's nice but honestly ended up being a headache because she kept leaving in the middle to help other customers so it took a lot longer than I expected (and I could have gone elsewhere had they been upfront about capacity). They do a decent job. They try! But I asked for a pretty basic nail art design and honestly i could have done it myself. Still. My nails were gnarly AF so they at least did the basics well and my nails looked cleaner. read more

Amazing service with quality manicures and pedicures. I get sns/dip every few weeks and I have been for 4 years now. I received a gel manicure and pedicure from this establishment exactly one week ago. It was not very crowded and I was able to receive immediate service. My main reason for going there was the reasonable prices. Where else can you get a gel manicure for $25? Well the old saying "you get what you pay for" applies here. Two of my nails are already chipping! I have never had chipping occur within that short of a timespan. Then again, I usually pay $55-60 for a gel manicure and pedicure. Customer service also left a lot to be desired. Before sitting down for my pedicure, I asked to use the restroom. The lady pointed in the direction of the restroom but when I tried to open the door, it was locked. I just assumed someone was using it and proceeded to pick out my nail color. As soon as I walked away from the restroom, another woman came out from the back (she saw me attempt to open the door) and used a key to unlock the door. It was unclear to me why the door was locked. Things that make you go hmmmm. It was also hot as heck in there. When I walked in, the front door was wide open. Keep in mind it was about 95 degrees outside. Shortly after getting settled, one of the technicians shut the door and allowed the portable a/c unit to cool the room (which wasn't very big). I won't be going back to this place and will gladly pay a little more for a gel manicure that will last at least 2 weeks! read more

Well... I live 3 blocks from glamour nails but I'd never been because the reviews didn't look promising. I talked to someone who told me to go and get my nails done with Dolce (short Latina woman). Dolce is amazing! She takes her time and she does an amazing job. I had a regular pedi and a gel full set mani with a design on each nail and I was only charged 65$. That's incredible! Now with that bein said... the shop is no frills. There's probably 1 or 2 dudes that come in selling essential oils and detergent maybe some Shea butter but if you can get over that and cpl people asking for coins on the way in then you must go to glamour nails. If I could give less than 1 I would. Im 22 years old and this was the WORST nail shop I've ever been to. LEN did a horrible job on my pedicure but since I was in a time crunch I was going to let her do my nails. DO NOT GO HERE!!! I came one day because it was cheap, and I love little spots like this. But the service was terrible. I had the woman with the shoulder length hair, and she did an awful job. I wanted almond shaped nails. I should have known to leave when she didn't know what that was. She did such a sloppy job at each step, but I went along with it thinking she was going to shape everything up at the end. She didn't, even after I told her these nails looked terrible. I was so upset. I went to another nail salon at 9th & L, and told them what happened. They said I wasn't the first person to come their to have my nails fixed after leaving Glamour nails. That's probably why they have you pay before you finish. I would never have paid them for that awful job. read more

I didn't check this place out for awhile despite it being five blocks from my house, mostly because of its less than desirable location on North Capitol. I'm so glad I finally did though, they are fantastic. A manicure and pedicure are 25 dollars and eyebrow shaping is 6! Seriously, that's the deal of the year. Every time I've had quality work done. The facility is no frills, but it's always clean and the owners and staff are ridiculously friendly. My only gripe is that they have a very small selection of OPI colors, but with ten dollar manicures, I guess that's a small price to pay. Support this local business in an area that desperately needs development. They're doing a wonderful job. read more

One thing I always look for at nail salons is wonderful customer service--this place had awful customer service! The lady who did my nails cut my toe cuticle too much and it started to bleed! I proceeded to tell her and she got upset (why, I don't know). She then moved on to "massage" my feet with a stiff brush that hurt me rather than feeling nice. Too make it all worse, she was using a dirty towel on me that had stains on it already. After the pedicure, she moved on to do my manicure and didn't even put cuticle remover when she took off my cuticles. She insisted to give me a gel manicure even after I repeated myself three times and said that I didn't! The manicure and pedicure job was a 7/10 and I won't be going back because of the customer service!!!! read more

Very very dirty. Nothing looked clean. Against my better judgement I stayed and got a gel mani and a pedi and I was cringing the entire time. My toes and nails came out ok. The lady seemed to rush through the manicure, which resulted in bubbles in the nail polish on several of my nails. The tools for the pedicure looked dirty. They don't use a fresh sterilized pack of tools for each customer. The people who nice enough, but I won't go back. The dirtiness of the place kept me from relaxing and enjoying my experience. read more
