I have been using this business for over 30 years. They are great, especially Becky. She does an exceptional job cutting my hair.

I hate having to leave a negative review because everyone I interacted with was kind, accommodating, and genuinely seemed to want to help. Unfortunately, my experience ended with my hair being severely damaged. I booked a consultation before my appointment because the health of my hair was my number one priority. I explained that I had spent years growing out healthy hair and specifically expressed my concerns about using bleach. At my initial appointment, none of the color took. I walked out looking exactly the same as when I came in. I was told it could be corrected in a week or two. The next day, I called because I had an important event coming up and couldn't wait. The salon was very understanding and brought me in after closing the following day, which I truly appreciated. During the correction, I was told my hair would need to be bleached but that it would remain healthy because the bleach being used was very gentle. Instead of the all-over color I originally requested, I received a balayage. While it wasn't what I had asked for, I was happy enough with the overall appearance at first because it looked much better than before. However, once I styled my hair myself, I realized the balayage was very patchy in places, with harsh, abrupt transitions from light to dark. After my first wash at home using professional salon products, I immediately noticed something was wrong. My hair felt extremely dry, tangled, and almost gummy. I had to use three times the amount of conditioner just to get a comb through it. My mid-lengths and ends became incredibly frizzy, and no amount of heat styling or product could smooth them out. I tried to live with it for weeks, hoping it would improve. It never did. I travel to Florida multiple times a year, so I'm no stranger to humidity, but during my most recent trip my hair became completely unmanageable. Within minutes of styling it, it would turn into a frizzy, tangled mess. It was honestly embarrassing and left me feeling incredibly self-conscious. When I returned home, I went to another stylist for a second opinion. I was told my hair had sustained severe damage. I now have orange and brown hair that I can't afford to correct, and my options are either spending thousands of dollars on extensions or cutting off years of growth. This was my first salon visit in over two years, and I trusted that my hair would be cared for. Instead, I left with hair that I no longer recognize. As a woman, it's heartbreaking. I truly wish I had never stepped into the salon because I would do anything to have my healthy hair back. I don't write reviews like this lightly, but I hope my experience encourages better communication, realistic expectations, and above all, greater care for the long-term health of clients' hair. read more

Rudest staff around !! I have waited 3 days to post this to let some of the emotion settle . If this saves one person from the hands of Jake and the RUDE staff at PR Partners in Bristow , I have done my job. Moved back from Florida after 11 years and stopped in to make an appointment. Everyone was busy .. they took my number and said they would get back ! 2 weeks later stopped in again .. lovely front desk girl said she would get someone to get back to me . No big deal . Some more time went by and I called , I was not short or rude to anyone , understating things happen . The lady found my note behind another note . I asked her about 2 stylists that had openings Friday Nov 21st . I asked about Madi .. I was told she was too new . I inquired about Jake who had an opening . She stated he had been doing hair for a long time . I arrived at 1:15 for my 1:30 appointment. Very cold greeting . At 1:30 I hear a guy holler across the salon ... who is on the couch ?? Wow . I was asked to be early since I was a new client . About 1:40 Jake brought me to his chair . The consult ....i should have run !! I had my formula which he didn't understand . He immediately stated it would not look the same . I should have run . I had the color line plus a way to formulate it to other color lines bit he mixed anyway .I have had the same hairdresser for 11 years so my color was gorgeous and hair was to my bra strap . He consulted a couple other ladies and they came up with whatever formula they decided on . He came out with one bowl of bleach ... my stylist always uses 2 bowls so again I should have run . I inquired about price .. he advertises $160 for partial foil so with cut I was planning on $225-$250 ...I was paying $200 for my services in Florida by the salon owner . I let him know $300 was out of my range ... he stated with the toner and gloss that's what it was .I have NEVER had a toner on my hair or a gloss and quite frankly a toner is nothing more than a way for lazy hairdressers with bad foil placement to cover up their shotty work ....to say we needed a toner before we started is scary ! I lift beautifully and never need a toner before! $230 is what he decided on and wow did I get discounted hair . The foil placement was nuts and the toner left me with dirty dishwater hair ! If he would have consulted he would have been informed my hair pulls ash ! The cut !! With arrogance he stated how much i was going to love the cut ... I asked for a couple inches he took 6 ... it is the worst cut ever ! He had no idea how to cut curly hair . I literally sat in my car and cried for ten minutes ! This is the rudest salon I have ever been into ! Not a hello from any other staff member. Not an offering of water .. I even had a huge hoddie sweatshirt that he was going smock me in before I had to ASK for a cape ! I felt like I had done something wrong , I felt borderline bullied by the staff and worse by Jake . I really didn't want to post this but after coming into work missing 6 inches and hair that looks like dirty dishwater and my co workers asking what happened left me no choice. I immediately know Jake is going to say I got what I payed for since I could only do $225-$250 but I wish he would have dismissed me anyway ! With Jake yelling across the salon , his nasty disposition, lack of listening, unprofessionalism and skill set I am sure Hair Cuttery or Sports Clips would be better suited for him!! What a waste of $$ and the corrective will cost twice as much !! RUN FROM JAKE !! read more

