Always a delicious time at Moon goat. This small walk up and drive up coffee and pastry shop is one of my favorites in Laguna. Service is always super friendly and nice and very helpful. I was gonna try something off the holiday menu since it was still present however I went with my old standby the iced churro latte. Well balanced, sweet, delicious. I've never had any pastries or other drink drinks here, but I should probably try something else. Sort of parking but not really. Stopped by here for some coffee after a hike, and it was cute! I don't think it's anything special, but it is good. I got an iced Hulk, which is a matcha latte with cascara  and koatja milk. It's just a pretty standard matcha latte, not bad, not great.  I wouldn't necessarily recommend this place, but it is one of the only matcha places I could find in the Laguna Beach area. The matcha blueberry lavender with oat milk was delicious. The flavors were unique but really well balanced -- the blueberry and lavender added a subtle sweetness that paired perfectly with the matcha. I'd definitely order it again. read more

They always have something cool and new in the works - I loved their yuzu slush and adding matcha for summer, but their fizzy Americano (Italian style) and sparkling matcha spritzer are equally unforgettable and my personal staples. If you have this place "bookmarked" please do yourself a favor and "UN-bookmark it".......... Now, if you have time to know why, you can continue reading this review. The main Moongoat location in Costa Mesa is awesome and serves delicious coffees. So when I saw that they have a drive-thru in Laguna, I was sooo excited to give it a try! Upon turning into the place, right off the bat, I saw that they have a line for "mobile" pick up that is basically goes against the regular traffic. Considering that this place is super small, the mobile lane makes it soooo hard to maneuver especially if you are driving a 4 wheel drive! I just don't understand, the whole point of the drive-thru is getting your drinks in-n-out, so not sure why there is a seperate "mobile" lane?!!!! Besides the headache of getting to the ordering window,, my iced vanilla latte was sooo watery and bland that it was just awful... I always order my drinks half sweet, but this honestly just tasted like milk mixed with ice, there was no coffee flavor whatsoever. This place was truly a diappointment. I totally can see it not surviving, unless they make some huge changes to their ordering setup and the quality of their drinks!!!! read more

Everyone I know who has had Moongoat claims it's their top coffee in the area. Frankly, I agree with them.

I can see why this place is popular, though I can't say I'll be back in a hurry. The most important part of a coffee shop is the coffee, obviously. And this coffee is fine. It's not bad, which can't be said for some other cafes in Laguna, but it's not above average either in my opinion. Their ice is nice! The location is a little.. interesting. It's pretty isolated from other places you'd casually find yourself, basically low foot traffic. But that's not something that can be held against the business. You get what you can with Laguna so for what it is, I think it works well. It was cute! Just a little out of the way. Lastly, the staff were quick and friendly enough. Seemed a little overstaffed when I was there, but from what I've heard I'm sure this place can get fairly busy. No big complaints honestly. It's cute so I can see why it's popular and the coffee is better than Starbucks, but that's the bare minimum to me. If for some reason you find yourself in the area, I recommend stopping, but I don't think it's something you need to go out of your way to experience. read more

The Banana Matcha was amazing, at just under $9. I swapped the banana cold foam for sea salt cold foam and loved it even more (though the banana foam is still good too). The iced Café Brü, however, was a big disappointment. It was extremely bitter, and no sweetener option was offered when ordered. When I asked if it could be made less bitter, the barista first gave me raw cane sugar packets (which don't dissolve in iced coffee). After I explained that, she went inside and came back with a small cup of brown sugar syrup instead of actually fixing or remaking the drink. Even with the syrup, the coffee stayed unbearably bitter, and we ended up throwing it away. This was around 7:30am 9/1/25. It was not busy at all. Overall: the Banana Matcha was amazing, but the Café Brü was far too bitter, and the service wasn't very accommodating in resolving the issue. read more

I've been to the MoonGoat in Costa Mesa a few times & I had high hopes for this location in Laguna. It's a drive thru which is so convenient when heading to the beach. But it's kind of an odd way to get in & out of this location. The drive thru area is so so tiny & the exit is awkward. There are a few spots to park & that's about it. The three times I've been here, I was helped by a very bored & unenthusiastic guy who looked like he wanted to be anywhere else but there. Not a good morning/hello how are you? So odd. They have a limited drink/ pastry menu which I was surprised but understand as it is a tiny tiny location & you would think the drinks would taste that much better but each time I ordered I was underwhelmed. There are a lot of spots nearby that have better quality coffee, I just wish they could be as good as their location in CM. I ordered the blueberry lemon loaf for my daughter & she liked it. Good service & coffee. We live nearby and stopped by on Sunday just before 1pm. We parked and walked up to order. The girls working were very kind and helpful. They offer walk up, drive thru, and order ahead! I'm a little confused about the coffee sizes because I got a tiny cup for my $6.25 chagaccino, which was the picture next to the Jabroni so that was a little disappointing. So happy to have gone the extra mile to get to MoonGoat in Laguna Beach! We passed the usual big guys & had our first cup of the day during our vacation here! They were so welcoming & had the patience of a GOAT while we made our decision. My husband said he had the best cappuccino ever which is impressive considering we are HUGE coffee aficionados! I had a Pumpkin Spice Koatji Latte and no sugar added. Which I was a bit iffy about since I like a little sweetener in my cup. I was glad I didn't because I would have missed out on the natural delicious taste of this coffee! The milk is made from rice & oats so digestively it was nice to my stomach that was in shambles from east coast to west coast travels in less than 24 hours. My daughter had their Ubi Cold Foam Iced Latte which was quite a treat! I also ordered their banana bread which seems to be low in sugar but great taste! I am so excited to see there is now another location for Moongoat Coffee! This location is in North Laguna, a little away from downtown, which has its benefits to be a little away from the crowds. The one downside though is that it is only drive-through so there is no place to sit down and hang out, unlike the Costa Mesa location, and the spot is located awkwardly in the corner where the entrance off PCH is for drive through and the entrance off the cross street is for mobile orders only. But that being said....mobile orders offering? Take advantage: since it is drive through and there is limited street parking, you might as well order ahead of time and pick up your coffee to bring elsewhere. There's tons of cool little spots along the coast to sit and enjoy your coffee with a beautiful view. The coffee is delicious, i have had both the plain regular coffee as well as the lattes: last time I got the churro and it was such a treat: it takes like Fall! I think this is worth a visit if you're in the area! read more
