Tina has a brilliant and unique way she does nails. She uses clear powder dip and then she paints them with gel polish to create the look I desire and also keeping my nails healthy and strong. I started with Tina 2 months ago when I was visiting from out of town. Tina's customer service and expertise of nails is amazing. I drive from Charlottesville, VA every three weeks just to get my nails done. That speaks volumes as to how I impressed I am by Tina. I was hesitant to do this review... If I could give this place less than one star, I would. I called to make an appointment. I was told they didn't need to make an appointment. Please come in. There are plenty of people available that statement was completely false. I went there waited 40 minutes to have the worst pedicure by far, even worse from four years ago when I tried this place. I asked for a spa pedicure. I didn't get that. There was no foot massage no leg massage. There was no hot wax. There was no callus remover. There was nothing to indicate that it was spa of any kind.. but she did manage to draw blood when she cut my toe- a second individual came over to assist the first individual for a host of reasons and that still didn't make anything any better, I wanted to leave. I said I wanted to leave three different times and I should've left the first time they kept saying that they would make it right they didn't make it right and then charge me $60 and I'm not even sure for what? I have a wedding this weekend so I went back to get them done again because she did a good job last time... well Bebe talked me out of doing what I wanted to do, which was a dip powder set. She pushed me into doing a full acrylic set which makes my hands hurt. I knew I should've pushed harder but the constant talk about it was really frustrating. On top of that she made my nail crooked. She said my nail is too wide and she was trying to file my actual nail...I don't know? Then she said that I need to ask for wide nails? I don't want flare. I want natural straight nails! Well then when I said something she mumbled under her breath 'I'm tired, I don't wanna do it again' she thought I couldn't hear her which is very unprofessional. Then offered me $5 off for her not to redo it. My nails are already chipping. Waste of money! I took a chance on trying to get a manicure by walking in. Figured a Monday around mid-day wouldn't be too bad. Wrong. I walked in where I was just stared out by the employees. I was told to wash my hands after they eventually asked me why I was there. After that, I just stood there awkwardly as more people came in, were friendly greeted, and seated (had an appointment). After a minute of just standing since there is no waiting area, they told me to have a seat at an empty station and that's when I realized I was going to have to wait 20 mins+. The owner is greedy and consistently chooses to tell clients (walk-in and appointments) that they can take you or that they "are few minutes behind". They will turn the water on or start to put the acetone into soak off gel and then make you sit there for 30-60 minutes before anyone is avail to help you. I find it infuriating and today was the last day I give them my business. They have done this to me several times now. Be honest with your clients and show some respect for their time. If you had just told me that the wait was an hour I could have run my errand at Target and come back. The funny thing is they even told me they don't like to do that because they are afraid people won't come back and then they lose that money for the day so instead they let them soak so it is hard to leave. Really? So instead you lie and waste your client's time thus frustrating them all because you don't want to lose $45? Well, today they lost a customer for good over it. By the way, after waiting with my fingers wrapped in acetone for 65 minutes there was no real apology OR discount. Pathetic service! I still tipped obviously because it isn't the tech's fault but never again will I give them anymore of my money since they clearly don't value their customers. Do not come here! Walked in for a basic manicure. No wait, which was nice, but they just couldn't get over the fact that I didn't want a Gel manicure. Don't get me wrong, it's nice not having to worry about dry time, but it kills my nails and gets annoying not being able to change my color at will. I was asked and confirmed at least 4 times that I didn't want Gel polish. Manicure is a very fair price at $14 for a basic manicure and that's exactly what it was- basic. She was quick and to the point, and while she dipped me in paraffin, I don't necessarily understand why she coated me in lotion before doing so. It kind of defeats the purpose in my opinion, but but maybe I'm wrong?? The polish was quick and looks alright, but overall, I'm not completely impressed. It just wasn't a great experience. Made an appointment over the phone, but when I showed up I was told that they only did walk-ins, causing me to wait behind everyone else. Nonetheless, I waited. Once it was my turn, I felt forced to change to gel after being asked 4 different times! No means no. After refusing, I felt that the nail tech had an attitude with me. And then used acrylic powder after I mentioned it burns my skin in the beginning. I mean she would have known this if she wasn't on her phone talking. Was manager was out of town. I was treated to a very rough polish removal, rude, unprofessional woman who left bits of the polish on each fingernail. GROSS GROSS GROSS! This is use to be one of my favorite spots to get a pedicure. Sometimes they will even paint little flowers on your toes. :) However lately it seems that the quality has gone down here, but I decided to give it another try for a pedicure last weekend. First off I am going to talk about how sloppy of a job the guy did. He rushed through everything....barely scrubbed the bottom of feet. He seemed to pay more attention to the Redskins than to my feet. He rushed through...wasn't looking at my feet most of the time...but the TV screen. I also could not tell any difference between a "spa" pedicure verses a regular pedicure other than the fact they charge you ten more dollars for it. When it was time to paint my nails he went over to where the nail drying station was a picked up a pair of USED cheap salon flip flop things and tried to put them on my feet. Someone had obviously worn them before because a. They were dirty on the bottom... 2. he didn't take them out of a package. Did they like run out? Seriously how much could those little foamsy flip flop thingies be? GROSS GROSS GROSS! I will never go back! I am seriously ready to throw up now thinking about it. read more

