Moongoat Coffee is located in a great spot in Laguna and is a convenient drive-thru café, making it perfect when you're on the go. I can definitely see why it's so popular. I tried the churro latte, and it was honestly really good. The flavor was smooth, well balanced, and definitely lived up to the hype. The customer service was friendly, and the experience was quick and efficient despite how busy they were. I had a lovely experience here! The setup at this location is a grab and go counter or drive thru. They do have tables along the street and one near the corner, which still made it a great place to sit and enjoy our drinks. Everything was very clean! Service was very friendly and welcoming! We got a churro latte and a plain vanilla latte and both were very good. Definitely worth a stop if you're passing by and need an afternoon pick me up. read more

I have been here a few times, even though I have driven past it hundreds of times. My daughter was emphatic that I try it with her. Dislocation is a tiny little drive through.But the workers work efficient and fast. It's pretty pricey, but the drinks that i've had, variations of the cold matcha, have been spot on. read more

What a fun little coffee stop! By entering through Fairview Street, one lane is for app-placed orders; the other, one can park among the limited spaces to place one's order at the walk-up window. The staff member assisting us that afternoon was appreciatively helpful, patient and professional. This location is convenient to taking one's beverages, to enjoy at the beach! read more

Stopped by here for some coffee after a hike, and it was cute! I don't think it's anything special, but it is good. I got an iced Hulk, which is a matcha latte with cascara and koatja milk. It's just a pretty standard matcha latte, not bad, not great. I wouldn't necessarily recommend this place, but it is one of the only matcha places I could find in the Laguna Beach area. It also has a drive thru so it is very convenient. read more

Always a delicious time at Moon goat. This small walk up and drive up coffee and pastry shop is one of my favorites in Laguna. Service is always super friendly and nice and very helpful. I was gonna try something off the holiday menu since it was still present however I went with my old standby the iced churro latte. Well balanced, sweet, delicious. I've never had any pastries or other drink drinks here, but I should probably try something else. Sort of parking but not really. Just a cool vibe with some coffee beans and retail items available as well. read more

Horrible. We drove through on 6-14 for an iced flat white and an iced matcha. Both tasted sour. Bad milk? Pre-maid products? Either way, we threw both away. Should have returned them, but we were already in Newport Beach. What a waste. read more

So convenient that MoonGoat has a drive thru / walk up location right on PCH! I'm a huge fan of their churro latte so I love that I can grab it before a morning walk along the beach or drive in to pick up my mobile order before making my way up coast hwy. Service is always super quick and friendly and they even have some merch available. Love their banana bread and pastries read more

If you have this place "bookmarked" please do yourself a favor and "UN-bookmark it".......... Now, if you have time to know why, you can continue reading this review. The main Moongoat location in Costa Mesa is awesome and serves delicious coffees. So when I saw that they have a drive-thru in Laguna, I was sooo excited to give it a try! Upon turning into the place, right off the bat, I saw that they have a line for "mobile" pick up that is basically goes against the regular traffic. Considering that this place is super small, the mobile lane makes it soooo hard to maneuver especially if you are driving a 4 wheel drive! I just don't understand, the whole point of the drive-thru is getting your drinks in-n-out, so not sure why there is a seperate "mobile" lane?!!!! Besides the headache of getting to the ordering window,, my iced vanilla latte was sooo watery and bland that it was just awful... I always order my drinks half sweet, but this honestly just tasted like milk mixed with ice, there was no coffee flavor whatsoever. This place was truly a diappointment. I totally can see it not surviving, unless they make some huge changes to their ordering setup and the quality of their drinks!!!! read more

I can see why this place is popular, though I can't say I'll be back in a hurry. The most important part of a coffee shop is the coffee, obviously. And this coffee is fine. It's not bad, which can't be said for some other cafes in Laguna, but it's not above average either in my opinion. Their ice is nice! The location is a little.. interesting. It's pretty isolated from other places you'd casually find yourself, basically low foot traffic. But that's not something that can be held against the business. You get what you can with Laguna so for what it is, I think it works well. It was cute! Just a little out of the way. Lastly, the staff were quick and friendly enough. Seemed a little overstaffed when I was there, but from what I've heard I'm sure this place can get fairly busy. No big complaints honestly. It's cute so I can see why it's popular and the coffee is better than Starbucks, but that's the bare minimum to me. If for some reason you find yourself in the area, I recommend stopping, but I don't think it's something you need to go out of your way to experience. read more

Awesome service every time! This place has been such a staple. They always have something cool and new in the works - I loved their yuzu slush and adding matcha for summer, but their fizzy Americano (Italian style) and sparkling matcha spritzer are equally unforgettable and my personal staples. Being able to drive through with friends, family, and pets is so fun! No matter how busy they get, they always make sure the customers are greeted with smiles- impressive! read more

