We've been here a couple of times over the years. We decided to stop by for breakfast today after a nice early morning beach walk. At 7:30am on a Sunday, there was already a long line of people! We ordered: French toast - 2 thick loaves of bread served with berries, butter, and syrup. Generous portion, fluffy and delicious. It's perfect for sharing next time instead of an individual portion. Vegan huevos rancheros burrito - good portion, flavorful, and very filling! A bit heavy for breakfast but delicious nonetheless! Breakfast potatoes - good portion but nothing special. Hojicha tea latte - light roasted tea flavor and love that it comes with oat milk. French press coffee - dark roast was very flavorful and the small portion is perfect for two people. A couple of cons: all of the seats were wet and tables were dirty, this was right after they opened too! Not all heat lamps working. Our drinks took so long that they showed up halfway through our food. Our drinks were also lukewarm as well. They really need more staff working the drink station. Overall, food was good but pricey. Ambience could be improved. Service needs to be improved with more staff to keep the place clean and tidy, get the drinks out faster, and turnover tables. Great gluten free bread. I can always get my grilled cheese on here and have dessert, this time pumpkin pie, even though I am gluten free. They always have tons of gluten free options which I appreciate. I love sitting outside next to the heat lamps. Their chairs are cute, but the metal is a bit too hard to sit on for long periods of time. Friendly service. I can never decide what to drink, always so many options. This time I got a lemonade. For past four years I go once a week either to Urth at Laguna Beach or Urth at Old Town Orange, but mostly Laguna. The quality of food and the selections are not questioned at all but my low review rating is due to their poor service. Although they know I show up on a specific day and time, asking for the exact same items, they almost always make a mistake. Those who have tried their egg Benedict know the two main ingredients, egg and potato. I've been served with egg Benedict with no eggs. I've been served egg Benedict with no potato. Their reasoning on no potato is usually too early in the morning and potato not being ready. I have made it clear I do not mind waiting. Along with the egg Benedict I always ask for their tea pots. And I always ask for honey. 80% of the time they forget the honey. 50% of the time they have the jars outside so I could grab them. They often forget silverware. Specially tea spoon. And the biggest complaint I have is the order in which they serve the meal. Every single time, I request for the tea to be served either before or with the meal, but not after. And almost every time tea js served after. Sometimes so late my meal is finished. I have asked different managers how to fix this so I get the tea first, one time they asked me to let the cashier know to request. Which doesn't work. One time they used an excuse: so others don't complain why theirs are not getting served first. And most of the time they say they have no control over which item gets out first. I even offered them making two separate orders like 5 min apart. Lastly, for a birthday we ordered a cake in advance. And we paid. At the pickup time they first stated we never made an order. After proofing the order, there were no such cake. Sure, we took another cake and they offered back the balance and gave us a free lunch but please fix your service and management! read more

Food was great but the service was horrible. My group ordered pastry and lattes, when the food came out, everyone had their drinks and food except for mine. The guy server told me that mine was going to come out shortly but after waiting for 15 min, we asked about my drink to the other servers & they dismissed me, telling me that my drink was already there. I insisted that I didn't get my drink and when the server brought mine, he gave it to me with an attitude and the mug cup had a chip on it. I was so disappointed with the service. read more