She has been my stylist for many years and I always walk out of the salon feeling even more fabulous than I did walking in ;) 99% of the time I'll just sit in the chair and let her do her thing (she is the professional after all). The salon is so beautiful and all of their employees are so friendly from the front desk staff to the shampoo assistants. First time customer. Came in with an old dark brunette to blonde ombré. Hadn't gotten a trim in months. Went to Leah for a cut and toner. I picked out a nice, subtle golden-auburn toner. She suggests a burgundy that would show up on my blonde ombré as a true red. I specifically say that I don't like that at all. I don't want a true crayon red and I don't like the violety bluey tones to it. She does my color and as she's blow-drying it to show me, I immediately point out as friendly as possible that I don't like it at all. It's the color I specifically said I didn't want. My hair was burgundy over the brunette and bright red over my old blonde. I looked like an angsty teenager at a My Chemical Romance concert. She either completely ignored me or accidentally mixed the wrong color, but wouldn't own up to it. She tells me not to worry - we can fix it for you in a couple days at no charge to you. I come in the next day to get it fixed. She puts another toner over it to cancel out some of the red. It ends up a cherry cola, super violety. I hate it. But I'm nice about it and am understanding in that we can't undo what she already did, we just have to fix it. She puts more toner on it and it ends up a just slightly less violet cherry brunette. It is insanely dark. Just what every girl wants for spring. I tell her how unhappy I am. She says I can come in again once it's faded a bit and she'll paint on lighter pieces and tone it again. Next morning I call to explain what happened to a manager and ask that my next appointment is with a more senior colorist, as this junior stylist clearly didn't have the experience to fix this, based on her attempt the previous night. I am told that I WILL HAVE TO PAY for any further color correction. Kathy, the "customer service" rep that manages 15 locations, calls to explain that they cannot provide me further services and to find another salon because I am "rude and unable to be satisfied" and that they "have done everything possible to try to fix this". I am flabbergasted. How did this become my fault? This junior stylist ruined my color. Someone there needs to take responsibility and fix this for free. She dismisses me saying she has more important meetings to tend to. Extremely poor customer service. I go to the salon on my lunch break to discuss what had happened with Stacy, the front desk manager I spoke with originally. She basically says that they're more concerned with money than tending to their customers when they make mistakes. And because Leah had attempted to retone it once - that was all they could do without me paying for the additonal services that would be needed to get it to the color I asked for in the first place. Okay, I want to start by saying that the only reason I'm writing this review is to hopefully get the attention of someone who works at this salon. Two weeks ago, I stopped in the salon on a Weds afternoon (3 ish) and waited for the receptionist to get off the phone and talk to me. I was looking for a new nail salon and wanted to see a price list. The receptionist, talking to a salon employee, never got off the phone. She also never recognized that I was waiting and so after about 5 full minutes I left. Today I called them trying to find a stylist to straighten my hair, and noone answered the phone. It just rang and rang. Guys, I am not a picky client. I spend all my surplus cash on spa stuff. Im easy to please and a girl thing junkie, but if you want new clients you have to talk to me. I really loved my stylist, Nikki A. She was terrific. She absolutely listens to you, makes suggestions and is kind as can be. If you want a great hair cut. Go see her. But....... the place is filthy. The walls are marked up and the seats torn. When you arrive for the first appointment of the day and there is enough hair on the floor and on and around the stations to cover two collies, well that's ridiculous. The staff are all very nice and the shampoo girls will give you the best shampoo ever but ........ To pay top dollar for a haircut in this area, it needs to cover ambiance as well. I just have worked in salons and have gone to many in the area and this one is by far the most expensive and the dirtiest. I'm sorry, but cleanliness counts. read more