Very cute little coffee shop on PCH, it's basically just a little drive-thru! The service was friendly and quick, especially considering there was only one person working it! The drinks weren't bad, but weren't anything special, the coffee and chai itself tasted good, but the drinks definitely relied on lots of syrup or sugar for the flavor. Not at all a bad spot, but I'd probably try another shop next time I'm in the area. read more

I've already been a fan of MoonGoat from other locations that I've visited throughout Orange County but this one is probably my all time favorite so far. I love this drive thru that they set up especially for customers whose therapy consists of driving along the PCH blasting your favorite songs, sipping on much needed caffeine, and getting a pause from the daily rhythm of life. The Banana Matcha was amazing, at just under $9. I swapped the banana cold foam for sea salt cold foam and loved it even more (though the banana foam is still good too). The iced Café Brü, however, was a big disappointment. It was extremely bitter, and no sweetener option was offered when ordered. When I asked if it could be made less bitter, the barista first gave me raw cane sugar packets (which don't dissolve in iced coffee). After I explained that, she went inside and came back with a small cup of brown sugar syrup instead of actually fixing or remaking the drink. Even with the syrup, the coffee stayed unbearably bitter, and we ended up throwing it away. This was around 7:30am 9/1/25. It was not busy at all. Overall: the Banana Matcha was amazing, but the Café Brü was far too bitter, and the service wasn't very accommodating in resolving the issue. read more

The place is really cute and the servers are always really nice but a few times I come here I keep saying I'm not coming back. Flat out the coffee is bitter, just black straight coffee, which I enjoy. If you do a blended latte, obviously it's not so bad because there's added milk, etc. but just for a great cup of straight coffee, maybe even with a hit of half-and-half is just bitter and un enjoyable read more

I've been to the MoonGoat in Costa Mesa a few times & I had high hopes for this location in Laguna. It's a drive thru which is so convenient when heading to the beach. But it's kind of an odd way to get in & out of this location. The drive thru area is so so tiny & the exit is awkward. There are a few spots to park & that's about it. The three times I've been here, I was helped by a very bored & unenthusiastic guy who looked like he wanted to be anywhere else but there. Not a good morning/hello how are you? So odd. They have a limited drink/ pastry menu which I was surprised but understand as it is a tiny tiny location & you would think the drinks would taste that much better but each time I ordered I was underwhelmed. There are a lot of spots nearby that have better quality coffee, I just wish they could be as good as their location in CM. I ordered the blueberry lemon loaf for my daughter & she liked it. Every time I ordered the iced churro latte it tasted a bit different but nothing special. read more

Good service & coffee. We live nearby and stopped by on Sunday just before 1pm. We parked and walked up to order. The girls working were very kind and helpful. They offer walk up, drive thru, and order ahead! I'm a little confused about the coffee sizes because I got a tiny cup for my $6.25 chagaccino, which was the picture next to the Jabroni so that was a little disappointing. The strawberry brûlée latte was actually so good, it didn't have an over powering strawberry flavor it was a latte with a hint of strawberry so that was nice. Coffee options were pretty good! I got an oat milk latte and it wasn't sweetened at all which was not my thing. The vegan banana bread was actually really good! The service was great, and we walked up rather than didn't drive through. I loved the cups with goats on them. We also got a Chagaccino which was interesting but wished it had more mushrooms. read more

Had a great experience here today. It was my first time and I didn't know what to order so I asked the barista what she recommended and she suggested the iced churro latte. It was delicious! It had a strong coffee flavor along with a good blend of cinnamon. I will def stop by next time I'm in the area. Used to go here from time to time and enjoyed it for the most part but this recent trip was disappointing. I ordered the iced matcha latte and churro latte. The matcha was almost non existent; it tasted like straight milk. The churro latte also tasted milky but a very very sweet milk. No matcha or coffee in sight. Don't recommend at all. So happy to have gone the extra mile to get to MoonGoat in Laguna Beach! We passed the usual big guys & had our first cup of the day during our vacation here! They were so welcoming & had the patience of a GOAT while we made our decision. My husband said he had the best cappuccino ever which is impressive considering we are HUGE coffee aficionados! I had a Pumpkin Spice Koatji Latte and no sugar added. Which I was a bit iffy about since I like a little sweetener in my cup. I was glad I didn't because I would have missed out on the natural delicious taste of this coffee! The milk is made from rice & oats so digestively it was nice to my stomach that was in shambles from east coast to west coast travels in less than 24 hours. My daughter had their Ubi Cold Foam Iced Latte which was quite a treat! I also ordered their banana bread which seems to be low in sugar but great taste! Didn't do my homework there... but it was a nice compliment to my order. Great drive thru experience! Check them out if in the area! read more

Such a cute little coffee stand by the beach with good drinks. It was a little bit of a walk if you're coming from the beach but it's not too bad. A little more than that I think actually. I get it - it's a pricey area, they're a block from oven views, it's Laguna, I'm too broke to live and exist there but good Lord. All of that aside, it is a very cute shop, very cute merch, and very good vibes with lots of sitting areas. They even had a cute little corner with toys for kids to play with, which I love!