I asked a waitress to check on the drink and she never came back. Terrible feeling knowing I paid for a product that was never delivered, brought up the issue, and it still wasn't addressed. It really depends on what you get and how the staff is feeling that day. Ive had 2 star food experiences here and I've had 4 star food experiences here. Ordering at the register is always painful, it seems that no one is trained to use their POS. I'm not sure, maybe it's just slow. Chicken pesto sandwich or whatever they call it now is okay. The chicken used to always be incredibly dry but I haven't had that problem the last couple times I've gone. Had the sunrise pizza this last time, it was pretty good. It was a bit greasy and too salty though, something I wasn't really expecting from Urth, but it was still good. I'd probably just get a different pizza next time. Vegans and even non-vegans - the paradise salad is great. If you're trying to be healthy, go for this. It won't disappoint. Drinks are always good too. The only ones I've had issues with are the blended ones. Too icy. Stick with iced or hot drinks. Green tea boba and Spanish latte are good. Atmosphere is nice outside. They have plenty of heaters so if it's cold you should be good. They keep self serve water outside which is nice. Line can be pretty long and slow as I mentioned before, but I've never had a problem finding a table. However, be prepared to wait for your food and sometimes your drinks take even longer. Not sure why and it doesn't even seem to correlate with how busy they are. So just take your time and enjoy when you're here. I'd say 3.5 overall, I just couldn't give them a 4 for how inconsistent it can be. They're getting better though. read more

I got my food at 3pm. It's 3:18, we finished our food, and STILL NO DRINKS! I went to ask them about my drinks and they said they'll be out "4-5 min" it's been 10 min and I still no drinks. I've been coming here for a while and this never happens. I'm not sure if it's the crew but all I know is that i'm not the first one to complain today. I've seen multiple people complain. The cashier wasn't the nicest either. Just got my drinks and they don't even taste like fresh smoothies. It's taste like they added some oat milk in them. How disappointing. I love this spot for breakfast the only reason I give it 4 starts is because it's overly crowded and the waits are insanely long. With so many open properties for sale and rent in laguna they can easily open a second location down the street to avoid the crowds or at least do a take out only location to lessen the wait. That being said I recommend take out only here but expect to still wait about 10 minutes in a line to pick Up your food that you pre ordered. read more

Originally leaning closer to considering this place a 3 star establishment, but there needs to be some forgiveness with how busy and in-demand this place seems to be and the location is perfect for people who may be visiting Laguna Beach. Located right on PCH and only steps away from the beachside, you can find plenty of metered parking nearby and maybe even get lucky with street parking. The line has almost consistently always been out the door and nearly into the sidewalk, but there are some ways to address this issue without having to wait in line. For example, you can order online ahead of time to do pick up or you can skip the main line entirely and go off to the left hand side of the registers for to-go ordering. However, I can see that most people that come to this restaurant would like to dine-in and have their food bussed to a table, so the pick up option is only really worthwhile for people who are planning to just grab a quick beverage (like me!). I found the Spanish latte to be consistent, with strong coffee flavor and a bit of sweetness that helps keep everything well rounded. It's also similarly priced to franchise coffees and much more worthwhile considering they will even add some latte art on your coffee. I've waited 30 minutes to an hour and found it really frustrating whenever ordering here, but after ordering ahead of time online and selecting pick up as an option, I can finally enjoy coming back here to grab a nice cup of coffee before walking along the beachside. read more

Honestly worst urth cafe I've been to. The Italian cappuccino was so bad. The matcha cake tasted bad too. I left it on the table and left. It takes an hour to stand in line and get to the cashier to make an order. Ridiculous! The berry cake is a 3/5, and I would not order it again. There were a lot of dirty tables and a long line out the door as usual. I normally don't write reviews. But. So we just got married the day before on 11/22/25. Always drove by here when we're in Laguna. We wanted to grab a quick bite before heading out. I got the Any Style Eggs (Over easy) and Pancakes. It took a while to get them. Which is reasonable cause it was busy and I expected that. When the food came. Looked great. But my eggs were cold. Pancakes were as best on the lukewarm to cold side. I thought, hmmm, is this the way the eggs are suppose to come out here? So being tired from our great night before. I didn't say anything. Went ahead and ate them. Cold and the Taste was off. Seems like they didn't have anyone making sure the food came out as it should, like warm at least. Seemed like the eggs were sitting there a bit waiting to be taken out to us. I told friends who have been and they said eggs should not be cold. I guess it's on me for not asking. Cheese on the pizza wasn't "stringy" and panini got soft. It was fairly flavorful but the temperature ruined it. No idea what happened. Then we asked twice where our drinks are... "you are next, you are next" they were saying. Yet it wasn't that busy. So we started eating, we finished and then got our drinks... super. A bit disappointing. Came in on a Sunday late morning for brunch, literally the busiest time. The staff was friendly and nice but since it was busy took a long time to get our order out. My friends orders were fine except for they thought we had ordered a sandwich instead of The eggs salmone. The quickly brought out the right dish had no extra charge so thank you! Also I'm sad to say that the Japanese sweet red plum sushi was disgusting. I'm so sad I had high hopes but It tasted like it was sitting in the fridge for days, was mushy and cold and was made with old brown rice and avocado. We have been to this location 3 times and 2 to the orange location. Love the coffee. Pastries are really good. With that in mind we keep giving this place a chance. However, I don't know what it is, but the service is pretty much unacceptable. Last time I went I waited for my latte and pastry for 50mins. And that's not out of the norm with our past experiences. So as much as I'd like to leave a 5 star rating for the food.....I cannot. If you are crunched for time or have any hope of enjoying your morning without complete frustration....avoid. read more