Had a haircut today with Katherine. I scheduled at the last moment, so I didn't request a stylist or level of stylist. Katherine was so incredibly sweet and I could tell she's a genuinely good person. She's also excellent at her job! I always want a very basic trim and some simple long layers- nothing fancy or complicated. She spent such a great amount of time dividing and cutting my hair, and she spent a lot of time blow drying it the way I like it. At the end, she suggested I take some bobby pins to help "train" my bangs to cooperate. I really appreciate all the extra effort she went to for me. She gets 5 stars for a super awesome job! The salon itself is somewhat stuffy, crowded, and not the cleanest. I saw a brunette walk out of there with a lock of golden blonde hair stuck to her butt! I think the relaxing salon experience should come without loud rap music and a little more space so that your stylist isn't constantly bumping into other working stylists. Fanny made me feel very comfortable & chatted with me through the whole thing. She is so friendly & chatting with her actually keeps your mind off from the waxing. I was in & out in less than 30 mins for a brazillian! I love that! She is not available on Sundays but I would really recommend Fanny for your waxing needs here. Brenda at PR Partners in Bristow is my stylist! She has been my stylist for over 20 years and she is fantastic! I have had long, medium and short hair - all beautiful thanks to Brenda. I always get compliments when she does my hair. There are some secrets only your hairdresser is supposed to know - and thanks to Brenda's talent when it comes to hair color it shall stay a secret! I love the PR Partners, as a nurse cleanliness is very important tome. The salon is always neat and clean. I feel like they take special CARE of their equipment and supplies and that protects me and you too! Brenda is not just a stylist she is my friend..she knows when I feel like chatting and when I just want to flip thru magazines. I always come out of there feeling pretty and relaxed. I have used the spa for manicure a few times to and they are excellent as well. Recently, Brenda cut my hair from long to short and I just love it. My friends tell me how good it looks! I had a few people at church that I do not know well tell me this weekend "nice hair do Jan." I give them my highest reccomendation and I continue to be a loyal satisfied customer! Called in hopes of getting a same-day appointment. They were able to fit me in with Carly 15 minutes later! It was my first time at this salon and they had me fill out a quick questionnaire sheet to know more about my personal hair care, needs and wants. Right away Carly took me back to talk about the look I wanted and she knocked it out of the park! Super friendly service and skilled stylist. I only got a wash and cut so I can't speak for other services, but I was beyond satisfied with my new hair cut! Highly recommend and will definitely return when it's time for my next cut! I went this weekend to get my 2 little girls haircuts 8 and 3 Year's old. One was a bang trim and the other a cut. When I went to pay it was not the usual $40 but $80. I called later to find out why it was so expensive. The lady on the phone said that each stylist makes there prices. Then hung up. read more

Once moving to the area, I asked for hair salon recommendations from a few people. I had a few people mention PR at Partners, so I went in for a consult. I spoke to the front desk, and asked for someone who was good with short cuts, and had experience with dry cuts. Two people both decided that Mary L was who I wanted to see, and made a consult appointment with her for a few days from then. I went in on a week day afternoon and the salon was packed. It was super loud and busy, which is a good thing for them, but definitely doesn't make for a relaxing experience. I filled out a flyer on how I like my hair cuts and met with Mary personally. We went over how I like my hair. Here's the thing- I have short hair, very short in the back cut with clippers and tapered up the back and short around the ears. The front of my hair is longer, and bangs sweep front over my forehead. There are a few spikes up top- nothing like a mohawk - but just some spiking on the crown of my head. I walked in with my hair three weeks post cut, in the style that I wanted. I needed a clean up- I told her I liked a little funk, but not much of a change. I've had my hair about the same give or take a a few inches for the past 14 years or so. She said she had experience in dry cuts and that she would love to cut my hair. We decided to let it grow for a few more days and that I'd come back Monday morning for a cut. I came in on Monday bright and early, with my hair styled, completely dry, just ready for the cut. Thank goodness, Mondays are dead at the salon, and it was much more quiet and relaxing when I returned. Mary immediately got to work, with the clippers, she cut my hair the exact number that I wanted and the back was great. Unfortunately, she went way too short up the sides of my hair, completely disconnecting part of my cut, that used to be connected over my ear. It was almost sort of a mohawk. The sides were cut way too short, and unfortunately, the top was kept too long for my taste. Since I require a haircut once a month, I could deal with it for a bit. And, thankfully, having had this hair for a long time, I'm very good at styling it, and was able to cover up my issue fairly well for the few weeks I needed to, before I needed to go back in for a clean up cut. Also, I was told that Mary charges $50 for a cut. I paid that, but in all honesty, for a DRY cut- which involves no washing and honestly minimal to NO styling, $50 is just ridiculous. I did pay it, though, hoping that after the next visit, she'd work out the issues. Plus, I figured I was paying DC metro area prices. I made my next appointment almost 4 weeks later, with Mary again, hoping she'd be better on the second chance. I didn't want to stylist hop, since I hate finding a new one when we move! So, I went in, again on a Monday morning. I was VERY specific about what I liked and disliked from the previous cut. I explained to her that although I can style it to look alright, she took way too much off of the front side (and pointed it out to her) and explained what was happening because of it. I also told her that more needed to be taken off the top, because of growth. Again, this is only 4 weeks after the first cut, and I go in with my hair styled exactly like it should look when I leave (only shorter!). She listened to what I said and said we'd get it all worked out. Before I know it, she's got the clippers out and is cutting EXACTLY the same way she did the first time, and in the EXACT spot I had told her not to cut that short with the clippers again. I just closed my eyes and sighed. So, since you can't put hair back on when it's shaved, there wasn't anything I could do right then and there.... I stayed silent. Until she starts cutting the top and can't figure out why one certain piece of hair is sticking up. I told her it's because she cut the piece that is making it stick up, exactly what I told her not to do in the first place. Then she understood...and was like "oh...now I see..." okay. And that would be why I specifically asked you to let that reconnect to the bangs and let it grow. Atleast it's hair and it grows quickly. I almost was going to give her a third chance until 2 days later, I realized that she did a horrible job up on the top of my crown and I needed to go in for her to cut that shorter. So, she cut it for me- and I thanked her. and I left... and that's that. I'm done with PR at Partners. $50+ tip for a dry cut that isn't even good is ridiculous. read more