I came in to get a full set acrylic nails done. They put the wrong size nail on some of my fingers, i also asked for coffin shape & they are so crooked, the chrome they gave is not even chrome its mainly white sparkles, didnt do any more layers than one and you can almost see my natural nail through it. Great nail salon. The basic pedicure comes with paraffin wax and a great leg massage lasting about 15 minutes. Very relaxing and the staff is very welcoming. I have converted 2 of my friends into being loyal customers. On my last visit, I was with a friend that is 8 months pregnant and they really catered to her. Horrible costumer service. Terrible quality of work. It was my first time getting the gel mani, so I asked for how long should I expect it to last, she said 2 weeks. I came in at day 10 because it was all gone, it just chipped away. I spoke to the lady who did it, and she denied telling me two weeks. She now said they guarantee it for 10 days only. Well, turns out I had it done 10 days ago. After a lot of explaining and pretty much being called a liar (I said it was a Sunday, she insisted she did not worked on Sundays) I got her to pull out the sign-in sheet for that Sunday and see for her self, that my name is there next to hers. Finally she agreed to give me a gift certificate... I said I dont want a gift certificate, I dont want to come back here, I want my money back. She said she needed to call her boss for that. After a long time attempting to make the phone call, she said she couldnt get in touch with him and offered to do my nails again right there at the moment. Again I said, no, I dont want to nor I have the time at the moment, I want my money back. She walked around the place, talking to her coworkers in a language I dont understand, and "trying" to call her boss. I have had enough so I gave in and agreed to take the certificate. Now she argued that she also needed her boss authorization to give me the certificate. Very frustrating situation. I did not get my money back, or the certificate... she just advised me to call later and talk to her boss. (good luck to me with that one). read more

Everyone else seems to have raving reviews about this place so I have no idea why I keep getting horrible service! I've been here twice within the last three weeks and each time I've wished I went elsewhere. So let's start with the first time. I went in for a full acrylic set. Basic. Easy. Nothing too complicated. They were very busy but able to take me immediately which was nice. I picked out my color and sat down and noticed the woman immediately started gluing the nails on. Now I'm in the beauty Industry and have also been getting my nails done for over 10 years so it is basic knowledge that your nails always get drilled before they glue the artificial nail on so the nail and glue have something to hold on. I didn't say anything at the time because for all I know she could've been using a new technique. So she continues the service, finishes me up in 45 minutes and I get home and realize they look horrible. The polish itself is all over my cuticles and the sides of my hand but I just let it go because I was just thankful to have nails back again. Let's flash forward to two days later, THREE nails have broken off. Litterally three freaking nails have fully snapped off. And by snapped off I mean the entire nail was gone. Anyone who gets acrylics knows taking acrylic nails off is very hard so the fact that three nails were gone as if they were glue ons from Walmart really pissed me off. I just spent $30 on crap. Never in 10 years have I had nails break so soon and note, I was on bedrest so it wasn't like I was actively doing anything that could cause them to break. So I ended up taking the other seven off with zero effort and my nails under had none of the regular acrylic damage to them which showed clearly they were not done right. So a week later I decided to give them another change and get another full set. I went to a different lady and immediately she started trying to up sell me. I said three times I want basic acrylic and not gel. She ignored me and proceeded to bring gel colors over trying to get me to get them. She actually drilled my nails that time thankfully. So I was asked the length and was told it would be a $10 up charge for the length I wanted which was BS because they 1) weren't even long at all & 2) were shorter than I had gotten the week before and I wasn't up charged then! I told her never mind and to keep them short so now it barely looks like I have had acrylics put on. As I was sitting under the dryer I realized a couple of the nails are too small for the nail they're on so you can see the edges and sides of my natural nail on about four of the nails. I'm so pissed off I wasted that much money there over a three week period. I will never be back and I will make sure my clients are aware that this salon is a waste of money and will not be referring any of my clients there. read more