I visited and ordered the French Toast and Matcha Latte (not pictured); food was average, but I will never forget how a seagull stepped in my drink and my half-eaten toast as I turned away to pour a cup of water. This is a reliable location that I always enjoy visiting. The service is as fast as it can be with so many patrons (the line is frequently out the door), and the I've never experienced any mistakes on my orders. The smoothies are great- just tried the amazon one, and it was delicious after a long hike! I had tried the beets one previously, and I have a feeling someone didn't blend it enough because I had huge chunks of beets that even I, as a beets enthusiast, could not finish lol. Although many menu items are tasty, I most frequently return to the vegan panini with mushrooms. There's one cashier in particular who is so kind to automatically include the side salad that's indicated as "by request only" on the menu, but which I always forget to request! The same lady also gives great recommendations if you ever want to venture for a new item. I've enjoyed the pecan tart pastry, but would not recommend the hazelnut bun, as tasty as it sounds. I have yet to try the matcha tiramisu, but I always see someone with it and am envious! Even when it's rainy (or, realistically drizzly), there's sufficient cover to enjoy your meal. read more

We got there at 9 and we didn't wait too long to otlrder. We got our three drinks at 9:40 and that was because we went and got them ourselves. My cousin's pineapple smoothie was watered down. My other cousin and myself got hot lattes and both were lukewarm. I am not that picky about the temperature of my drinks, but if you are I think this place might not be the best pick. They are always busy and the service is usually not very good. The only good thing is the taste usually. I usually order an almond milk honey vanilla latte and this time I was given a peppermint mocha ( not a huge cocoa or chocolate fan btw) and I had to return to get my drink switched which was no problem but I have to say the staff was questioning my drink AND I did pay for an extra shot of espresso ( always ristretto) - in conclusion: I got my pick me up Paid extra ( had the receipt) but didn't get what I paid for. read more

We came here on a Sunday with a group of 15 around 12:30pm. It's in a great location a block away from the beach, with mostly outdoor seating, with about 6-7 indoor tables. They have heat lamps available for the cooler days. The place was busy the whole time we were there. Parking is a bit tricky. There are metered spots and then neighborhood parking on the street. Seating is open seating and we were able to get a few tables together (with the help of the staff) to accommodate our huge group. You order at the counter and get a number and they bring the food out to you. Our food came out in a timely fashion especially with our large order. The drinks took a while though and some of them didn't come out. The manager was accepting of their mistakes and wanted to make it right. She gave us a refund promptly. The food was really good. Everything we had tasted fresh. Portion sizes were hefty. The panini was a little dry and could have used a little more of the chili sauce. The lasagna was tasty! The stuffed French toast was delicious. Huge portion and very rich. The poached egg was a little too soft. The nori wrap was fresh and a nice portion. The desserts were fabulous!