I haven been going to this salon for about 2 years and I will never go anywhere else. My hair stylist, Katie Fritter, is amazing! She is not just any ordinary hair stylist. Once she cuts your hair, you will never let anyone else touch it. She is that good. Whenever she cuts/colors my hair, I get so many compliments. She also does makeup. I've only had her do my makeup once but I loved the natural look she gave me. At this salon, they have their own brand of makeup called, Pretty. I love the tinted moisturizer. If you go to their website you won't find Katie on there, but trust me. If you call to make an appointment, schedule it with Katie! In the spa section of the salon I love that they offer sugaring, which is a good substitute for waxing if you have sensitive skin. I've never seen this offered at any other salon. They also offer many facial treatments. They use the GM Collin skincare line which is made in Canada. Very good stuff! I love the sensitive skin face moisturizer. Not for boys haircut. Bad job on a 'regular' boys haircut (short on sides, a little longer on the top). Stylist did not seem proficient at doing that type of cut: hair length and sideburns were uneven and the 'curve line' around the ears was pretty bad and not even 'smooth' or 'curved' Money was refunded promptly after getting home, inspecting the haircut closer and driving back to talk to stylist. Stylist did not talk to us but agreed to a refund right away. read more

Just moved to Manassas a few months ago and I needed my bangs cut. So I did a lot of research of the surrounding hair salons and found that this PR at Partners Salon & Spa had pretty good reviews for the most part. When I called to make an appointment I told them I just wanted my bangs cut no length taken off of the back of my hair. She made me an appointment for the next day. When I got there the receptionist asked me to fill out a form since I was a new customer. The next thing I know some lady comes over to me (calling me by the wrong name) saying I don't need to fill out the form because "I'm not getting a real hair cut." I had a picture printed out of the EXACT way I wanted my hair to look. She told me that if she were to blend my bangs into the front of my hair (not even touch the back of my head) the cost would go from $5.00 to $55.00. I personally found this to be ridiculous for a bangs cut no length taken off, no color, nothing. SO to top it off, my bangs turned out looking nothing like my picture and she was extremely rude and judgmental sounding during our brief conversation. When I was walking out the door she says "Call back when you want a real hair cut." RUDE! I will not be going back to the Bristow Pr at Partners Salon. I hope this helps :) read more

I got to experience un-professionalism from an associate that works at Pr at Partners in Gainesville. Due to Doris un-professionalism and disrespectful attitude towards her other co-workers customers, ruined the chance for her colleges to maintain their returning customers. I do pledge that I will never step of foot and also never refer anyone to go to PR Partners in Gainesville. It is a shame that Doris is lacking the professionalism in her communication skill towards PR and Partners customers, jeopardizing the full potential that PR and Partners Salon and Spa in Gainesville can reach. read more