Don't try to be different, just get good italian made cappuccino cups. Not sure how this place has the reviews it has but my wife agreed that it was awful. Not a fan and likely would not come back. It just solidifies my theory that most coffee places have no idea how to roast and pull coffee. This is why I stay home and use my Illy classico coffee and gaggia machine instead when home but I was not home this time. Snotty? Yes but why go through life drinking crap coffee and paying for it.

They are getting in an Ethiopian variety in a few days which sounds like it's going to be really good. I love the minimalist sharp clean Vibe and the coffee and service was fantastic. We tried a cortado and a cold brew their cold brew is a true 24-hour slow drip. I wish I had taken a picture of the unique looking contraption they use to make their cold Brew. Around 3pm (they close at 8), an employee flipped the bar chairs upside down onto the counter without wiping anything, which blocked the view of the business from the sidewalk. People kept walking and wondering out loud if it was closed or closing soon. During a few instances, customers pulled chairs down to sit, got told hastily to put them back when they were done, then a second group and individual customer did the same and sat with their drinks for a few minutes and were told outright they couldn't sit there and the chairs had to go back up, right as a line was forming from the better visibility. There were multiple instances of customers wanting to sit and enjoy their drink, but could not. It was odd. Once the chairs were back up, the business slowed down to a trickle. It was almost comical how the business hurt its own flow. I don't know why we were left alone, maybe because we had laptops and came before some unknown patio seating cutoff rule. The bathroom was just as bad, overflowing trash and paper all over the floor, both when we arrived and when we left. Restrooms should be checked hourly. It's not hard, and it makes you wonder about hygiene behind the counter too. I've had cleaner, friendlier experiences at other Better Buzz locations (La Mesa, University, Point Loma). For Laguna Beach, I'd check out Equator Coffee nearby instead (unfortunately only open until 3), located inside the Rivian showroom, a historic 1922 theater with couches, balcony seating, wifi, and sometimes free evening film screenings you can catch later. TL/DR: Dirty tables and bathroom at this Better Buzz, and an unwelcoming vibe for customers and passersby alike.

I think I fucked up by not getting the bon fire or bomb fire. Whatever the fuck it's called. There was a pretty long line, so I'm not going to pretend we walked right in and were immediately handed dessert by the gods. We waited. But honestly? Worth it. It was worth it. Cus sometimes you have to be a worthless piece of shit waiting in a 30-40 minute line at 9 pm. For some soft serve. Because there's something about getting ice cream in Laguna Beach, walking around afterward, and realizing you just consumed enough sugar to potentially see through time that makes the whole experience work. I have diabetes now. Type 2. South Swell isn't trying to be some precious, overly sophisticated dessert destination. It's fun, indulgent, messy, nostalgic, and unapologetically excessive. We waited about 30 mins for our ice cream and if there wasn't a line I would definitely swing by but I don't think this spot is worth waiting longer than 15 mins for ice cream.

My friends got the nutella latte and dirty chai latte, and I got the hot matcha latte. The lattes were perfectly sweet and creamy. Their matcha comes unsweetened, so you can add syrup or use sugar packets to sweeten it. Most places sell watery matcha, but this one is decently strong and very vibrant in color. Still craving that nutella latte! Savory foods were amazing. I got the half turkey sandwich, and my friends got the chorizo burrito. I'm usually bad at finishing my food, but I got through my whole plate! I don't eat pork, so I didn't try the burrito, but my friends described it as cheesy and filling. Can definitely share one burrito between two people. The sweet foods were too sweet for me. We had banana bread, matcha cookies, and matcha scones. Really want to come back soon!

There's not much I enjoy more than discovering a great local coffee shop, so I was excited to check this one out. The experience didn't disappoint. The employees were patient with us as first timers and were happy to answer our questions about the menu. I ended up ordering the Iced Lavender Caramel Latte, and it was delicious. It reminded me of one of my favorite local coffee shops back home, which is high praise. I expected it to be on the sweeter side, but it was perfectly balanced. It also wasn't overloaded with ice, so it never reached that watered down stage halfway through the drink. If I'm ever back in Dana Point, I'll gladly stop in for another one.

Not really a coffee person but I love the flavor of this & the cream top is super complimentary. Ume Matcha sweetened with maple syrup + malted cold foam: Tasted good. They said their matcha wasn't sweetened, which is why I added the maple syrup (but it's an extra charge). I love the malted latte so I decided to add the foam on top, which tasted amazing! Hopefully to try again but sweetened with vanilla instead so it's like a Matcha Malted Latte!