Erica Williams has been doing my hair for about seven years now. I refuse to go anywhere else. I even lived in Texas for a year & a half & would wait to make appointments when I came back to the area to visit. She is seriously amazing. She does exactly what you want & teaches you how to style it like she does so it will look the same as it did the day of. She is amazing w color. Most of the time I just sit down & let her do her magic. I have had NO COMPLAINTS in all those years. I recommend her to everyone I know. This review is for Christina Moore who is the stylist I see when I go here. Christina has done everything for me from color correction, root melt, balayage, hand painting, foils, toners, treatment masks, and even gave me a trendy rose gold ombre once when i wanted a fun change for summer. She does great cuts and is an amazing colorist. She really understands color, and I have had various shades and color techniques of blonde and always leave with beautiful blended highlights and lowlights that are never brassy or orange looking (which I use to get before coming to Christina). Highly recommend her for any look you are going for, she is amazing. I will never go anywhere else! read more

The bristow salon is very dirty (floors and sink area is disgusting) and the receptionist is down right RUDE!! The gainesville salon is cleaner but both times that I have been there it took 15-20 minutes just to pay and leave as it always looks like mass confusion at the front desk...worse is they dont acknowledge you to let you know that they will be "right with you"!! Also the shampoo girl smelled like cigarette smoke and I held my breath throughtout the shampoo...not very relaxing!! read more

Where do I start? I went in for a consultation with a stylist in order to show her what cut and color I wanted...it was a total waste of my time. The day of my appointment, I again showed her the cut and color I was desiring, and ended up with something completely opposite of what I asked for. What was the point of the consultation if I didn't even get the cut and color I asked for. I came out looking like Dora the Explorer...a very boxy cut about 2 inches shorter than what I asked for, and not to mention, a forehead/scalp full of hair dye that I couldn't get off my skin for several days. I had to go back into the salon to have them remove the dye that was left on my forehead and ears. I had to wear a hat for two days to cover the mess. I ended up driving to my favorite hair salon in Shirlington to have my color and cut, corrected AFTER I was told they didn't have hair dye strong enough to correct what had been done, and to give me the color I was desiring. They were also unsure about fixing the botched cut they did just a few days prior. Did I mention the hair stylist said she didn't know how to give me loose curls using a flat iron? Anywho...I got my money back and took it to a REAL salon where I had to pay even more to correct PR's hack job. I won't be recommending this place to anyone. Ever! read more

So disappointed! I made an appointment two weeks in advance to get an all-over, single tone, permanent color. I was going from my self done honey blonde, back to my natural color which is a dark ash brown. Seemed pretty simple over the phone when i made the appointment. I go in and the lady at the front desk is very sweet and i filled out a personal information sheet about my hair and what i do to take care of it. EVERything seemed to be going well until the color was washed out of my hair. What was supposed to be an even application of a brown color, turned the back of my hair perfect, but the hair framing my face and my roots are PITCH BLACK. I only noticed when i got home and have looked at my hair in every angle and type of lighting. I wish i had a before picture, but i will definitely be posting an after of my two-toned hair. The point of this for me personally was to go back to my natural color and never have to think about coloring again, but now it looks like the only option of fixing is to grow a new head of hair, or reach for the bleach. read more

I went to this salon for a wedding consult hair style. The hairdresser was unwilling to try what I wanted to do. She suggested that I change my hair accessory because she did not know how to use the one I wanted. She gave me 20 minutes for the entire appointment and then said she was too busy. I am not happy and do not recommend this salon for anything. I paid $50 for a wash and a blow dry. I still had shampoo in my hair and my hair looked horrible. But I guess that's what you get for a 20 minute session. read more

PR at Partners is nice, but not fabulous. It was very crowded at 11am on a Tuesday, which seemed odd. I think the layout is all wrong - the chairs are very close to the well which the stylists use as a hallway, so I had stylists and clients squeezing behind my chair while I was being worked on, which was uncomfortable. I have seen Jake multiple times for highlights and a cut and I could not be happier. Every time I leave I am just amazed with the great color that he achieves! Never had been here, so I just took whoever they scheduled me with who happened to be Kristy & I couldn't have been happier. This was my third try in a series of bad haircuts in going from very long hair to pretty short. My problem with the previous hairstylists is that they just didn't listen to what I said. From the moment that I was taken from the waiting area after about a 3 minute wait Kristy couldn't have been more pleasant. Before washing my hair we sat down & discussed what I wanted and she even brought up hair style photos on her ipad to be sure we were on the same page. During the whole process she was constantly explaining what she was doing & checking to make sure I was still happy. She gave me a nice scalp massage & blow dryed my hair beautifully. The real test was washing & letting it air-dry as I never blow dry my hair & i was curious to see if the cut was going to hold up without fancy styling, well I am thrilled! My hair hangs perfectly with doing basically nothing to it. I will be going back to see Kristy when it's time for a trim & I recommend you do so also. read more
